Resh POV
Resh sighed, there didn't look to be an escape from the situation. The door was guarded by Kayci who was sitting in a chair beside it looking pissed off. He knew that if he tried to run he wouldn't get particularly far.
"Fine," he growled in defeat, "Now please, please, please tell me Kayci was lying about you being pregnant."
It was now Lydia's time to look uncomfortable, "No, it was true. If you're wondering though I've decided not to keep it."
"Good," Resh breathed out a sigh relief, glad at least one of his problems was sorted out.
"We also need to talk about the other, and why you ran away like you did," Lydia told him, he knew he wasn't going to enjoy the conversation.
"There's not much to tell, I lost control did something disgusting, and tried to leave before things got worse," he explained to her, not making eye contact.
Unfortunately he must have said something wrong because Lydia's anger flared up "Are you calling me disgusting?!"
Resh blinked, "Well, yes. Believe me though, if you were from my viewpoint you would understand."
That didn't make things any better.
"I thought she was exaggerating but Kayci was right. You are a cunt!" Lydia shouted, no doubt the whole of Whiterun could most likely hear her.
Resh turned to his friend and glared, "You told her that? How elegant of you. Help me explain this Kayce, you can see where I'm coming from."
"Even look at me again and I will knock you out a second time," Kayci hissed, still annoyed from earlier. The two had a friendship where they could tease, banter and call each other names all the time because they were friends, but the other day what Resh had said was just out of plain spite.
"Look I'm sorry for insulting you it was uncalled fo-"
"No!" Lydia snapped interrupting him, "You should be apologising to me, you asshole. I'm the one you jumped away from like I was a monster, I'm then one you ran out on, I'm the one you just called disgusting."
"I'm not really sure how to reply to that…"
Despite the huge size difference Resh definitely felt the slap sting his face. "Why don't you fucking try saying I don't something like 'Oh Lydia, I'm sorry for being such a dick. Considering the way I treated you I'm surprised you're being so forgiving, especially as I don't deserve someone as great as you, when all I do is run away like a coward!'"
At that Resh stood up in anger, causing Kayci to stir slightly and get ready for his attempt to run, "I don't have to take this! Blame alcohol not me, I would never have done any of this if it wasn't for that damn mead!"
The second slap was easier to anticipate so he grabbed her wrist before contact, unfortunately the strike into his spine from behind was less expected and he lost his grip almost as soon as he had gained it.
"'Never'!? What have I ever done to you that you have to keep insulting me for no reason!" Lydia was about to kick him when he was on the floor but Kayci quickly stopped her.
"How about you let me talk to him while you calm down a bit?" she suggested, it was more of a command really, however unkind her friend was being she didn't really want to see him too injured. Besides it was never very good for someone to get too angry so she'd rather not see that from Lydia.
Lydia hesitated for a moment but then decided to leave seeing it best, striding out angrily she left the two alone in the room
In an attempt to rebuild bridges Kayci was the first to speak, "If it's any consolation yours isn't the only love life going down like a sinking ship," she muttered trying to make common ground between them.
"Mine wasn't a 'love life' to begin with, it was a mistake. But anyway, what's wrong with yours?" Resh asked quietly, he was still ashamed from earlier so avoided meeting her gaze.
Kayci groaned, "I made the mistake on hitting on someone when I went to find you, and subsequently Brelyna found out about it. Also I don't think she likes that I take moonsugar."
Resh snorted, "When she found out did she take it better than I did?"
"You weren't that bad, just making snide comments every so often. Brelyna's gone so far as to try and to try and ban me from using it, somehow though I think her strict rules may also be due to her anger at my attempted cheating though," Kayci explained, laughing slightly when she pulled out a little pouch of the aforementioned narcotic and showed it to him. "I don't think her rules are going to catch on though."
"Do you ever think she might just be trying to look after you?"
"I don't think I should be taking relationship advice off you Resh, because, you know, practically everything that's happened in the last three days is pretty much your fault," she countered.
"You can understand my reasoning though, can't you?" Resh asked, trying to get some justification.
