Somewhere I will find all the pieces left behind

Shadow's POV

Being pressed up against her isn't as bad as when she touches me; I don't even know how long I've been stuck here. I honestly think I grew a beard or something. Feeling her stir beside me, I stiffened as she smiled, murmuring, "Morning, muffin."

I groaned at that, thinking, 'I don't think I'm muffin material, damn things are cupcakes in different flavors and without icing. At least Female's pet name makes sense; I am pretty fluffy.'

Sitting up and turning to get out of bed, I heard her say, "By the way, you should change. I want my friends to see you, well, since I told them about you yesterday."

I grunted in response and headed for the bathroom seeing a shirt and jeans prepared for me. That's…unsettling, I usually get my own clothes out to not bother Female. Besides, why would I want to bother her, most importantly while she's sleeping? Closing the door behind me, I showered and got out a few minutes later. Frowning at the material, I sighed and threw it on slightly surprised it fit.

Walking out, I grimaced at being pulled out of the house quicker than I expected. Reluctantly, I followed her while also thinking of a strategy to get away from her. Seeing a group of fish, I inwardly groaned at them catching sight of us and waving us over.

One of them gasped, exclaiming, "Oh my Neptune, he is hot!"

"Yeah, how'd you pull this one?"

She smiled, replying, "Ya know, a wave of the hips and a wink."

Another with a purple complexion, dress, and black hair, asked, "So, how long have you two been together?"

Latching onto my arm, she answered, "About a year now."

They gasped, asking in unison, "Are you planning on proposing?"

"Actually, I'm…" I stopped at not feeling my ring, damn it; she must've taken it off while I was sleeping. They looked at me waiting for my reply.

"He probably will; I'm sure he will." Pearl answered, much to their excitement. Excusing myself, I left planning to run once I was far enough. Taking off, I grunted at running into someone and taking them down with me.

Lifting myself up, I met green orbs and chuckled. Grabbing a small container out of my back pocket, I held up a blue pill and removed the helmet. Taking the pill, she snorted, asking, "What are you wearin'?"

"I have no idea; just know that I hate it." I answered, trapping her lips with my own before she could respond. I actually missed how soft her lips are, I wonder if she grabbed coffee on her way here.

Pulling away with bated breath, she grinned, rubbing my jaw, saying, "You should shave when we get home."

Helping her up, I nodded briefly dipping back down for a chaste kiss. She turned to where I came from and growled lightly, making her way over to the whale. Putting my hand over my mouth, I smiled at hearing Female yell at her. Watching them argue, I chuckled as she pushed the girls out of her way to get to Pearl. Flinging her to the other side of the beach, I snickered as she made her way back towards me.

Putting my arm across her shoulder, I declared, "I love it when you're jealous."

Playfully sticking her tongue out, she replied, "I was not jealous…you reek of blubber."

I shrugged, transporting us back home. "Seriously, you reek, go shower."

"Gladly." I replied, entering the house and making my way to the bathroom. Getting out a few minutes later, I smirked and left the bathroom suspecting her to be working or in the living room. Finally finding her, I embraced her from behind earning a squeak in surprise.

"Don't do that; you know I hate it!" She yelled, smacking my arms.

Kissing the side of her neck, I chuckled, replying, "That's exactly why I do it. Where are the…"

"They went to Texas, and we're goin' too." She interrupted, causing me to groan. Nuzzling into her, I purred softly once I realized she probably stole my shirt just to gain my scent. Turning towards me, she continued, "But, no one ever said we had to leave tonight or tomorrow."

Looks like I'll have to argue with the commander another day. Going to bed, I pulled her closer to me than I normally do. Resting my head on her shoulder, I murmured, "God, you're soft. I might have missed you."

Seeing her lips curve into a smile, she shook her head, lightly gripping my back. Exhaling in relief and comfort, I later fell asleep after her, wrapped in plush covers and lithe arms.

A/N: Sorry this is so short, I haven't had time to work as much since the end of the school year is coming closer; so are finals. But I do have a question: What makes you guys read this?
