Hello, sorry it's been a while since I update but here is the second part of the sorting! And also the feast and going to their dormitories etc. I hope you enjoy it! Oh and this was written by someoneorother123.
The Sorting Hat Part 2
Azealia watched as Diana Lightwood sat down at the. Gryffindor table. She stared back at the Sorting Hat who was now sorting. "Malcolm, Athena." The Sorting Hat shouted out "Gryffindor!" And Athena sat down next to Diana.
"McDonald Gracelyn," the hat called out. After about a second on the stool the Sortgin Hat shouted out. "Huffelpuff!"
"Monaghan, Azealia," Professor. Kaligaris called out. Azealia stood nervously at the back before making her way to the stool. She sat down and the Sorting Hat dropped over her eyes.
"Hmm, interesting, very interesting," it said. Azealia gulped nervously. "But I think there is only one place for a determined mind like this. SLYTHERIN!" It shouted out to the crowd.
Azealia stood up gratefully and rushed over to the Slytherin table. She was happy with Slytherin, she had always thought she would make a good one.
"Ollander, Myriam!" Professor. Kaligaris called out. The girl sat down on the stool and the Sorting Hat soon called out. "Slytherin!" Myriam walked over to the Slytherin table and sat down next to Azealia.
"Hi, I'm Azealia Monaghan," Azealia said.
"Hey, I'm Myriam," Myriam replied.
Lena stood nervously in the pack of first-years, she was all alone now that Silvie had been sorted into Hufflepuff. "Payne, Matthew," Professor. Kaligaris called out. Lena watched nervously as Matthew walked to the stool.
The Sorting Hat almost instantly shouted out. "Ravenclaw!" Matthew eagerly walked over to the Ravenclaw table. Lena was happy for him but she was still very nervous about the sorting. What would her family say if she didn't get sorted into Ravenclaw?
"Payne, Lena!" Professor. Kaligaris called. Lena took a deep breath and walked to the stool.
"Aha, another Payne? Must be twins this year. Well, there is only one place for you," the Sorting Hat said. "Ravenclaw!" It shouted out.
Lena was relieved, she took off the hat and handed it to the professor before making her way to the Ravenclaw table and sitting down next to Matthew.
"Congrats Lena, we're two Ravenclaws now," Matthew said.
"Yeah," Lena replied. She looked over at the Hufflepuff table where Silvie was waving. She waved back, she was a bit disappointed that Silvie wasn't in her house. But she was very proud to have been sorted into Ravenclaw.
"James Potter!" The hat called out next. Like the rest of the kids, Andrew searched around for James Potter. He would be a celebrity at Hogwarts. Being the son of the famous Harry Potter. James looked a lot like Harry with his dark hair, but his eyes were brown and he didn't wear glasses.
Andrew wondered what house he would be sorted into. He hoped it wasn't Slytherin. Maybe Gryffindor, he thought. But he wasn't that brave, or smart, or loyal, or cunning or any of the houses. He worried that the Sorting Hat would just refuse to sort him.
"Gryffindor!" The Sorting Hat called out. There was a loud cheer from the Gryffindor table. It wasn't really a surprise that Harry Potter's son was a Gryffindor though.
"And next is Rayes, Andrew!" Professor. Kaligaris said. Well, now's the time to find out what house I belong in, Andrew thought.
Professor. Kaligaris carefully placed the Sorting Hat over his head and it drooped over his eyes. "Oh my, hmm, this is very difficult, not really there is one house you most certainly belong in. Ravenclaw!" The Sorting Hat called out.
Andrew was confused. He wasn't smart, or creative, or quick-witted or anything like that as far as he could tell. But he was happy to have been sorted into a house with Callum and Sebastion.
"Yeah, Ravenclaws forever!" Callum whispered to him. They high-fixed each other happily.
David couldn't stop fidgeting, he was very nervous. He had no idea what house he would be in. His father had been a Ravenclaw and his mother a Hufflepuff, so maybe he would be in one of them.
