Kayci POV
"Why don't you use those conjuration spells anymore if you loved using them so much when you first learnt them?" Brelyna asked, trying to make sure Kayci was completely unattached before trying anything.
"I would usually. But 'Flickers', the flame atronach I learned to summon, didn't like the name I kept calling her, got sulky and then said she was only to be used in combat and she would set fire to me if I tried to seduce her anymore," Kayci explained. She only knew the spell to that one particular atronach so things between them just got awkward after that and she stopped summoning her.
"What about the Dremora?"
Kayci glared at Resh at the question, who shifted uncomfortably under her gaze, "After he accidently destroyed Resh's tent, Resh got angry and disembowelled him before I had a chance to fuck him leave another notch in my bedpost."
"Let's be honest Kayce. A Daedra whose master is the prince of destruction can't really destroy something by accident and you know it. And also, if you were the type to leave a notch in your bedpost you would have carved it away to nothing by now," Resh interjected, not liking that he sounded like the bad guy for killing an evil demon that ripped his tent to shreds while having sex with his best friend.
Albeit true, Kayci just snorted in response to what he said, instead of justifying him with a reply. It's not like she could really deny it, and she wasn't trying to either. She was fine with being a free spirit.
She smirked when she smelled the scents in the air. No wonder the elf was so interested in her exploits. Not only had her actions and voice made it fairly obvious Brelyna was interested in her, but her scents confirmed it. She could also smell Lydia's arousal towards Resh, but it wasn't like she needed to. She spent practically all day watching him.
Kayci knew Resh was probably oblivious to the fact. He didn't know what human scents were like because he had never been with a human. Even so, she hoped Resh would eventually come around. Lydia seemed like a nice girl and he needed to learn how to be more open minded.
The Elf that liked her was pretty hot, so she would definitely go for it if she got bored. Kayci decided she could probably string this out a bit before doing anything with her. Keep her waiting and make her filled with want with lots of teasing. It would be like a fun little game.
Kayci made a note to cut the skirt on the leather armour she was wearing a lot shorter next chance she got, and also re-craft it to show a lot more skin. It would be a lot less protective but for her current objective, protection wasn't her first priority. She wanted to drive the elf crazy.
To get started Kayci took her place right in front of the elf and started swaying her hips as she walked so the mage would get a good look at her while the other two didn't see. She could also pretend that she's wasn't doing it on purpose so Brelyna would have to spend the entire journey having to watch her.
Resh POV
Telling Kayci he was 'The Dragonborn' was not a prospect that filled Resh with joy. He hated the very title himself and would probably prefer to be dead than have it, and that was himself. If Kayci found out, despite being best friends, he could only predict the worst. He panicked about what he was going to say to her. He couldn't imagine telling her he had the soul of a dragon going well in any way. The way he saw it, it would only end in either being killed and eaten, or being eaten alive.
It's not like he could just not tell her. They were best friends, and he didn't want to lie to her like that and hide himself. Besides she would find out eventually, so either way he was probably going to end up dead.
Resh looked back at his fellow Tsaesci, who was… shaking her ass quite a lot when she walked, ruining the aura of despair he was making.
'Strange,' Resh thought as he saw her swaying hips. Then he turned back forwards and remembered his problem. He was going to have to tell her soon. They were going to High Hrothgar where people had spent years studying the Thu'um, and in turn dragons and the Dragonborn, it was definitely going to come up so he needed to prepare.
He could tie her up somewhere and tell her. That way he could avoid her killing him for a few days until she calmed down. Although that would require rope, something he didn't have… but Kayci probably did. She always had restraints with her, mostly for recreational use, but it could work for this too.
That seemed a bit too drastic though. He could just try to keep her in the dark. Although he had already reasoned that she would eventually find out Resh was. Surely there could be some way of keeping it hidden. Maybe if he were to somehow deafen her…
In fact, no, he didn't need to do that. Kayci wasn't exactly the brightest fire in Oblivion, so if he tried hard enough he could probably get away with it for a while. But then again, the longer this went on the worse it was going to get. And as he had already thought, he didn't want to lie to her.
Maybe he could just tell her to wait outside with Lydia and Brelyna so there was less chance of her hearing about him being the dragonborn as the Greybeards wouldn't be talking about it. But then how would he stop Lydia and the Elf telling her by accident?
He couldn't just gather them up now and tell them because the Kayci would most likely hear them and find out that way. Or even if she didn't hear, she would be suspicious of why he snuck the other two away to speak with them.
Turning his thoughts away from such bad situations Resh started to think about other things like learning restoration. He was sure Brelyna could probably teach him, and it would be good if he knew some magic that didn't just involve killing things.
He looked back to his Elf companion who was staring directly ahead of her at Kayci's ass as it swayed with every step. Resh smirked finally figuring out what Kayci was doing. She always did enjoy playing games with people and teasing.
The Resh suddenly stopped smirking when the realisation dawned on him about what would happen when Kayci finally finished her games.
'I'm not going to get any sleep am I?' Sometimes he just hated Kayci.
Resh POV
Resh smirked at the camp that they had set up. It wasn't so much the set of bedrolls laid out or the tent that was so generously provided his old friend who liked privacy for certain things, but more the occupants and what they were all doing that amused him.
Kayci seemed to be in the middle of the process of altering her armour. He would have thought it a good plan, except for the fact she wasn't adding more padding or protection to it. Instead she was cutting the leather skirt shorter and making the whole piece as revealing as possible.
The Dunmer inhabitant seemed even more interesting in her alterations than Resh was. Although that was to be expected as Kayci was doing it for her benefit. Brelyna was trying, but failing, not to seem obvious when she stole glances at other woman who was making her clothing smaller and smaller by the second.
