Official Disclaimer
The characters of Lieutenant Commander Steven 'Steve' McGarrett. Investigator Chin Ho Kelly, Officer Kono Kalakaua, Adam 'Toast' Charles, Governor Patricia 'Pat' Jameson and Detective Meka Hanamoa do not belong to me in any shape or form. I am merely using them for my own entertainment purposes.
The character of Detective Sergeant Danielle 'Danni' Williams probably can be considered my own character by now. Although she was originally based on the male Danny from the show, she soon evolved into her own person. She has her own background, her own family, her own history and her own distinct personality. This isn't to say that the Danny we all know and love is completely gone though, he definitely isn't since he still emerges from through her at times. I like to think that this female version of Danny is what he could have been like if everything in his life had gone his way. As in gaining full custody of Grace and having a decent, friendly relationship with his ex.
The character of her daughter Grace has also changed slightly due to the change made to Danni. Grace's surname in this saga is Taylor as this is her father's surname and was Danni's married name before she reverted back to her own maiden name when the divorce was finalised. Grace's parents are also amicable and friendly to one another which has also had an impact on Grace but never fear, she's still the sweetheart we know and love. I do picture Grace differently than she is portrayed in the show so please keep in mind that in my mind, Grace was played by Mackenzie Foy.
The characters of Special Agent in charge Jack O'Connor, Poppy O'Connor, Isabella O'Connor, Natasha 'Tasha' O'Connor, Luke Hunt, Noah Hunt, Duncan Taylor, Supervisory Special Agent Walker Humphries, Martin Chen and Rita Chen also belong to me as does any character in the chapter who is not instantly recognisable from the show. Please do not use them or my version of Danni and Grace without first asking my permission.

Steve's McGarrett's Point of View
"The Governor would like me to remind you Commander McGarrett that these meetings between the two of you are Mandatory, she expects to see you in her office every Friday morning starting from next week to discuss things."
Steve breathed out, biting his tongue with difficulty at the knowing, presumptuous tone that the other man was using on him, acting as though he was the boss of him. He hated it but he knew there was nothing which he could do, if he reacted them it would get back not just to the Governor but to Danni as well and the last thing he wanted to see was a disappointed look from her.
"I'll be there if I can." Steve stated, keeping his voice calm and professional. "But there will be times when I'll be on a case and I won't be able to just drop everything to come and see the Governor. I'm sure in those situations, the Governor would want me to focus on bringing a dangerous criminal in off the streets."
The other man was silent for a moment before he spoke.
"I'll pass the message on to the Governor for you Commander and will let you know her response when I know it, goodbye."
"Bye" Steve replied, rolling his eyes when he realised he had said it to the dial tone. He needed to find out from his partner who the Governor's Personal Assistant was and how best to deal with him. The last thing he needed when he was trying to run a taskforce was having to constantly stop what he was doing and take the man's phone call since, as he has reminded him at the beginning of the call, his words were the Governor's words and therefore had to be at least listened to.
Steve glanced down at the watch on his wrist and breathed out a silent sigh of relief when he realised that it was finally five to ten and time to gather the rest of the team together so the team meeting could commence on time. The morning so far had been surprisingly slow in his opinion, and it was something which he hoped would be rare.
He thought back to the issue of the meeting with the Governor on Friday and slowly smiled. The Personal Assistant had never stated that Steve had to attend them alone which meant that he could drag Danni with him to them. It was sensible after all, since it was obvious from what he had seen since becoming her partner that she would be better in them then he would. Maybe, in time he could convince the Governor to bypass him all together and to instead have the meetings with just Danni leaving him free to get on with running the team and working on their cases.
He shook his head, a smirk curving his mouth as he thought about the quiet morning, no doubt the rest of the team, especially his partner, had been grateful for the respite so they could finish off some of their outstanding paperwork without juggling it with a new case which all of them would know would take precedence over anything else they might have had to do.