"Reiss, David," Professor. Kaligaris called out.
David walked to the stage, surprisingly his nerves seemed to have calmed themselves. The Professor placed the Sorting Hat on his head.
"Hmmm, let's see, this is interesting, very interesting. And difficult, it's very difficult. But I think I know what the best place to you is. GRYFFINDOR!" The Sorting Hat called out.
David happily made his way to the Gryffindor table, very relieved. He was very proud that he had been sorted into Gryffindor. He knew his parents would be too. He was definitely looking forward to the year ahead.
He looked around to see who was in his house. He saw a few faces he remembered from the Sorting. Aedan, the boy he had seen on the train, Rohan, the mean boy he had seen bullying the girl who was now in Huffelpuff. And James Potter, the famous Harry Potter's son.
Piper watched as the boy David Reiss walked to the Gryffindor table. A girl was just being sorted into Slytherin. "Short, Piper," the Professor called out.
Piper was shocked back to reality. It was her turn to be sorted. After hearing the Sorting Hat's song she was pretty sure what house she fitted best into.
The hat was placed on her head and surprisingly she could her a few. "Hmmm's" and "let's see." Apparently the Sorting Hat could whisper into your mind as well. After about twenty seconds the Sorting Hat shouted out. "RAVENCLAW!"
Piper was very happy to have been sorted into Ravenclaw. She had expected that. She had done well in school and loved reading so much.
A girl named Lisa was being sorted into Hufflepuff, followed by a boy in Gryffindor and another boy who was sorted into Hufflepuff.
"Weasley, Luna!" Professor. Kaligaris called out. Piper looked up interested. The red-haired girl was the daughter of Ron Wealsey and Hermione Granger. Harry Potter's two best friends and also big celebrities.
"Gryffindor!" The Sorting Hat called out. Luna smiled and ran over to the Gryffindor table.
"Weasley, Neville!" Professor. Kaligaris called out again. He must have been Luna's twin. Piper looked up at Professor. Longbottom who she knew Neville was named after.
"Gryffindor!" The Sorting Hat called out again. It wasn't really a surprise, Neville smirked and walked over to the Gryffindor table and at down next to his twin Luna.
There were only two people left. A girl and another boy. "Weasley, Alastor!" Professor. Kaligaris called. They must have been triplets!
Alastor looked very different from his siblings. He had dark brown hair, unlike his red-headed siblings. And he acted very differently. Whilst Neville and Luna seemed confident, Alastor was more nervous.
"Ravenclaw!" The Sorting Hat called out. Piper was very surprised. How could the son of two of the bravest Gryffindors ever been sorted into Ravenclaw?
Alastor walked over to the Ravenclaw table and sat down right next to Piper. "Um hi, I'm Alastor. You must be Piper?" He said.
Piper was shocked that had remembered her name. "Hi Alastor, yeah I'm Piper. Its nice to meet you," she said.
Yemens, Carlotta was sorted into Gryffindor and then the Sorting was finally over. Professor. Kaligaris rolled up her scroll, picked up the Sorting Hat and made her way to the teahcer's table. The woman sitting in the. Headmaster's chair got up and walked to the podium.
"Well, now that the Sorting is over I thought I would introduce myself. Many if you already know me but after Professor. McGonagall retired I took over as Headmistress. For those of you who don't know me I am Professor. Woods. Welcome back to Hogwarts for another year! And especially to our eighty new first-years, we hope you enjoy your time here. Now! Let the feast begin!" She called out.
Aedan watched in awe as the plates in front of him began to fill up with food. For a moment he wondered how they had done it, then he remembered that he was at Hogwarts, a school of magic.
He had been very please to have been sorted into Gryffindor. In his opinion it was the best house and he was happy that he was considered to be brave.
He grabbed bits of food off the plates around him. There was so much to choose from!
The boy next to him offered him a bit of roast chicken. "Thanks!" He said.
"No problem, this place is so awesome isn't it? I mean the food just magically appearing and the fact that we're going to live in a castle!" The boy said.
