Chapter Twenty Seven: Mythological Truths

.

OOOOO

.

"It's getting bad out there." Kim commented from her place beside her husband.

Jason immediately agreed, "Yeah. With the kids busy taking care of Raptor with the zords; the goons are overwhelming the military."

"Is there something we can do Zordon?" Tommy turned to the small boy. "They need our help. They can't possibly hope to take on Xian's goons like that."

"They'll have a better chance with us fighting beside them." Rocky added. Everyone else nodded their heads and voiced their agreement.

Phaedra frowned at their insistence. "That is a terrible idea." She voiced calmly. The former rangers turned their attention to her, ready to argue their point. However, one other intervened.

Zordon noticed the expression on their faces at Phaedra's statement. Though he agreed with her, he wished she could have been a bit more delicate. "I'm afraid Phaedra is right. I cannot allow any of you to go down there." He told them all apologetically. "Former rangers you may be, but you have no power to protect you."

"We understand the risks Zordon." Billy removed his glasses and wiped them, "But with all due respect, I feel you are underestimating us." He then placed them back onto his face. "We have more combat experience against enemies like these goons than the military. Sure, we're at a disadvantage ourselves, but we could still be of use."

Phaedra was getting annoyed with the conversation. "Your governments' soldiers are equipped with weapons and protective gear. What they are demonstrating is combat. What you all are proposing for yourselves is suicide." She stepped out from behind the console. "Forgive my candor, but you are simply unfit to do anything but stand aside and allow the rest of us to do our jobs."

"Phaedra…" Zordon started in a warning voice, but he was quickly interrupted.

"Pardon me Zordon, but we really do not have the luxury of time at this moment." She said in a firm tone. She turned once more to face the parents of the current rangers. "If you are that concerned with the welfare of Earth's soldiers; then I will assist them myself."

"You? Aren't you just a doctor, what can you do?" Rocky asked.

Phaedra simply raised a delicate brow. "I am a daughter of Dulcea. It would be unwise to undervalue me." She said, before closing her eyes. A bright light encompassed her person; and the others had to shield their eyes.

As the light died down, they gasped in awe. "You… you're a-" Rocky started in awe.

"Ninjetti!" Trini finished in an exclaimed voice. The rest of the former rangers just stared at the warrior standing before them.

Phaedra stood in full on red-orange ninjetti robes. She pulled the mask covering half of her face down. "Yes, I am Ninjetti. Bearer of the felid Sachmis to be precise."

Rocky's brow furrowed in confusion. "Felid?"

"Sachmis?" Jason questioned, eyes narrowed.

However, before Phaedra could continue, Billy spoke up. "Felid is a member of the biological family of the cats; also called Felidae." He began, looking at the Ninjetti warrior intensely. "Sachmis, however, is another name for Sekhmet."

"Sekhmet… now why does that name sound familiar?" Rocky wondered out loud.

"It's Egyptian… or at least part of Egyptian mythology. Think back to that liberal arts elective you took back at University." Aisha answered her husband. She knew a moderate amount about African history and mythology; having spent so many years there herself.

"Oh yeah." Rocky sighed.

Kat looked confused, but she was not the only one. "But wasn't Sekhmet considered a goddess… so how can she be a spirit animal?"

"She was known as the warrior goddess and… the goddess of healing in Upper Egypt." Aisha informed.

"That's all correct." Phaedra told them.

"Wait a second," Jason began, "Your spirit animal is a god… I didn't know that that was possible."

"It's not a god." Phaedra said. "It's an animal, native to my home planet."

"Phaedos?" Rocky questioned.

Phaedra resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she looked over the monitor consoles. "It is true that my mother is guardian of Phaedos, but that is not our home planet." She told him, but did not bother providing the actual name of her origin world. "It is time that I take my leave."

However, before she could teleport, Zordon spoke. "Perhaps it would be wise that you not go alone." Once the words passed his lips, double doors leading to a white pristine hallway opened and Reidyn entered the C-Deck. "Allow Reidyn to assist you." He finished his thought, gesturing towards the young woman stepping further into the room.

Phaedra looked over to her sister, then back to Zordon. "No offense, but the humans hadn't christened me the warrior goddess for nothing." She replied dismissively.

"Still sister, you should reconsider; if it would put Zordon's mind at rest, not to mention my own." Reidyn's voice echoed in the great room, even though her lips never once moved.