He pressed down on his keyboard, locking the system and his screen before he came up to his feet in one fluid movement, pushing his chair back as he interlocked his fingers together and lifted them above his head in a stretch. He groaned when his back gave a satisfying crunch which told him that he had been sat behind his desk for too long and took a moment to shake out his hands out absently to the side of him. He moved around his desk and headed towards the door, pulling it open and stepping out into the main area of the headquarters.
He glanced around him absently, his gaze lingering on each member of his team to see what they were doing with their time.
He could see Chin and Kono standing in Chin's office, both wearing identical thoughtful expressions on their faces as Chin spoke to the younger woman, no doubt explaining what they needed to do next. He knew already that they had finished their interview with Zankovic a short time before since Chin had knocked on Steve's door earlier to let him know they were done.
Jack meanwhile was in the office which he had picked out that morning and was in the process of unpacking a large cardboard box and putting the contents of it away into the top drawer of his desk. Steve frowned slightly as he watched the older man work, making a mental note to himself to speak to Danni about getting a copy of Jack's file so he could read up on it and see who the Governor had placed on his team.
Shaking his head, he turned and headed over to Danni's office and knocked on the door, opening it and closing it behind him without waiting for her to call out for him to come into the room. His partner often ended up becoming engrossed in what she was doing and fail to notice what was happening around her. She glanced up at the sound of the door closing behind him, her large grey eyes watching him thoughtfully for a moment as though she was wondering what he wanted before she smiled warmly at him, the sight of it easing away some of the rage which had been burning away within him ever since his father had died.
"Hey" He said.
"Hey" She replied, her eyes shifting away from his to look at the clock which was hanging on her wall. He watched, with a growing sense of fondness, when her eyebrow shot up in surprise before she looked back at him. "How can it be ten o'clock already?" She demanded with a shake of her head as she looked down at the open file on her desk, biting down on her lower lip as she brought her hand up to the back of her neck. Steve's eyes narrowed slightly at the movement; he had noticed that Danni only tended to rub or squeeze at the back of her neck when there was something concerning her.
The question now dancing around his head was what was concerning her? Was it something related to work or something else?
"Yeah, I'm afraid it is Danno. I guess that time just flies by when you're having so much fun looking at files." He commented, smirking when she responded to his comment with an unladylike snort.
"You think looking through these files is fun?" Danni asked him as she dropped her hand onto the file, she had in front of her. "There are a great number of things in this world which I find fun Steve, things which I enjoy doing, but going through files and completing paperwork are two things which do not rate high on that list." She told him firmly, resting her other hand on the table and pushed herself up to her feet. He watched as she automatically ran her hands down the front and back of her black skirt. His eyes focusing on her small, almost delicate looking hands before he looked back at the skirt, noting the white flowers and green stems which adorned it, wondering absently about Danni's feminine style and her determination to wear dresses and skirts to work before he brought his eyes back up noticing the questioning look on her face as though she was waiting for something from him.
"Sorry Danni, did you say something to me?" He asked, almost wincing when she sighed at him.
"I asked if you thought that the team meeting today was going to last long?" She asked him. "It's just…" her voice trailing off as she waved her hand towards the three large piles of files on the surface of her desk which she was clearly trying to work through and which he noticed was bigger than his own stack of files by quite a bit.
"I don't see it lasting for longer than an hour Danno, not when we had a meeting last Wednesday as well and managed to hash out a lot of things then. This is more about letting everyone on the team know about the changes and what is going on and working out the best specialist positions for each of them. There's no reason why, when you already do this" He placed his hand on one of the files. "And the Human resource stuff that you should be responsible for anything else, like making sure we have everything we need equipment wise. That can be done by someone else. I want you to focus on the cases in the aftermath, receiving the cases and Human Resources." He stated.
"So three nice easy things for me to deal with them." She remarked with a roll of her eyes at him. "I'm going to hold you to a hour then, if it goes even a minute over then lunch is on you today." She tilted her head to one side when he lifted his hands from the files and dropped it on her shoulder instead, squeezing down gently on the muscle.
