Chapter Two: Cancelling Plans Again!
"After she got off the phone Reggie was here beating the shit out of Trish and Sherry," Otto shivered at this remembering his sister's temper being terrifying "Believe me I was dumbstruck by the whole thing when I saw Reg," he explained.
"How long ago was that?" Keoni explained.
"During our freshman year at least for me anyway I think it was before you decided to move here in Ocean Shores and back then … I was … " Otto began to say with a distant look "I was in pretty bad shape… " he murmured.
Keoni winced at this "Yeah I remember that… we were all worried over you Otto," he pointed out.
"We all were… it was almost we barely recognize you Otto," Sam murmured.
"I know… and I'm sorry if I scared you guys… I was just … in a very, very bad place…" Otto murmured.
"Trust me we know… it's a good thing that Reggie and Clio managed to heal you back to your old self again if they didn't … who knows what could've happened…" Sam murmured.
Otto gave a slowly nod "Yeah… " he took a deep breath and sighed tiredly "And when it occured it was… after I was done with 4th period… so I had a free study period … so I wasn't really paying attention until I overheard some people talking about the fight, some were talking about Trish and Sherry were in really bad shape… and that's when I heard Reggie's name since … I wasn't aware she was home… last time I checked she was in London … only to find out she's home… you can't even imagine how dumbstruck I was when I saw her… " he explained.
"I remember Clio told me that," Sam began to say nodding at this cleaning his glasses with his shirt "From what Clio told me that she came home unannounced after learning … what happened between you and Trish… Reggie was pissed… and well I guess she must've snapped when she saw them ...words were exchange next thing I knew Clio was telling me they got in a huge argument….then she sees Reggie jump both Sherry and Trish by beating the shit out of them," he shakes his head; you can tell he's pretty stunned by the news "It just sucks that I never got a chance to see her… she was supposed to stay for two weeks due to spring break from her school but, was called due to a family emergency back in London…" he explained.
Koeni winced remembering that event knowing the messy break up between Otto and Trish in school "Oh yeah… I never got a chance to see her when she came here… that must've been… interesting," he murmured.
"Interesting are you kidding if it wasn't for Reg… that whore wouldn't have those scars on her face," Otto growled.
Koeni widen his eyes in horror "You mean Reggie did that to her," he squeaked at this causing Sam and Otto to nod at this "Including how she and Sherry has to wear a wig because of it," he whistled "Holy… shit… since when can she fight like that?" he explained.
Sam nodded at this "Yep. I was just as surprised as Twist and Otto were, Clio was the one who witness the whole thing that Lars got himself involved by trying to calm down Reggie who told me this. I never seen her that pissed before… I mean I see her pissed but, that angry … jeez…it was like something snapped in Reggie when she found out that Trish cheated on Otto for the 2nd time and don't even get me started the first time that happen that Reggie got so pissed that she broke two chairs, the round table that nearly cut Trent's head because of it" he shivered at this "Remind me not to get in her bad side," he explained causing the guys to chuckle and shivered knowing Reggie's temper is terrifying.
"I don't think anyone would want to be in Reggie's bad side Sam and I never did like that dude," Otto pointed out as he was the one that beat the crap out of Trent for breaking his sister's heart by cheating on her with Trish no less who was dating Otto that time. It was pretty messy between the two couples.
"True… very true…" Sam murmured.
"I don't think anyone did including me especially since I got the video from Clio who got it from one of her friends Veronica who witness the fight with her boyfriend Reggie. It was pretty bad," Keoni pointed out.
"Yeah it was…" Otto murmured.
Sam, Keoni and Otto were heading to Twister's house which was across the street from my house where I rang the doorbell where his mom Mrs. Rodriguez greeted them with a smile; as you can tell Mrs. Rodriguez is 5 ½ months pregnant expecting quintuplets just like Otto and Reggie's step mom Noelani so it's a bit surprise for both families; it would seem it brought Sandy and Noelani close due to the pregnancy since they're expecting quintuplets together.
"Oh, hello boys,?" Mrs. Rodriguez asked sweetly.
"Hi Mrs. Rodriguez," Sam, Keoni and I greeted Twister's mom.
"Are you here for Maurice?" Mrs. Rodriguez asked.
"Yes, we're here to see Twister," Sam greeted him cleaning his glasses "Is he awake by any chance?"
"Of course, he is, let me just get him come on in boys," Mrs. Rodriguez explained.
Otto's P.O.V.
Despite everything Sandy, known as Mrs. Rodriguez and Noelani, Otto's and Reggie's step mom are both expecting quintuplets being 5 ½ months pregnant even though they look like they're more than that but, they're not so they're preparing for the baby shower this summer since they wanted to be prepared for the outcome. Apparently they both expecting different sexes of the baby-Mrs. Rodriguez is expecting three girls and two boys while Noelani, being Mrs. Rocket, 2nd wife to Raymundo is expecting three boys and two girls weird right?