Phaedra looked upon her sister. "Very well, if you so wish it." She said, before inputting a few commands in the console; and in a bright light she was gone from the room.

Reidyn closed her eyes and called on her spirit animal. She was soon bathed in a bright light and once it dissipated; she stood before them in Ninjetti robes.

"You're Ninjetti too?!" Rocky exclaimed, then paused a moment. "Though, I guess that should not be all that surprising." He said with a sigh.

Reidyn was now donning light silvery gray Ninjetti robes. "What is your spirit animal?" Kimberly asked, not able to get a good look at her emblem.

"Reidyn, the keeper of secrets, like the Lynx unravels hidden truths and shares the psychic power of clairvoyance; that is, in addition to her telepathic abilities." Zordon answered, gazing proudly upon the warrior. "You ought to follow after your sister; else she'll get carried away in the heat of battle."

Reidyn then smiled to the others in the room. "She is a true warrior at heart. And rarely likes to share in such passions." Then looked to Zordon. "I will only step in when I am needed. She deserves to have a little fun; now and again." And with that, Reidyn, Ninjetti warrior of Lynx teleported to the battle field.

It was quiet for a minute, before Trini decided to break the silence. "Zordon? Why is Reidyn's spirit animal not of her native planet?"

Zordon looked at his first yellow Earth ranger. "Why do you assume that it is not?"

Billy answered for her. "The lynx is an Earth dwelling creature… is it not?"

Zordon only smiled wide. "Actually Billy, the lynx is not originally of this world. Rita Repulsa may be the first alien presence your people have known of, but she is not the first to have come here. Earth is still, by all terms, very young. Much of it has been shaped by outside influence; whether intentional or otherwise."

Billy nodded his head. "Like with Phaedra?"

"What do you mean Billy?" Tommy asked.

"Her spirit animal is Sachmis; which, as I've said, is another name for Sekhmet. Sekhmet in history or rather mythology is a goddess of healing as well as a warrior. Am I correct in estimating that in ancient times, the people were referring to Phaedra in Ninjetti form and that she has been to Earth before?" He asked, already knowing the answer.

Everyone turned to Zordon. Billy's analysis made a lot of sense. Zordon merely smiled. "I would answer you, but it is obvious that you have already come to a conclusion." He responded. Billy nodded his head in acceptance of the answer.

Aisha looked thoughtful. "Makes sense. Back then, no one would have been able to explain her abilities. And she is a space doctor. They probably didn't understand the foreign medicine she must have used when healing the sick. So with everything so far out of their level of comprehension-"

"-they dubbed her a goddess…" Kat's eyes widened. "Zordon, does this mean that all of the gods and goddesses spoken of in mythology are possibly beings who came from other worlds?"

"I would say that there is a large possibility that that is true." Zordon replied. "But not necessarily all."

Jason brought his hand to his hair. "Man, that is…"

"Morphenominal…" Billy supplied in a breath.

"You said it bro'." Tommy said. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement, while allowing everything they had just heard to sink in.

"Well, ya learn something new every day." Rocky stated in a deadpanned voice, as he and all the others turned to face the viewing wall.

.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

.

Black blasts with phase cannons, hitting Raptor right between the eyes. The giant reptilian raised his palms to his face, growling out in pain. "Bull's eye!" Black shouts from inside his cockpit. "Oh, sorry Alex."

"Hardy har, har," Red retorts sarcastically. "Just try and watch your back." He tells him.

Black is confused for a moment. "Watch my back?" He questions, as he then notices Raptor's tail swinging his way. However, before it can make contact with his rear end, the Red Ape zord jumps to action, grabbing onto the tail. "Woah, thanks for the save, man." Black told him.

"No problem bro." Red responded.

The Yellow Bear zord made its way into the fray. "Well, if you boys are done playing around, step aside and let 'Mama Bear' handle the rest." Yellow announced over the comm.

"So… we're sticking with that name, are we?" Pink asked dryly, flying high over the others as they subdued the enemy.

The Yellow Bear zord grabbed Raptor in a crushing bear hug. "Tiffany… don't hate." Yellow replied simply.

"Ladies, ladies, no fighting… unless it's over me." Black suggested, shooting the Black Frog zord's tongue out. It wrapped around Raptor's snout, just as he was preparing to breathe out a fire ball.