"If the meeting is a minute over a hour then I'll even pay for lunch this time." He commented dryly, his mouth curving into a half smile when she responded with a laugh and a shake of her head.
"I've know you for nearly two weeks now Steve and even I know, from that short amount of time of being exposed to you, that you willingly paying for something like lunch isn't likely to happen." She commented, a teasing look in her grey eyes before she straightened. "It's ten now so lets get this meeting started since the sooner we have it, the sooner I can get back to these files."
Steve raised an eyebrow at her comment as he dropped his hand from her shoulder and instead used it to wave towards the closed door.
"After you Danni" He remarked, keeping his voice polite. Danni shot him a quick look, her eyes searching his face closely before she nodded.
"See, why can't you show these manners to other people as well?" She said softly, giving him a quick smile before she moved towards the door and pulled it open, stepping out into the main area. Steve followed her out of the room, his eyes flickering down her figure for a second before he lifted his fingers to his mouth and let out a sharp piercing whistle. He waved his hand at the other three when they all looked up from what they were doing, smiling when he noted that their hand had automatically dropped down to their waist where their guns would normally be kept. "You know, the next time you decide to do something like that Steven. I would appreciate a heads up in advance." Danni remarked sounding annoyed.
"I'll try and remember that for the next time it happens Danielle." He said lightly, reaching out and placing his hand on her lower back and pushed her forward, letting his hand linger there for a moment as they stopped by the new computer table before he took it away and crossed his arms over his chest instead. "Its time for the team meeting guys." He stated as the other three approached with questioning looks, clearly wondering whether they had a case.
"So, I've got to ask Boss man are these team meetings together going to be a regular thing which we'll be doing or is it going to be a rare one off thing?" Kono queried as she leaned against the edge of the table, a curious look on her face. Steve glanced down taking in Kono's jeans and vest top combo she was wearing indicating that she was going to follow his own much more casual approach when it came to clothes to wear to work rather than Danni's.
"At least once a week if we have the time for it, I'll try and arrange it so that it's every Monday around this time but we'll have to see if that remains feasible." Steve answered her, looking around them before he looked towards the clock on the wall.
"Am I late?"
Steve looked towards the door in time to see Toast walk in, dressed casually in a pair of dark blue jeans a black t-shirt with a star wars reference on it which looked as though he had worn if a hundred times before. He had trimmed his dark hair but hadn't bothered to do anything about the equally dark scruff adorning his face.
"Nice of you to join us Toast, I was just waiting for you before I begun this meeting." Steve replied, raising his voice slightly.
Toast nodded at him, breathing out nosily before he moved towards them, making a beeline over to Danni who smiled at him as him as he stepped into the free space next to her. Steve watched him for a moment when Danni reached over and patted Toast on the arm, murmuring something to him which Steve didn't catch. He frowned slightly, ignoring the annoyed feeling which came over him at the simple action and instead looked around the rest of the team.
Jack was focused on him, his arms crossed over his chest as he waited for Steve to start the meeting. Chin and Kono were looking towards Toast with a look on their faces which told him that Danni had been correct in her assumption that neither of the cousins knew about the other new member to the team. Chin at least was giving Toast a subtle look while Kono straight out gawped at the younger man, something Toast clearly noticed if the way he was moving awkwardly from foot to foot was any indication to go by.
"I know that we had a meeting last Wednesday sorting everything to do with the team out but there have been a dew additional changes which have occurred since then which will affect us all." Steve stated.
"We figured as much." Chin said, sounding briefly amused.
"Toast here is going to be the team's Intel and computer expert. Danni and I discussed the situation with one another on Friday and we decided that having someone in this position on the team would be the best thing for everyone so that we never find ourselves in another position where we're caught short handed and miss something because everyone is out in the field following leads. I'm not going to allow it to occur again, especially where there is a simple fix to it." He stated firmly, making sure that they knew from the tone of his voice that it was a decision which wasn't up for debate.
There was a moment of silence which was broken by Chin.