I know Reggie, Keoni, Twister, Sam and I thought it was a bit weird but, what can you do. We can't really do anything but, be happy for them. I know I'm excited to see my soon to be siblings but, I couldn't wait to be their hero knowing Reggie she'll probably be in the same position as I am.
"Maurice your friends are here mijo," Mrs. Rodriguez yells for Twister snapping me out of my thoughts you can say I have a lot in mind this past few weeks.
"Coming mama," Twister answered as he closed his bedroom door as he was stumbling over his shirt, hopping in one foot and headed downstairs in a hurry that he didn't noticed that his mom gave him a stern look despite how she's pregnant like my step mom she's still a bit protective with Twister and Lars.
"Maurice how many times must I tell you not to run in the house mijo," Mrs. Rodriguez scolded her son who in return gave a sheepishly smile.
Twister sighed giving his mom a kiss on the cheek despite how he's hopping in one foot by stumbling down the stairs "Sorry mom," he answered.
"Maurice?" Mrs. Rodriguez scolded her son "How many times did I tell you not to leave your stuff on the floor you can hurt yourself," she explained. Twister however knew how his mom was so he sighed tiredly.
"I'm sorry mama I'll try to remember that next time and please try to relax since you're carrying for six people in there," Twister answered.
"Trust me mijo I am relaxed I just don't want you to hurt yourself that's all," Mrs. Rodriguez explained.
"I know mama I know," Twister murmured.
Sam, Keoni and I waited for Twister to get ready until I saw Clio running downstairs wearing a sundress with her Prada zebra print bag just like Reggie's excepts hers was pink while my sisters was purple. Speaking of my sister I was told by my dad that she's coming home in two weeks instead of a month as he was very ecstatic. I'm pretty sure my sister gave the same emails to my dad since I was reminded repeatedly that my sister is coming home in two weeks not a month since he's not the only person who talks to her but, I can tell he's really missing Reggie like crazy we both do.
Every since my sister Reggie left it hasn't been the same since she's been gone not that she missed a lot but, since she attended to a private boarding school in London while everyone else in Ocean Shores thinks she's in New York hah not even Trent knew her whereabouts which I made sure that no one knows but, the guys knew her location—it started to change once I reached my teen years—13 years old to be exact only because I'm hiding a big huge secret from my sister… it made me feel guilty over it but, my dad told me there's a slight chance she might be one too...but, only time can tell.
The last time we both saw Reggie was … maybe 2 ½ years ago during her spring break from London—I was trying to remember she was in her sophomore year when I last saw her—apparently Clio told her about my break up with Trish and—let's just say I'd call it my dark days…it's not something I talk about. Anyway, when my dad and my step mom Noelani went to their honeymoon they went to Greece and well apparently they're expecting a baby; I know I was shocked too but, then again I always wanted a little brother or sister as long as they're healthy along with my step mom of course then you know I wouldn't have to worry so much since it's a huge responsibility but, it's still good though I'm just glad that my dad finally happy after what happen to my mom.
It's been nearly three years since I saw my sister Reggie in spring break—well she was in spring break at the time but, that was when she found out about my break up with Trish—long story short I haven't seen her since then since she's been extra busy with school. Apparently, it's a bit different then down here in Ocean Shores.
My dad and my step mom Noelani decided to start a family and a few weeks later they announced they're expecting a baby well quintuplets after getting back from London visiting my sister for their 2nd honeymoon it was Reggie's present for their wedding anniversary and let's just say they both decided to celebrate more than I thought including Twister's parents since it was also their wedding anniversary who knew anyway I know things been changing since the guys and I went to Hawaii for vacation and for the surfing competition.
I didn't realize that time that my dad wanted to move on after what happened to my mom although at first I wasn't exactly okay with it but, after realizing that I wanted my dad to be happy, Reggie and I both do despite how it's sensitive for us to talk about we both did wanted our dad to be happy and Noelani apparently made him very happy. (a/n: Keoni is Tito's nephew who's now living with his favorite uncle since his parents are now living in New Zealand so they left Keoni to live with his uncle Tito to continue his education with his friends till he graduates high school; Keoni is also becoming a big brother to another set of quintuplets and couldn't wait to see his siblings to be -apparently it's a tradition kind of thing)
"Hey Otto man hold up," Twister began to say racing downstairs where he turned to his left side where he saw his mom making some food "Hey mama I'm going to head to Mad Town with Otto and the guys for hockey practice okay," he explained.
"Okay mijo just be back before midnight sharp that's your curfew no later than that mijo," his mom yelled from the kitchen.
"Got it mama," Twister yelled grabbing his skateboard and roller skates, his camera and his helmet so we can head to Mad Town where Clio got another text from someone.