Snort. "Laying it on kinda thick there Marcus." Green commented, as she basically kept her brother company while he mostly manned the White Falcon zord. She then let out a gasp as the Ape, Bear, and Frog zords lost their hold on the invading alien, and were flung back.

"Everyone okay?" White asked over his comm, shooting several beams at Raptor. Once he received the affirmative, he continued. "Alright, let's end this before it escalates. Have you completed your scans?" He asked the Blue Ranger, who since they jumped into their zords, had kept a relatively fair distance away to run scans on Raptor's new size.

The Blue Ranger sighed, "Yeah Tommy and I don't think you're going to like what I have to say." He answered, looking over the data. He then sent a copy to all of their deck monitors.

The Pink Crane zord zoomed down towards Raptor as he got his bearings. However, before he noticed what was going on, phase cannons were shot at his head. Upon contact, he fought to reach the pink zord, but it quickly flew out of reach. Pink looked at her monitor at a beeping sound. She had just received a transmission. Her eyes widened, as she skimmed it over.

Green was looking over White's shoulder, skimming over the brief report. "Umm, Connor, if what you're saying is true, then how do we stop him?" She asked.

Blue moved his zord closer to the others. "We can't defeat him individually."

"We're not fighting individually and he's still kicking our butts." Black argued, having just received a direct hit from Raptor's fist.

The Blue Wolf zord ran up to Raptor and clenched the monster's arm in its jaws, in an attempt to prevent Black from receiving any more damage.

"What he's saying is…" White began, "… we need Megazord Power Now!" He shouted, and then input the sequence for Megazord; the other's following suit.

.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

.

The Maroon Ranger arrived on the scene, not a moment too soon. Once her feet were on steady ground, she observed her surroundings. She could see the Earth's defenses putting up a good fight against the Goons; but still, they were only human. Inhaling a deep breath of the cool air, Maroon called forth her weapon; the Kusari-gama (Sickle and Chain). Gripping the weapon tightly, she prepared to leap into action; but was halted by a new arrival. "I have no intentions of holding back."

The Silver Ranger had materialized beside her. She nodded her head. "I know."

Maroon eyes narrowed, but did not remove her gaze from the Goons before them. "Are you sure you wish to see this side of me?" She asked, now glancing towards her sister. "I know you do not care for my…" She trailed off, not sure how to finish.

However, Silver finished for her. "Blood lust?" She guessed. At Maroon's silence, she continued. "True, I am no fan of violence. Still Phaedra, I am also Ninjetti. My sensibilities are not as delicate as you presume." She informed her calmly. "Let Sachmis devour." She suggested, and then glanced over Xian's army. "They've brought this upon themselves."

Maroon nodded her head. Her weapon held fast within her grasp. "You may wish to stay clear sister." She turned to Silver; her eyes suddenly glowing a dark red. "This will not be pretty." She told her before immediately leaping into action. The sickle of her kusari-gama traveling a short distance before her, as she used its chain to sweep it in a large circle around; immediately slashing through eight Goons.

Silver watched from a distance. This was the legendary goddess Sekhmet in all her glory. 'Enjoy this battle sister. I know it has been far too long.'

.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

.

Raptor flung down his fist in an attempt to break off one of the Megazord's arms. Needless to say, the attempt proved to be fruitless. Though, it did little harm, it still cause vibrations through the entirety of the zord.

"Man he packs a punch!" Black exclaimed annoyed; nearly falling from his seat in the cockpit of the Megazord.

"I'll say." Red agreed. "Why does this thing not have any seatbelts?" He asked aloud, glancing back at Blue.

"Why are you looking at me?" Blue complained, "I didn't design this." He defended.

"Guys, seriously, we're getting pounded here." Yellow shouted over the alarms going off left and right from within the zord.

"Just be glad that you at least have a seat." Green's voice came over the comm system. She was still standing beside White as he navigated the Falcon zord.

"Wait, you don't have a seat?" Asked Red, as he and the others in the Megazord cockpit operated the zord's functions.

Black nodded his head. "I guess it makes sense. She's kind of a stowaway at this point." He comments.

"Thanks Marcus." Green tells him in a deadpanned voice.

"Rough." Red commented.

