Sense
A/N: I'm back and this chapter might be a bit light hearted since we haven't had a chapter like that in a while. A filler chapter if you'd like to call it.
Shadow: Werewolf99, I'd prefer it if you wouldn't mention her out of respect. But to answer your question, my anger has quelled a bit, unless you're talking about my daughter.
Shadow's POV
Rolling over, I groaned realizing the blinds were open. "I really wish you'd stop linking our dreams." I grumbled, stretching my arms.
Manifesting himself, Mephiles replied, "It's fun, adding to the fact you barely dream."
Yawning, I got up, retorting, "Whatever, as long I know she's still alive then there's no need for me to go there."
Rolling his eyes, he argued, "You know you don't mean that. Admit it you care deeply about her, whether she can fight or not."
"Shut up, Mephiles." I uttered, putting on jeans and Sandy's Disturbed shirt, a bit surprised she didn't take it with her.
He shrugged, teasing, "Well, I am your subconscious, so technically you're not denying it."
Grunting in reply, I went past him to hear Maria talking on the phone. "Oh, mom went on a trip, so I'm not sure when she'll be back."
Nodding, she came towards me holding out the phone, saying, "Grandma wants to talk to you."
Taking the phone, I sighed, saying, "Hello."
"What'd you do?"
"She had to leave, besides it's not like I could've stopped her. You know as well as I do that she's stubborn." I answered, not wanting to get into an argument right now.
"Fine, but I haven't heard from her since she took two of the horses. You're her…and as much as I'd hate to say this, you're her husband the least you can do is look out for her."
"She can take care of herself; it's not she needs me to watch her every move. I'm sure she's…" I paused at feeling someone's energy deplete then quickly rise. "Anyway, I'm sure she's fine." I continued after having it stabilize.
Hearing her shift, she muttered, "I don't even know what she's doin' over there. But if anything happens, come and get me."
"Alright, I get it, overprotective mother to the rescue." I stated, mumbling the last part under my breath. Hanging up, I walked outside only to have Amy come and nearly run over me.
"Great, you're just the person I was looking for." She stated, smiling mischievously.
"What do you want now, Amy?" I asked, contemplating if this was just another scheme to get Faker to marry her. I can't blame her though, that idiot does like her.
"Actually, it's what can I do for you." She retorted, pulling me behind her home.
Lifting an eyebrow, I gestured to the shrub, questioning, "A rose bush?"
"Yup, I figured since you're bound to go after Sandy at some point; I'm offering roses as a simple gesture of love." She explained, dreamily sighing obviously thinking Sonic and that time when he gave her pink roses.
Not really one for gestures of affection, I stiffened looking down at the plants finally noticing they were unnatural colors. Obviously seeing no way out of this considering she'd pester me about it if I refused. I muttered, "I'll take six red and the other blue. Just don't bring this up again."
"Deal." She agreed, holding them towards me. Taking them, I left paying special attention to how Amy arranged them, simple yet breathtaking.
Entering the house, I put them in a vase as Shade ran up to me, asking, "Who're the flowers for, dad?"
"Your mother, for when she gets back." I answered, as she giggled.
She smiled, saying, "You must really love mom."
"That I do…also this is the only time I'm saying this." I answered, saying the last part to myself. Her smile broadened as she left preparing for bed. Glancing outside then at the clock, I stretched and made my way to the bathroom. Discarding my clothes, I groaned softly at the warm water cleansing me, steam billowing throughout the room. Getting out a few minutes later, I exhaled actually missing that woman waiting to tackle me and ask me some weird question.
Peeling back the covers, I burrowed underneath them wondering if I had actually gone soft. I snorted at the thought, and quickly drifted to my subconscious.
A/N: Sorry that is super short, the obvious dilemma was school. Not sure when the next one will be out so just bear with me. And I'd like to welcome a new reader…hello person. Anyway, I'll be back and review please. Fun fact: Shadow's never said Sandy's government name to her face, cause in my head he doesn't want to as a means of annoying her; not of endearment.
