Sometimes having a pokedex on hand is the most helpful thing that White could have. White whipped out her dex to quickly examine Woobat's and Blitzle's attacks and stats. She was barely given a moment to analyze them before the grunt's Purloin and the scientist's Sigilyph moved in for a tackle.
"Woobat! Use gust to blow them back!"
Woobat's wings were tiny, but incredibly powerful. The force of his gale pushed the attacking pokemon back. No matter how much they struggled to push forward, the force of the gust kept them in place.
"Fury Swipes!" The grunt called to her purloin.
"Confusion!" The scientist called to his sigilyph. The pokemon took a moment to process the orders and seemed confused about which opposing pokemon their masters wanted them to attack. White used the free moment of uncertainty to her advantage. These two Team Plasma goons had obviously never been in a double battle before.
"Blitzle! Use shockwave on the Sigilyph! Woobat! Keep up that gust attack!" White commanded. She could see Snivy making his way down the cliff-side but there would not be enough time for him to join the fray; She planned on cleaning things up quickly.
Blitzle gave a confident nod to White and sent a white-hot jolt to the Sigilyph. Being a flying type, Sigilyph could not stand the intense electric attack, and it slumped to the ground in defeat. White could not hide her smirk as she told Woobat to zip in and use heart stamp on the purloin for the finishing move.
The girl and the scientist from Team Plasma ran away quickly after the battle. White welcomed all the pokemon back to their home in the Wellspring cave and walked back through the forest with the other blitzle and zebstrika. All of the pokemon families and friends seemed so happy to be back in their original homes. Later in the afternoon, White was reveling in her victory underneath a giant tree on the outskirts of Nacrene Town with Snivy and her two new little friends.
"And oh man! When we chased them all into the forest it was so funny!" White giggled along with Blitzle and Woobat. Snivy huffed with defiance. Her little punk was feeling a little under-appreciated!
"Snivy! You were so brave when you brought down their big dish! I'm so proud of you!" White said with a nod to Blitzle and Woobat, who both bobbed their heads up and down in agreement. Blitzle and Woobat had been incredible team players. White finally worked up the courage to ask them something that she had meant to ask them all day.
"Blitzle? Woobat? I know that you are both really excited to go home and spend time with your families but I was wondering: would both of you be interested in joining me on my journey through the Unova region? I think the four of us could make a pretty good team. What do you say?"
Without missing a beat, Woobat chattered happily and bounced into the air. Blitzle charged up some electricity deep into herself and released it with a happy spark of approval. Snivy's jaw dropped and then he narrowed his deep red eyes. He still did not get along well with other pokemon, especially not these two! Blitzle was a brat and Woobat was far too hyper!
Once White got out two poke balls from her messenger bag, she set them next to her two new friends. They both were simultaneously engulfed in light and sent to be safe inside of their new homes. White picked up Woobats poke ball. She noticed that it felt as light as a feather but it was seemingly exploding with excitement. White picked up Blitzle's poke ball and felt a small surge of electricity tingle in her fingers.
White then looked down at a very dissatisfied Snivy. She gave him a sideways smile.
"You knew that we were going to have to get other friends as we moved along. Try to make friends, okay?" She pleaded with him.
Snivy folded his arms and didn't say a word. White gave up for the day and returned her little lizard to his pokeball. She sighed and studied the small colorful ball; She couldn't feel anything coming from it. She cradled it into her arms tightly and shut her eyes.
"Please, Snivy. Please don't be like this," she whispered worriedly.

N couldn't help but stop and order at an outdoor foodstall in Nacrene. The smell of the delicious food called out to his ever rumbling stomach. It was nice to be able to sit and eat whatever he wanted now that he was busy traveling. It was a hassle having to report back to the castle often, but he was enjoying his mission nonetheless. As he was finishing up the sweet fizzy drink (his newest weakness) from the stall after eating his dinner, two trainers sat down on the other side of the bench from him. He couldn't help but listen in on their conversation.
