Cards

Rip was in the middle of one of his usual ramblings which equaled major boredom. It was double the boredom too because it was science and math talk. Luckily, Leonard came up with a better idea quickly.

"Sara cards. My room. Now." Leonard called back as he was walking to his room. Sara got up to follow but something made them both stop.

"Mind if I join you guys?" Jax quietly called out. Just because he was the mechanic didn't mean that he wanted to listen to science talk all day. And besides, he was getting a little homesick and he thought playing cards might alleviate some of that. He played euchre with all the other guys in the shop all the time so he thought it might be comforting. Besides, Sara and Leonard went off to play cards all the time and somehow didn't get bored so he wanted to see what they were about.

"I'm gonna have to deny that request." Leonard drawled back. Sara would never admit this to anyone, but she loved Leonard's drawl. It made her go weak in the knees.

"Yeah I second that. Let's go Leonard."

Unfortunately Jax didn't stop following them. They only acknowledged him though when they got to Leonard's room. Getting the feeling that he wasn't going to leave, he sighed. "You really wanna play cards with us?"

"Uh yeah. That's why I asked."

Len made eye contact with Sara, just to be sure they were on the same page. They were and he let Jax in the room. He promptly shut the door and then proceeded to start kissing Sara. And it looked to Jax as if they had no intention of stopping, so he interjected.

"What the hell guys?" Jax yelled, being way more than confused.

"Yeah so cards has kind of become a euphemism. I'm pretty sure you can figure out what for though." Sara responded. It was evident Jax then that there was something going on between the two. And it looked like more than just a hookup because Leonard had his hand around her waist and they were holding hands, and for Captain Cold, that meant serious. The whole team learned very early on that the crook was not the touchy feely type.

"Ok what's going on between you two?"

"What does it look like Einstein?" Snart shot back, in typical snarky form.

"Got it. So how long has this been going on and does anybody else know about it? Also is this what you guys do every time you say you're going to play cards?"

Sara decided to answer these questions. "Um this has been a thing for a couple weeks now, nobody else on the ship knows, and no we sometimes actually play cards. And we would really appreciate it if you kept this a secret."

"Why?"

"We just don't want everyone all up in our business. We need time to figure out us before having the whole team coming down us." Was her response, which still managed to surprise Jax a little. It still amazed him how someone so deadly could talk so soft and sweet. No wonder Leonard fell for her, he thought to himself.

"It's cool I won't tell anybody else. In fact, I'll leave you guys alone to do whatever. And don't tell me what you're planning on doing because I don't want to know. Either way."

"See you later then!" Sara went to say but Jax was already gone and Leonard was already kissing her neck.
