Chapter 24

Tegan POV

I'm nervous. Really nervous actually but still excited. After a two month tour, I'm finally going to see Lindsey again. I trust her with my life but I can't shake off the feeling that somethings wrong. Maybe I'm just paranoid because the last time...well you all know what happened the last time I came back from tour. Sara's sitting right next to me on the plane, arms crossed and with a serious expression. She forbid me to talk or text with Lindsey to see if she's going to pass the test even if we don't have any contact. She doesn't even know that we're on a plane to LA and that we'll be at her place in about three hours. It's all part of Sara's plan.

"I think it's a bad idea to just show up at her apartment. Maybe she's at work." these are the first words I've said since we got on the plane.

"If she's at work we'll wait for her. What's the big deal?" Before I can say anything, she speaks up again "What are you afraid of Tegan? Don't you trust her?"

"I do trust her!" I defend myself.

"Well than I don't see the problem" She puts her headphones on her head and ends our conversation. With a sigh I lean into my seat and watch out of the window. To be honest I am a little concerned. I trust Lindsey but I trusted her back than as well and what happened.

With a shake of my head I try to get rid of my doubts. She wouldn't do that. It took her a while but she came back and she loves me, right? I try to think of something else and relax during the rest of the flight.

"Tegan! Wake up!" I feel somebody shake my shoulder and look up to see Sara already standing up from her seat. When did I fall asleep?

After we left the airport Sara hired a cab to take us directly to Lindsey's apartment. Before I can even comprehend it we are standing in front of her door. Sara reaches out to ring the bell but before she presses the button I stop her.

"Wait!" I say quietly. Sara turns around to look at me with raised eyebrows.

"What's wrong Tee?" She asks with a caring tone.

"Do you...Do you think she did it again?" I voice my concern. She puts her hand on my shoulder and looks me deep in the eyes.

"No, I don't think she did it again." Her statement and the way she said it catch me off guard. "She learned her lesson...even though it might not seem like it, I like Lindsey and I know I was a bitch towards her but I had to make sure, that nothing bad happens again." Every doubt I ever had vanished in that moment she said it. I smile at my sister as she motions for me to go first. I step in front of her and lift my hand to press the door bell. After a few seconds the door flies open. I'm a little disappointed to see Alex standing in the doorway.

"Tegan good to see you" She pulls me into a tight hug. "Come in guys. How are you Sara?" I don't hear what Alex and Sara are talking about, I just look around the apartment trying to find Lindsey, but there's no sign of her.

"Lindsey's at a photo-shoot but she should be back in half an hour, do you want something to drink?" Alex offers.

"Yeah sure" I answer before sitting down on the couch. Sara sits down next to me. A minute later Alex walks in with Dan in her arms.

"I think he wants to see you" Alex carefully puts him in my arms and goes to the kitchen to get us our drinks.

"Hey little human...it's been a while" He giggles as I play with his tiny hands. As I look down at him I think about the future. I know Lindsey and I just got back together but it already feels like we are a family. Will Dan call me his mom? I really hope so. I love him a lot. Sometimes I forget, that he's Michael's and not mine. It breaks my heart but I try not thinking about it.

"Can I hold him?" Sara asks shyly from beside me. I smile and hand Dan over to her. She cradles Dan in her arm with a huge grin on her face. The sight makes me incredibly happy. Alex walks back into the living room and puts our drinks on the table in front of us.

"So how was the t-" Before she could finish her sentence the front door flew open and Lindsey walked in carrying equipment and huge folders.

"Hey Alex could you help me please" She says with her back turn towards the living room, clearly not knowing that Sara and I are there too. I jump off the couch and hurry to help her.

"Let me help you Linds" I whisper into her ear from behind. Suddenly Lindsey drops all the stuff she carried and spins around to face me. Her face lights up as she sees me smiling at her. With a little squeal she throws herself at me, locking her ankles behind my back. I spin her around a couple times before setting her back on the ground. She pulls my head in for a breathtaking kiss. God I've missed that. We pull away as Sara clears her throat loudly, drawing our attention to her.

"Hey Sara" Lindsey greets happily and hold her hand out for Sara to shake but Sara pulls her in for a big hug.

"Thank you LB" I hear Sara whisper into her ear. The pull away and I can see Lindsey's gigantic smile. I put my arm over her shoulder silently thanking the Universe. I couldn't be happier.