"Hey guys," Clio greeted us without looking back.
"Hey Clio who you texting?" Sam asked.
"Someone…" Clio murmured clearing her throat.
"Who?" I asked.
"Don't worry about it Otto," Clio ignored my question "It's not like we're dating," she explained
I was about to argue but, Sam shook his head "Otto just let it go it's probably nothing," he whispered.
"Fine…" I grumbled.
Apparently, she's been texting this mysterious person from the past 20 minutes and stopped with a horror expression on her face; did I mention that Twister and his brother Lars parents are expecting a baby too—quintuplets like we are. I know crazy and weird, right? Eh if Reggie and I have both brother and sister who would look up to us then I'm down for anything. I always wanted a little brother anyway but, either way I'm glad that my dad is happy. He deserves to be happy after what happen to my mom that was until Clio got another text from who I have no idea she refused to tell me anything.
"Uh oh… hold on guys got another text," Clio announced.
"Come on Clio you can text them later when we go to Mad Town since we have to practice for the hockey tournament remember," I complained.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know let me just— "Clio began to say scrolling through her texts messages then her eyes widen in horror and swore under her breath in Spanish turning to Twister who looked confuse "Damn it hold the door Maurice and tell Lars he owes me one!" she announced before either of us can answer she raced upstairs so fast that we didn't realize she already left leaving me to blankly stare at her on how she did do that so fast when Twister scratched his head all confuse.
"What for?" Twister asked.
Clio stopped upstairs pursued her lips for a long moment slightly turning to Twister "He just does," she announced racing back to her bedroom or another wild guess—Lars bedroom since no one is allowed in his room except himself—not even Twister goes in there unless it was an emergency.
"But, why does he—" Twister winced at this knowing Lars isn't a morning person grabbing Sam's watch and sighed "You do know he's not going to like that you're waking him up since we both know he's not a morning person and—ah you know what never mind," he mumbled under his breath in Spanish.
"HEY LARS, WAKE UP!" Clio exclaimed where we heard a loud thump from one of the bedrooms where I should guess that was from Lars where I overheard him grumbling.
"What the hell—Clio what are you doing—" Lars exclaimed and heard a loud thump where she mumbled something in Spanish "Wait what—" as we heard a bed creak "What I thought she wasn't supposed to come in two weeks" he cried out as Clio continued to talk as I overheard them talking thanks to my werewolf hearing but, couldn't because they're talking in Spanish "Ah crap," he swore under his breath "Do you mind I need to change Clio," he grumbled.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not like I haven't seen anything before," Clio snorted at this "Oh and by the way...you need to take care of that little problem of yours," she explained.
Lars flushed "Seriously Clio!?"" he snapped.
"Just saying…jeez… someone woke up from the wrong side of bed this morning," Clio told him.
"You're the one who woke me up Clio," Lars snapped "Do you mind I need to get ready," he explained.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah" Clio waved it off "Hurry up will you we have to go like NOW?!" she snapped.
"I'm coming, I'm coming give me at least 10 minutes to get ready will you," Lars snapped as he raced to the bathroom and got ready. However, Clio went to her room to grab something and practically skipped down the stairs ignoring my gawking look.
"What was that about Clio?" Twister asked.
"Oh nothing…" Clio grinned evilly causing Twister to wince at this "I just reminded him on that big favor that he owes me," she explained.
"What big favor?" Sam asked.
"Nothing for your pretty head to worry about Sammy," Clio perked up beaming at this.
Sam and Twister stared at Clio with a suspiciously look "Clio… what did you do?" Sam asked.
"Nothing…" Clio smiled innocently "Yet…Reggie is going to love me," she giggled at this "That reminds me I need to call Reggie," she explained.
"Wouldn't she be busy with school?" Keoni asked.
"Probably but, I know her schedule in the back of my head so it's fine," Clio waved it off texting away to Reggie not that I would know but, I just shrug it off since I know it's nothing to worry about "Did you guys hear that she's coming home in two weeks," she explained.
"Yeah we just heard from Otto apparently she's coming home early than planned," Sam explained.
"I know I'm so excited to see her," Clio replied excitedly.
"Us either it's been so long since I saw her," Sam pointed out.
"Yeah I haven't seen her since…the uh … fight…" Clio began to say slowly turning to me "How long ago was that again?" she explained.
"Nearly three years Clio," I pointed out.
"Wow … it's been that long huh?" Clio asked.
"Yep," I told her.
"Who knew it would be that long since we last saw Reggie," Clio began to say with a tired sigh "It felt like it was only yesterday when I told her about your break up with Trish and then… BAM?!" she cried out causing us to jump "Like it was nothing. I don't know how she came all the way here under an hour from London… that must've be a very fast jet plane," she explained mumbling under her breath in Spanish.
