Hi, guys! Here is our new chapter and I hope you like this chapter as much as I liked writting it. This chapter will be a little dark and dramatic, but the end will be worth of it. At least it is what I think.
To opheliafrump; I could leave your question without answer and make you even more curious, but I won't... so... No! She doesn't work for the "home office". See you! And I'm so so sorry for the delay and I missed your PM's. Please, don't stop with it.
To CCangel; Whoa, you're going to find out soon! And yes... it is going to work :) unfortunately, Regina is a little stubborn. See ya!
To EvilRegalTwinnies; Cora? you're going to find out too! See you and I hope you enjoy this chapter ;)
To Anarra; Thank you so much! I love to hear my readers' reviews ;) Here is your update, I'm sorry for the delay.
To Lyuthia; haha Thank you so much, Angie! They needed to get back... you know that they won't leave her get back for nothing. About the fluff haha You're going to have a little of it now, but in the next chapter you are going to be overwhelmed with their love, believe me. Spoiler everywhere! haha I feel like I spoil you. Kisses, thank you for reviewing me, it is very important to me.
Te vejo no próximo capítulo. Beijos ;*
Grande beijo! Espero que goste desse capítulo.
To md88; WHoa, so get it! I do hope you like this chapter and I love you're addicted to my fanfiction! haha ;) see ya
To Grace; OMG I loved your review... I was sleeping when my phone rang and I saw your message. It made me smile so hard, you have no idea. In the next day I showed your reviews to my friends... thank you so so so much!
To anapcmesquita; maybe you should give Cora a little of faith. haha Or maybe not. About me... Você sabe que eu também te amo, né? não preciso ficar falando isso... você sabe! E eu definitivamente sei que vc me ama, sei como vc se sente e não se preocupe. Tudo tem mesmo um propósito. À propósito... eu li a última parte cantando... LINDA MÚSICA. Ele sempre vem ao meu alcance e resgate, eu sei disso todos os dias. Quando acordo, quando respiro, quando chego na faculdade e vejo a amiga que Ele me deu...
To Kristy; Thank you so much for helping me in this way! You're amazing!
Enjoy!
CHAPTER 35 – THREATS
"Regina?" The man whispered as he entered the mine. "Regina? Where are you?"
When he finally managed to catch sight of the cage in the corner of the mine, he saw the woman he was looking for. It was hard to see, the place was very dark, but he was sure it was her. Moreover, there was a little and insistent light from the place where the women were, but he could not identify what it was.
"Regina what are you doing?" David asked approaching the two women.
He just wanted to take Regina from the clutches of this terrible and heartless witch who was her mother. He knew she was vulnerable, so he could not let Cora do anything to her. Archie would be devastated, more than he already was.
"Don't come near me," Regina said with a voice full of anger.
"What?" The man frowned in confusion. She would not talk to him like this, not anymore.
"I trusted you and you cheated me." She growled. "You and your precious Snow White!" She said the last words with disdain and a disgust that he knew she had no more, but now, it was all he could hear in her voice.
"Regina, what are you talking about? I came to get you out... you shouldn't be here."
"Now what? Prince Charming wants to help the Evil Queen?" She said with disdain and anger. "You fooled me once, but it will not happen again, no one will take my daughters from me, not even you."
"What are you talking about? No one came to take your daughters, Regina." The man was quick to answer.
"Regina, you should go, they don't want you to get hurt." Cora interrupted.
Both David and Regina looked at Cora in astonishment. David knew that this woman was dangerous and he did not trust her. She had no heart and she could not change. Regina was scared, but she had to stand firm. She was a queen and queens can't be weak.
"Don't talk to her!" The man shouted to the woman inside the cell.
"Don't you talk to me!" Regina fumed.
"Please, Regina, you have to protect your girls and here is not the place for them." Cora said.
David looked at her with disgust. He could feel that the woman was lying. The smile that Cora gave to Regina was nothing compared to the smile that a mother gives to her daughter. There was malice, deceit and lust for power, he was sure. He was also sure that Regina was blind enough to not realize that.
"Enough!" The man approached Regina, wrapped a hand around her arm and began to pull the woman.
Regina was squirming in his grasp. He was not hurting her, but he had no right to take her from here. She did not want to leave. David saw the anger in her eyes. The same hatred that was there at the time of the Enchanted Forest. The same cold stare when the woman had heard the name of his wife. That look was scary and if David was not sure that Regina could not use magic, he would think twice before touching her.
