Hey there, I'm sorry this is so short. I just wanted to give everyone an update, from here on out there will be many characters coming and going. Thank you to all who have supported this story!
.: Echigo:.
Nothing could have pulled Ren down, not today. When she woke the birds had sang as if for her. When she ate her breakfast with Kasuga she had never been more
satisfied with food. When she was dressed by the maids she made no fuss about it. The sun shone in a cloudless sky, warm but not too hot. The wind breezed by in a
lazy cadence that hardly disturbed a hair on her head. She was utterly at peace this day, and not even the thought of her brother could stop that.
Ren through a bit more fish food into one of Kenshin's many ponds and watched the fish rush about to snatch it up. The men had been in a "meeting" since
breakfast. She wondered if it was about her, or simply more land feuds. The door slid open and Motochika emerged to stretch his huge form and yawn. Ren's
stomach did flip flops but she was ready for it and smiled his way. He noticed her after stretching and grinned at her. Oh yes. Everything was right with the world.
.: Kyushu:.
Much like the weather that Ren had been enjoying, a young man nearing his thirties stood on a white sanded beach with his eyes closed and a smile on his face
enjoying the very similar weather. He was clearly a noble, with porcelain skin, ebony slicked back chin length hair, and clothing that one would expect of a noble.
Much like the other war lords in the country he too wore his colors, black and white. Most of his apparel was all black; pants that were tucked into his boots, a mid
thigh length silk over coat, and an elbow length nondescript shirt. Only the chrysanthemum emblem on his back and a few outlining elements where white. The
bleak color made his moon like skin seem sallow and delicate.
"Your majesty." Prince Kanenaga opened his eyes, to black as night eyes, and looked to his servant. His eyes were shrewd, but held a cruelly playful light in them.
"Yes?" He asked, his voice even, expectant, but with a sound that left you feeling cold, and slimey.
"She has been found, in Echigo." The man, fully covered head to toe in black, said. Kanenage smiled, before chuckling a breathy laugh. His teeth glinted in the bright sunlight, sharp and pointed.
"Her visit is overdue Hisa, bring me the bride that Mori promised me." He said motioning dismissively with his pale hand. Hisa was gone in a shimmer of shadow.
"You have run so very far my dear Ren." Kanenage, whose face held an ethereal fox like beauty, twisted in a cruel smile.
.: Road to Echigo:.
Moriyama Tsuyo frowned at the buckskin bag of coins given to her by the Mori bastard. He was perhaps the worst kind of man to serve. The Date moron wasn't
terrible, but he was still a moron. However, the brat was by far worse then all the lords of the land combined. Ten years she had worked for her spot in the dragon's
household all for her own lord, and now all because one girl had to run away from her fate she was forced to to another task that would likely destroy years of work.
Tsuyo's light clothing hid an array of small weapons and held in place on her back along with a hat for traveling was a long thin bamboo dart gun, which she
desperately hoped she got to use on any number of people she hated. She travled the road to Echigo that most normal travelers used and began to go over ways to
kill Mori Ren.
.: Dewa Province:.
Motonari had just swung up onto his horse when a green blur slid to a stop next to him. The ninja was one of his, kneeling but clearly hurt. Judging from the
extensive blood pooling at his right side.
"My lord, Chugoku is under attack." The man said trying to catch his breath. Motonari felt a slight tick of annoyance, but more towards himself than anything else.
"Who?" He asked, feeling quite stupid for following his sister all the way here. He could feel Yoshiaki's gaze on his back.
"Kanenage, my lord." Ren be damned, Chugoku was more important than her, and he had let her not only have her way but play him a fool.
"Can you ride? You will tell me everything you know." Motioning for a horse before the ninja answered.
"Yes." The two galloped out of the Dewa Lord's residence without a backward glance.
Yoshiaki called for his own horse, he could see a big storm raging in the distance.
"Chit, has no manners, nor gratitude, and no taste with tea." He muttered to himself as a maid brought his sword to him.
"I'll be in Echigo should anyone come looking for me, I need to speak to my nephew." He said taking the sword.
.: Echigo :.
The day had been cloudless, so it confused Ren when she felt a raindrop hit her nose.
"Well that snuck up on us!" Motochika said reaching for her hand and running to a large tree for cover. She was laughing by the time they reached it, soaked through. Motochika's back hit the tree and he caught her waist and pulled her close.
"We'll be stuck here for a while princess." He said causing her to scrunch up her nose and frown at him.
"However shall I go on? Stuck here with the most ruthless of pirates?" She said leaning into him. Motochika's head bent down to catch a quick kiss.
"And the liberties he takes!" She said smiling up at him. A sudden clash of lighting and thunder shook even the old tree and the two looked to the black sky.
"This will be a big one, we should just go back now." Motochika said as Ren watched the clouds swirling.
"It was so nice before..."
