Claw and Knife Chapter 5:Blood Thunder split the sky as vengeful cry's rang out in the night. It had been 3 days after Ash's talk with Delta and she was determined to keep him alive.

But that was hard when he insisted on being at every battle. Teeth meet scales and claws spilt blood as once again the deinonychus had crossed the border. Each battle they got more bolder than the last. Blood was running everywhere on this particular battle, In a normally peaceful field. But each time the enemy crossed the borders, or killed another raptor it was fuel on the fire. More and more hunters where volunteering for battle. 'Why is everyone such Idiots!' Ash thought as she ripped a nimble raptor to shreds. 'Why can't they just give up already!' "Ash! behind you!" Stream came bursting out of the sea of bodies and tackled a raptor that was ready to pounce on her. "Thanks!" Ash called back, she and stream had gotten closer than before as they took other raptors lives, It was easy for them because they hunted herbivores. Often they'd have to defend there kill. But ash had seen others break down because of a simple battle before, and she knew they didn't belong in the warriors group "So, how are pip, mare and tineye holding up?" Stream called over, as he battled two 1 meter tall raptors at once. "They're doing great!" Ash replied "But they keep asking if they can join me in a battle" Ash slid her claws down another enemies side, forcing him to fall over and bleed.
She hated the feeling of taking another raptors life, but she couldn't stop fighting, she had to help the pack. "Thats ironic they asked me the same thing" He leaped from one of the raptors and pinned the other, taking it's life quickly. Then he dodged the other raptor that was sneaking up behind him "Well i hope you said no!" Ash barely dodge a raptor's claws "Because i'd kill you if you brought them here!" "And i believe it!" Stream leaped over her and landed on her attackers back, digging the tow claw into it's neck and leaping off. "Of course i said no, i wouldn't want them to experience this" Both stream and ash stood for a moment, looking at the battle around them. As tall 6ft raptors clashed with there smaller cousins, screams and battle cry's filled the air. The scent of blood was so strong Ash wanted to stop breathing, and there was countless body's littering the ground, to many to count. "Look at this place" Ash said in despair "This is no place to show bravery, but instead mercy. Think of how many chicks will loose there parents in this battle." Ash breathed heavily hating herself for taking the lives of so many "That may
be so, But if we don't fight than think of how many chicks in our pack will be lost?" Stream said, looking up at the sky as the rain started to ease. "It just seams like a circle of blood doesn't it?" Ash nodded in agreement as a mighty cry went up from the remaining utahraptors. Ash looked around eagerly for the Alpha, but Delta was no where to be found in the crowed of boasting raptors. "Ash!" A raptor Ash had never seen before came running up the hill "Ash! it's Delta!" Realization dawned on her as ash raced down the hill after the young hunter. There she found Delta's body laying in the grass, His eyes glazed and scratches where a deinonychus had mauled him still lay blood slowly oozing from the cuts. The warriors around them suddenly saw there leader on the ground, and a cry, not a
victory cry. But rather a cry of despair escaped there snouts. 'If there was every a time for motivation, now would be it' Ash thought, not wanting to recognize that she was now the Alpha of the pack. Stream rushed down the small hill and stood beside her, Placing his snout on her head as a sign of respect. "They've sent a message" Ash said, forcing stream off her head "There telling us that we can be hit at any time and any place, But we'll send them a message." Ash looked over the crowed of raptors. "That we're not going to sit back and let them destroy us!" Ash felt her face bolden, and suddenly she was standing up straighter. 'It's funny
how easy it is to be brave.' Ash thought to herself, as her emotions inside her screamed in protest. Half of her was sad, and the other half was outraged. Ash looked into the sky, to see that most of the rain clouds had dissipated and the only thing left was a blue sky 'How can it be blue in a time like this?' Ash thought 'How can the world be so cruel?' Eric's POV After finally fashioning a spear from a new bamboo stick, Eric was starving. He and finally run out of supplies and was beginning
to wonder why he was out on this island in the first place. Wandering the area with his spear Eric found it easy to find and pick off small birds or other animals, skinning and eating however was another task all together. More than once had his dinner been interrupted by hungry animals. More than once he fended them off. "I just want to eat this in peace!" Eric should at some rustling bushes, which fell silent as the screamed at it. Eric, though tired. Began eating the newly cooked food, the taste evaded his mind as he felt his stomach sigh in relief. Being stranded on a island full of dinosaurs wasn't his idea of fun. After his dinner Eric climbed up a tree and tied down his bag and sleeping gear, then he stared at the stars and let the gentle sounds of the forest rock him to sleep. AN: Well, i did want to give a update on Eric, but i'm stumped for ideas. As you can probably tell, i plowed through a lot of stuff in this page Enjoy and review!~3