Pink looked around her seat. Red was at her left and Yellow was at his; behind them sat Black behind her and Blue behind Yellow. "Hey, am I the only one who's confused as to why Tommy and Sami are not in this Megazord?" Pink asked as Megazord delivered fierce kick to Raptor's stomach, causing him to miss them with his fire breath. "Shouldn't they have merged when he shouted 'Megazord Power' and what not?" She finished.

"Yeah, I'm actually curious about that too." White admits, while shooting his phase cannon at Raptor's back.

However, they do little to slow the gigantic alien down, as he grabs the Megazord and get it in a tight squeeze. The rangers inside feel the aftershocks as they all give off yells.

"Tommy, we've got to do something!" Green shouted nervously.

White tried shooting the beast off of them; it was no use. "I'm trying." He insisted. "Nothing's working."

Tommy… Tommy, Sami can you hear me. Came an awfully familiar voice over the system.

White and Green just looked at each other. "Dad?" They asked at the same time.

"Wha…" Green started.

"How is this…" White was too shocked to complete his thought.

Yeah, listen, I know you're both confused, but we'll talk about it later. Right now the others need you.

"I know, but… I don't know what to do." White admitted softly. He was ashamed and disappointment in himself; and just knew that his dad had to be too. Green squeezed his shoulder to remind him that he wasn't alone.

You need to merge with the Ninja Megazord and become the Ninja Falcon Megazord. But first, you need to get them free from Raptor's hold.

White tried a few more maneuvers; but it was no use. He could hear the other's screams over the comm as the Megazord was being crushed. "Dad, I… I can't…"

Listen to me, you can do this Tommy. You just have to trust in yourself. Separate Raptor from them now!

"You got this bro. Let the power show you what to do." Green suggested. She knew that the power help them with unlocking secrets to how to operate their abilities and weapons. She figured they had to do the same for zords; even borrowed ones.

White nodded his head, the words of both his father and sister swimming in his head. Closing his eyes he listened; and opening them once more he trusted his instincts. "Hold on." He told Green, determination filling his voice. The Falcon zord nose-dived towards Raptor. Once it was in attack distance, it pulled up and allowed its wings to close in front of it. Missiles shot from the tips, each detonating upon contact with Raptor.

Shocked by the new form of attack, Raptor instantly released his hold on the Megazord. Roaring in rage at the pain shooting through his back, he failed to notice the phase beam directed at his head until it was too late.

"Yeah!" Green shouted excitedly. "Great shot."

White nodded his head, then spoke over the comm. "You guys alright?"

"Never better. Thanks man." Came Red's response. "Now let's finish this beast."

White nodded his head. "And I know just how to do that. We need Ninja Falcon Megazord power, now!" He shouted, flying down towards the others, ready to begin the merge sequence.

At the end of it all, everyone was sitting in new positions. The top row White was in the center, with Black to his right and Yellow to his left. The lower level sat Blue to the far right, then Pink and Red coming up center with Green at the far left.

"Hey Sam! You got a seat!" Red shouted, looking at her holding a 'thumbs up.' Everyone chuckled that.

"Really Alex, your power of observation amazes me." Green shook her head.

Blue glanced over at Green. "I guess the powers that be heard you." He smiled, though no one could see it.

Green nodded, "I guess."

"Good thing too," White began, "because it's about to get real rough." He commented, gesturing ahead of them.

They all watched at Raptor pulled himself together. He did not look too happy. "Hope everyone's ready for round two." Yellow said dejectedly.

"As ready as we're gonna be." Marcus remarked.

"Don't worry guys. We can do this." Pink added in what she hoped was an optimistic voice. Though deep down, she wasn't too sure. She was getting a funny feeling about the entire thing; and she didn't know if that was good or bad. Plus, she's feeling slightly dizzy. She really hoped that this battle ended soon. She didn't know how much more she could take without slowing the others down.

"You know what, I like your spirit." Red commented to her, and then really looked at her. "Hmm… that's odd. Our seats are a lot closer to each other than the others." He stated, now noticing that he and Pink shared a central spot; mostly likely to make room for Green.

Everyone just looked at him. "About that power of observation… clearly I misspoke." Green told him, causing the others to let out a chuckle.

Red's shoulders slumped a bit. Pink laid a comforting hand on his shoulder. "It's all good. After all, I get to sit next to the prettiest girl in the world." He said in a joking flirtatious manner; though he really meant it. Pink simply laughed at him, hitting him on the shoulder and then returning her attention to her operating panel. The others followed suit; well, all except for a certain Hawk.

