Mm-hmm, I totally own Hetalia. Yep, that's right. It's not as if I'm just an unemployed teenage girl who loves to write bad fanfictions, or anything. 'Course not.

"So, how long have you two been together?" Matthias' father looked over his newspaper at his son and the half-asleep Norwegian next to him.

The Danish teenager glanced at Lukas, who really wasn't paying attention. Clearly, he wasn't a morning person. "Since yesterday, to be honest."

Alistair nodded approvingly - it was time his son finally had a love life, in his opinion. At Matthias' age, he had had countless girlfriends and a few boyfriends. Then again, perhaps the eighteen-year-old had just been waiting for the right one. He found that quite sweet, to be honest.

Emilie danced (that woman didn't seem to know how to walk calmly, it seemed) over to the three seated around the breakfast table with a coffee decanter in hand. Lukas' eyes seemed to gain a strange spark as he saw it. "Would you like some coffee?"

He nodded sleepily, eyes fixed on the heavenly-looking beverage, causing Matthias to give a small snicker. "Please. I would love some." He said the words slowly, as if it required his full energy to form them in his tired state.

It didn't take long for him to regain full concentration once he had drank several mugs of coffee.

Matthias stared at him. "Did you seriously just drink three mugs of coffee in a row?"

"...Maybe."

"What are you, addicted?"

"No!" Lukas said defensively. "I just really like coffee, okay?"

Matthias gave him a look that clearly said you're a strange one, mate and carried on eating his cereal.

When Matthias' father had come home the night before (his was a job that required him to work late), it was to his wife and son curled up on the sofa with another teenager between them, watching an old comedy yet half-asleep. Emilie had given a brief explanation, and then they had all gone to bed - no real plan had been made.

"So, are you two going to go to school today, or do you want a day or two off?" Matthias' mother asked, pouring herself a drink.

Matthias opened his mouth to say that they definitely needed a day or two off - what a silly question, obviously - but Lukas beat him to it. "I think we'll be fine - if we don't turn up, the others will begin to worry. Matthew especially. But thank you for the offer."

Ignoring Matthias' moans, Emilie gave Lukas a beaming smile. "Matthew's the cute Canadian one? I see what you mean. Well, if you're sure!"

Much to his boyfriend's dismay, Lukas nodded in confirmation. "Lukaaaas! We could have had a day off school!"

The Norwegian simply rolled his eyes in return. "Yes, dear," he added patronisingly.

The rest of their breakfast was spent making casual small talk (once or twice, the conversation touched upon music, causing Lukas to smile slightly - he barely ever talked about music with anyone but his friends back in Norway and recently, Roderich), and Lukas felt the most comfortable he had at the breakfast table than he had in years. Sure, it wasn't too bad living with his father, but he just felt sort of... Detached from everyone but his brother.

The contrast between this and that were staggering.

All too soon, it was time for the two students to leave. Matthias gave Lukas a pout, still disappointed over the fact that he wasn't getting a day off school. Lukas just gave him a light slap to the head.

The two walked into school around ten minutes later, Matthias looking a lot less gloomy at the prospect of school now he realised that every walk to school from now on would be with his new boyfriend. Everything ran smoothly - it was as if nothing had happened the day before. To the rest of the world, nothing had. The only one at the school who was aware that things weren't quite as normal was Gilbert, and for that Lukas was thankful.

He'd had quite enough drama for a lifetime, thank you very much.

Said 'Prussian' dragged the couple to the side once he had spotted them walking into the school, demanding the story. A full explanation was given, along with a threat that ensured complete secrecy of whole affair (excluding Matthew, that was).

Everything just seemed so wonderfully... Easy, to Lukas.

No random feelings that he couldn't understand when he looked at Matthias. (Took him waaay too long to work out what that was...)

No horrible, painful silences to go home to.

No worries...

It was, quite truthfully, heaven.

.:.

"So... What are you guys planning to do after you've left school?"

A few days later, in the café they had begun to frequent, four blonde teenagers crowded around a table. Since Lukas had moved in temporarily with Matthias' family, it was as if the couple had been together for ages - according to Gilbert, they were like an old married couple. (Not that he could say anything.) Life ran smoothly, as mentioned before.

Matthew raised an eyebrow at the question. "Dragging you to Canada, of course. Then marrying you. Oh, and playing hockey for Canada."

Needless to say, it was Lukas who posed the original question.

...wait, there's a problem with that statement...

I'm sorry, I meant that it was, in fact, Gilbert who asked the group at large.

Said 'Prussian' grinned. "Hell, yeah! We'll live in one of those crazily large houses by a river so we can have outdoorsy kids who skate on a lake in the winter!"

"And they'll grow up trilingual, sporty geniuses who take a vacation to East Germany every year!" Matthew said happily, high-fiving Gilbert.

"So... You two aren't planning on going to university or anything?" Matthias asked them.

"No point. Birdie'll get offers from any team that sees him play, and I'll just be his manager or something, I guess," Gilbert said matter-of-factly, causing Matthew to blush at the compliment. "You?"

"I guess so. I mean, I'm not really sure what I should do for a career... What about you, Luke?"

"Last time: Lukas. And I've told you, I wasn't even planning on going to school this year. I'm going to go back to Norway, stay with Arthur for a while until I find my own place, and just ski."

"What about me?" Matthias pouted.

"You're welcome to join me."

"What, in Norway? Seriously?"

Lukas shrugged. "Of course. Why not? You can live with me - repayment of a kind, I suppose."

"Awesome! So... If you two are going to live in Canada and we're going to Norway... When will we see each other?" Matthias asked, directing the question to Matthew and Gilbert.

"You'll just have to visit us!" Matthew said happily. "And I'll visit my brother at some point, and visit you at the same time!"

"Yeah!" Gilbert agreed happily. "Let's have a reunion in Norway! We've seen you practice, Lukas, but the awesome me wants to see the kinda awesome you ski properly!"

"Thanks, Gilbert," Lukas said, appreciating the fact that Gilbert had called him 'kinda awesome' - from Gilbert, that was like 'I worship you'. He then smirked. "Gilbert, Matthias - I can't wait until you meet Alfred... I get the feeling you will love each other."

"Why?" The aforementioned Dane asked, slightly confused.

"I can just tell. Don't you agree, Matthew?"

Matthew nodded. "Completely. They'll either be ecstatic to meet each other, or just get on each other's nerves... I'm going with being ecstatic. Oh, my... Poor Arthur... I've never met him, but he sounds like a decent person, and with both Matthias and my brother under one roof... Oh, mon dieu..."

"Heeeeey. What's that meant to mean?" Matthias pouted.

"Nothing, nothing," Matthew said innocently.

"I'm going to be spending a lot of time on the slopes with both of those two around... Wish me luck, Matthew..."

The Canadian smirked, the expression not really suiting his angelic face. "Good luck - you will certainly need it..."

A/N

I warned you it would be terrible! Don't look at me like that! As I have more than mentioned before, the past weeks have been jam-packed with exams! Thank God they're over - all I have to do now it try to stay awake in lessons...

So... Nearly 100 reviews... *dies of happiness* Not sure how, not sure why, but bloody hell, this is amazing! I love you all so much... You make me so happy with your feedback!

In other news, IAmAPrustrian/Emily/my inspiration for Emilie has begun a new story that I'm apparently unofficially beta-ing. It's PruAus, tragedy and absolutely brilliant... It's called Love's Last Embrace and I strongly advise you to read it!

In the words of Miranda Priestly/Meryl Streep (I love that film!), that's all.
