The Eldest Child Of Kronos - chapter 32

Percy shot up and banged his head on somebody's shield. "Ow!"

"Sorry, Percy," Annabeth said. "I was about to wake you."

Percy's dreams came back to him and his eyes widened.

"Percy? What's wrong?"

"Nothing, what – what are you doing in armour? You can't be fighting, you should be resting."

"I'm fine," Annabeth said. "That nectar and ambrosia fixed me up."

"No, you can't go out and fight."

"You're going to need every person you have, I just looked in my shield. There's an army-"

"Heading south into Central Park? Yeah, I know." Percy told her the dream about Kronos.

"Do you think Ethan know where your weak spot is?"

"I don't know. He didn't tell Kronos, but if he figures it out-"

"We can't let him."

"I'll hit him harder on the head next time, any idea what surprise the Titan was talking about?"

"I didn't see anything, but I don't like surprises. Your dream, it was almost like it wasn't Kronos in charge of the army but the other Titan."

"Agreed," Percy muttered.

"So, are you going to argue about me joining you?"

"No, you'd just beat me up." Percy said grabbing his sword and Annabeth laughed. "Let's go rally the troops."

Thalia and the counsellors were waiting for them at the reservoir. It was night and streetlamps glowed around the shore making the water and trees eerie.

"They're coming, one of my scouts reported they've crossed the Harlem River. There is no way to hold them back, the army's huge, Percy." Thalia commented.

"We'll hold them at the park, Grover, you ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be, if my nature spirits can stop them at all, this'll be it."

"Yes, we will!" Another satyr said stumbling forward.

"Leneus?" Percy asked.

"Don't act to surprised, I am the leader of the council and you told me to find Grover. I've found him, and I'm not going to let him lead the satyr's alone. Don't fear, we'll show the Titans."

"Yeah," Percy said, "Grover, you won't be alone. Annabeth and the Athena cabin will make their stand here. And me, Thalia?"

"You don't need to say any more. The Hunters are always ready."

"That gives the rest of you a job just as important," Percy said raising his voice so everyone could hear. "You have to guard the other entrances to Manhattan. You know how cunning Kronos is, he'll try to distract us with this big army, but sneak another force in somewhere. Your job is to make sure that doesn't happen, has each cabin chosen an entrance?"

The counsellors all nodded.

"Then let's do this, happy hunting, everybody." The ADHD part of Percy thought that was ironic, they were apparently facing up against the Titan of Hunting.

The noise of the army was heard before any movement was seen. It was like hundreds of cannons going off at once. At the north end of the reservoir the enemy vanguard broke through the woods. Two warriors in golden armour leading a battalion of Laistrygonian giants, hundreds of other monsters followed them.

"Positions!" Annabeth yelled and the demigods immediately scrambled to start their plan, to get the enemy to break around the reservoir. The plan worked at first, halfway across the trail the defences started. Greek fire erupted along the trail, dissolving many monsters instantly. Athena campers managed the get giants onto the ground using grappling hooks. In the woods the Hunters opened fire and destroyed dozens of monsters at once. Grover called for the nature spirits and they all sprouted from trees and bushes. Trees reached down and grabbed monsters, grass grew up and stones flew.

Yet, still the enemy approached. Giants smashed trees to splinters, Hellhound ripped at the Hunt's wolves and Hunters fell from the branches as the enemy returned fire.

"Percy!" Annabeth grabbed his arm and pointed at the reservoir. The two Titans were approaching over the water and closing in on them demigods rapidly. A Greek fire bomb exploded near then and the tallest one sucked the flames from the air.

"Hyperion, the Titan of Light, Titan of the East." Annabeth said.

"Bad?" Percy asked as he watched them.

"Next to Atlas he's the greatest Titan warrior. Four Titans controlled the four corners of the world. Hyperion was the east and the most powerful." She explained.

"I'll keep them busy." Percy explained.

"Percy, against two Titans? You have no chance!"

"Just keep our forces together." Percy said as he advanced towards the two Titans. When Percy got within thirty metres to the Titans he could hear their argument.

