I don't own Harry Potter or Code Lyoko Evolution
Jeremy's blues
"'When I see you Aelita… my legs shake. By your side on Lyoko, it's a piece of cake."
Ulrich and William sent looks at each other, cringing. Odd wrote on the piece of paper he was holding.
"He wrote that for Aelita's birthday," said Ulrich. "Sorry, I couldn't do anything."
"It's not the best," said Harry. "Odd does have a strange way of putting things."
"But he tried," said Luna.
"And for me, Odd Della Robbia, you're sweeter than a piranha."
"Who's the piranha?" asked Aelita as she walked over.
"Well... Herb."
Harry laughed.
"That's a strong rhyme. Have you seen Jeremy?"
"He was still in our room when I left," said Harry.
Lab
Jeremy and Yumi hung up the happy birthday sign as the computer beeped. Running over to it, Jeremy quickly found the source. Luna and Sissi put down their decorations before joining them.
"Someone's trying to access the supercomputer's main memory!"
"So?" asked Yumi.
"It's ok. The firewall stopped the attempted intrusion."
"Do you think it was Tyron or Xana?"
"Neither of them."
"Where did it come from then?"
"From a hub lost in the digital sea. The hacker tried to mask the source but it was the work of an amateur."
"Or someone wanting us to think it was an amateur," said Harry as he made his presence known.
"That's strange," said Jeremy.
"What?" asked Yumi.
"An unusual datagram code! I know this encryption! It was developed by Franz Hopper!"
"But, why would uncle hack into the computer?" asked Harry. "He knows he can use it."
"I don't understand. Very few know this code. Apart from me, there's Aelita, Harry and maybe Aelita's mother."
"Do you really think this hacker could be Aelita's mother?" asked Yumi.
"Why not? It's her birthday today."
"It would be hard to find a better present for Aelita."
"It could be a trap," said Harry.
"Yeah, we're not sure of anything," agreed Jeremy. "I really don't want to give her false hope."
"So what do we do?" asked Yumi.
"Ask the others to come but don't say a word to Aelita."
Yumi pulled out her phone.
"Something's wrong," said Sissi.
Kadic
"Aelita, wait," called Ulrich as Aelita was just about to climb into the manhole.
"What is it?" asked Aelita.
"Actually… I need you to help me with my maths homework," answered William.
"Now?" asked Aelita.
"It can't wait," replied William.
"Ok."
The two moved away.
"But what's Jeremy's plan?" asked Odd. "Why does he want to see us without Aelita?"
Lab
"So we just have to go to the hub where the signal left to try and recover some info?" asked Ulrich as he tried to understand what Jeremy was saying. "Is that it?"
"Yes. Are you ready?"
"Well, yeah," said Odd. "But are you really sure you don't want to warn Aelita?"
"No! For now, we're leaving her out of all of this. Anyway, I's rather you get back to William Yumi. You never know."
Yumi nodded and left as Sissi and Luna continued to put up the decorations.
"So are we going to have this celebration or not?" asked Sissi. Everyone looked at her. "What?"
Lyoko
Odd and Ulrich ran towards the Skid.
"If it's true that her mom tried to get in contact with her, Aelita's gonna have the best birthday ever!" exclaimed Odd. "Better than my poem! It would be the best of the best!"
"That's for sure," agreed Ulrich. "'Aelita, you are as pretty as a chinchilla!' She'll love it!"
"You don't know the first thing about poetry! Speaking of Aelita, since she's not here, which one of us will pilot the Skid? Personally I think that I proved myself with the Skid but we can discuss it if you want."
"I don't think Odd is the best person to do it," said Harry.
"Jeremy, who gets the commands?" asked Ulrich.
"I don't know. You guys decide."
"Should we toss a coin?" asked Odd.
"Pick something else. I can't virtualise you a coin."
"How about rock paper scissors? One, two, three!" Ulrich chose rock as Odd chose scissors. "Best out of three, right? One, two, three."
Odd chose scissors while Ulrich chose paper.
"It's a tie! Next round it is!"
They eventually made a decision.
"By the way, who's driving?" asked Jeremy as they flew out of the garage.
"It's not me," muttered Odd. Ulrich laughed.
"Ulrich, as soon as you're in the digital sea, you head north… 45 degree 36."
"That works."
Kadic
"A product of a factor is null, if and only if one of the factors are null," explained Aelita. "But you already knew that, didn't you?"
"In theory yes, but in practice I'm lost."
"How are things?" asked Yumi as she sat down.
"A second degree equation," said Aelita.
"Ooh! Wait! This is too quick for me! Can't we go over the first degree equations?"
Aelita stared at her for a second then relented. "Ok, then we'll do those first."
Network
"At this rate, we'll never make it in time for Aelita's birthday," moaned Odd. "At least, not this year!"
