On the very surface of the arena, the Yune sisters stood, ready with both their decks set and their starting hand in place. A fierce duel was about to begin, and an ecstatic Sugar was eager to take the first turn.

Maira pulled out her hand, looking it over quickly. "I've never had a real duel with Sugar before... does she even know the rules? "S-Sugar.. if you need any help, just-"

"I'm fine!" Sugar pulled out two cards, "I summon to my field, Little Dancer!" a beautiful child dressed in a old fashioned dancer's attire flipped gracefully onto the field.

"I'll then equip her with cursed ribbon shoes! This card gives 1000 attack points to any non-DARK monster. However, it also turns the equipped monster into a DARK attribute monster!"

The Little Dancer looked horrified as the bright soles on her feet were replaced with eerie, purple shoes that began forcing her to dance against her own will. As she spun, she suddenly changed her look to that of a show-girl's outfit, and her complexion began to mature more. With a mischievous smile, she took her dark, purple-feathered dress and swished it around tauntingly.

"N-not bad, Sugar." Maira praised "But.. where'd you learn?"

"Ha! You think my school's any less exciting then yours?" Sugar teased, "Plus, Grandpa helps me out sometimes. Grandma picks my cards though, teehee~" she continued with her play, "Now, don't distract me! I'll play one more card face down, and end my turn!"

Maira nodded, looking at her deck as she shakily put her hand upon it. "...I've never used this deck before.. but not just that.. I barely know what's it capable of. Urgah! And I don't even know if I want to continue trying to be good at duel monsters!"

"Maira, you must find-"

"The leader within you."

the two elders spoke, watching the duel and monitoring there new students.

"...Leader...inside?" she drew the card. "R-right... I want to play duel monsters.. but I always just did it to be as good as my brother.. I never really played for any other reason than to impress him... now.. that he's gone... I've just played to try and impress anyone I can. No more, I need to have a new purpose for playing. A... a better resolve.. I can't just protect my friends, I need to guide them too. Try and be the best I can be,... for them." she looked to Sugar, "And be a good role model for SOME people..."

Sugar stuck her tongue out again at her and giggled, playfully.

" My turn...Draw!... I'll summon Light Wing in defense mode." A one-winged orb of light was summoned. Upon entering the field, it tried desperately to keep itself afloat.

" Now I'll use it's special ability! If I have one or more LIGHT monsters in my hand, I can add up to 2 more Light Wings from my deck to my hand." she dug through her deck, and added the other 2 copies to her hand before reshuffling. She smiled, looking at the next card she was going to play. "Next! I'll play the spell; Heaven's United! This spell allows me to select a LIGHT monster on my field and summon up to 2 of the same copies of that monster from my hand! I'll special summon two more Light Wings to my field!" Two more one-winged orbs fluttered about to Maira's field.

"Already!?" Sugar exclaimed, surprised how fast Maira was working with these brand new cards.

"I learn pretty fast." Maira commented, reading through some cards before nodding to one. " Now... I'll create an overlay network with my 3 LV2 Light Wings. I Xyz summon forth... the Celestra Guardian, Solar Wizard Exlar!" A young wizard, small in stature, tilted his hat as the universe opened up and became his staff. With the sun directly behind him, the rays of light became his cape and the sun disappeared only to reappear as his own eyes. The very emblem that Maira saw on her Celestial Tiger was embedded onto the young wizard's hat, symbolizing its allegiance to the clan.

"WOAH! he's so cute! And blonde!" Sugar swooned, having hearts in her eyes.

"S-sugar..."

"Here's my Battle Phase. I'll attack your Little Dancer with Exlar! Go! Solar Inferno!" The wizard took his staff in hand. Having closed his eyes for a moment, the whole field became dark. He then slowly opened up the darkness with an outstretched hand as the solar body behind him unleashed its energy through his eyes. The blast completely incinerated the DARK Little Dancer into ash.