"Let me kill the sea spawn," Hyperion complained loudly.

"No," The smaller Titan stated. "Your job is with the army, uncle."

"Nephew, I can beat him and get revenge for Iapetus and Atlas."

"Firstly, Iapetus is fine where he is, we can retrieve him from the Underworld after the war. And Secondly, Hyperion, do you really want to disobey my orders? I can take it up with my father if I have to." The Titan threatened, the water at his feet was swirling angrily.

"As you wish, Theron," Hyperion spat. "I will defend the army." He said and charged off to the satyrs and nature spirits intending to release his anger out on them.

"I feel flattered that you two were fighting over me, but I doubt you could kill me." Percy called.

"Feeling cocky today, Jackson?" Theron asked as a gold, black, and red Trident formed in his right hand, it looked like an evil version of Poseidon's Trident, Percy noted the modified butt of the Trident, a short but curved spike was attached to the butt.

"It's not cockiness if I know my own strengths and weaknesses."

"I'm not sure you know who you're about to fight, nephew, despite your eavesdropping." Theron said. "I held off Poseidon and Hades, my younger brothers and still had the strength after to defeat my father."

Percy felt slightly less confident but didn't let it show. "I defeated Ares, stood toe-to-toe with Atlas and defeated Iapetus. You will be no different - you Titans are about as bright as gym socks."

"I'll show you bright," Theron growled as his face twisted in rage. A sudden light shone in front of Percy as the Titan started to take his true form. Percy shielded his eyes from the glow and on instinct swung Riptide in front of him, knocking away a three-pronged stab at his chest. The impact jarred his shoulder and he moved back a half step from the strength behind that one thrust. The light stopped suddenly and Percy opened his eyes only to dive to the side as another stab was directed at him.

Annabeth and the Athena cabin were helping the nature spirits as much as possible with Hyperion as dozens of trees and bushes were already burnt to ashes. The Titan was unhesitatingly swinging his sword at anything in his way, be it monsters or demigods. They were trying desperately to stop the Titan from destroying everything he could reach but he sliced through it all like a hot knife through butter. Percy dodged a swipe at his face by the butt of Theron's Trident. He knew it wouldn't get past his invulnerable skin, but Percy figured it wouldn't feel very good to have a Titan at full strength hit him - he'd probably be sent flying. Theron stabbed at Percy again and this time the demigod deflected the attack to the side, following up with a slash at the Titan's chest. Percy expected Riptide's sharp edge to shear through the chest plate, but was surprised when it just clanged off it.

"There are several advantages to being the Titan of Monsters, Percy Jackson," Theron laughed as he twirled the war glaives around his wrists and Percy swallowed nervously, Theron's power rolled off him in waves. "And in case you're wondering, my power over Time was inherited from my father, Kronos. One of his children had to receive it, didn't they? And as I'm the oldest, the ability falls to me. I have very little control compared to Kronos himself, but enough."

Percy concentrated and pointed with Riptide; a stream of water rose up and shot towards the Titan. As the water neared Theron Percy felt it wrenched from his control and the stream curled around the Titan, speeding back to smash into Percy who stumbled.

"You want to play the power game?" Theron asked and the water beneath Percy grabbed him and pulled the son of Poseidon under. Percy floundered for a moment as he tried to get his bearings. Theron was watching his amusedly as he swiped a war glaive through the air and a wave of water shot towards Percy, sending him swimming back. When Percy turned to face Theron again he saw a Hydra facing him and started swimming backwards. The Hydra advanced towards him with its five heads glaring at Percy. Percy slashed through the water with Riptide and a whip of water cut the Hydra across the middle face. Theron's middle head began to pour green smoke from its nostrils and Percy immediately lifted up on a geyser as Greek fire shot towards where he was previously standing.

