Chapter 6: Voids
AB: I seem to have placed this time zone around 30 years after the Jurrasic Park incident. Sorry for any confusion with dates. But the current year for all this is based in 2014. Which is really 24 years ago. So as you can see. raptors have a accurate prediction of time. sort of.
;Eric's POV;
Eric lay in one of the many trees dotting this area on the island, Both he and the young girl who confirmed her name as Sara. from what Eric could tell Sara was the girl used to experiment with the serum. only problem for him was she doesn't remember the ordeal. Eric had tied the sleeping bag to a sturdy branch and told her to get some rest, Though he was tired himself, he couldn't take his mind of the strange creature he met inside the building.
Pulling out his flashlight Eric flicked it on and dug into his bag for the journal, then flipped open to the page where he left off.
;July 11, 1992;
The test resulted in a giant success, we are still testing the abilities if the young girl who we chose. Upon injecting the serum. it took effect immediately initially, we assume she was going to suffer the effects from the toxin, But she calmed down shortly after. She appeared to suffer memory loss but we predict that it was a problem with an condition before injecting the serum. We have put her through various tests and found she is quite agile given the opportunity, as such she appears to be able to understand the troodons. We do not know how this came to be but our best guess is the serum contained DNA of the Troodon inside it. her own DNA was twisted around to meet the new additions. As such she carries particular behaviours. Feasting on meat, incredible vision in the night, and most impressively a accurate mimic of dinosaur calls.
"Watcha reading?" Sara popped up beside Eric and peered down at the journal.
"Uh! I thought you were asleep?" Eric glared at her, None the less he showed her the book, Half expecting her to flip out.
"Soo? what do all these squiggles mean?" she said pointing in the general direction of the body of text. Eric drew up his eyebrow and looked at her in concern.
"There letters, and a string of letters forms a word. Thats how humans communicate and write" Eric tried to explain words as best he could. But found it very difficult.
"Well it all looks like a bunch of gibberish to me." she replied and leaned back against the tree. She Idly began to trace the stars in the sky with her finger.
"Ya know, sometimes i like to imagine i'm one of them" She said playfully. As she continued to trace the sky with her finger. "It kinda justifies everything they've doneā¦" She stopped tracing the sky and looked over to Eric.
"I guess that makes sense." He said. looking up from his study. According to this journal this girl had amazing Eric felt a tremor shake the earth, birds nearby got startled and flew off as another one shook the leaves of the trees around them.
"Quick! Start packed the gear up" Eric leaped up from his spot, dropping his flashlight in the process and cursed silently.
A roar ripped through the forest as Sara shoved the ropes and sleeping bag into his camouflage backpack. Eric dropped the book inside then zipped up the bag as the tremor pounded harder and faster. Growing louder with each step.
Eric swung the rifle around and looked down at the ground. ON the ground near the flashlight a giant head loomed over it, Nearly blocking the beam of light. He and sara breathed silently as it sniffed the flashlight and slowly lifted it's head up to stare at them.
Eric saw the glazed eye with a small trickle of blood running down from it. And immediately Brought his rifle around, Taking aim around the same spot that he shot before. But instead of letting the round fly, He crouched there. Mind wandering and Sara breathing quietly he knew what to do.
The rex's head turned as it tried to sniff something behind it. And thats when Eric squeezed the trigger. With a flash of light the bullet met it's mark with the T-Rex's good eye, Making it roar in pain. with the rex now blind Eric swung the rifle across his shoulder. And threw on his bag, Looking for the nearest possible exit
"This way!" Eric leaped from the branch he was on and slammed himself into the nearest tree over. After which the rex looked around and began to follow him, A idea slowly formed into Erics head as sara landed next to him.
Eric reached into his bag and pulled out a empty waterbottle. Then tossed it out into the woods. As the bottle hit the ground the rex looked up and began stomping towards where the sound was registered.
"Ok, now it's just a matter of staying to quiet for him to hear." Eric lowered himself down onto the ground then turned to see Sara standing in front of him, A determined look on her face. They both began silently moving off into the night, as the T-Rex tore apart the shrubs trying to find a water bottle behind them.
AN: small update, took a while to get through it but you know. Writing can't be rushed.