"Let me go!" She cried, squirming to get out of the grip. "Get your hands off me... You're hurting me." She said and began to cry. The cold and hate-filled look from seconds ago had been transformed into a gaze full of fear and confusion. "Why are you doing this?"
"Regina!" The man shouted to get the woman's attention. "Stop shouting. You don't understand what is happening here."
"I'm not Regina, for you I am Your Majesty." She replied.
"Ok, your Majesty. Greg and Tamara are at the entrance of this mine and they want you and your babies. They are armed and they are angry. My daughter and my wife are out there. They are there to protect you, so stop being grumpy and stubborn and let me help you."
The man was extremely irritated with Regina's stubbornness. He could keep yelling at her, but Regina's terrified look made him stop.
"They are here?" She whispered, her voice cracking with surprise and fear.
"Yes, they are... Now you will cooperate with me if you want to get out of here." He said, looking into her eyes as he gained all her attention.
"But..." She started to speak, insecurity appearing in all her features. "How do I know you're not with them? How do I know you will not hurt me too? You lied to me, all of you..."
"You need to trust me, Regina." The man said, giving a slight squeeze on her arm in an attempt to reassure and give her a bit of confidence.
They began to walk out of the mine only to find the situation as tense as before. David saw that they were still in the same position, but the anger on everyone's face was almost tangible. And now, Mr. Gold was there too.
The pain in Regina's head was getting worse. She did not know if it was because of the crying, the events of the recent weeks, the memories she recovered, confusion she was feeling or the fact that everything was a mess, she was scared and had no idea who to trust.
Their eyes widened when the group saw David coming up with Regina right behind him. The conflict between them was so heated that no one had realized that David was missing. The couple followed the gaze and saw the object of their mission.
"Regina, my love. Are you okay?" Archie forgot the gunpoint and made his way towards Regina.
Everything happened very fast. The red-haired man was running in the crossfire. Something like "I told you to stay where you were" was heard before screams and the sound of a shot piercing the silence of the night ended with the silent battle.
When everything seemed to calm down, Regina managed to notice the situation around her. Mr. Gold was creating an invisible barrier in front of Archie. Archie was paralyzed and pale. He was looking horrified for a bullet that had just fallen at his feet. Snow had the gun pointed directly at Tamara's face.
And, then, Greg had somehow managed to get to Regina in the middle of the mess and was pointing a gun directly at her head. He was screaming frantically until all were able to focus their attention on him.
"Everybody. Drop your guns or I'll kill her!"
Regina was paralyzed.
"Enough of this!" Emma said irritated when she raised her hands and in a matter of seconds Greg and Tamara were trapped in the air.
Greg's gun fell at Regina's feet. The two were fighting for breath as Emma had her eyes darkened by a fury that no one had ever seen so far.
Regina looked at the situation and her eyes widened even more with fear. She did not know that Emma had magic and it was getting even more confusing. Her head was hurting and she was scared as hell.
"Who are you?" Regina asked scared, looking at the woman choking the two people in the air. She did not remember Emma. She had not appeared in any of her memories.
It would be easy to say that everything was a mess. Actually, it was much worse than that, it all boiled down to one word: chaos.
They all were alternating their attention between Emma's magic and the couple suffocating in the air. Nobody saw the conflict in Regina's face and much less her taking the gun that had fallen at her feet.
"Emma..." Snow shouted. "Stop it, Emma. You'll kill them!"
"That's exactly what is going to happen." Emma replied, her voice full of hatred.
"Please..." A whisper was heard amid the tense moment, a whisper that would have gone unnoticed if David had not been so close to Regina.
The brunette had a gun in one of her trembling hands and the other hand was rubbing the side of her head, while her brow was furrowed in pain.
"Make the pain stop..." She whispered again.
"Regina?" David heard and started walking toward the woman, but he stopped when she pointed the gun at him.
"Don't come near me." She cried out in despair, her hands were clearly shaking.
At this time, the attention turned to Regina. Only Emma continued lost in thought, concentrating on her magic and willing to do those two people trapped in the air to pay for all the chaos and pain they had caused.
"Regina..." Archie called, turning to walk toward her.
