"Jake, is this necessary?" Erin laughed as she stumbled forward blindly, her boyfriend's hands covering her eyes as he lead her forward.

"Of course it is! It's not everyday you turn 18." Jake grinned in response as they approached his Taj Mahal.

"It's not everyday you turn any age. I don't see why 18 is such a big deal."

"Would you chill out and just accept that you're not getting out of this? I promise you'll like it." Jake responded with a roll of his eyes, shifting to Erin's side so he could keep one hand covering her eyes while his other hand opened the door of his garage.

"I still don't like you spending money on me over something as trivial as a birthday." Erin argued.

"Consider it making up for the lack of birthdays in your lifetime. And technically I didn't spend any money on this. It's a…hand-me-down." Jake smirked as he stepped into the garage before pulling Erin to a stop.

"Was it Rachel's?" Erin asked, completely confused. She could tell by the smell of oil that they were in Jake's garage.

"Nope."

Jake removed his hands from Erin's eyes and she took a second to examine her surroundings. It looked the same as it typically did. There was the couch, the box of warm sodas, the tool bench, and the Rabbit.

Then, Jake's hand lifted until it was hovering in front of her face, a key on a ring pinched between his thumb and forefinger.

The Rabbit's key.

Erin's eyes flew up to Jake's face, her lips parting in shock and denial.

"No." She tried to keep her excitement from bubbling over. It was impossible. There was no way he was giving her…

"Yep. The Rabbit's officially yours." Jake nodded, smirk tugging at one corner of his lips.

"But…but it's your Rabbit. You worked on it and fixed it up. Why would you-"

"I don't need two cars, babe. I've got the Explorer, now. And you're going to need a car of your own eventually, you can't walk everywhere forever."

That was true. Jake had finished the Explorer about a month back, and they'd celebrated by, um…spending some quality time in the back seat after driving back from Port Angeles for a date. And he did have a point that he didn't need two cars. And she would need a car of her own when classes started up in the fall.

"You're serious." Erin stated, still surprised as she looked up at him.

"'Course I am." Jake grinned, stepping closer and pressing the key into her palm, gently folding her fist around it. "This way I know you're driving a safe car. That you're safe at all times."

Erin smiled gently. "Well,…thank you." she finally murmured, completely overwhelmed.

Jake leaned down and kissed her slowly and passionately, and Erin felt warmth spread through her belly. Jake's one hand lifted to gently fist her blonde hair, which she had cut after graduation to be just above her shoulder blades. When she pulled back, she spoke against his lips. "I can think of another way to celebrate my birthday."

"Oh yeah?" Jake grinned deviously against her lips.

"Mhm." She leaned up on her tiptoes, Jake's hands on her waist keeping her steady, and whispered her idea in his ear. Jake's grin widened before he pulled away. He quickly shut and locked the garage door, leading Erin to the Rabbit, and gently pushing her into the backseat…

Gee, I wonder what they're going to do! ; )

Sorry again that this one's so short, but I'll try to quickly get the next one up, which is seven pages because I'm trying group different moments together if I think they go together.

Let me know what you thought of this one, even if it was uneventful.