"I need Greek fire," he yelled at the campers and several jars were thrown at the son of Poseidon who stopped them with a water wall. He picked one up and dived under the surface towards one of the heads which he quickly cut off and threw the Greek fire whilst cutting off another. The Greek fire spread down the Hydra rapidly as Percy cut off the heads which were trying to snap at him, but he was such a small target that Theron kept missing. The Hydra's blood was ichor, showing that it was just Theron in a different form. Eventually, Theron suddenly shifted back to his normal form with the Greek fire still raging around them and charged at Percy, landing an uppercut to the son of Poseidon's chest. Percy was sent flying out of the lake and landed on his back in the demigods' side of Central Park as the air was knocked out of him. Theron stalked out of the lake after him and was completely dry.

"I am a Titan!" Hyperion yelled and Theron immediately looked at his uncle when he heard the anger in his voice, only to see the satyrs playing tunes as a tree grew up around Hyperion's body and encased him completely in bark.

"Uncle!" Theron yelled and moved to help Hyperion but Percy stopped him and managed to cut a weaker section of the Titan's armour.

The eldest son of Kronos turned to face Percy with his eyes aflame. "We are Titans, Jackson. The true rulers of Gaia," Theron's voice was cold. "And we will not be defeated by mere mortals!" The nature spirits and Athena campers were making their way over to the fight, most of the monsters were destroyed. Theron turned his head to Annabeth and raised his hand. Annabeth rose into the air, higher and higher until she would die from the fall.

Percy made to charge at the Titan but Theron quickly said, "You move and she dies." His expression was cold but Percy could feel that he was lying so ran at Theron. The Titan released Annabeth and she started falling. Percy was fuelled by rage and attacked the Titan as the Athena cabin waited for an opening. Percy ducked under a war glaive and blocked the other with his left hand, wincing at the impact. With a yell he stabbed Riptide into Titan's shoulder, expecting the blade to just clang off the golden armour so was surprised when the bronze lade tore through it like paper and stuck in Theron's bone. Theron's eyes widened in shock and his eyes hardened, they glowed in rage as he focused his full anger of Percy, who managed to stand his ground. Annabeth landed in the lake with a splash. Percy attacked, concentrating on the water and the power boost it gave him. Percy quickly found himself beating Theron back towards the edge of the water as he cut and hacked.

"Percy, how are you doing that?" Malcolm asked in awe.

"Doing what?" Percy muttered as he looked at himself. He was in the middle of his own personal hurricane. Theron was being beaten back whenever he tried to get close and kept losing his footing. Whenever Percy attacked Theron stumbled.

"Enough!" the Titan roared. "I am the son of Kronos, a Titan! I will not be toyed with!" Theron yelled and a wave of pure force spread out from his in all directions, flattening everything and blasting the lake from the river bed. Anything and everything in a twenty metre radius was sent flying. Theron started stalking towards Percy who was struggling to get up then stopped and his head cocked to the side. After a few seconds he growled and glared at all the demigods.

"Alas, I cannot kill him today. I have been ordered against it. But beware, demigods. You have made an enemy of me today for killing my uncle." Theron said then transformed into a griffin in front of the demigods and soared into the sky away from Central Park.

"Who was that?" Malcolm asked as Percy dived into the lake to get Annabeth. The campers muttered amongst themselves as Percy carefully helped Annabeth to the shore.

"Percy, who was that?" Malcolm repeated.

"A Titan," Percy said shortly trying to get all of the water out of Annabeth, "Called Theron. He is the oldest son of Kronos and Rhea, he used to be Seth." All the campers started shouting as Annabeth sat up.

I would like a good name for Theron's spear/trident hybrid. It can be in Greek, or English. Preferably something that a Titan would have named his weapon, not something like 'Rainbow' or 'Sunflower' please. That would be stupid.

Please tell me if i just ruined my story or made it better, either way i would like to know.

Seth's (or should i just call him Theron)relationship poll:

Styx wins!

Now i've got to work out how they'll meet (and their history). And i'm not very good at romance so you'll have to be patient with me.

I have about eight chapters left

Should i go straight into HOO or do a story (prequel) about the Titanomachy?

I have started my Percy Jackson Teen Wolf xover so if you could just take a look at it if you are interested in that.
