Chapter 11: Test Results And Christmas Break
No one saw Harry and Hermione for the rest of the term. Slytherin managed to win against Hufflepuff, meaning that Ravenclaw would be facing Hufflepuff in February, followed by, if they won, against Gryffindor as a last resort for that house. News that Ron Weasley and his band of morons had been taken and were now in a holding cell in Azkaban was all over the school. Malfoy, personally, thought the whole thing was funny. Severus Snape, on the other hand, had more important and pressing matters.
Their test results had finally come in.
"Aren't you going to open it?" Remus asked him.
"Their the only ones that can," Severus said, "But don't get me wrong, I'm interested in what the results are."
"I bet you are," Sirius muttered, causing Severus to give him a dark look.
"Well I hope they've done well," Remus said.
"Me too," Severus agreed.
Severus visited the wing almost everyday. He was mainly able to over the weekend, but he wished that he could just get someone else to teach his classes until his children woke up. But no one could do the job better than him and it had taken him years to realize that he loved teaching, even though the students were total idiots.
The Christmas holidays began and soon the castle was empty of those that weren't staying at Hogwarts during the winter break. Thankfully that was everyone, except for the two in the wing, and so that meant that he didn't have to patrol the halls like he usually had to do.
"Any change?" Sirius asked.
"I'm heading there right now," Severus said, "Gods, I hope there is some kind of change."
When they entered the wing Severus was shocked to find that both Harry and Hermione were wide awake. Severus rushed over and gave both his children embraces, tears falling down like they had when Lily had died.
"Merlin, I thought I had lost both of you," he said.
"Ron did it," Hermione told him.
"We found out that he did," Sirius said, ruffling Harry's hair.
"He's not coming back, is he?" Hermione asked, fear in her voice.
Severus hated hearing it and he said, "No, he's not coming back. He's in a cell in Azkaban."
"Thank god," Harry said.
"They should be able to leave in a couple of days," Madam Pomfrey said, "Their cores have fully recovered and so have their bodies."
"Thanks, Poppy," Sirius said and Severus saw him leaving.
"Are we going back to the manor?" Hermione asked him.
"Of course," Severus said, "And I have your test results."
"Thanks," Harry said, not sounding excited.
Severus knew that he was upset about the whole 'death' thing and he really hoped that Harry didn't fall into a deep depression. Of course the fear was that Harry would fall into a deep depression due to what had happened to him in the past and what had happened to him now. He waited until they both had fallen asleep and left the wing. He had only one person that he could go to, besides Dumbledore, and that was Lucius Malfoy.
When he arrived at Malfoy Manor he was received at once and found Lucius drinking brandy, his two dogs at his feet. Lucius gave him an odd look and then asked, "What brings you here?"
"I need a small word with you," Severus told him.
"Isn't being the father of the boy that defeated-."
"I'm not here to talk about Tom," Severus cut in, "I'm here to talk about something that has serious effects on us all."
Lucius gave him a cold look and then Narcissa walked in, Draco with her.
"Fine, what is it?" he asked.
"I need for you to tell me the name of a good mind healer," Severus said, "I don't have access to them, as I've never needed them. You seem to know all the good ones that are tops in their field."
"What happened?" Narcissa asked.
"Ron Weasley used a cursed knife on my heiress and her brother," Severus told her, "A dark object that would have killed them if they had not unleashed their elemental powers."
"And how would Weasley get his hands on a cursed knife?" Narcissa asked.
"I think that Madam Bones said that he had traded something valuable for it," Severus said, "But something was keeping him from telling."
"An Anti-Compulsion Charm," Lucius said.
"I fear that something has happened to their moods which are due to the knife," Severus said, "I don't know that much about cursed blades to know how to handle this."
"It's not my problem," Lucius said.
"We're talking about my heiress and her brother," Severus snarled.
Lucius drank some of his brandy down and Draco said, "I can find the books on cursed blades."
"You will not," Lucius snarled.
"And why not?" Narcissa said, "Severus has helped us out before and I think we should help him out."
"Because his son defeated the Dark Lord," he said.
"And have you forgotten that the house of Malfoy owes a debt to the house of Prince," she asked him, "You know, that little debt that is three hundred years overdue."
Lucius glared at her and then said, "Fine, get the books. I will get your mind healer, but this clears our debt."
"Of course," Severus said, grinning.