"Believe me we all were," I explained.
Although I could ask Twister what they're talking about but, he waved it off stating it's a family thing between Clio and Lars since it's not up for discussion and shouldn't meddle into people's business.
I just gave a blank look and shrugged it off not wanting to be a big deal but, I felt curious but, at the same time I wasn't since it really wasn't my business between them anyway. As for my secret that I've been hiding from my friends… well at first I had difficult hiding this secret but, it slowly helped that I wasn't alone in this apparently Keoni is a warrior fairy in Noelani and Tito's side since they're both warrior fairies it's a Hawaiian thing but, for my family… let's just say we're … different...as we're not human as everyone in Ocean Shores first thought. I mean we look human obviously just… have powers so whenever I go to patrol I would go with Keoni who brought his two friends Henry, Toby and Caleb who are mixed hybrid not a lot of people would be mixed into two but, it's very rare for someone to be like that so whenever we patrol we would make sure there's no trouble around Ocean Shores.
How is that possible that I can hear from a few feet away even in short or far distance … well I just learned from my dad that he's a werewolf; yeah you heard right? Well my dad is an elder for the wolf pack in his side of his family … I mean how else do you think I can hear things apparently my dad's a werewolf and my mom were a fairy with wings and everything. When I learned this secret, my jaw dropped and then fainted.
Once I got up from being unconscious for two hours I asked my dad what happen where he told me I fainted… then got quiet feeling a bit conflicted and asked him if Reggie knew this he just shook his head telling me she doesn't have any idea but, Noelani my step mom gave my dad a stern 'you better tell him everything' look which left my dad to shift uncomfortable and quickly told me there's a slight chance that Reggie might be a werewolf, fairy or even both but, we can never be too careful so he told me to keep my distance on certain people which is what I did I kept my distance from a lot of people including my ex-girlfriend Trish until Lars interrupted my train of thought.
"Yo lil bro where are you heading?" Lars asked putting on his beanie hat grumbling under his breath in Spanish something about Clio waking him up from a good dream or something that left me to shrug not wanting to know.
"Madtown" Twister began to say where he slowly turned around holding his breath "I have hockey practice I promise Otto and the guys that I wouldn't miss it since we haven't had a chance to practice yet," he explained.
Lars shakes his head in disappointment "Well I hate to break it to you dork but, you have to cancel your plans because apparently abuela esta en el aeropuerto asi que tenemos que rocogerla," he explained (translation: grandma is at the airport so we have to pick her up)
"But, Lars why can't you and Clio just picked abuela up at the airport without me," Twister complained.
"Just do what your told lil bro," Lars starts to say in a dark tone which left Twister to shift uncomfortable then slowly turns to me "Oh and uhh Rock—I mean Otto," he explained.
"Yeah…." I asked.
Ever since Lars turned 15 years old, he stopped bullying us the minute Reggie left to a private boarding school in London. I'm not even sure what happened between them but, somehow Lars changed over that summer; it was like he grew mature in a way… like he stopped bullying us and had more responsibilities or something.
It was really weird to be honest… but, after my break up with Trish twice … I'm not sure something changed… between Lars and Reggie it was like they made a sacred promise to each other, to look after me and the guys despite how I can take care of myself without my knowledge but, after my break up with Trish that left me in a bad, bad place… in some ways … Lars helped me heal … but, not like Reggie and Clio though mostly Clio… she helped me heal from my messy break up with Trish from being in a bad place to my old self again until I became a werewolf that's when I knew I had to grow up from there. Lars however, kept his promise to look after me but, it didn't stop Otto from trying to beat Lars and his friends from hockey from time to time despite how Lars changed over the years like from being a bully to outgrew his bullying days once he turned 15 years old.
"My brother can't go with you guys to practice," Lars announced leaving the guys and I confuse. Sometimes he can be a decent guy but, not always though.
"How come?" Koeni asked.
"Because we're picking our abuela, she texted me stating that she arrived at the airport two weeks early than planned," Clio babied Twister's cheek which left him to protest "And wanted to see her little grandson Maurice to greet her," she cooed over her cousin.
"Oh, come on Clio why do you and Reg keep doing that," Twister grumbled causing us to laugh.
"Bussssst," Sam, Koeni, and I laughed "Awe little Maurice is growing up," we teased him.
"Very funny guys," Twister grumbled rubbing his cheeks "Do you really have to do that Clio I mean it's bad enough with Reg but, not you too," he complained.
"Because we're older than you and we can do whatever we want Maurice—speaking of Reggie have you guys talked to her lately?" Clio explained putting her hair up where I could've sworn I saw Lars blush but, coughed it off mumbling under his breath in Spanish.