"Don't come closer! You're with her." Regina pointed the gun at Archie, but her eyes were on Emma.
Then, Snow realized what was happening. Regina was afraid of Emma.
"Emma, stop it." Snow ordered, placing one of her hands on her daughter's shoulder. Unfortunately, Emma seemed not to hear. "Emma!"
"I'm not done with them." The blonde answered.
"And you will not finish, stop it." Snow insisted.
"No!"
"Emma, you're scaring Regina, stop it right now!"
"I told you that I'm not done with them!" The blonde yelled and without realizing it, she pushed her mother away from her.
"Gold, do something!" Snow shouted.
"Enough of this." Mr. Gold lifted one of his hands and they all watched as the couple fell unconscious on the ground.
It took less than a second for Mr. Gold to interfere in Emma's magic and she only realized this after she had lost complete control over the couple. She was furious.
"What the fuck?" She shouted at Mr. Gold.
"Enough with that. We have another problem to solve now, Miss Swan, and you're only making things worse." Mr. Gold said and only then Emma looked around her.
She saw Regina holding a gun. Her face was contorted in what seemed to be confusion, but then she realized that the brunette was in pain. Some kind of pain in her head because she kept rubbing her temple and frowning.
David, Snow and Archie were close to her, saying something that Emma could not understand what it was. Mr. Gold was a few yards away, near to the two unconscious bodies on the floor.
Emma did not know what to do. She did not know if she ran to Mr. Gold and discovered what they should do with the two or if she ran to Regina to try to explain what happened. She could not help but notice the startled look that Regina was giving her.
As if Mr. Gold was reading Emma's mind, he turned to her and said, "I'll take care of them." and before she could blink again, a smoke enveloped his body along with the two bodies on the ground and they are gone.
Emma then turned her attention and joined the group that was trying to talk to Regina.
"Please, Regina, put the gun down." David asked for the umpteenth time, his hands were raised in surrender.
"I already told you to not come near." She yelled back. The gun was visibly shaking in her hands while she tried to keep it pointed at the four adults in front of her.
"Regina, please... let's talk." Archie began talking and walking toward her. "Let me take you home-"
"Shut up, bug!" She replied in a voice filled with anger and hurt. Her eyes were like the Evil Queen's eyes. Eyes that Archie didn't remember how they used to be.
"Regina." Snow tried.
"Snow White, what are you doing here?" She said with disgust. "Do you really think I'm stupid?" She asked in a voice bordering on hysteria.
"What are you talking about, Regina?" Archie asked confused.
Emma was intently watching the scene. Regina was aiming her gun wildly and Emma was afraid that Regina would pull the trigger unintentionally. She knew well enough that a single movement of her hand and the gun would be flying away. She considered this option, but chose not to do magic near Regina who was clearly altered.
"You want to take my daughters from me. That's why you took care of me." She explained.
"What?" The four opened their mouth in confusion.
"What are you talking about, Regina?" Archie asked.
"I believed in all of you." She said as tears fill her eyes again. "I believed in you." And at this time she was looking straight into Archie's eyes. The hurt was so present that it could almost be felt.
"And you can believe me, we're not here to hurt you, much less take the girls from you, they are ours." Archie said.
Regina remembered who he was in the Enchanted Forest. The disgusting Jiminy Cricket, but here, now, she remembered the last days she spent with him. He was kind, loving, caring. While he was shy, he was fun. When he looked at her, all she could see was love. These two memories were dancing in her mind, making everything more confusing, more painful. The sense of betrayal was so touched.
"LIE!" Regina shouted. "You're lying. You all are just lying." She was openly crying and the sobbing could be heard by all. "I believed you. I thought you loved me, but-"
"And I love you. I do, Regina. I love you so much. You have no idea of how much I do." Archie tried to argue.
"Bug! You will not fool me, none of you!" Regina said angrily.
The pain in her head was becoming unbearable.
"Regina, you need to put this gun down, you may end up hurting someone or yourself." Snow got a little close as she spoke in a voice so delicate that angered Regina.
"Since when does Snow White care about the Evil Queen?" Regina smiled through her tears. A fake smile and full of anger and hatred. "You never cared, why would you care now?"
"Regina, I know you don't remember what happened in this new land and what happened in the last few months, but I do care about you. I care about you, I always have."