"I feel polluted," Hermione told Harry.
"I know," Harry said, picking up the results that Severus had left behind.
Opening it he pulled out a sheet of parchment and read:
Mr. Harry Snape
Elemental Powers: Fire and Water
Transfiguration: Level Four
Charms: Level Three
Potions: Level Seven
Herbology: Level Three
Defense: Level Six
Dark Arts: Level One
"I wonder why it didn't mention the other classes," Harry wondered, "And why did I get a result for dark arts?"
"I got the same results," Hermione said.
"What do you think will happen now?" Harry asked her.
"I don't know," Hermione said, "I don't want this near death to define me, but I'm scared that Ron Weasley is going to get out of Azkaban and kill us."
Harry shivered at that thought and said, "Yeah, I know."
Three days later both of them were free to go. Severus and Sirius, Remus tagging along, was there to greet them. For the past couple of days Harry kept waking up to a nightmare of Ron trying to kill him. The shivering told him that Hermione had the same nightmare.
"I have someone that wants to talk to you when we get to the manor," Severus told them.
"Who?" Hermione asked.
"A Mind Healer," Sirius said, "The woman should be pretty good for you both to talk to."
Harry really didn't want to talk to anyone, but when Hermione nodded he knew that he couldn't allow her to go in it alone.
"Okay," Harry said.
When they arrived back at the manor Severus asked Sirius to take Hermione and Harry up to their rooms. Harry looked at his father and then followed Sirius and Hermione up the stairs.

"They look as though their going through problems," the healer said.
Severus saw her watching them as they went up the stairs with Sirius.
"Being stabbed almost to death can do that to someone," Severus told her.
"Can we talk?" she asked him and he nodded and led her to his study. When the door was closed, she said, "I went to see the Headmaster and he told me that your son has been abused."
"Albus didn't tell me much of anything," he said, "So what happened to him at the Dursley's is a complete mystery to me."
"And your daughter?"
"Her adopted parents accepted that she was a witch," he said.
"And was she popular in school?" she asked.
"I don't know," Severus said.
"I'm going to have to spend the entire winter break talking to them," she said, "Only then will I be able to help them."
There was a knock on the door and when it opened Severus saw Sirius stepping in.
"I gave them something to help them sleep," he said.
"Good," she said, "I will have to start talking to them in the morning and the meeting will last an hour."
Severus nodded and then the Healer vanished.
"I'm worried about them," Severus told Sirius.
"I know," he said.
"Gods, why did Weasley have to do this?" he asked him.
Sirius had no answer.
The next morning both his children were silent as they ate their breakfast. The Healer was due to show up in fifteen minutes and he wanted them to have something in their stomachs. They did look well rested, but their eyes were dull. Severus took a deep breath and said, "When you're done talking to her why don't you practice Quidditch."
"I don't think so," Harry said.
"I just want to stay in my room," Hermione told him.
Severus nodded and returned to his meal.
When the Healer showed up she had him leave and Severus closed the door behind him. He would leave them in her hands.

"I'm Healer White," she said, "We're going to spend the hour introducing ourselves and then we can talk a bit about how your feeling."
Harry looked at Hermione and said, "What's the point of you being here?"
"You need to heal from your attack," she said, "And I'm here to help you."
"We don't need any help," Harry snarled.
She looked at him and said, "I believe that your father might think differently."
"I don't care what he thinks," Harry hissed and the room started to get warmer.
"Using your elemental powers will not work here," she said. "You can't just use magic to hide from the world. You have to understand what happened to you and get over it."
Wind blew around her, but she stayed where she was at.
"Now why don't we introduce ourselves," she said.
"Fine, I'm Hermione Snape," Hermione snapped.
"And your-."
"Harry Snape," he said.
"Good, now why don't we move onto your childhoods," she said.

"What if they don't work, Minerva?" Severus asked her.
"Severus, it will work," Minerva said, "You're just going to have to let things take time."
"I wish that I had someone to talk to," he told her.
Minerva sighed and said, "If I had known what your muggle father had done, I would have helped."
"I know, Minerva, I know."
Three times a week Healer White came to talk to Harry and Hermione for one hour. She wouldn't tell him what they had talked about, but not knowing was really tearing him up. Both is children still didn't look any better, but their eyes had sort of stop dulling. He really hoped, when the term began again, that things would look up. Christmas came and went, with Severus buying Harry a new broom, but other than that. Nothing had changed.
He hoped that it would.

A/N: Sorry about not making this a longer chapter, but I kind of wanted to get a couple of things out of the way.