"Yeah I just talked to her a few weeks ago last I heard she's been studying for finals at her school and we just got an email that she's coming home in two weeks. Didn't you get the message?" Sam answered putting his helmet on.
"Well she—" Clio began to say looking down on her cell phone with another *beep* beep* vibrate sound causing her to give a long-tired sigh "Damn it… be right back Lars. I have to grab something really quick apparently Abuela wants me to grab something for her," she announced once again she race upstairs so quick before Lars can answer, however he didn't pay much attention as he rolled his eyes turning to Twister who dragged his duffle bag full of stuff putting them inside the truck.
"Fine with me," Lars announced turning to his brother and his friends "Hey lil bro tell Clio I'll be warming up the car before we head out," he shrugged his shoulders heading to his Hummer Truck Toyota apparently his parents gave it to him and turn on the radio playing some rock punk music in blast waiting by the side street before Twister can protest "No excuses dork, you heard what mom said we have to aid Abuela you know how she is especially when mom's pregnant with the quints who's coming within 4 1/2 months we have to be prepared for their arrival you know that," he pointed out.
"Yeah but, but, but, but, but," Twister protested at this only Lars gave a glower look.
"I know you made plans for hockey practice but, Abulela is here we have to pick her up no excuses," Lars argued back "Since she's not used to the city remember,"
Twister sighed kicking the floor in defeat "Okay… okay…" he began to say turning to me with a half smile noticing my irritated look "Sorry Ottoman I know we have the championships coming up … but, we're going to have to rain check on hockey practice…because— "where he stopped noticing Lars giving him a glower icy dark look "I uh forgot about the whole picking up my Abuela she was supposed to arrive in 2 weeks but, couldn't wait any longer and came early. I'll make it up to you Otto man," he explained as he skated away to get inside Lars Rammer Trunk.
Before I can answer Clio raced back meeting up with her cousins then gave us a sweet smile "Bye Otto, bye Sammy bye Keoni we'll meet you guys at the Shack around… 8:00ish in the latest kay?" Clio began to say giving us a kiss on the cheek "Toddles," she waved us goodbye.
"But, Clio the champ— "I was cut off where she shushes me by kissing me on the lips which left me to freeze and stared at her in shock then kissed me on the cheek.
"Will you relax Otto you do know the championships isn't for another six months, right?" Clio asked ignoring my gawking stunned look.
"Yeah but, but, but, but, but—" I was cut off by Clio who kissed me hard on the lips causing me to stare at her with wide eyes "The championships…" he murmured.
"I know, you told us so many times we don't need a reminder Otto," Clio sighed not really paying attention as she was too busy reapplying her lip gloss and heard another *beep* *beep* text and gave a smack kiss sound "With us being so busy all the time while we're balancing that with school and work," she argued back.
"Exactly since we've been so busy we finally managed to balance our schedule and yet we haven't got a chance to mmph—"I was cut off by Clio only this time she kissed me hard that I didn't realize I dropped my skateboard, hockey sticks while Sam and Koeni dropped their jaws staring at us kissing while I just stared at her stunned with my eyes bug out in shock "Practice…" he drifted off being quiet which was very unlike me from the startled kiss. I wasn't expecting her to do that since we're good friends but, now… I honestly don't know.
"I know you want to beat these guys but, will you take a chill pill and relax Otto. The championships aren't for another six months from now, so we have plenty of time to practice despite our busy schedule at school and work. I know we've been busy all the time with work, with school, and everything but, it's not like we asked for this Otto… " Clio softly began to say which I licked my lips nervously about to argue but, she cut me off "I know you don't want to hear this but, you can even go to the beach to relax or something. Maurice and I will be out of there before you know it okay so just… relax okay…" she explained.
"Wh—why—why would you— kiss me like that?" I asked.
Unfortunately, Clio didn't hear me as she was looking away "Jeez it's not that big of a deal," she scoffed at this "Just go to the beach and surf Otto," she argued back.
"Not… not a big deal.." I grumbled under my breath "Of course it's a big deal … you know it is," I cried out.
"Okay look… " Clio sighed tiredly staring at me trying to calm me down by rubbing my shoulders which left me to shiver not sure why but, it did "You need to RELAX macho man I know you're stubborn or whatever but, you seriously need to RELAX okay…I don't know how I put up with you especially Reggie no wonder she always looked stressed over you," she sighed flipping her hair causing me to gawk at her about to argue but, she kept cutting me off "Besides I should get going… Lars and Maurice are waiting for me," she then muttered under her breath in Spanish then gave us a hug and raced over to the car until she stopped by slightly turned to me with this look on her face walking up to me "You should close your mouth you don't want any flies to come in do you… " which I immediately close my mouth but, was about to protest but, she cut me off "I didn't think so… byeeee boys," she explained giving a wave racing inside to Lars inside his trunk as they drove off.
