It had been another quiet few weeks. Kagome knew that she should appreciate it; the only time it wasn't quiet was when several people were dead. But Kagome was starting to feel that itch again.

During those few weeks though, Kagome had gotten the chance to grow closer to her team, especially Sesshomaru. After getting that first case out of the way, Sesshomaru seemed to back off and stop judging Kagome, which allowed Kagome to release that breath and do her job. With the help of her teammates, Kagome gradually became more comfortable working more cases.

During their off time the team got together and hung out, and Kagome was able to see a completely different side of Sesshomaru. While at work he was serious and focused, when they were hanging out Sesshomaru was much more outgoing than Kagome had expected. He was friendly and although he never got drunk with the team, he was still a lot of fun.

Sesshomaru had appreciated his time with Kagome as well. She was smart and could hold an interesting conversation. She also didn't throw herself at him like most women did because of his looks. She seemed to relax more and more with each week.

Kagome was filling out some more mindless paperwork when another case was called in. Kagome could already tell that it was an interesting by the odd look on Kikyo's face as she walked past their desks. "Everyone in the conference room," the media liaison said over her shoulder as she walked by.

Inuyasha stood and cracked his knuckles. "About time. I was starting to lose my mind with all this paperwork."

Sango frowned. "You don't mean that. Someone's dead."

Inuyasha blushed and although Kagome felt bad, she couldn't help but agree with him. "That's not what I meant," Inuyasha stuttered. "I'm just getting bored is all."

Miroku grinned. "Well let's find out what evil awaits us before Sesshomaru scolds us for being late."

Manila folders already sat at their seats at the table when they walked into the conference room. Sesshomaru and Koga were waiting as well, an impatient look on the former's face. The four agents quickly look their seats and looked sheepishly at their information. Kikyo indicated to the board. "Austin has what looks to be a vigilante killer."

Inuyasha groaned. "Damn. Those are the worst."

Kagome looked at him with a slight frown. "Why?"

"The public, and sometimes even the police, tend to take the side of the vigilante," Koga explained. "It's makes our job a little bit more difficult because few are willing to give up any information, and it makes us look bad that we're out to arrest someone who seems to be doing a public service."

"It doesn't matter though," Sesshomaru insisted. "The public can't take the law into their own hands. Continue," he said to Kikyo.

Kikyo nodded. "Four victims so far, three men and one woman, all shot in the forehead, execution-style. Each victim was charged with a crime but never convicted. They always managed to get off on a technicality."

"So we're probably looking for someone with access to all of their records," Miroku suggested.

"Not necessarily," Sango said. "These were all pretty publicized. Anyone who reads the paper or watches the news would know about these releases."

"Well that limits the pool," Inuyasha mumbled.

"We'll try to narrow our list on the plane," Sesshomaru said. "Wheels up in 30."
