"Elphie, hold still!"
"Stop pulling my hair!"
"I wouldn't pull if you would just hold still. You're making this harder than it has to be!"
It was the day everyone was waiting for. Fiyero and Elphaba's wedding day. The day everyone, namely Galinda, had waited three years for. The wedding was being held at St. Aelphaba of the Waterfall Church in Munchkinland. From there, Fiyero and Elphaba would spend their honeymoon in the royal family's summerhouse on Kiamo Ko beach.
Elphaba's wedding dress was a pure white, strapless gown that fell like a waterfall from her waist. The top had crystals aligned in flower shaped patterns and a silver tulle belt hugged her waist. She had insisted that it showed too much skin, though both Galinda and Nessa protested that she looked beautiful.
Galinda's bridesmaid dress was soft baby pink down with thick shoulder straps and a flowing waterfall skirt. A flower belt was tied around her waist, the same shade as the dress. Her hair was in an elegant bun, but a few curled strands were loose, framing her face.
The blonde had taken a curling iron to the emerald girl's hair and started curling it. She styled Elphaba's hair so that half of it was tied in an elegant bun, and the other half flowed down her back like a waterfall.
A knock and Nessa appeared, quickly wheeling to her sister's side. She was wearing the same dress as the blonde and her hair was curled, hanging off her shoulders. She wore a headband in her brown hair the same color as her dress. "Are you almost ready, Fabala?"
"Almost… almost… one more clock tick…" Galinda said as she applied the last of Elphaba's makeup, which consisted of a little bit of purple eye shadow, blush, mascara and lip gloss.
"Galinda, you're done," Elphaba frowned, feeling the blonde fix a section of her hair over her shoulder.
"I am now. And don't frown, Elphie. You'll get wrinkles," Galinda said, lightly smacking Elphaba's arm.
"And Oz forbid I get wrinkles," Elphaba said in mock horror.
"Yes, because then I'll be the one that will have to fix that, 'cause Oz knows Fifi knows absolutely nothing when it comes to proper female skin care."
"I would hope not," Elphaba muttered.
"Oh, hush you!" Galinda placed the veil in Elphaba's hair and helped her to her feet.
"You look beautiful, Fabala," Nessa smiled, taking Elphaba hand.
Elphaba smiled and, turning, knelt in front of her sister. "Thank you, Nessie."
The emerald woman slowly lifted her hand to her sister's face. Nessa smiled and closed her eyes as Elphaba's fingers lightly drifted across her face.
"You look beautiful, too," Elphaba smiled, pulling her hand away.
Nessa wiped a tear away from her eye and leaned forward to hug her sister. "Are you ready?"
Elphaba nodded and pushed herself to her feet. She felt Galinda hand her the bouquet and gently guide her out of the room, closely followed by Nessa.
"You look beautiful, Fabala," Frex smiled as he saw his eldest daughter approaching him.
"Thank you, Father," Elphaba smiled, feeling her father take her arm.
"Dude, you've got this!" Fiyero's cousin and best man, Khynel, said, giving the groom a soft nudge. He brushed his reddish-blonde hair away from his face, fixing his bangs so they fell perfectly over his forehead. He was wearing a white shirt with a black jacket, black pants and black shiny shoes.
"I've got this! I've got this! I've totally got this," Fiyero said to himself, straightening his tie and checking to make sure his all-white suit was straight.
"That's the spirit!" Khynel smiled as the music started to play.
Galinda came down the isle first, a picture of sophisticated grace. She seemed to glide down the isle, a radiant smile on her face. Once she reached the altar, Khynel gave the blonde a shy smile. Galinda blushed and smiled back.
Nessa was next, being wheeled down the isle by Boq. The brunette looked as happy as the blonde, if not happier. Boq was beaming, excited for the ceremony to take place.
Nelliee entered after them, wearing the same bridesmaid's dress as Galinda and Nessa. Her red hair was curled and styled in an elegant up-do. A graceful smile was painted on her lips as she walked down the isle, her bouquet clutched firmly in her hands.