"So, what exactly is the Intel and computer job going to entail or is it as simple and straight forward as it sounds?" He asked, his eyes moving between Steve, Danni and Toast thoughtfully.
"We'll be working it out as we go but essentially it's what you would expect from the title." Steve told him with a nod. "It basically means that Toast will be our eyes and our eyes when it comes to any ongoing or cold cases we may have. He'll be stationed here in the headquarters and using his skills as a hacker to get us into any computer system which we may need to crack. It also means that we'll have someone who we can call who will have the time and resources available to him to run any backgrounds checks on any person or interest or place or any other information we might need when it comes to a case."
"So he won't be coming out into the field?" Chin pressed as he looked towards Toast who Steve could see from the corner of his eyes, looking around the office with a look of interest to his face which made sense since Steve doubted that he had paid much attention to it when he was there on Friday.
"No" Danni said breaking her silence for the first time. "He won't be."
Chin made a humming sound but seemed content with the answer.
"So we should think of Toast as an internal member of the team, someone who we can call at any time for information like you said?" Kono asked, with a thoughtful frown.
"That's right, if you ring me with what you need then I'll make sure that you have the information which you've requested within ten minutes, possibly fifteen minutes if what you need me to look into is really encrypted or delicate." Toast said before Steve could answer, an undercurrent of confidence coming to his voice which they all picked up on.
"Sounds good to me" Kono said, looking towards Danni when she spoke.
"I can vouch personally that Toast is as good as they come. He'll be able to get us anything which we ask for within reason. Just because he can hack into anything, it doesn't mean he's going to, we're playing this by the book with warrants and following the rules." A tone of warning came to her voice as she looked around them all individually to enforce her point to them.
Steve couldn't help the half smile which came to his face when she met his eyes with hers.
"Personally it sound to me like a good idea to me to have someone in headquarters at all time." Chin conceded with a nod.
"I agree that it's going to save us a hell of a lot of time in the future." Kono said with a grin as she turned to Toast." Welcome to the team Toast."
"Cheers, I won't let you guys down, if you need me to find something out for you then I will find it." He promised with a nod, the tension easing out of his face and shoulders as he grinned at Kono before he eyes flickered towards Danni. "Within reason."
She smiled at him, patting his arm again before she spoke.
"As for your earlier question about coming out into the field with us, well Steve has the answer to that." She smiled towards Steve.
"Toast isn't the only one who is joining the team, O'Connor is joining us as well. Though, given the fact that he was here this morning, unpacking some boxes in one of the spare offices and working, I'm guessing you all sort of figured out for yourselves." Steve commented dryly causing the others to grin back at him.
"It did sort of give it away Boss when Jack started putting some framed photos out on the desk." Kono agreed with a shrug.
"Yeah, like Danni said it answers your questions from earlier. Jack is also a computer expert but unlike Toast he has experience when it comes to being out in the field and has gun training as well. He'll be our expert in the field and will work on both sides, out with us and working here with Toast as well." Steve commented.
"So how will just work exactly?" Chin asked, turning his attention to Jack. "Are you just going to be a member of the taskforce now or…"
"I'm still officially an NSA Special Agent in Charge." Jack said, uncrossing his arms and instead shoved his hands into the pocket of his jeans as he looked around at them. "My Director was pleased with the way we worked together on the Lowry case and it made me realise that this team is going to one which will deal with any cases to do with the NSA so it made sense to have a liaison Officer place here. That way he can cover all his bases wince Hawaii seems to be a prime location for retired NSA Agents." He told them with a raised eyebrow, his gaze flickering over to the window.
"So what does being a liaison Officer on the team actually mean in the large scale of things?" Kono asked him curiously. "Other than being out in the field with us and working with Toast on the computer and Intel angle here?"