White watched Red a few seconds longer than necessary. He scowled from beneath his helmet. Even though what his friend stated was done so in jest; it didn't sit well with Tommy, only he didn't know why. Returning his attention to the battle, he failed to notice a set of eyes peering at him through her visor.

However, soon enough, Yellow also returned her attention to the battle, making a mental note to speak with her best friend once all of this was over.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

"They're managing the ninja zords quite well; all things considered." Billy acknowledged. He, along with the others, was seated on the floor of the C-Deck. They continued to watch their children on the viewing wall. It was currently in split screen; showing the megazord battle with Raptor and Phaedra's battle with the Goons.

Kim gripped onto her husband's arm tightly in anticipation. "Now that they've formed the Ninja Falcon Megazord, they should beat Raptor easily, right?" She asked earnestly.

Tommy Sr. simply stared hard at the scene before him. He didn't want to give his wife false hope; so he hesitated in agreeing with her statement. Under normal circumstances, yes, it should be relatively easy for the Ninja Falcon Megazord to defeat Raptor. But these were not normal circumstances; and it was not ninja rangers operating the zord. "We can only trust in them and believe that they will prevail."

"Tommy's right." Jason interjected. "We were in their shoes once. We all know how remarkable the power can be. It will guide them and protect them." He finished, Kat leaning her head against his shoulder.

"It has to." Aisha whispered from her spot beside Rocky. She felt a warm firm hand grip hers. She glanced over to her husband with a small smile on her face and gave his hand a little squeeze. Rocky in turn raised Aisha's hand to his lips and gave a light kiss to her knuckles. He then pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly and not letting go.

Trini watched the battle with a frown on her face. She understood the others' concerns; of course she did. But she was not sure that the powers would be enough this time. The kids were still so inexperienced. The former ranger in her knew that they would get through this; but the mother in her, well, she was at the edge of her seat in trepidation.

Zordon stood further back, at the consoles with Omega. He watched the battles occurring on the viewing wall; as well as eight of his children sitting before him. Yes, even after all of these years and with the fact that he now resembles a ten year old kid; he still considers them his children. And it pains him that he cannot give them comfort in all of this. He fears that soon they will come to resent him. There is so much that they have yet to learn; so much that he has not told them. And when the truth comes out… they may never forgive him. 'And so it shall be.' He returned his focus to the battle at hand. 'For that is the price that must be paid.'

Maroon fought diligently. Using both sickle and chain, she single-handedly cut down the number of goons in an impressive display of power. True to her word, Silver stood on the side-lines watching; but never interfering. She observed how once the goons realized how much of a threat her sister was, they just about completely left the government's soldiers to instead gang up on the Sachmis Ninjetti Ranger. But it proved fruitless, as one by one they all fell to her Kusari-gama.

The soldiers continued to march forward, using their own weapons to subdue the few goons that were still attacking them. However, Silver could see how pointless it all was. The bullets seemed to only ricochet off of the thick skin of the goons. The most it did was propel them back by the sheer power of its blast. All in all, they were holding their own.

"AAAUGGHH!"

The shout in pain pulled Silver's attention back to her sister. It appeared that the goons were able to blind-side Maroon at one point, as she was brought to a disadvantage, giving them the upper hand. Silver could not allow that. Jumping to action, she quickly appeared at her sister's side, throwing several shuriken to the nearest goons. On impact they were blasted away. This allowed for Maroon to find her footing. "Forgive me. I could not resist." She quickly apologized.

Maroon glanced at Silver; her eyes no longer blazing. "You'll find no complaints here, Reidyn." She reassured. Gripping her weapon once more, she glanced at the megazord battle with Raptor. "I've had my fun. Time to end this." She suggested.

Silver nodded her head, as she silently called on her own weapon. 'Tekko-kagi.' Large silver claws appeared over her hands, as she used them to slash at the goons surrounding them.

Together Maroon and Silver decimated Xian's army, giving the humans a real chance at defeated them with few casualties.

