Much to Alice's happiness, Bella and I had agreed today would be a shopping day and we would all go out to dinner after.
She had still wanted to go to a club but I flat out refused, but Alice relented when I promised her we would go to a fancy restaurant and even dress up.
I guess shopping wouldn't be too bad as long as Alice didn't try to dress Bella like a doll...I did need to get Bailey and Grayson a present or two.
I also wanted to get something for my folks - I really appreciate them watching our kids.
Of course I wanted to get Bella somethings too, even though she would protest, but oh well.
We met the others in the main shopping district - I preferred to travel separately from them in case Alice or Emmett became too damn annoying.
Plus, it was easier that way when we were done shopping, Bella and I could just leave them if they weren't done.
They were standing there waiting for us as we walked up hand in hand with our coffee.
"It took you guys long enough," Emmett bellowed. "I'm hungry and they wouldn't let me eat till you got here."
"Sorry Emmy-bear, I needed my coffee," Bella said sweetly with a smile.
"I'll let it slide this time," he said.
"Thanks Emmy," she said with a laugh.
"Let's go people - tons of shops to see," Alice called out as she started walking up the street.
"I thought we were getting something to eat now," Emmett whined.
"You just ate breakfast you pig," Alice yelled back at him.
"Emmett, we'll stop and grab some pastries at that little shop when she goes in that store," I told him with a wink.
"Sweet bro," he said giving me a fist bump.
"It's cool, I'm kind of hungry too. Bella?"
"Yeah I could eat."
"She's going to be so pissed when she finds out we ditched her," Emmett said with a laugh.
"Yeah but she'll get over it."
We order some baklava and some coffee, and we sat down to eat it as my phone chimed as well as Emmett's.
"It's Alice, wanting to know where we are," I said with a laugh.
"Seriously? She is mental."
"I think so," I said as I finished eating. "We better get over there, before she blows a gasket or something."
"Yeah, no kidding, man."
We walked into the store, and ran right into Alice.
"Where were you guys?" she asked as she tapped her foot.
"Eating, some of us require food," Emmett said.
"Whatever," she said as she started walking and we followed her.
"This is going to be a long day," Bella said under her breath.
I squeezed her hand as we looked at the various items.
"What do you think Bailey would like?" I asked Bella.
"I'm sure, she'll like anything you pick out," she said as she looked at some little dolls.
Bella held up a little doll with curly brown hair in a traditional Greek outfit - it was perfect for Bailey.
"That's perfect," I said. "What should we get for Grayson?"
For Grayson we found a wooden pull horse that he could roll around.
"Are we done in here?" Alice asked as we were paying for our items.
"I think so."
We followed her as she went in and out of various stores, it was crazy. I could see why Bella hated to go shopping with her.
I really wanted to find something for Bella but so far nothing had caught my eye.
"Let's go in here," Alice said eyeing a jewelry store.
Awesome, hopefully I'll find Bella something in here.
I walked around and looked at various pieces of jewelry before I settled on a blue abalone shell necklace and earring set.
"What do you think of this, baby?" I asked her wanting to make sure I get something she liked.
"Ooh.. I like it, it's very beautiful," she said with a smile.
"Good, I'm getting it for you."
"Okay."
"Really? No protest?"
"Nope," she said with a smile.
"Wow, I'm speechless."
"What? I know you would buy it anyway, so why fight it."
"So if I wanted to buy you more things, you wouldn't complain?" I asked with a smirk.

I couldn't help but laugh as I told the salesman that we'd take the necklace and earring set.
After we left that shop Alice finally agreed to stop for lunch at a little cafe.
We sat down and looked over the menu, Bella decided to get a greek salad, and I went with the lamb gyros and a side of fries.
Emmett ended up getting two gyros and some fries.
Alice, Jasper and Rosalie got some sort of sampler plate.
"Are you feeling okay, baby?" I asked as I looked over at Bella.
"Yeah just a little tired...might be all the shopping," she said with a wink.
"We can always skip out on the rest of the shopping," I said as I slid my hand along her thigh.
"Yeah, let's, I don't have anything else I want to get."
"Sounds good."
"Hey Alice, Bella and I are going to head back to the villa after lunch. We'll meet you guys for dinner later," I said.
"But Edward, we haven't even went to all the stores," she whined.
"I didn't say you couldn't go, you don't need Bella and I to hold your hand."
"We are supposed to spend time together," she huffed.
"And we did - but this is my vacation that I invited you on, not the Alice shopping show. We're tired of shopping - if you had an ounce of compassion in you you could look at everyone and see we're all tired of ping ponging in and out of stores," I told her with an angry glare.
"You don't own everyone, Edward. Maybe Bella wants to keep shopping or are you afraid she'll have fun if you let her out of your sight for one second. It's sick how much time you guys spend together," she yelled.
"Keep your fucking voice down, Alice. Bella is free to do what she wants, I don't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do. She never liked shopping and you damn well know this. We like spending time with each other, it's called being in love. If you didn't have this compulsion to shop all the time, maybe your marriage would be stronger. I know you have issues but Jasper and you need to reconnect, before its too late. Think about what I said and maybe we'll see you for dinner," I said as I stood up and took Bella's hand in mine.
We walked back to where we parked the car in silence.
I could see Bella was upset - she didn't like it when Alice went psycho.
I gave her hand a little squeeze before I help her into the car.
Once in the car, I took her hand in mine.
"Baby, it's fine. Alice needs to work on her issues, we are perfectly fine."
"I know, I just hate when she gets hateful and mean like that."
"Me too. She just has to learn that we love spending time together and we always will. Plus being on vacation isn't about shopping," I said.