"That's a good question and to be honest I'm not a hundred percent sure because there hasn't exactly been another position like this before." Jack admitted with a shrug as he turned back to look at them. "I think it's a bit like Toast and we'll be making it up as we go. I'm still in charge of my team back in Washington DC, the only difference is that I'll be doing it from a remote location and when we're not on an active case. When we do have a case then I'll be focused on that and making sure that my reports in the aftermath are up to scratch." He assured them. "The resources I have available to me will become available to you up to a point. Steve and Danni, you'll both have the same clearance as I do however Chin and Kono, you'll be on the next level of clearance down. I did try and argue the point saying that we would be working on the same cases but…" He shrugged again.
"No problem Brah" Chin assured him with a nod.
"I'll speak to him about Toast now that he's joined and maybe McGarrett you could have a word with the Governor about it at the same time and see if she could speak to him as well? If he's the Intel guy then he needs to be able to see the Intel." Jack pointed out.
"I'll call her today" Steve agreed, seeing the sense in Jack's point.
"What about your team back in Washington?" Kono asked curiously. "Can we use them as well?"
Jack made a humming sound, seemingly considering the question.
"Officially I don't see why not if it's not messing with their own work but I'll have to confirm it with the Director. I don't want them to get into trouble for something I've told them to do, especially if I'm here when it goes down." He remarked.
"What sort of cases did you and your team focus on back in Washington? I noticed in the last case that you had some knowledge on how a criminal investigation was run and what was needed to be done to preserve the evidence." Danni said, a thoughtful look on her face which made Steve frown slightly as he tried to figure out what was going on in his partner's mind.
"We mainly focused our attention on White Collar and terrorism cases which gave me the experience of running a team and an investigation, though I'm getting the feeling that the cases we're going to be dealing with here on the team are going to be varied." Jack answered. "In those cases like say Homicide I'm going to be as much a Rookie as Kono is. White Collar and Homicide don't often go hand in hand with each other but I am a quick study when it comes to picking things up so I should soon be up to the level you need me to be in them."
"How many people are on your team back in Washington?" Chin questioned, crossing his arms, his head tilted to one side making it clear he was genuinely interested in hearing the answer to his question.
"Seven if you include me, four men and two women. They are six of the sharpest minds that I know and you don't have to worry about them not being committed, they currently think the opportunity to work on a multitude of cases is the coolest thing which has happened to them." Jack said with a grin which told them without words that he was very fond of his team.
"So the plan is for you to be stationed out here in Oahu?" Chin responded, looking pleased by the news, a reaction which didn't surprise Steve in the slightest. Chin and Jack had gotten on surprisingly well with each other when they had been briefly paired together on the Lowry case, their individual styles of working seemingly blending well together.
"I'm moving over to Hawaii because the daily commute from here to Washington DC would be a bitch to make day and night." Jack said, flashing the other man a grin when he laughed.
"Didn't you mention about having kids?" Kono queried.
"I've got two daughters who will be flying over here today with my sister and my two nephews so we'll be together." He said happily. "I will have to fly over to Washington for some board meetings which I can't miss but I'll give you plenty of warning when it would be so you can plan around it. When I'm here though then I'm here."
"All of these factors will leave us in a good position." Danni remarked, her eyes focusing on Steve. "Between Jack's NSA database, Steve's military connections and Toast's hacking ability and skills on the computer then we should be pretty much sorted when it comes to us having to research any of the cases which we end up with."
"Let's hope so." Steve responded, forcing his eyes away from her and focusing his full attention onto Jack and Toast, his eyes moving between them as he continued to speak, all signs of his previous amusement and relaxation gone as though they had never existed in the first place. "There are a few things which you both need to know now that you're officially members on the team. The first is the fact that I am the lead of the taskforce which means that although I am willing to listen to any suggestion when it comes to what we can do to improve things, the end result will still be that what I say, goes without any argument from anyone." He told them, ignoring the sudden amused look which Chin and Kono shared at his words. "If I give you an order than I expect it to obeyed even if it doesn't make sense to any of you straight away."
"Okay" Jack said with a nod, seeming unphased by Steve tone or comment.
"Secondly, Danni is my second in Command on the team." Steve continued as though Jack had never spoken, lifting his hand and waving it towards her.