"It is pretty awesome," Aedan replied. "Hey, what's your name?" He asked.
"Oh, I'm David Reiss, but just call me Reiss, it sounds better," Reiss replied. "Who are you?" He asked.
"I'm Aedan Aheran, but don't call be Aheran, that just sound stupid," Aedan said, making Reiss laugh. "So, do you have any siblings her at Hogwarts? I don't, I'm an only child which sucks," Aedan continued.
"No, not at Hogwarts, but I have two younger sisters," Reiss replied.
"Lucky! What class are you most looking forward too?" Aedan asked.
"All of them!" Reiss replied enthusiastically. "But probably DADA and Transfiguration," he said.
"Cool, I'm also looking forward to Charms, but they all sound so cool!" Aedan said.
As everyone was just finishing the last of their dinner, the food vanished again. Very soon after piles of desserts appeared.
"Yes! I love dessert!" Reiss said excitedly. Grabbing things from all the plates.
"I don't think I can eat another thing," Aedan moaned. But Reiss eventually persuaded him to just have a cupcake. And a pudding. And some cake.
"God I'm full," Aedan said. But it had been worth it, the food was delicious.
Nadius looked around the table. He had chatted to a few of the other first-years. There was Azealia, Myriam, Jack, Christopher and Rochelle.
"Isn't this place so cool?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, I'm just happy to have been sorted into Slytherin," Nadius replied.
"I know! It's pretty cool to be thought of as determined and ambitious, I think I'm definitely a Slytherin," Jack agreed.
Nadius snorted. "That's why you wanted to be in Slytherin? I couldn't care less about the traits, I'm just glad that there are no filthy Mudbloods in Slytherin," I said.
"What's a Mudblood?" One of the boys, Christopher asked.
"How do you not know what a Mudblood is? Its someone who doesn't even deserve to be a witch or wizard, its a muggle-born," Nadius replied.
Christopher turned pale. "But I'm a muggle-born?" He said.
Nadius was shocked. "Wait what? You mean, I might have to share my dormitory with a filthy Mudblood! Could this get any worse?" He said.
"Hey, lay off him, it's not his fault he's a Muggle-born," Jack said.
"Yes it is! He probably stole that wand from somewhere or something. Your not a real wizard," he told Christopher.
Christopher looked taken aback. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't steal my wand, I got it from Ollivanders in Diagon Alley, and I'm not a filthy Mudblood," he said.
Nadius rolled his eyes. "Yeah, you are," he said.
"Just lay off him!" Jack said angrily.
Nadius rolled his eyes again. "Oh, don't tell me your taking his side too!" He said.
"Attention students!" Professor. Woods called out. "Now that the feast is over I have a few things to tell you before you go off to your dormitories. To our new students, just a warning that the Forbidden Forest is strictly out of bound! Any student caught there will be in serious trouble. Also, Quidditch trials are next week, specific times will be on the house notice boards. Thank-you and enjoy the year ahead!" She said.
"Quidditch, do you reckon we should try out," Nadius overheard Jack ask Christopher.
Nadius snorted. "First-years never get in, we're not even usually allowed a broom, you won't get in," he said. Jack glared at him.
Silvie looked around, wondering what to do, everyone was getting to their feet and walking out the door. But she had no idea where to go.
Suddenly she heard a voice. "Huffelpuff first-years this way! Hufflepuff first-years! Follow me!" Silvie spotted a tall, fifth-year boy calling them.
She walked over to him, there were a few other kids around him. "Hey guys, first off, welcome to the best house ever! Huffelpuff! Anyway, my name is Oliver Monaghan, I'm a fifth year student and a prefect of Hufflepuff house!" He said proudly.
"That's Azealia's brother," Silvie heard a girl say.
"So there are four prefects in Hufflepuff at the moment. Two fifth-years and two sixth-years," Oliver continued.