"Jeremy? We shouldn't be too far from the hub now, right?" asked Ulrich, ignoring Odd.
"Not very far. Correct your direction to thirty degrees west and you should see it starboard, after the next block."
Ulrich followed his directions and approached the hub. "We're good. I'm approaching the entryway now."
"Ok, stabilise the Skid and connect yourself as soon as you're ready."
"We're good, we're getting in position." Ulrich hit a button and the Skid connected to the hub. "Ok, connected. Did you get the signal?"
"I've got it! The data has started downloading!"
"So what does that mean?" asked Odd. "Is it Aelita's mother?"
"It needs time to load. Be patient! Admire the view!"
"Well, let's see, it's already been an hour that I've admired the view!"
"Right, you, the poet, that should inspire you, right?" asked Ulrich.
"Says you! You're just an uncultured ass! Unable to tell the beautiful from the ugly…
"You can wait for a little while longer, can't you Odd?" asked Harry. "It's not like you're missing anything interesting."
A tentacle shot out from the hub and grabbed the Skid.
"Ulrich? Odd? What's happen?" asked Jeremy quickly.
"We were caught in pincers!"
"And I doubt I'll be able to get there in time," muttered Harry.
"Some type of pliers," continued Odd. "It's huge! The hub is attacking us!"
"I don't understand! I've never seen a hub with such a security system before! Disconnect yourselves, quickly!"
"It was a trap," said Harry.
"It's impossible," said Ulrich as he pressed buttons. "The commands aren't responding!"
A line of code shot across the screen and the holomap disappeared.
"This can't be happening. We've been tricked! Xana trapped us!"
"And the next thing on his to do list would be to destroy the Skid," said Harry.
"Jeremy, it's not working," called Odd. "Three sharks in front and two behind!"
"Sorry Odd, I can't do anything about that. I'm blind!"
"And if there's nothing he can do, there's nothing we can do," added Sissi.
"Very reassuring. Thanks Sissi."
"Free your Navskids," suggested Jeremy. "Try to counter their attacks."
Odd pressed the trigger. "I can't. It's blocked, even the torpedoes! Nothing's working!"
The sharks stared firing on them.
"Jeremy, we can't control anything here anymore! We won't last long," said a worried Ulrich.
"Ok, too bad for the Skid. I'm devirtualising you." Jeremy pressed a few buttons only for an error to turn up.
"What are you waiting for Jeremy?" asked Odd as a shark bit the Navskid. "Quick!"
"Odd, I can't' devirtualise you."
"What? Now's not the time to joke Einstein!"
"He's not joking Odd," said Harry as he shook his head.
"We don't really want to make the great plunge!"
"Why isn't it working?" muttered Jeremy as he pulled out his phone. "Yumi, I need Aelita! Quick! Odd and Ulrich have been trapped inside the Skid!"
Kadic
Jeremy put her phone down. "It was Jeremy."
"I knew you were hiding something from me," said Aelita as she put her pencil down.
Network
"Jeremy, the Skid's lost eighty percent of its protective shield! We won't last much longer!" called Ulrich.
"I can't devirtualise Odd and Ulrich," said Jeremy as Aelita, Yumi and William entered the lab.
"Where are they?" asked Aelita.
"In the Skid… made prisoners by a hub." Aelita took over. "I tried everything!"
The code returned to normal.
"The bumper…. How could I have not thought about this? You're great Aelita! Guys, we're bringing you home."
The two disappeared from the Skid as it exploded.
Lab
"I'm sorry guys, I was completely useless this time," apologised Jeremy as Odd and Ulrich entered the lab. "Not only did I now know how to devirtualise you but the whole system fell apart. We're no longer in a position to anticipate Xana's attacks or even localise the towers."
"Oi, you still have me," said Harry as he batted Jeremy around the head. "I'm the living Xana detector, remember?"
"What happened?" asked Yumi.
"Xana left a trap for me and I fell straight in."
"But what exactly was this mission?" asked Aelita. Everyone shared a look and Jeremy walked out.
"Aeltia, there's something you should know," said Yumi.
"Is there something wrong with Jeremy's head?" asked Luna.
"Who knows?" replied Sissi. "Who knows?"
Kadic
"You have no reason to feel bad Jeremy," said Aelita as the bell rang. "Xana is without scruple. This isn't the first time he used my mother to trap us. I propose we take turns patrolling Lyoko."
"You want to go walking in, trusting fate that we'll stumble upon an activated tower by Xana?" asked Odd.
"Kind of but with Jeremy's miniscans, we'll localise them easier," explained Aelita.
"What do you think Einstein?" asked Odd.
"It's better than just waiting around," said Harry with a shrug. Jeremy shrugged without saying anything.
"It's just for now while we repair the Superscan," added Aelita.