I pulled up to the villa and got out.

"You're leaving now, Alice, Felix will see you to the airport," I told her icily.

"Got nothing better to - my villa is empty."
I felt so bad for him, but I knew that we needed be there to help.

"Thanks I know - I need to do some thinking about the next step," Jasper said.
He gave Bella's hand a squeeze before he let it go and we picked up our menu's.
We all looked over the menu and made our decisions. Rosalie and Bella got Souvlaki Kotopoulo with pilaf - leave it to Bella to get some kind of chicken. Emmett and I got lamb chops with fried potatoes and Jasper decided on a rabbit stew.
We tried some small talk but there was a clear awkwardness.
After we ate, we all said good night as we went our separate ways.

I switched the phone to speaker so we both could hear.
"How bad was Renata hurt, dad?" I asked.
"Broken arm, some cuts to her face and neck and a couple broken ribs."
"How about Emmett's house?"
"Half their house is gone, it was a bomb."
"Holy shit, does he know?" I asked.
"Not yet, called you first, I'll call him as soon as I hang up with you."
"Should we cut our trip short and come home?" I asked.
"There's no need for that."
"Dad, I really think we should come home," Bella said softly.
"I don't know what you can do."
"Okay, but when Emmett hears about his house I'm sure she'll want to come home too."
"You're probably right," he sighed. "Just don't let him do anything stupid."
"I'll keep him in line, dad."
"Watch over Rosalie too, she can't handle a lot of stress," he warned.
"We will."
"Okay, I will keep you posted and I'll call Emmett now," he said sounding sad.
"Thanks dad, we'll see you soon."
I laid down my phone and put my head in my hands as Bella put her hands on my back and rubbed circles on it.

"Okay, I'll call to rent us a private plan. Call Jasper and tell him that we are going home tonight."

"I know she is. I'll see you when you get here. Keep Rose calm and call Jasper," I said as I hung up.

I came in carrying our luggage and Bella had Rosalie in her arms, whispering words of comfort to her.
I dropped our bags and gave Emmett a quick hug.
"I'll make them pay, Emm. You have my word on it," I said to him.
"Thanks, man. I know you will."
"Are we ready to go?" Felix asked.
"Yeah, the plane should be gassed and ready when we get there."
I walked over and gave Rose a quick hug as I took Bella's hand, and kissed her forehead.
Felix and Santiago grabbed our luggage and took it to the SUV and we followed behind them.
"I promise we'll come back, love."
"I know," she said with a smile.
I helped her get in and then got in next to her.
"Did you call dad and tell him we were on our way home?" I asked Emmett.
"Jasper did."
"Okay, good."
It was quiet on the way to the airport, none of us knew what to say as we watched the sun rise.
Once there we quickly loaded our stuff on the plane and it wasn't long before we were taking off.
Bella leaned her head on my shoulder as soon as we took our seats.
I intertwined our fingers as the plane started to take off.
"Are you hungry, love?" I asked. "I had them stock the plane."
"A little bit."
"I'll have the flight attendant bring us some breakfast once we reach our cruising altitude," I said as I kissed her forehead.
"Thank you."
After we reached the proper altitude, the flight attendant started to bring around breakfast.
We ate quietly, still lost in thought.
"Edward, do you think that Caius is behind the attacks?" she asked softly.
"Yes, I don't know who else could do something this big."
"What are you gonna do?"
"I know that there will have to be some sort of retribution on our part," I said as I held her hand.
She looked worried. "Just promise me you'll be careful."
"Of course, love."
She smiled but I can still see the worry behind her eyes.
She leaned her head on my shoulder and I wrapped my arm around her.
I wasn't what I was going to do but I know I have to come up with something before Emmett goes off half cocked and ended up getting himself hurt or worse.
I will make Caius pay, but I will be careful and calculating in my approach.
"Edward, you got to let me be a part of the retribution," Emmett said coming to sit next me as Bella drifted off to sleep in my arms.
I laid her head gently in my lap as Emmett lifted her feet onto the seat for me.
"I don't know, Em, we'll see."
"Why Edward? I'm an asset to you," he said loudly.
"You are if you can control yourself."
"I can control myself. I want to be in on this, it was my house that was destroyed."
"I'm not deciding now."
Bella shifted in her sleep as I told Emmett to go back to his seat.
He stomped off to his seat and I looked down at Bella who was looking up at me.
"Are things okay?" she asked softly.
"Yeah, Emmett's just pouting."
"Oh."
"He wants in on the retribution, but he's such a loose cannon at times. I told him I'd think about it."
"You shouldn't have to decide now. Plus I know that Emmett wouldn't be in the right frame of mind to help much. His emotions would take over, you need level headed people around you. Not someone who is emotionally vested in this," she said softly.
I didn't know how to respond to her.
What she said was so spot on and true that I was amazed by her thought process.
"I.. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything."
"No, no, you are exactly right."
"I am," she said as she sat up.
"Yeah, baby."
She smiled beautifully at me as I kissed her forehead. "You always know what to say to me."
"I try."
"You always succeed."
She leaned over and kissed me," You'll know what to do, baby."
"You're my strength. I love you," I said softly.
"I love you too. How long till we get home?"
"Not to much longer."
"Okay," she said as she laid her head against my shoulder as I held her hand and rubbed circles on the back of it as my mind thought over my next move.