"No, you never cared. You didn't care when you destroyed my life, when you told my mother about Daniel. You didn't care when I had to marry a man I didn't love, just because you wanted a mother. You didn't care when you heard me screaming in the middle of the night, begging him to stop." She shot and her words cut Snow's heart. She had never stopped to think that way. She had never noticed.
David, Emma and Archie widened their eyes in shock. They never knew that, not in this way and hear it that way from the woman who seemed to be falling apart in front of them was painful. They felt disgusted and angry at the same time. Snow was looking glazed.
"Regina... I... I..." Snow tried to answer. Her eyes were already filled with tears, but the words just do not come out.
"You have nothing to talk about." Regina smiled victoriously, but even her smile was sad.
A new wave of pain, stronger now, reached Regina's head and this time she could not stay stable. She brought her hands up to her head in an attempt to stop the pain, but this move caused her to lose a bit of balance and she had to bend a little. Archie could not stand to see her in this state. He did not want to see her hurt or crying as she was. His heart ached to see the woman he loved suffering right in front of him and he could do nothing.
Enough. He decided to stop watching and start to act, ignoring all the risks. Regina's eyes were closed and she did not see him coming. When she opened her eyes again, he was too close. She widened her eyes frightened, but he wrapped her in a tight and safe hug, a hug that kept her from falling to the ground.
"Let me go!" She started screaming and thrashing in his arms, but he did not give up.
"Regina, love, please..." Archie began to whisper in her ear.
"Bug!" She tried again.
"You're hurting yourself, please stop!" Archie asked.
The other three watched as Regina stopped struggling in Archie's arms. Her body was shaking due to the cries and sobs. She was crying so loudly that they were sure that Cora could hear it.
One of Regina's hands were trapped between her body and Archie's arms. The other one was over his shoulder, holding a wavering gun. As the sobs began to increase and the crying began to subside, she began to slide to the floor. Archie never took his arms from her. The gun fell from her hand, causing a small noise when it meets the ground, but neither of the two could perceive. Emma and Snow relaxed visibly, while David came to pick up the gun.
"Shhhhh! It's alright, it's alright... I promise!" Archie said rubbing circles on her back.
"I don't want to be the Evil Queen." She said between sobs muffled.
"You're not her anymore..." He said.
"So who am I? I don't remember who I am, Archie."
"We'll find a way to bring your memories back, I'll find a way."
"It's all messed up..." She turned to cry much louder than before.
"I know, baby-"
"My head hurts."
"I know... you need to rest. You went through a lot today."
"I want my daughters, please, I promise I will not hurt them, I promise."
"I know you will not."
She pulled her head from his neck and looked deeply into his eyes.
"So don't take them from me, please. I'll be good, I promise."
Her gaze broke. She was vulnerable, sad and her eyes were full of fear.
"They are yours, Regina. No one will take them from you."
"But Claire said you-"
"Claire?"
"What did she say?" Emma got into the conversation, talking with a little more anger than necessary.
"She said you will take them from me. She said you only take care of me... because you are afraid that I would hurt them, but I won't, I promise."
"That bitch!" Emma screamed and scared everyone around her, including Regina, who sank further into Archie's arms. "Sorry."
"She doesn't know what she is talking. Nobody will take them from you, I'll not allow that." Archie whispered in her ears.
"You promise?" She asked with a tearful and childish voice.
"I promise."
When she met his eyes, she saw nothing but love. The same love she had felt when she first met him. The same love that flowed from his voice when he spoke to her, or when he hugged her, or when he spoke with their girls. The same love that shone in his eyes as he kissed her belly and when he felt the movements over his hand.
She came back crying again. She was hurt. She wanted so much to believe in this love that his eyes were showing her, because she felt the same. Her heart jumped when she looked at his eyes, but she was afraid that this was all a lie.
How could she believe him and those people who were here? People who were loyal to Snow White, the woman she chased and promised to curse.
David and Snow were embraced and watching the scene and Emma decided to withdraw a bit, dragging her parents along with her. They watched when Archie passed one of his hands wiping away the tears that stained Regina's face. The brunette was lost in his eyes, nothing else mattered. Archie approached and suddenly his lips touched Regina's.
So? I'm dying to know what you're thinking! Let me know, leave me reviews!
In the next... ta dan dan I won't tell you. What you think? Did true love's kiss work?
See you!
Kisses,
Bárbara ;*
