A new Titan - chapter 28
"Lord Kronos, the demigods are planning to attack your ship."
"And how do you know this, Seth? You haven't been at Camp recently to know their plans." Kronos murmured.
"I was contacted by our spy within the Camp." Seth said.
"I shall be ready for them to come. Do not come to the ship for our scheduled meeting." Kronos ordered and Seth felt the presence retreating from his dream. He felt like he was hovering and had no body and he could see a plain.
Six figures that Seth recognised as the six elder gods stood facing three others, below a battle raged on a plain and he remembered the dream he had of this very battle starting. Now it seemed to be the end of the battle.
"This is your last chance, Kronos." Zeus said. "Stand down before we are forced to kill you."
"We will destroy thee!" Kronos roared. "Thee will die for trying to take my throne, we are Titans. The strongest fighters around and you are nothing but insects waiting to be crushed beneath us."
"Father, that's going a bit too far." One of the figures beside Kronos muttered.
"Theron," Hades acknowledged.
"Brother," The Titan nodded. "Are you still going to go through with this?" He twisted his trident round so that the butt of the weapon was pointing at them and a spike was visible.
"Our father does not deserve to rule over the earth. He is a tyrant and uses mortals for his own playthings." Zeus said.
"Brother," Poseidon said softly. "I don't want to have to send you to Tartarus."
"Too late," Theron said and charged. "For Othrys!" Poseidon and Hades met his charge and struck. Zeus and Hera attacked Kronos and Demeter and Hestia attacked the other Titan. Lightning struck around the peak of the mountain, illuminating the Titans' fortress.
The three fights raged around and the Titans were winning. Theron was using the winds to distract Poseidon and Hades to gain the upper hand. He was easily fending off the two gods and had managed to injure both of them. He gripped his weapon with two hands and snapped it in half, it morphed into two war glaives and he twisted them around him. "Now we can fight." He laughed and unleashed a barrage of attacks on the two gods, quickly beating them back. Kronos was laughing and taunting as he swung his Scythe at the two immortals trying to kill him. The other Titan wasn't faring to well and was being beaten back, his silver hair and eyes flashed dangerously as fire flew at him from Hestia and roots tangled around his feet. He found himself trapped by the roots twisting around his ankles. Demeter controlled the roots to wrap around his whole body and keep him in his place, they tightened and soon he couldn't move. Demeter fought the strength of the Titan as he tried to get out. He burst into golden dust as his strength failed him.
"Iapetus!" Theron yelled, "Uncle, no!" He turned to Demeter, ignoring Poseidon and Hades and attacked her fiercely leaving no time for her to defend. Soon he kicked her to the floor and readied himself to kill his sister when three points sprouted from his chest. Theron gasped and dropped his weapons as Poseidon withdrew his trident from his older brother's chest. Kronos was distracted from his fight as Theron slumped to the floor. He swung his Scythe round at Poseidon who jumped out of the way. The six children of Kronos converged on the remaining Titan and attacked as one. Kronos spun his Scythe in a circle and deflected most of the attacks. He struck out at Hera and cut her torso. Zeus fired electricity at him and Kronos' armour served as a conductor. Poseidon attacked his father and tried to get past his guard but Poseidon was kicked back and fell to the floor. Kronos quickly swung his Scythe in an arc to take of the sea god's head. The blade was blocked by a war glaive.
Kronos narrowed his eyes at his son. "Thee would save your brother when he is a traitor to the Titans?"
"I have no choice," Theron muttered and stood between Kronos and his six siblings. "I've always wanted to see who would win in a fight to the death between us." He mused as he twirled his two war glaives around him.
"The Fates are forcing thee to do this, aren't they?" Kronos guessed at his son's nod he cursed. "They tricked us."
His son charged at the Titan Lord and the two Titans started fighting, the speed they struck at was so fast only the sounds of their blades were heard.
Seth woke up drenched in sweat. The dream replayed through his mind as he summoned his clothes from the shadows and readied his weapons. The year had passed quickly and it was almost time for Nico to go to Camp Half-Blood again. Nico had had a lot more training and Seth was confident that he could hold his own in a battle if he needed to.
More souls were escaping from the Underworld and Fos had still not been found. Seth was getting barely any sleep and when he did sleep that dream came back to him. He had never heard of a Titan named Theron before and according to his dream Theron was a child of Kronos. Seth planned to have a talk with Hades.
The God of The Dead was sitting on his throne and was surprised when Seth walked into the throne room. "Seth, what are you doing here? I thought you would be hunting down souls at the moment."
Seth realised that he had slept in and the Underworld was in full swung. "I want to speak with you. Do you know a Titan named Theron?"
"How did you hear of that name?" Hades asked after he recovered from his shock.
"I've been having a dream recently that keeps coming back to me. Is he real?" Seth asked curiously.
"Yes, there is a Titan named Theron. He is the elder son of Kronos and possibly the strongest Titan ever born."
"What about Kronos, I thought he was the strongest?"
"No," Hades shook his head. "He isn't. We barely met our brother but he saved Poseidon's life when my father tried to kill him."
"If he is a Titan what is he the Titan of?" Seth mused.
"He is the Titan of Elements, Monsters, Hunting and Fate."
"That is a lot of domains." Seth whistled.
"His domain of Fate is more of a title rather than actual powers. He can't control anyone or thing, that is something that only The Fates themselves can do." Hades explained.
"Where is he now, then? I dreamt that he turned on Kronos in the Titanomachy."
"That he did," Hades nodded. "But Zeus thought that despite him defeating our father, he would throw Theron into Tartarus. Poseidon and I have never really forgiven him for that, it's how we started to grow apart."
"So he is in Tartarus at this very moment?" Seth asked.
"Yes. And I hope he stays there, this war will be hard enough without him joining the Titans on their side. If he joins them, then we have no chance."