'What the hell—was that...' I sighed inside my thoughts 'Why would she kiss me…'
"Did she just—why would she say it's not a big deal of course it's a big deal a huge, huge deal and—" I grumbled under her breath stopped mid-sentence causing Sam and Keoni to slow nod at this and shrugged it off "Ah… jeez… this is going to bug the hell out of me," I grumbled under my breath and took a deep breath yelling after Twister "TWIST YOU CAN'T JUST BAIL ON US AGAIN!? SAM, KOENI LET'S GO!" I ordered them. Sam and Koeni yelped, who followed after me with their skateboards.
"Otto wait for us," Sam and Keoni yelled after me not far behind.
"TWIST?! GET BACK HERE" I yelled after them skating ahead of Sam and Keoni "WHAT ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS WE HAVEN'T HAD ONE PRACTICE SINCE THE FINALS!? TWIST!" I cried out ignoring the fact that my lips are tingling I can smell the lip gloss that Clio had which was kiwi strawberry; hmm…
"Get it over it! They'll be back before tonight considering the championships aren't for another six months so you got plenty of time relax Rocket dork!" Lars screamed back clearly irritated as he drove off with Twister and Clio.
"But, but, but, but, but, but—" I sputtered at this "You can't be serious!? How can I relax since this isn't the first time he ditched us whenever we make plans for hockey practice"
"Oh, I'm dead serious," Lars growled where I could've sworn his eyes glowed that left me to froze in my spot "You'll see him later Rocket dork," he exclaimed and drove off leaving me to gawk standing there in my spot like an idiot; what the hell just happened back there… I didn't even notice that Keoni or Sam been trying to call my name to gain my attention from the past 20 minutes since clearly, I was deep into my thoughts clearly irritated that Twist bailed on us hockey practice AGAIN!
"Otto…"
[no answer] …
"Hey Otto…"
[no answer] …
"Otto?"
[no answer] …
"OTTO!?" Keoni and Sam exclaimed causing me to jump from their outburst.
"Huh what?" I asked turning to my friends I guess I was too deep into my thoughts to hear that Sam and Keoni been calling my name from the past twenty minutes to notice "What's up Squid?"
Sam sighed pinching his nose knowing Otto being his stubborn self "We've been calling for you from the past—" he looked at his watch "20 minutes or so. Do you still want to go Madtown for hockey practice or what?" he explained.
"Well we could if half of our team isn't always cancelling on us squid every time hockey practice comes up," I growled in irritation that left Sam and Keoni looked at each other with worried looks and made a mental kick on the ground sighing knowing Reggie would scold me for yelling at our friends again even when she's away in boarding school she still has a huge effect on me being the mama bear in our family "I'm sorry Sam… I'm just a bit irritated that Twist keeps cancelling on us whenever we try to make plans for hockey practice." I cried out in frustration kicking the floor in anger.
Sam gave a slowly nod "It's cool Otto I get it…I mean Twist has been cancelling on us a lot lately but, you heard Clio their grandma texted her to let them know that she arrived early than planned considering she's probably coming for the baby shower that's coming up in August but, at least she's going to help Mrs. Rodriguez with the baby shower just like Reggie will help Noelani and everything," he pointed out.
"Yeah… I know…" I kicked the floor knowing he's right but, I was too stubborn to listen to reason but, I'll put the drama aside for today "Come on guys let's get outta here we might as well… postpone hockey practice since we're missing two of our players in our team… and head off to the Shore Shack to eat or something?" I offered ignoring that feeling in my stomach that Clio just kissed me.
Sam and Koeni looked at each other with a shrug "Sure okay…" they both answered as we rode our bikes to the Shore Shack.
"Great…" I sarcastically replied; I couldn't believe my best bro ditch us to pick up his grandma at the airport. I mean this isn't the first time he bailed on us though at first it was just Lars and Clio by themselves but, ever since Twister turned 13 they would always bring him along with them no matter how many times he tried to explain or apologize although with my situation is a bit different than his… oh well whatever it was he owes us big time. It better be worth the drive to the airport that's for sure.
Lars's P.O.V. (a/n: this was before Lars and the guys overheard Otto say "Twist you can't just bail on us again the championships around the corner," he exclaimed. I yelled back "Get it over it dork! They'll be back soon!" and headed out to train-Lars saw that Clio kissed Otto on the cheek first then kissed him right on the mouth unfortunately Lars saw that-he had a feeling it was to shut Rocket dork unfortunately Twister didn't see this as he was too occupied now looking at his videos from yesterday)
"Finally! What the heck took so long!" I complained despite how I just saw my cousin Clio kiss Otto hard on the lips twice who looked stunned from this encounter apparently my little brother didn't noticed since he's too focus looking at his video camera after telling Otto that he couldn't make it to hockey practice whenever this happens Twister would make another excuse whenever they made plans; this time we had a good excuse sort of our grandma from my dad's side arrived two weeks early but, like I said it was just another excuse we don't really have to pick her up but, neither of them knew that since I had to train both Clio and Maurice for the outcome, teaching them some combat moves that my friends and I came up with.