"Second in command, don't you mean that she is the joint boss with you?" Kono piped up, grinning innocently at Steve when he turned to look at her. He rolled his eyes before he looked back at Jack and Toast ignoring their amused looks as he continued to speak.
"If I'm not here for some reason than Danni is the one who is in charge in my place. She's also going to be the team's point of contact for HPD, the Military and the other agencies who may require our assistance. If they want to refer the case to us then it will go to Danni first, she'll evaluate the case and see whether it's one which we should be dealing with. She's also going to be checking your reports for the time being before they are sent to me to make sure that they are up to the standard they use at HPD. It's not a slight against anyone but Danni is the person who has the most up to date experience when it comes to writing them and there is no doubt that everything we do will be under scrutiny at the moment so we have to make sure that we give them nothing which can be used."
"That's a lot for one person to do." Chin remarked mildly.
"It is which is why those two jobs and human resources will be the only thing which Danni will be assigned to do. The other jobs and specialisations which we need will be filled by the rest of us." Steve replied, looking towards Chin for a moment before he turned to look at Danni, ignoring the look on her face, no doubt placed there by the knowledge that on top of everything else he expected her to check their work. "Have you started putting anything into place to make things easier for you to juggle everything? Some kind of system?" He asked her, reaching out and patting her on her back, resting his hand there.
"I'm in the process of putting something in place and I'll be borrowing both Toast and Jack at some point soon to help me so when I asked for them, I expect you to free them up for me." She told him, meeting his gaze directly, something which he had noticed that not many people tended to do.
"Yeah, of course Danni, when you need them then just let me know and they are yours." Steve assured her with a nod. She looked away from him when her cell phone began to ring, glancing down at the screen, her eyebrow rising at what she saw.
"Excuse me guys, I should take this." She said giving them a brief smile before she turned away and hit the connect button speaking as walked away from them. "Detective Williams."
"Are the partnerships going to change at all?" Kono asked, attracting Steve's attention back to her.
"Not for the time being" Steve replied, shaking his head in response. "Danni and I will be together, Chin and Kono I'd like you both to remain in a partnership and O'Connor, for the time being you're going to have to go solo but I'll expect you to provide cover if one of us is required elsewhere or on leave. Toast, you'll be working here in headquarters so we need to get your paperwork completed so that you can have a ID and security card of your own."
"That reminds me, what is the deal with the increase in security, I swear it wasn't this bad to get into the building last week." Kono stated, crossing her arms over her chest and frowning.
"That would be down to McGarrett" Chin answered her. "He's in charge of the security for the building so any changes that happen has come from him. Right Brah?"
"Right" Steve agreed. "In a few weeks' time we'll all be giving new ID card, they'll give access to use the elevators and to gain access to the stairwell but I'll go more into detail at a different time." A movement to the side of him caught his attention, he turned towards it in time to see Danni do an one eighty on the spot and head over to her office, a look on her face which told him that the call had been related to work and was no doubt a new case for them to sink their teeth in. He smiled and turned back to the others. "Looks to me like we've got a new case so get ready to move out. I want to hit the ground running on whatever we've been given." He stated.
"You got it Boss" Kono responded as she turned and headed over to her own office with an eager look on her face.
Steve nodded at the other two before he moved towards Danni's office and walked in without bothering to knock yet again before closing the door behind him. He leaned back against it, watching her as she stood behind her desk, searching through one of the stack of files which she had on there. He tilted his head when she made a pleased sound at the back of her throat and pulled out a pink case file, watching as she dropped it onto the clean surface of the desk and flipped it open, looking at the paper within.