Sugar LP 8000-400 = 7600

"Golly, gee-willikers! What a combo! And right off the bat, too!" Sugar looked so thrilled to be in a duel that she almost forgot she lost life points. "But! I've got a back up plan, I'll activate my face down card! Dark Circus!" The card flipped up, revealing an image of scary-looking clowns and a circus tent filled with unknown creatures creeping within it.

"This card can be activated when a DARK monster on my field is destroyed during the Battle Phase. This allows me to summon 2 Bad Jokes from my deck to my field!" Sugar took out her deck and searched, then placed the cards down and reshuffled her deck. Two clowns with dark attire and masks with creepy smiles that moved in a ghostly manner, appeared on the field with their hands hidden through long sleeves as they giggled at one another.

"Wait just one moment though." Sugar began to reread the activated card carefully." Neat! This card also says that if I have a Dark Circus Ring Master either on my graveyard or in my hand, I can special summon him to my field. Also if he's summoned this way from my hand I can equip him to any two monsters on my field and give em an ATK boost equal to half my Ring Master's ATK. Oh! And looky what I got." Sugar waved the Dark Circus Ring Master card around with a wicked smiled. "I'll special summon him to my field!"

"I'll attack your Wizard with Dark Circus Ring Master!"

"W-wait! Your not gonna Xyz summon anything?" Maira asked.

"Huh? O-oh.. but..." Sugar looked a little confused, then shook it off and screamed angrily, "LET ME DUEL MY OWN WAY!"

"...S-sorry..." Maira stepped back, "If you wanna duel your own way, that's fine. I was just-"

"Geez, trying to throw me off my groove.." Sugar mumbled, pouting cutely as she thought she looked so cool just then. "Anyway, ATTACK!"

Dark Circus Ring Master took out two whips, the very tip of his eyes glowed as he dipped his top hat and let out a fury of whiplashes.

"Hold it! I'll detach one overlay unit on Exlar to-"

"Hold your hold it!" Sugar suddenly interrupted, "I'll activate Bad Joke's ability then! He can negate any monster effect that activates when a DARK monster on my field attacks! Go, go, GO!" One of Sugar's Dark Jokes ran sneakily up to Solar Wizard's unit, taking it and swallowing it like a sword trick. The clown laughed as it exploded upon swallowing the material. Exlar was now rendered helpless and unable to react to the Ring Master's coming attack.

"I, however, take half the damage of Bad Joke's ATK and DEF combined."

Sugar LP 7600 - (600+500) = 6500

"And now, for your viewing pleasure, say goodbye to Solar Wizard Exlar! for this is, UN-regrettably, his last performance, folks!" Sugar spoke as if the ring master of this duel; Solar Wizard Exlar, was cut like paper by the Dark Circus Ring Master's merciless attacks.

"Ah!" Maira felt every slash of his whip as she desperately tried to endure.

Maira LP 8000 - 500 = 7500.

"M-maira! Are you okay!? I didn't remember that.. that would happen.." Sugar suddenly felt really bad, holding a hand out to Maira weakly.

"Heh, I thought you said 'Un-regrettably'? Besides, this is what a duel is. Someone gets attacked and loses points." Maira stood back up, smiling to show her sister she wasn't too badly hurt.

"B-but not literally..."

"And hey, you lost 1100 points just take 500 of mine. What's with that?" Maira questioned.

Sugar thought about it for a moment, then blushed in embarrassment, "SHOOT! THAT'S RIGHT! I just kinda was wanting to get any Xyz monsters out of the way... heh heh... stupid, stupid, stupid!" Sugar scolded herself as he lightly hit her hand on her head a few times. "Alright, I'll direct attack you with Bad Joke, get ready!

Maira took the hit, gritting her teeth together slightly as the attack commence forth.

Maira LP 7500 - 1200 = 6300

"Wow, you managed to put us at almost a tie." Maira praised, seeing how she was only 1000 points ahead.

"Teehee~ I guess so." Sugar teased, scratching behind her head and giggling in joy at Maira praise. Enjoying the attention. She then stuck her tongue out again and said, "You better not be going easy on me!"

Maira drew her next card. This time, no hesitation, "Not a chance." Maira said, as Sugar noticed her sister was slowly coming back to her.