"Sorry I had to grab something really quick," Clio quickly answered as she looked like she did a run marathon to get inside my hummer trunk, her face was completely flushed from her kiss with Otto.
However, I had a feeling my cousin Clio and Otto *imprint* on each other but, neither of them said anything so I wasn't completely sure. How do I know that Otto was a werewolf? Well it didn't take a rocket science to figure it out but, I'm a bit surprised that my brother didn't even noticed not even Clio as she kept her emotions to herself.
"Uh huh… sure" I sarcastically says not believing her for one second "Let's just get this over with since I have to meet up with the guys later," he explained.
"Sure," Clio mumbled under her breath in Spanish as I drove ahead looking both ways from the stop signs and headed to our original spot.
"So, what was that about back there?" I asked.
"What was what?" Clio asked innocently. I gave her a glower 'I know what you did,' look where she gave a sigh "It was the only way to shut him up Lars," she argued back.
"Shut up who" Twister asked.
"No one Maurice," Clio smiled sweetly causing my brother to look up so confuse.
"Uh … okay sure whatever," Twister murmured under his breath.
"You know we're going to have that 'the serious talk' later since it's the last thing in my mind right now," I murmured under my breath.
"And yet you're talking about it Lars I told you it's not a big deal?" Clio argued back.
"What's not a big deal?" Twister asked between our conversation.
"Nothing Maurice," Clio and I answered causing Twister flushed.
"I told you guys it's Twister," Twister huffed at this since we're a few blocks away from home "And why is it whenever I make plans we have to go training or patrol the forest again," he complained.
"Shhh Maurice," Clio covered his mouth rather quickly as he widens his eyes while we looked around and stopped the edge of the street "Are you trying to blurt out for the whole neighborhood to hear us you know it's against the rules," she hissed at this.
"No...I just want to know what you guys are talking about," Twister murmured since Clio was covering his mouth.
"Don't worry about it Maurice… it's nothing …" Clio murmured.
"Are you sure," Twister muffled at this.
"Positive it's nothing baby cousin," Clio murmured.
"You can't just blurt out Twist it's dangerous …" I hissed at him causing Twister to mumble an apology while I looked around—we were in the clear whew as I sighed in relief "Oh good… no one heard you… you are so lucky we're far enough for anyone to hear us," he explained.
The Simpletons aren't exactly the nicest lot well that's not true Mrs. Simpleton was but, not her husband though he's very grumpy and doesn't like kids but, I learned from my parents when I was about 5 it was before Reggie and I stopped being friends that they have three sons who we used to have play dates with but, once we got older they moved away and kept our distance from them since then. I was told to keep away but, with the neighbor kids growing up, how could I? It would only be Reggie and I to have play dates with one another since our parents are close and everything.
"Sorry," Twister mumbled as Clio's hand was covering his mouth and let's go pausing for a moment "You know it's not my fault that I had to bail on Otto and the guys Clio he's going to end up complaining and ask me what's up… it's hard enough as it is that I'm hiding this secret from him since I was 13 it's been like this since Reggie left and he's my best bro since I have been missing practice these past few weeks we haven't got a chance to practice since I became a wolf and been extra busy since we just won the finals and all that. He's already suspicious as it is," he complained.
"Yeah well … I'm sure he'll get over it Maurice he usually does," Clio argued back flipping her hair over her shoulder.
"You don't know that Clio… he's going to hold this against me and it's starting to get bad as it is," Twister protested continuing to complain about this.
"And how exactly would he get over it Clio…" I stiffly replied.
It's one of the places where I usually train with Clio and Maurice to learn some combat moves but, we moved to another location over the woods where I could've sworn she smirked at me.
"I have my ways Lars… I have my ways," Clio murmured.
"I don't know if I want to know," I murmured under my breath in Spanish.
I rolled my eyes knowing this as I saw her kiss Otto on the lips it was a matter of time before they got together… which I'm a bit conflicted over this but, at the same time it's someone I know and trust completely… so I'm going to have to get use to that so does Maurice but, he's a bit slow so I decided to keep it to myself for now. Once we reached to the forest where the steep mountains were that's when we grabbed our things to find a decent spot to train.
"Okay guys we're going to try different combat moves mixing it up from what we learned yesterday," I replied where we grabbed our sticks to train a few times until it was time to head home which was hours away from nowhere Clio flipped Twister to the ground once more.
"Great I told Otto and the guys that we're meeting them at the Shack by 8:00 Lars you think we can stop from there and pick it up tomorrow?" Clio explained.