"If I was racist like you maybe, but because I'm not, I don't," Kayci smirked, "You really should just apologise to her, fucking humans and occasionally having children with them has happened before with our kind. It happened last time we had a Potentate over here."
Resh started to argue now, "But what does it result in? A few assassinated Tsaesci, a weakling mortal child that only lives 60 years, and then the descendants living in royalty they haven't earned, but claiming it anyway because of their Tsaesci heritage."
"That's what you're afraid of? The Potentate who got assassinated was killed because he took over Tamriel, not because he had a kid. You're not actually going to be having the child anyway so your other issues won't be a problem either."
"Fair enough, but still, they're a far weaker race than us mating with one is just wrong," Resh muttered, the initial shock of what he had done had started to fade away, and surprisingly Kayci's reasoning was fairly sound.
"A weaker race? Hasn't she proved herself fighting?" Kayci asked. Resh wouldn't let just anyone follow him, especially one who couldn't fight.
"Well she has, very much so, bu-"
"Was it consensual?"
"Yes…" Resh replied, thrown off guard at the odd question.
"Then it's completely fine," she chirped trying to brighten his mood by staying upbeat. "Was it good?"
"For fucks sake Kayce why would you ask something like that?!" he snapped in disgust, at that she shot him a pointed stare for his outburst, causing him to exhale, giving in, "Yes…"
"Then do it again! Or at the very least apologise, she already thinks you're repulsed by her, you don't want to make it worse," she spelled out for him, it was already painfully obvious he was being a misguided asshole, even to him.
"Fine," he grumbled in response, he guessed he did owe her something of an apology, he could see why she would be upset. And let's face it, as Kayci had said, his reasons for disgust weren't that great anyway.
"Good," Kayci stated proudly, before whipping out her moonsugar pouch, "Now if you don't mind can you not leave for another minute or so? I need an excuse to be out of sight. The couple's councillor of the century is going to snort more of this Khajiit powder stuff before Brelyna finds out."
'How advice from her can be a good idea I will never know…'
Lydia POV
When the two Lydia and Brelyna patiently waited for finally left the room Brelyna knew something was wrong. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something wasn't quite right. Kayci had a strange look in her eye, and seemed to be slightly twitchy in her step.
As well as this Resh appeared to be very exasperated, although that could just be because of the events he was currently going through and the shock of finding out he was now potentially going to have a child.
Nevertheless Kayci just seemed off. The only explanation the Elf could think of was that she had somehow reached her moonsugar, but she discarded it since she had already confiscated all she owned. She had been very… thorough when searching the other women, checking every orifice, roughly.
Besides Resh was in the room with her, and he was so harsh about think Brelyna doubted he would approve of the narcotic. But then again, as Kayci was technically his superior she could have just ordered him not to tell her.
Brelyna had barely blinked before the woman in question had another slight spasm and darted from the inn. Sighing Brelyna realised her initial thoughts probably had been correct and followed her out, leaving a reluctant Resh and a both pissed off and confused Lydia alone with each other.
Lydia was the first to speak, her tone was still bitter, but not quite so annoyed as earlier, "What did Kayci say?"
"Well, before doing something Brelyna wouldn't like and running out of the tavern like a high Khajiit she suggested I apologise to you," he muttered, before reluctantly adding, "I'm sorry by the way."
Lydia didn't look convinced, "That wasn't good enough, I'd prefer you to actually mean it when apologising."
"Fine. I'm sorry I was such an asshole to you, and jumping away from you and acting like I was repulsed by you was cruel, so I apologise and won't do it again," Resh told her, practically sighing in exasperation between every word.
The Nord woman stared at him with suspicion before asking, "I'll forgive you if you tell me why you were so… disgusted just for having sex with me."
"I don't think you'd want to know why…"
"Try me," Lydia quickly countered.
"No, I meant it. Maybe one day I'll tell you, but today is not that day. If you really want to know I guess after all I've put you through I could, but I don't think you would want to know. I'd rather you let me keep my own secrets though," Resh explained, he was actually wondering himself what her reaction to him being another species would be, and in some ways actually wanting her to ask.