Strangest of the three though, was Lydia. Or as Kayci had dubbed her earlier, Lyds. A nickname that he was starting to grow fond of and might start using. She seemed to be doing any one of two things: glancing at him and then glaring at Kayci, who he was looking at, and wandering around aimlessly in frustration and boredom.
Taking mercy on her, Resh decided to try and alleviate some of her boredom. "Lyds, do you want to go hunting?"
"Lyds?" she replied, confused at the shortening of her name, but still happy he'd decided to nickname her. Maybe he was starting to finally want something more from her.
"Yeah. Kayce said it earlier, so I thought I would too," he explained. He noticed how her face fell at the mention of his friend.
Knowing the name came from her, she already didn't like it. Lydia sighed but agreed anyway as she still wanted to spend as much time around him as possible, "Sure, let's go. They seem… busy." She gestured over to the others, who hadn't even noticed them. Or if they had, didn't care because they were too busy either slicing or leering.
She turned to see Resh had already started heading into the forest. She quickly grabbed her sword, bow and quiver and raced after him before he went out of sight. He didn't seem to take any of his own weapons so Lydia assumed he was going to use his magic.
1 Hour Later
She had no idea where Resh was going, but Lydia still followed him as he ran seemingly soundless through the foliage. The Nord was surprised that he could be so silent when being so large. And even more surprising was that he appeared to know exactly where he wanted to go when he wasn't even looking for tracks on the ground or any other signs for elk and deer.
Lydia was about to speak up but before the chance arose they came upon the sight of magnificent stag. She stared in wonder at the creature. The sheer beauty of the white coated creature as it grazed in the moonlight was enough to make the two of them freeze and gaze in awe at it.
Shaking her head to snap out of her daze, Lydia drew her bow and took aim. She noticed Resh readying himself to strike as well, but decided that she would kill it before he had a chance. Perhaps then he would marvel at her as well as the creature before them.
The first arrow struck the stags forelegs causing it to stumble as she readied her kill shot. She quickly glanced towards Resh, who was watching the scene unfold and seemed to have a look of respect at the accuracy of the arrow.
Unfortunately, in that split second she looked over to him the beast sprinted off into the distance faster than any creature she had seen before. All that was left of it were a few prints in the ground and a white dot disappearing into the distance at near unimaginable speeds.
Lydia stood there, jaw hanging open at what had transpired. No animal should be able to run that fast. She couldn't believe her near perfect attack had failed. Maybe she had a small slip when she got distracted at what Resh would think but even so, that had wasted almost no time and any normal deer should have been easy prey. Only the lord of the hunt himself could punish such a small error like that so badly, but that was ridiculous. She was sure a Daedric prince wouldn't waste his time testing mortals with unnaturally fast stags.
"If it's any consolation that was a great shot. Just bad luck it was so fast," she heard from behind her. She would have been overjoyed had that came from Resh. Unfortunately, he too had turned to see who had spoken.
Out from the forest behind them a small party emerged. It consisted of about two Bosmer, one male and one female, and a few Nords. She doubted they were bandits as they all had bows and didn't seem to be hostile, but she kept a hand on her blade anyway.
"I wasn't expecting it either. Can I ask who you are? I would have assumed bandits and run you through were it not for all the bows," Lydia asked, not liking having been interrupted when alone with Resh.
"There's no need for that. We're hunters. And that is the ultimate quarry, one of Hircine's very own prey. To kill it gains his favour. We've been tracking it for weeks, only for it to catch sight of us and sprint away every time we get close. Yet you manage to find it within an hour and even land an arrow on it. That is something amazi-" The Bosmer woman got no further before she was cut off an angry Resh.
"You knew we set off an hour ago," Resh growled. "You were following us." He summoned up flames in his annoyance. He didn't like being deceived like that.
Calmly the woman turned to him and replied, "We didn't follow you. We just heard your campsite and saw you leaving. We didn't stalk you. Instead we left immediately to hunt the White stag, then you showed up again."
Resh's magic dissipated along with his anger as he realised there was no reason for it. Besides, he was pretty in awe at the hunting group's ability to go near the camp without him or Kayci noticing. They must definitely know what they are doing.
"Why come out of the trees to talk to us if you should still be chasing after it then?" Lydia asked.
"For one, it's already far too quick for us to just 'follow'. We'll just have to find some rumours later, or try tracking the foot prints. And the reason we came to talk is because of how quickly you found it. We want to know how you managed it." They all looked to Resh, seemingly knowing that he was the one leading the two of them to the stag.
Resh grinned. It's only natural for one of the lesser races to ask him how to do something. Too bad they needed to have a Tsaesci hearing and sense of smell. "It's not really something I can teach."
The Wood Elf merely returned the look he gave with her own grin and stepped forward to him in an act of defiance, "Try me."
Lydia bristled. The action didn't seem to be anything sexual, but she still didn't want other women so close to him.
"Are you sure you want me to teach you?" Resh asked, more than happy to spread his knowledge of hunting with fellow hunters, even if they weren't able to replicate the results being lesser races.
They all nodded in response.
"Lydia, run along back to the camp," Resh called to her, not even looking as her as he stared the leader hunter in the eyes to look for any signs of weakness. She stared back just as hard. Lydia was about to protest but was stopped by Resh's stern glare.
After she was a few minutes away and Resh thought the distance far enough. He turned back to the hunters who were all watching him expectantly.
"Let's see what you can learn then," Resh growled, halfway through shifting into his golden form as they all stared. He smirked as the hunters stood there frozen, mouths literally hanging open. Having scared humans marvelling at his superiority was entertaining. He should change more often.