Kika, the five-year-old daughter of an old family friend of the Tigulaars, came down the isle next, wearing a light pink dress, smiling as she sprinkled the flower petals in front of her. Deon, Kika's six-year-old cousin, followed close behind her, carrying two rings on a golden pillow.
Everyone turned as the doors opened, revealing Elphaba and Frex.
"Wow," Fiyero whispered as he looked at his soon-to-be wife.
"Dude, don't drool," Khynel whispered, discreetly pressing the back of his hand against Fiyero's chin to close his mouth.
Frex slowly led Elphaba down the isle, doing the role of the proud father extremely well. He was beaming as he gave Elphaba away, kissing her cheek before taking his seat in the front row next to Fiyero's beaming parents, Queen Alyena and King Navon.
"You look beautiful, Fae," Fiyero whispered.
"Thank you," Elphaba whispered back. "I'm sure you look handsome."
"Thank you," Fiyero smiled before the ceremony started.
After exchanging their vows and the rings, the priest finally declared them husband and wife.
"You may now kiss the…" the priest started, but never got to finish. Fiyero pulled Elphaba in for a long passionate kiss. Their first kiss as husband and wife.
Fiyero grinned as he grabbed Elphaba's hand and they ran down the isle together. The thunderous applause and cheering from everyone filled Elphaba's ears and she was sure the smile on her face couldn't get any wider. This was it. She was finally married to Fiyero Tigulaar.
"Attention, everyone! Attention, please!" Galinda called, lightly tapping her fork against her glass to get everyone's attention. She stood up from her seat to make her speech. "There's a lot I can say about this couple right here, but I'm going to give you all the brief, condensed version."
"Yay for us," Fiyero whispered.
Galinda heard that and shot him a look. "Anyway, I've known Fifi since we were kids. And I never imagined him as the type to get married and settle down with just one girl."
"Gee, thanks, Glin," Fiyero muttered, throwing his hands up in mock surrender.
"You're welcome, Fifi. And Elphie, I'll never forget the day we met and you tried to kill me with a lamp."
"I didn't try to kill you," Elphaba defended herself, throwing the blonde's general direction a look.
"I'm sorry. You lost control of your magic and that almost killed me. Better?"
Elphaba narrowed her eyes at the blonde.
"Seriously, though. I can honestly say that I have never seen a couple as cute as you two. Elphie, you got Fiyero to think, which was something we all thought was impossible. Both of you deserve to be happy. You deserve each other. So… to Elphaba and Fiyero!" the blonde exclaimed, raising her glass.
"To Elphaba and Fiyero!" the crowd echoed, raising their glasses.
After dinner, the crowd quieted down as a slow song began to play.
"May I have this dance, Princess Elphaba of the Vinkus?" Fiyero smiled, using Elphaba's new title for the first time.
Elphaba blushed. "Of course, Prince Fiyero." Fiyero helped his wife to her feet and led her to the dance floor.
From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
Fiyero lead Elphaba slowly in their first dance, wanting to remember this moment forever.
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
"Fae?"
"Hmm?"
"I love you."
"I love you, too, Yero my hero," Elphaba smiled, leaning her head against Fiyero's chest.
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
"I can't believe this is it," Fiyero whispered.
"What?" Elphaba questioned.
"You're mine. I get to spend every moment with you for the rest of my life."
"Yero, we're only been married for a few hours."
"Hey, you've got to start somewhere, right?"
In the circle
The Circle of Life
"Looks like Galinda's met a new friend," Fiyero smiled, watching the bubbly blonde in a deep conversation with Khynel, practically clinging to every word that left his mouth.
"Who?" Elphaba asked curiously.
"Khynel, my cousin."
"You don't think…"
"You know, Galinda," Fiyero chuckled. "Plus, I think they would be a perfect match."
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding

The Circle of Life
"That song is fitting, you know," Fiyero said as he led Elphaba back to her seat.
"How so?" Elphaba smiled.
"This is the circle of life. We have our whole lives in front of us. I can count on you and you can count on me, just like our song. And though we have our ups and downs, I know I'll always have you."
"And I'll always have you."
"I love you, Fae. I always have and I always will."
"I love you so much, Yero. And I will always love you. Now and forever."
"Forever and always."