"Fine, if it's such a big secret you have I don't want to hear it out of guilt or pity. You are aware though if it's that important I'm going to find out eventually? Besides, Kayci will probably just tell me anyway," Lydia told him, her anger had seemingly subsided.
"Probably," he muttered, it was likely going to be true if Kayci continued her relationship with Brelyna. Eventually she would tell Brelyna about the difference in race, and then he too would have to as well. "Speaking of which we should probably go and find her, Brelyna looked pretty pissed at the state she was in."
Kayci POV
She wasn't quite sure on what had happened after giving Resh a pep talk but whatever was happening was definitely fun, everything seemed very colourful and enhanced, it was hard to explain, but she felt like she could see the sounds around her.
This refined stuff was far better than that low quality skooma she had first gotten a hold of, being a Tsaesci it was far harder for her to become addicted to things or get the negative effects of narcotics, but just thinking about that stuff made her shudder slightly.
Although Kayci noted that down more to her addictive personality than the drug's effects on her, It was the same with alcohol, fighting and sex as well, so she deduced it was probably more her own issue than the skooma's.
Speaking of her three aforementioned vices, Kayci immediately headed to the first place she could think of which contained all of them, the werewolf place. She probably wouldn't try to go after the huntress woman again, but she was sure there would be someone there worth bedding.
In some ways Kayci felt sorry for Brelyna, but when she thought about it she made no promises of faithfulness, and even if she had the moonsugar made it irrelevant. She barely even realised her actions as she burst through the doors to Jorrvaskr.
Almost as soon as she did something else caught her eye, and by something else she meant someone else. The drug must have been pretty strong because even with her natural resistance to the stuff she was seeing double. It seemed that there were two of the same ridiculously attractive warrior man. And she knew that couldn't be true.
Immediately striding up to him Kayci leaned up against the wall to steady herself in fears she would fall over, "Am I seeing double, or am I just really lucky?"
The twins looked at each other in confusion, before the smarter of the two, Vilkas, answered her, "No, there are indeed two of us. And what do you mean by 'lucky'?"
Were she sober Kayci would have only imagined pumping her fist in the air in happiness, but due to the large quantities of sugar in her system she actually did. Prompting the brothers to recoil slightly, before asking, "Are you okay? You seem a bit… Twitchy."
"Yeah I'm fine," Kayci replied quickly, waving off their question before giving a sultry look, "Now anyway, I was just thinking, that you two might be up for a little brother and brother tag team. I don't have much time so answer quickly."
Farkas, the less intelligent of the two didn't quite understand her gist, "Do you mean like sparring?"
Kayci laughed, "No… I mean something better, although feel free to be rough if you want. Anyway, I get that you aren't that smart but we've got to hurry, so I'll just explain it simply, and crudely. There's two of you, and one of me, and also what's bound to be a tonne of bedrooms in this place. I'm up for anything you're up for."
Realising what she finally meant at last Farkas's eyes almost popped out of his head, the other brother however still looked fairly neutral. Opting for another tactic Kayci started speaking again, "Look, I know it may sounds like I'm lying or being slightly strange with the rushing, but my girlfriend-" that got his attention, Kayci smirked at how easy it was to manipulate men that were controlled only by their penis, "-yeah that's right, girlfriend, is going to come looking for me so if we don't go downstairs somewhere you'll miss your chance."
At that both brothers seemed fairly eager and Vilkas swept her into a deep kiss before the three started to rush downstairs… just as her Dark Elf lover rushed in and saw her in the act. Immediately noticing her Vilkas dropped the, in his opinion, harlot of a woman, and backed off of her. His brother, copying what he did also stepped away, head hanging low in sadness at how close he had come.
Kayci was starting to wonder what happened as she unsteadily rose from the floor. The world was still distorted, but from what she could see, her two newest lovers seemed to be fleeing. But why?
Her question was answered when she looked in the other direction. Brelyna.
"I'm going to kill you," the Dark Elf hissed in fury, dragging the high woman away from the two that had claimed her affections. She made no mistake of that, when Kayci was sober again she was going to be in for a bad time.