I shrugged my shoulders "That's perfectly fine I'm going to meet up with the guys by then anyway," I pointed out.
"Cool," Twister answered "Maybe by then I'll figure out what to tell—"who was cut off by Clio who flipped him off to the ground which left me to wince
Clio sighs "Rule number 1 never get distracted. You have to pay attention Maurice we're still training," she pointed out. Twister mumbled under his breath in Spanish "I heard that," she flatly replied.
"I didn't say anything," Twister protested.
Clio gave him 'Are you serious considering we're from the same blood family and I can understand you when you speak Spanish' look and use her double twist that left Twister to fall in the ground again "Rule number 2 don't piss me off Maurice," she sweetly says that left my brother to shiver.
"Sorry Clio," Twister mumbled.
Clio shrugged "You're lucky you're my cousin Maurice," she pointed out.
Sam's P.O.V.
In the other side of Ocean Shores Otto, Sam and Koeni were supposed to head to Madtown for hockey practice only to be canceled again so they ended up going to the Shore Shack to kill time. After Twister and Clio both left with Lars to pick up their grandma at the airport a few hours ago. Clio and Sam been texting non stop since they left.
"Hey Clio, what was that kiss with Otto about?" I asked.
"Nothing…."
"Clio…."
Clio sighed "It was the only way to shut him up… from complaining the whole day, don't think so much about the kiss Sammy it's nothing …"
"Clio … you know you can tell me, right? I'm not going to tell them or judge,"
"I know I can trust you Sammy… but, I'm still confused …I thought my feelings for him went away,"
"You mean you used to have feelings for Otto before?!"
"Maybe…I only told Reggie and she told me to really think about it if my feelings for Otto are sincere real or not?"
"And she didn't freak out?"
"Oh she did but, she put that aside noticing my expression was serious and sighed telling me that I should really rethink the whole thing and do a pro/con list over Otto telling me that whatever my decision either or not to tell Otto about my feelings for him she'll be supportive my relationship either I'm with him or not,"
"And….?"
"Well…. I never really confirmed if it was real because that's when Otto told us that he's dating Trish remember,"
"Oh…. right… that must've stung huh…"
"It wasn't a big deal…"
"It broke your heart didn't it?"
"A little but, I got over it at least I thought I did… now I'm just confuse,"
"Well… if you need someone to talk too you can always talk to me. I'm always got your back Clio,"
"Thanks Sammy and when I figure out these feelings you and Reggie will be the first two people I'll tell promise,"
"Good, wait you're not going to tell Twister or Lars?"
"Are you kidding!? They would've freak out especially Lars he's been oddly protective with me being like an older brother to me despite he's my cousin,"
"Right, of course he is,"
"Yeah despite how he used to bully you guys he changed over the years too and I think Reggie noticed how much he changed Sammy?"
"Oh, really and how would Reggie know Lars changed?"
"I may've gave her some videos… of Lars…and let's just say she was blushing quite red whenever Lars takes off his shirt off, "
I gave a chuckled where Otto stared at me oddly "What's so funny squid?" he asked not paying attention since I was about to text Clio but, I was too busy laughing over the text that Clio gave me. I always had a feeling that Lars has feelings for Reggie since we were kids but, now it just confirmed my suspicions.

"Sam?"
[no answer] …
"Sam….?"
[no answer] …
"SAM!?" Otto exclaimed causing me to yelp.
"Huh what? What is it Otto?"
Otto looked frustrated "I asked you what's so funny? You were laughing weirdly?"
Sam looked at his cell phone away in his pocket, so Otto won't read his text messages with Clio that would've be horrible on both accounts "Uhh—I was just watching a funny video," which gave Otto and Koeni looked at me oddly "Yeah a funny video about a dog… uh … peeing… on the ocean?" I lied.
Otto gave an ewe face "Uh… ewe how is that even funny that's gross especially in the ocean?" he pointed out.
"Yeah… yeah … definitely was," I lied and gave a quick text over the last message after the messages from this afternoon from Clio after telling her that Otto's been complaining since we arrived in Shore Shack.
"I had a feeling he would be…you just let me take care of Otto," Clio gave a wink emoji "And you guys will be fine," she explained.
I just shook my head knowing how Clio knew how to calm down Otto down since he tends to take some things out of proportion. Sam wasn't a bit surprised since they always been close. Clio and Otto gained a close relationship after what happen to Clio's parents who instantly got killed or when Otto and Trish messy break up.

I'm on a roll today but, I didn't get any reviews from you guys… so I'm a bit sad come on guys this is a really good story despite how it's based on Twilight I made it different and it's on Rocket Power version. Pleaseee give it a chance pleaseee if you do I'll add more chapters and updated my stories this week.