Raptor flicked his tail to the Ninja Falcon Megazord, hoping to send said zord tumbling down. What he did not expect was for the megazord to catch his tail, pulling him into closer proximity before dealing out a nearly fatal blow to his face. Raptor could feel the flames bubbling up his chest as he tried to shoot a hot stream of fire at the megazord. However, his jaw was broken from that last blow he was delivered; and he could not open his mouth properly causing the flames to stay trapped inside. Though his skin was tough enough that the flames would not damage him; they intensified the pain he was already in, causing him to black out.

The rangers realized this as they watched Raptor tumbling down in a boneless manner.

"So… we won?" Red asked. Then in a more joyous voice, he shouted, "We won!"

The others seemed to soak in his enthusiasm; and soon they too were celebrating. Still, there was one, who did not share in this elation.

.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

.

"They did it!" Trini exclaimed in relief, causing the others to rejoice as well.

"Well, that's a huge relief." Jason commented.

"I don't think so. They still have to defeat the Goons." Billy informed, "Though I am surprised that they haven't disappeared now that Raptor has been defeated."

Aisha grinned. "It would be in their best interest. Phaedra is quite the force."

"Not to mention Reidyn." Kim added, "Talk about girl-power." Tommy glanced her way with a grin on his face. "What?! They're pretty awesome, is all I'm saying."

His grin widened. "I didn't say anything." Tommy placed his arm over her shoulders and pulled her in closer to him. "But I remember a pretty pink ranger who was no push over herself." He whispered in her ear; earning a blush from his wife.

Kat raised a hand, pointing to the viewing wall. "Look, the Goons are disappearing. I guess that makes it official. The rangers really did win." She said with a bright smile.

Rocky leaned back a little; pleased with the outcome. "Now they can be teleported back here, right?" He asked, glancing at Zordon, but was disturbed by what he saw. Zordon was staring at the wall with a deeply concerned expression on his face. Rocky knew that face. He turned back to the picture, knowing deep down that this wasn't over; and something was coming.

.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

.

The rangers were still rejoicing in the Falcon Megazord, when it began to shake uncontrollably. "What's happening?!" Yellow yelled.

"The damage is too great. Our temporary bond to the zord is becoming even more unstable." Blue explained.

White nodded his head. "It's done its job. Initiate discharge sequence." He commanded, as they prepared to exit the zord.

"Right!" They shouted in unison.

.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

.

"Sister… they are retreating…" Silver noted as she watched the goons slowly, but surly leaving the area. She mentally released her weapon.

Maroon watched as her sickle landed itself in one last goon's head, before it faded away into nothing. Yanking the blade back to her with the use of her chain, she noticed the others disappearing, just as her sister said. "So it would seem." She commented.

Silver moves closer to her. "The megazord has prevailed."

"Yes." Maroon replied curtly, nodding her head; whilst silently releasing her weapon.

"Let us go meet them." Silver suggested.

"Is that necessary?" Maroon questioned.

"They may need assistance with the approaching authorities." Silver mentions, nodding her head towards the still distant army, now approaching them.

Maroon let out a sigh. "Very well." She states, then immediately she and her twin run towards the zord.

.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

.

"Raptor! You fool!" Shouted a very angry Xian as he looked upon the defeated monster through his zoomed window. He then willed for Raptor to return to him; and just like that the body of the fallen reptilian disappeared from the Earth. A door to the side of his throne room opened. In walked a blue furry creature. "You had better have good news for me Furk." He all but growled out, without turning away from his view of the battle field.

The creature in question swiftly bowed down low on the ground before speaking. "Yes Lord Xian, you wished for updates on Maura." Here the overlord turned to face him. Taking this as a sign to continue, he stood up and proceeded in giving his lord a detailed account of her injuries. "She is stable now. She regained consciousness at one point, but I felt it better that she rested. So I placed her in an induced coma; allowing her body the chance to fully heal."

Xian nodded, turning his gaze once more to the screen of his room. "Well done. Raptor has failed miserably." He stated, walking over to a side wall, where his armor hung. Confused, the blue doctor studied his master's body language. However, before Furk could voice his confusion, Xian continued. "I have sent him to the medical bay. He should be there upon your arrival." He said, pulling at the set of armor.

Furk was surprised by how calm Lord Xian appeared in his movements; when he was certain of how angry the man must be. "Sir?"

Xian put on body armor in fluid but quick movements. "Even though I may regret saying this, but try and save the fool." He said, pulling two swords down from the hangings as well.

"Sir, do you mean to go into battle… yourself?" Furk asked surprised.