"I agree with Aelita," said Yumi.
"We're not gonna stay here and wait for the spectres to come down hard on us," added Ulrich.
"Odd, Ulrich, you can't return to Lyoko for a few hours but Yumi and William, are you free?" asked Aelita.
"I have Spanish," said William.
"I'll go," said Yumi.
"Come on Jeremy, we have a Superscan to fix." The two girls dragged him away as Ulrich took Jeremy's place.
Lyoko
"I can't even be sure that the miniscans weeks," said Jeremy as the Overwing appeared. Yumi tapped it.
"It's good Jeremy. It works. Where do you want me to start?"
"Uh… Do what you want. The idea is just to scan as much area as possible."
Yumi flew off.
"You're up Jeremy. We need to fix the Superscan," said Aelita.
"I only hope it's possible."
"Be positive Jeremy! We think positive! You check the interfaces, I'll check the program." Jeremy started to check the interfaces. "Yumi, how are you doing?"
"For now, nothing to report."
The screen started to flicker.
"Jeremy, no!"
The Overwing disappeared and Yumi started to fall. She tried to cling to a ledge after tumbling down a rock but missed.
"What did I do?"
"You interrupted the program for the Overwing! Yumi?"
"You think that because of me, Yumi fell into the digital sea?" asked Jeremy.
"I need to go see! Virtualise me! Quick!"
Jeremy swapped places with her and did as requested.
"Yumi? Yumi?"
"Here!" Yumi tried to climb up but a rock crumbled, causing her to lose her footing. "Hurry! I'm going to lose my grip…"
Aelita tried to grab her hand but she missed and Yumi fell.
"No!" Aelita summoned her wings and flew down after her.
"Aelita? Yumi?"
"Leave me Aelita or we'll both fall," protested Yumi as Aelita carried her towards the land.
"No way!" Aelita dropped Yumi on the path and landed beside her. "We did it Jeremy."
Jeremy placed the earpiece on the keyboard and walked out.
"Jeremy? Jeremy? Jeremy?"
"The Overwing? He did that?" asked Yumi. "Is that it?"
"He's not his normal self… he feels really bad that we was tricked by Xana."
"Then you'd be better off getting back to him. Quick."
"What about you?"
"Don't worry. I still have some life points left. I'll stay here. Are you ready?" Yumi raised her fans.
"Do it."
Yumi threw them and watched as Aelita disappeared.
Lab
Aelita looked around the empty lab before picking up the earpiece. "Yumi, he's not here anymore…"
"Find him Aelita. Hurry."
"Oh but… What about you?" asked Aelita. "Without anyone in the lab, it could be dangerous."
She turned as William and Harry entered.
"What happened?" asked William. "We just past Jeremy or rather, a zombie!"
"Take the command. Yumi will explain!" Aelita handed William the earpiece.
"I take it Jeremy's not having a good day," said Harry with a sigh.
"Aelita, wait. I think Xana's attacking!"
Aelita took back the earpiece and returned to the seat. "Not that! Get to the scanners!"
Kadic
"Uh… I… Uh… Uh…" Jeremy struggled to answer the question on the board. "Uh… Well…"
"Belpois, it's not possible. Are you mocking me?" asked the teacher in annoyance.
"Ma'am, let him off the hook, you can tell he's not in his normal state of mind," said Odd as he stood up.
"However, you're clearly in yours Della Robbia! Two hours of detention!"
"But I didn't do anything! I just wanted to help it out!"
"You want to help him out? Answer the question for him then!"
"Uh… what was the question again?"
"Odd, you're just making it worse," whispered Sissi.
"Alright, that's enough! Della Robbia, you're going for a trip to the principal's office!"
Odd made a face as he grabbed his bag before walking out. Sissi groaned.
Lyoko
"Surely we're not far off," said William as they wandered around the mountains.
"Well, it's got to be somewhere, right?" asked Harry. William peered around a rock.
"We're in front of the tower Aelita. Tell the others to be careful. There mi9ght already be a spectre at Kadic!"
"Any why did Xana only send the puny monsters?" asked Harry as he looked at the Kankrelats.
"According to Odd, there's still no sign of a spectre."
"If you want my opinion, that won't last," said Yumi.
"I know. You need to deactivate the tower as fast as possible."
The three quickly defeated the monsters.
"Too easy," commented William as he and Yumi hi fived. The three turned as Kankrelats started to appear and duplicate.
"Aelita! The Kankrelats! They split in two," called Yumi.
"What?"
They started to retreated and Yumi got hit. Harry deflected the shots while William picked her up and carried her behind a rock.
"Yumi got hit," said William.
"You can't take any more hits Yumi," warned Aelita as Yumi woke up. The door opened behind her. "Odd! Finally! We really need you to…"
She turned and saw Ms Hertz. The eye of Xana flashed in her eyes.