"Hey guys, I'm Jace Mitten, I'm a sixth-year student. And hi!" A sandy-haired boy, standing behind Oliver said.
"Hi, I'm Delilah Jones, fifth-year student!" The girl standing next to Oliver said.
"And I'm Alyssa Turner and I'm in my sixth-year!" The dark-haired girl behind Delilah said happily. "I guess we'll show you to the common room then!" She continued.
They followed the prefects out of the Great Hall and into the Entrance Hall. Silvie heard someone come up behind her. "Hey little sis," a boy said.
"Zach? What are you doing here?" Silvie asked. Her brother was a fourth-year student.
"Well, going down into the common room. Plus I thought I should check on you and see that your not dead or anything," he replied. "Hey are you going to try out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team?" Zach asked.
Silvie shrugged. "Probably not, I'm not that good at Quidditch so I wouldn't get in," she said.
"But your brother is the Quidditch captain! How could you not try out?" Zach asked. He was referring to Carter, their sixteen year-old brother who had recently been made Quidditch captain and was mad about Quidditch.
They made their way down a small flight of stairs to a long corridor. It seemed that they were underground.
"So we are very close to the common room now, over here is the school kitchens, and here is the entry to our common room!" Oliver said.
Silvie was confused, they were standing in front of a stack of barrels. She watched as Alyssa carefully tapped to barrels in a specific way.
"You have to tap them in the rhythm of 'Helga Huffelpuff'," she explained. Silvie watched as the barrels slid open to reveal a door which Alyssa pushed open.
The Huffelpuff common room was very cosy. There were big armchairs and lounges everywhere and a lot of fire places. There was also a big noticeboard.
"So, I have a list of your dormitories here. There are four dormitories for first-years. Two for girls and two for boys," Delilah said. "In Dormitory 1 we have Rapheal York, Ollie Ferrin, Jacob Huntington, Lucas Felling and George Calice," she continued. "The boys dormitories are done there so head down till you see a number 1," she said.
"In Dormitory 2 we have Alastrina Irvine, Janice Black, Ella Crossing, Silvana Ellery and Sarah Abbot," Delilah said. "The girl dormitories are that way," she said.
Silvie followed a few other girls down the flight of stairs Delilah had shown. The adventure begins here, she told herself.
Pennsylvania read the list of names pinned to the noticeboard. She was in Dormitory 7, the third dormitory for first-years. She read the other names. Myriam Ollander, Rochelle Grand, Azealia Monaghan and Isabella Castor.
"On yuck, I'm with the Mudblood!" A dark-haired boy complained. Penny saw another boy turn very red.
She felt a tap on her shoulder. "I think our dormitory is down this way," a red-haired girl said. Penny followed her down a dark passageway.
"So what's your name?" The girl asked.
"Oh, I'm Pennsylvania Acker but just call me Penny," Penny replied.
"Pennsylvania? No offence but that is a strange name, almost as strange as mine. I'm Azealia Monaghan by the way," the girl said.
Penny laughed. "I think this is our room," she said as they reached a door with the number seven on it. They pushed it open to reveal a round room with five beds inside.
"Hi guys, who are you?" A blonde-haired girl sitting on one of the beds asked.
"Um, I'm Penny and this is Azealia," Penny replied.
The girl nodded. "I'm Rochelle and this is Myriam and Isabella," she said. The other two girls both had dark hair but while Myriam was sitting chatting away to Rochelle, Isabella was lying on her bed, not talking. "Those are the last two beds left so I suppose they're yours," Rochelle continued.
"Thanks," Azealia said. The two beds were right next to each other, Penny took the one closest to the wall. "God I'm tired," Azealia said, yawning.
"Me too," I suppose we should get some sleep, it's our first day tomorrow," Penny said, and with that she collapsed on her bed and closed her eyes. Soon she was asleep.
So, I hope you enjoyed it! It was quite long...Anyway the next chapter will be the first day of classes which is fun! And I was thinking we should do longer POV's but less people's POV's if that makes sense. Anyway here are some questions!