"So I'm at one of those mixer things yesterday right?" a younger gentleman with a beard tells his friend as they sit down with their meal. The other gentleman straightened his headband.
"You don't usually go to that type of stuff man!" headband gentleman said with a laugh.
"Yeah, yeah. That's because it usually ends up being lame. So, I'm talking to this chick right? I'm totally trying to take her home, so when she suggests that we trade some pokemon, I go for it." bearded gentleman said quietly with an almost eerie chuckle.
Chick? Take home? N assumed that these were some sort of slang terms but he continued to quietly observe as he finished his drink.
"Chick says that she's trading me a pokemon front the Johto region, so I get all excited about it and trade her my durant."
"Aw, shit! Your durant?" headband gentleman said, seemingly surprised.
"Yeah, and when I get home and check out this 'Sentret' pokemon from Johto, guess what? It is totally the patrat of the Johto region. Swarms of 'em everywhere. Total bust and waste of my Durant. I got her number though. Might call tonight."
"What are you going to do with it? Trash it somewheres?"
"Nah. I'll just let it sit in my PC. Whatever."
Trash.
Trash.
Trash.
The plastic top popped off N's cup housing the last half of his drink as he clutched it far too hard. The paper cup crumpled in his hands with ease. N looked down to see the contents of the cup running down his hand. He got up slowly and threw the cup into the garbage.
"Whats up with that weirdo?" The bearded man asked his friend as N walked away while wiping his wet hand with a napkin from the foodstall.
He was shaking he was so upset. Everywhere was the same. As he quietly observed pokemon trainers, most of them did or said something to prove N's theory:
That humans are pathetic and they do not deserve to handle pokemon.
N sighed with disappointment as he walked along a stretch of shops past the outdoor food vendor. Something caught his eye and made him come to a full and complete stop. A giant stuffed Snivy smirked at him under half-lidded eyes behind a glass display. It looked so similar to Snivy, whom White traveled with. White flashed through his memory, reminding him that not all trainers that he met had been unpleasant. A smile pulled at the end of his lips as walked into the toy store to browse for a certain something for a certain someone. Maybe he could prove it to her the next time he saw her...

"So what is that keychain of yours that you have on your waist? Something to keep you occupied while you are bored?"
It was the first night of the two of them being lost on route 2 and N and White had nearly finished setting up their small camp and were both preparing to go to sleep. N rolled out his sleeping bag quite far away from White. He ruefully wondered for the millionth time that day if it was such a good idea for him to travel with this girl that he was so curious about. Maybe he should sneak away in the middle of the night? He looked over at White and frowned when he remembered her run in with the angry Unfezant.
Perhaps it would be best to stay.
"Ah, yes. I suppose you could call it that," he said nonchalantly.
"I bet that you're the type of guy that can solve a Rubix cube in like a minute," White said with a huff, "I could never figure out those things."
"A minute? Is that an insult?" N said with a small laugh of disbelief.
"What...?" White said while straightening out after being bent over her own sleeping bag, "Me insulting you?"
"Do you mean a standard 3 by 3 Rubix cube? If so, I can solve it in 6 seconds."
"Hah! Yeah, right! I'll believe it when I see it." White honestly believed it, but she said otherwise to tease him a little. After only having traveled with N for one day she could tell that he was a total brainy nerd who was a little dense so she wanted to have a little fun at his expense. N took the bait. He looked completely disconcerted and offended.
"It is true. I would not lie about such things. I can solve a 3 by 3 Rubix cube in 6 seconds. It is just a simple algorithm. I can explain it if you are interested."
"Yeah, sure. That will be the perfect thing to put me to sleep. Just let me get comfortable first." White laughed at her own joke as she cuddled up in her sleeping bag but N could feel his ears turn red. He wasn't too upset, he just wasn't sure if White really believed him...or wanted to hear his explanation, for that matter.
N casually put out their camp fire and went over to his own sleeping bag. Just as he shut his eyes he heard a small voice mutter something that made him significantly happier.
"6 seconds, huh? Wow. I would really like to see it someday."
