Brogan took another sip of her Malibu and coke, and she rested her palm under chin, and she sighed slightly, bored of the conversation. Her mum, brother and his best friend were going on and on about some random rubbish that she didn't care about. Her eyes fell to the pub entrance, her eyes watching a group of lads walk in. And before she knew it, Mr. Lookalike walked in. Her eyes widened,
"Oh god." She mumbled.
Her mum looked at her, and then she looked at where Brogan was looking.
Mr. Lookalike looked over, as her mum looked away, and he smiled slightly in her direction. Brogan smiled back at him, and then she looked down at her drink, picking it up, and taking a long sip.
"Was that, that guy we saw last time?" Her mum asked.
Brogan nodded, setting her drink down,
"Mhm."
Her eyes slowly looked over at the bar, and then she quickly looked away, looking over at David. His eyes were on the bar, and then he looked at Brogan. His face had dropped, and he looked unhappy. She couldn't help but feel a little smug. Having David feeling the way she usually did. Especially that October last year.
"I'm gonna go get a drink." She told her mum, before standing up with her bag.
"Malibu and coke, please." She ordered, and then she glanced beside her, to see Mr. Lookalike standing there with his friends beside her. She tapped her card against the bar, trying to keep herself calm. She felt a pair of eyes watching her, and she glanced back at the group. He was now standing nearer to her.
"Hiya." He said politely.
Brogan smiled, hoping she wasn't blushing like an idiot,
"Hi." She replied.
The barmaid came back, placing her drink in front of her, Brogan handed her, her card, and she glanced to her table, seeing David's eyes on her. She smiled in his direction, making him instantly look away. Brogan looked back at the bar, taking machine from the barmaid, and she entered her pin.
"I'm sorry about Friday." Brogan looked at Mr. Lookalike, furrowing her eyebrows together, as she handed the machine back. "About the wages thing? No idea why everyone didn't get paid."
Brogan smiled, shaking her head,
"Like everyone said at work, wasn't your fault." She reassured him.
He smiled slightly and nodded, and Brogan took her card back. Picking up her drink, she glanced at him,
"Bye." She said, sounding shy.
"Bye." He replied.
Brogan walked back to her table, sitting down, and she placed her drink in front of her.
"What were you two talking about?" Her mum asked.
"Oh, just about the wages." Brogan said casually.
Brogan glanced at David, seeing that he still looked unimpressed. She licked her lips, looking back at her mum, and she smiled.