"You are needed in sickbay doctor; I suggest that you make your way there." Xian ordered with a slight growl. The little creature jumped at his tone of voice and scurried out of the throne room. Xian then turned back to his view of the megazord. A smirk fell onto his face while closing his eyes. He was engulfed in a bright light, and soon disappeared.

Six of the seven rangers soon found themselves landing harshly onto the ground. The seventh, being Green, slowly lowered herself onto the ground with the aide of flight. "You guys really need to work on your landing." She quipped, bending down to help up Pink, who was nearest her.

"No fair Tink. We can't all have pixie dust." Red answered in annoyance. He pulled himself up onto his feet; helping up Yellow who had landed beside him.

"Tink…" Black started, then let out a slight chuckle, "fitting." He raised his hand and allowed Blue to help him up. "Thanks man."

"Not a problem." Blue said. "After all, you did break my fall."

"Don't remind me." Black answered, rubbing his side.

White looked over everyone, assessing any external damage. "Is everyone alright?" He asked.

"I'm fine." Yellow answered; everyone else also answering in the affirmative. That is everyone, except Pink. Yellow, however, was the only one who noticed. She moved closer to her friend. "Yo T, you good?"

Pink jumped as though she had just noticed where she was. "What? … Oh, yeah, just can't wait for this to be over." She answered honestly, but vaguely. Yellow stared at her for a moment, she was just about to press further, but was interrupted by two new arrivals.

The rangers all fell into a defensive stance. "Who are you?" White asked. Though what he really wanted to know is: were they friend or foe?

"Rangers, please do not be alarmed. It is Phaedra and I." Silver responded, gesturing between her sister and herself.

"Wait! You're power rangers too?" Black asked, shocked like the rest of them.

"If you two were rangers all along," Blue tilted his head in a quizzical manner. "Ninjetti from the looks of it. Why have you not stepped in before now?" He asked.

'It was not our place to interfere.' Silver explained, almost shyly.

The rangers did not like that answer. "Not your place? So you just decided to sit back and watch the subjugation of our people, for what… for kicks?" Yellow shouted fervently. Though they were equally displeased at this new information, the others were still surprised by her outburst.

"Livvy-" Pink placed a hand on her shoulder to try and calm her down.

"No!" Yellow shouted shrugging her off, focusing more on the twin Ninjetti standing before her. "People died. And you did nothing?"

Silver took a step forward to comfort the Yellow ranger, but a look from Maroon stopped her. "What my sister means," Maroon began before returning her gaze to the young rangers before them, "is that we all serve a purpose. However, now is not the time for this discussion."

"I'm not listening to this!" Yellow huffed and removed herself from the group. Pink followed after, in hopes of calming her down.

The others watched them, unsure of how to react. It was White who decided to get them back on track. "Fine, but we will finish this conversation." He asserted.

Maroon said nothing. Silver cast her eyes down. White and the others grew suspicious about their demeanor. Red glanced back towards Yellow and Pink, and then to the oncoming troops. "So... what now?" He asked, breaking the awkward silence.

Before any of them could answer him, there was a loud booming sound in the distance. "What was that?" Questioned Green as the wind began to pick up.

"Whatever it was. I doubt it's good." Black commented.

"Tiffany!" Yellow shouted as she witnessed her friend sink down to her knees. Yellow crouched down beside her in concern. The others circled them. "Are you okay?!" She shouted over the fierce winds. Pink was clutching her helmeted head, rocking back and forth. There was an image assaulting her mind, but it was unclear. She could not see it clearly. Every time she tried, she felt pain. But she could sense something… and it was... Yellow looked up at the others worried. "What do we do?!"

Just as soon as the question left her lips, the winds stopped. Pink raised her head and looked directly at Silver. "It's coming." She hushed out fearfully.

The Earth shook once… twice… then… "Oh my God…" Green gasped, looking past Silver and Maroon; causing the others to follow her gaze. The soldiers were thrown up high into the sky along with dirt and debris.

"What's happening?" Black asked as he saw them freeze mid-air, only to be slammed back down into the ground. "Holy shi-"

"We've got to get them out of here!" White shouted about to speed away, but was halted by a hand grabbing his wrist. He looked down and stared into the visor of the Pink Fox.

Pink was shaking her head. "No Tommy, wait! It's-" However, before she could finish, the group was blasted several meters away from each other.