"Okay, thanks for waiting, I've located the file you sent over." She said to whoever she was talking to, glancing up when Steve cleared his throat and waved him into the room. "What makes you think that this case is one which is suitable to be taken over by the Taskforce, Detective?" She questioned in a polite tone. Steve moved over to her desk and perched on it, listening as she made a sound of acknowledgement, her gaze fixed back on the files, clearly skimming the reports. "Okay, I can see your point, there does seem to be a pattern emerging and an escalation in behaviour, what is the location of the new crime scene?" She asked, taking the pen which Steve offered her and writing something down on the pad of paper next to her. "We'll be officially taking over the case from you Detective, it would be helpful if you could meet us at the latest scene and walk us through it and give us your thought on the matter. Bring any files you have for the cases with you as we'll need to look through them to get a background. The team should be there in twenty five minutes or so. We'll see you there." She stated before hanging up the phone.
"Sounds like we've got a case, what's going on?" He asked as she dropped the cell phone onto the stack of files. She held up her hand at him in a classic stop sign, looking through the remaining pages before she breathed out and looked up at him.
"So, that was Detective Lee from HPD on the phone, he sent a file through on Friday requesting us to take the case over from him." She explained to him.
"What sort of case was he working on?" Steve pressed, raising an eyebrow at her when she shot him an annoyed glare.
"If you stay quiet long enough to let me tell you Steve then you'll get your answer." She informed him with a shake of her head before she continued speaking. "Like I was saying, Detective Lee works in HPD and is considered to be one of the top Arsonist experts working there. Most of the cases which Captain Hookano gives him features fire and arsons attack. He's been looking into this current case for four months now and at first they were simple fires but recently whoever has been setting them has graduated up to murder."
"Have there been a lot of victims?" Steve asked, humming at the look she shot him which answered his question.
"I think we're looking at a serial killer whose chosen weapon of choice is fire, or at least he's someone who uses fire, maybe to cover what he really is doing. We won't know until we're at the scene and can see it with our own eyes." She admitted as she picked the file up and moved around the desk, heading back into the main bullpen. Steve sighed as he followed her out of the room and over to the computer table where Toast was still standing. "Are you logged into the system yet Toast"? She asked him.
"No, not yet Blondie." Toast responded as he looked up towards her. "I need an official log in to do that and I don't have one yet."
"Wait here Toast." Steve said, moving back to his own office. He grabbed the piece of paper with the details of Toast's new login and turned back, re-joining the other two and holding out it out to the younger man. "Here's your log in details, memorise it and burn the paper but log in now." He stated.
"You got it McGarrett, just give me a second and I'll be on." He responded, moving over to the computer table, his fingers flying over it as the others joined them at the table.
"Burn it?" Danni said, shooting Steve an amused look before she focused on the others. "We've got a new case guys, a rogue Arsonist who has escalated to murder and gotten a taste for it. Detective Lee was in charge of the case previously but because homicide isn't his area of expertise, he's signed the case over to us and will meet us down at the latest crime scene to fill us in on what he already learnt."
"I'm logged onto the system now." Toast announced, looking towards Steve and Danni with a questioning look. "What do you need me to look up for you?"
"Detective Lee sent Danni a case file on Friday. I want you to conduct background checks on all the names in the files, both the victims and any potential suspects. After you've done have a look into the places which he chose to attack and the area they were in. What links them together? Were they all rentals? Were the houses owned? Anything which you can get can get on them." Steve instructed as Danni passed the file over to Toast who took it.
"Leave it with me." Toast said with a nod. "I should have the information ready for you within the hour. What do I do once I have it?"
"You call Danni and let her know what you've found and she'll relay the information onto me." Steve answered him.
"We should have more information to give you by then as well Toast since I'm sure that Detective Lee will have a lot to tell us when we meet with him." Danni told him with a smile.
"Toast remain here, the rest of us will head down to the latest crime scene and see what is there for me. Danni I need you to find out who the Medical Examiner and the CSU Agent in charge of the scene is, call them and let them know that we're taking the case over and get a brief outline of what they have already found. O'Connor I want you to focus on the technology and see whether any of it has survived, if it has or you can resurrect it then come back here with it and see what you can do with it."
"Sure" Jack responded with a nod of his head.
Steve nodded back, his eyes moving over his waiting team before he spoke.
"Move out."
