I'm not the one that you need
A/N: Okay, the beginning (and maybe a bit of the middle) of the chapter might leave you slightly flustered if you haven't read chapters 6 and 15. Anyway, happy mother's day! Enjoy.
Sandy's POV
Turning over to my back, I grinned seeing Shadow still asleep. Rolling on top of him, I sighed feeling him stir. Petting me, he chuckled, saying, "I see you're comfortable."
Sitting up, I nodded splaying my hands on his chest, raking them through his fur earning a growl. Squealing, I bounced up and down, momentarily forgetting I was sitting on him. "When'd you get these?"
"Two weeks ago, I barely realized it happened." He answered, gesturing to his abdomen. Grinning he continued, "Besides, you keep that up and people going to start wondering why you haven't come out of the room."
Blushing, I hopped off him, exclaiming, "You're a huge pervert ya know that!"
Walking into the bathroom, I undressed and stepped under the semi-warm water. Getting out a few minutes later, I jumped and nearly slipped, catching myself in time to hear him chuckle.
"W-what are you doin' in here?" I asked, putting my arm over my chest.
"You left your gown on the floor; don't you think it's getting a little short?" He stated, holding up the light purple, silk material.
Huffing, I wrapped my towel around me, wanting to get past him. Pulling me towards him, I tensed, gripping my towel to keep it from falling. "Could you leave so I can get dressed?"
Ignoring me, he rested his head in the crook of my neck, murmuring, "You smell like honey."
"That's sickeningly sweet, now let me go." I demanded, trying to wiggle out of his grasp. Squeaking in surprise, I wrapped around him to avoid hurtling myself to the floor.
Dropping me on the bed and giving a light squeeze to my thigh, he said, "You can get dressed now."
Muttering under my breath, I proceeded with dressing myself still slightly flustered by our small encounter. Turning, I blushed heavily, exclaimed, "Don't make her change the rating, you idiot!"
Covering himself, he grinned, retorting, "Quit breaking the fourth wall, besides I like teasing you."
I groaned, muttering, "Why did I go get you?"
"You can't bear the thought of being alone now, or at least that's what I'm seeing."
"That was a rhetorical question. Now, get dressed, I don't…" I stopped at seeing him already dressed, and currently packing.
After we finished, I watched him check his pockets for something, which later turned into him freaking out. Reaching into my back pocket, I pulled the carton out and held it towards him. "You're such an idiot sometimes."
Taking the cigars from me, he scoffed putting them in his coat pocket for easier access. "Yes, well, at least I didn't set my tail on fire multiple times."
"I told you it was an accident. Let's just go."
Teleporting us to Texas, I released myself from his grip and smiled like a child who just got a new puppy. Turning to him, I remarked, "Let's see a city-slicker like you survive."
He smirked, retorting, "It's easy to adapt, Frau. Wanna go to Germany sometime?"
I nodded, taking on his bet and started towards the farm. Contemplating about going into the house first, I decided against it, heading straight for the barn. Noticing how not much had changed; I sat next to him becoming comfortable in the silence between us.
"I don't think I'll tell them I'm here yet, especially when I know your mother will freak out." He said with a chuckle, breaking the silence.
I laughed, replying, "That barely makes any sense. I'm positive you'll be sad when the kids leave."
He snorted, retaliating, "Maybe, but not as much as you. At least then we'd be able to travel."
I nodded in slight agreement, pecking him on the cheek. Hearing the back door open then close, I shot up throwing hay on him and making sure he was well covered before Ma came in asking, "How come you didn't come through the house?"
"It took a while for me to get here, so I jus' wanted to put my stuff down and relax for a while." I answered, only half way lying.
She nodded, saying, "Rest up for tomorrow; I have something I want to tell you."
I nodded briefly as she left. Moving the hay only to see him gone, I frowned, turning around, saying, "You're lucky she didn't see you. Oh, you forgot to grab this yesterday."
Taking his ring off my finger, I took off his glove and slipped the ring back on. He hummed lightly before saying, "There's one more thing missing. You never marked me."
Glancing at the purple mark on my collarbone, I grinned, wrapping my arms around his neck, muttering, "Maybe tomorrow, if ma doesn't keep me long."
"And you say I'm perverted. Sounds like a deal, Female." He stated, later shivering lightly once I kissed his jawline. Going to the other side of the barn, I made a makeshift bed out of hay getting a small reminder of nights pa, Randy, and I would camp out here. Dissolving into sleep, I snuggled further in the hay.
A/N: I know this chapter is sudden and unfortunately short, but I knew that I wouldn't have time when I have finals tomorrow and Tuesday. Any questions? Review please.