Pink lost her hold on White as they were hurled in different directions. She sailed through the dust filled air, landing hard onto her side. There was a sharp pain against her temple, "It's… here…" She mumbled as everything faded black.

CLINK, CLANK… …

… … … … BOOM! …

Tiffany jumped startled. "Wha…" She blinked up into the sky in confusion. There was a distinct ringing in her ear that was making it difficult for her to focus. "To… Tommy?" She croaked out, her throat dry. Reaching up to cradle her head, the first thing she noticed was that she could actually feel her face; the second thing was the warm sticky substance now coating her fingers. Pulling her hand back away from her head, she realized that yes, the sticky substance was blood; and yes, she was now demorphed.

With a loud groan Tiffany rolled onto her stomach, and then pushed herself up onto her knees. Slightly shaking her head in an attempt to clear it; she slowly rose to her feet. The ringing was beginning to subside, and the sounds of battle were taking its place. Looking around to assess the area, she called out, "Tommy!" There was no answer. No longer morphed, she could not communicate easily with her teammates anymore. Deciding to just move towards the battle, she stumbled through the thick dust fog. "Livvy!" She yelled; no answer. "Alex!" She struggled to get that last one out; and paused to catch her breath.

"Pink Fox!" She summoned. She could feel the power crackle around her before dissipating once more. 'I'm too weak.' She figured, slowing her march. CLINK, CLANK! She was close, she could tell. Suddenly, she remembered what she was trying to tell the others. Her eyes widened, "I've got to tell him." Now that she was not protected by her power suit, she could feel the damage that her body had suffered. Needless to say, she ached. No matter, she pushed through the pain. Her friends needed her; morphed or not.

Tiffany broke into a run. The noise from the battle was getting louder as she neared. 'Just a little bit more.' She thought as her legs grew heavy and her breathing became labored. Right when she felt she had arrived, the noise stopped. "What?" She breathed while stopping. She could hear no one and see no one. Her hair fluttered as the wind picked up around her. She tried using her foresight, but it felt blocked?

Shutting her eyes, Tiffany focused on the energy flowing around her. She calmed her breathing, and opened her mind. The same blurred image that caused her pain from before came to her mind's eye. But instead of trying to force her out this time, it welcomed her. Tiffany's brow furrowed in confusion and concentration. She dug a little deeper before letting out a gasp. Her eyes widened as she stared before her. She knew he was standing there even before the dust cleared.

The dark figure stood there with his swords brandished. He looked her over, from head to toe; before returning her gaze. A smirk found its way onto his face. "Well, well, well… we really must stop meeting like this." He said with a grin.

Tiffany simply stood there, silently praying for strength for what was to come. She stared at the man before her, and could not utter but one word, "Xian…"

AN: There you have it! The moment you've been waiting for… Chapter 27! Yay! I truly hope you've enjoyed this update. I made it longer than usual this time as a sort of peace offering, even though we didn't reach the review quota. [Sad face] So please forgive me for the over due update.

Okay guys, it looks like we have about three chapters left. So this first installment will be coming to an end very soon.

THANK YOU all so much for sticking around and reading my story.

And a very SPECIAL THANK YOU for all of you who have reviewed. I really appreciate your kind words and your feedback. You guys keep me inspired.

andyg2525: Thanks. I will! Can't wait to hear what you think of this newest chapter!

brankel1: Glad I'm meeting your expectations! lol Thank you.

MEfan87: Thank you, I was trying to give it that old MMPR feel. Yeah, I know what you mean about Red Bull… lol I actually thought over it for a long time, but I really wanted the red ranger's animal to be bull. So I was like, why not? lol Funny thing is, I'm sure everyone has noticed this, but you are the first one to actually say something about it. I like that quote of yours, I think I might have to put it somewhere in this fic.

the-legend-reborn: Thank you so much for the long review lol. I'm glad that you are enjoying this fic. I agree that Alex is a lot like Rocky even though he is Jason's son, but I thought it would be an interesting twist. After all, in a lot of ways kids are similar to their parents, but at the same time they have their own individuality. I don't know, it just felt right. lol As for the cannon characters, I do my best to keep everyone in character. I feel it makes a fic that more believable. Also, I loved these characters when I was a kid, so this is my way of bringing them back to life.

Once again, thank you all. And as ALWAYS… … … …