"I'm being attacked!" she took off the earpiece.
"Aelita?" called William.
"What happened?" asked Yumi.
"Trouble happened," said Harry.
Aelita tried to slip past the spectre but it grabbed her.
"Hiiiyah!" the spectre stumbled back and Sissi pulled off Harry's invisibility cloak.
"Get going Aelita."
Aelita hit the button and the doors closed.
"We really have to reach the tower," said Yumi.
"Yeah, we know but the Kankrelats will just keep splitting," said Harry as he watched the monsters. "This isn't something I can handle very well. If I just destroy them, they'll split faster than you can manage."
"The matter isn't won yet," said William as he tried to get out both sides of the rock.
Factory
Odd ran and caught Aelita as she stumbled out of the elevator.
"Spectre… Ms Hertz…"
"What?" asked Odd.
"Ms Hertz…"
"A spectre? Of course. Did she take your codes?"
"Yumi, William and Harry… They're ion Lyoko… They need help… Sissi's dealing with the spectre…."
The door opened again and Sissi backed out of it. "I suggest you get out of here."
"Yeah." Odd helped Aelita out of the way.
Lyoko
William charged out but got hit several times. He quickly used super smoke to get out of the way.
Kadic
Ulrich answered his phone. "Yes? Ok."
Lyoko
"I can't even tell how many there are, let alone which side to attack," said William as he sat down next to Yumi.
"In any case, you can no longer get hit either," said Yumi.
"That stinks," said Harry. "I might be able to reach the tower but…"
"If only we had Jeremy and his Superscan…"
"We don't have one or the other. We have to manage on our own," said Yumi.
Kadic
"It's Odd. They were followed by a spectre," explained Ulrich to Jeremy. "Aelita was touched by it. She's bad off."
"Ok. Go help Odd take care of Aelita. I'll handle the rest."
Ulrich watched Jeremy go before raising his phone to his ear. "Where are you? I'm off."
Lyoko
"We don't have a choice Yumi!"
"But if you sacrifice yourself and then I get hit, Harry will be on his own and he'll get swamped," pointed out Yumi.
"All I have to do is not attack the then I'll be fine," said Harry with a shrug. "It makes it harder but well, that's something I'll have to deal with."
"And if we stay here, we're screwed," pointed out William.
"I agree with William. It's worth trying something."
"Jeremy, you're back," said a pleased Yumi.
"I see you've dragged yourself out of your dump," said Harry.
"We missed you, man," added William.
"Fill me in a bit."
"We're bad off Jeremy. The Kankrelats have us surrounded. We're trapped," explained William.
"For now, don't move. I need to know more."
"We can't tell you anything more about it."
"You, no. The holomap and the Superscan, yes."
Kadic
"Hey. Finally." Ulrich caught up to Aelita and Odd as Luna followed him. "Are you alright?"
Luan pulled a pepper up potion out if her bag and gave some to Aelita.
"We'll see about that." Odd pulled out his phone. "Jeremy, how are you doing?"
"I'm doing what I can. I'm reprogramming it fast to prevent malfunction."
"Ok but hurry. Aelita's in really bad shape."
Lab
The holomap came back online.
"Ok, everything works as good as new! Yumi, Harry, William, that's it, I see you! There are six Kankrelats to the north and only two to the south… and none in front of the tower! It's up to you now."
William and Harry shot out and started to fight.
"Go Yumi!"
Kadic
The spectre walked into the kitchen.
"You there! Catch me if you can!" Ulrich ran off and the spectre chased him.
Lyoko
Yumi leapt into the tower as the monsters noticed her. William watched her then a monster devirtualised him.
Code
Lyoko
Kadic
The spectre advanced on Odd and Aelita after it tracked them down. They backed against the wall then the spectre exploded.
Later
Aelita connected the wire.
"You lost a lot of codes Aelita," said Yumi as the results showed that she had gone down to 12% and Xana's power had gone up to 90. "Xana's gone up to 90."
"What are you doing Jeremy?" asked Aelita.
"The Skid! I'm sure I can reprogram it in a couple of days."
"Xana may have climbed in power but Jeremy has too," said Aelita.
"We'll finally be able to celebrate your birthday," said Yumi as Sissi walked into the room and collapsed on the bed.
"Couldn't you have deactivated the tower a bit sooner?"
"Sorry Sissi, we got a bit trapped," said William.
"And we could hear Odd's magnificent poem," added Ulrich.
"Ah! Because the piranha was me?"
"Right. Speaking of piranhas, there's something big waiting for me." Odd ran out of the room to the principal's office.
"The principal is very busy. He didn't have time to see me," he lied as Ms Hertz arrived, sent him a look before walking off. Odd ran away.
