Miranda's P.O.V.
I fanned myself with the fan I had been given by Ana. "How can anyone live in this heat, un?" Deidara asked. "Quit complaining, it's 1000 degrees in here!" Sasori said. Shay was sitting on his back and she looked down at him. "Then why don't you come out of there?" She asked. "And reveal my true self? Absolutely not." He said. "But why hide your sexiness? Everyone loves red heads!" Shay said. "Shay you realize if he comes out of there, you have to walk like the rest of us." I said. She thought for a moment. "Never mind." She said. "Guys, can you focus on the mission before Shay's phone dies?" Ana said. I turned my attention to the phone sitting on Sasori's back with Shay. "Sorry." I said. "Just get to Suna, get Garra and get back." She said. "Okay!" Shay said and hung up. I had a feeling Ana said; "You bitch." At that moment, Shay sneezed. So I was right.
I yawned. Deidara swooped me up on to his back. "Go ahead and take a nap, un. You're going to need your energy later, yeah." He said. I nodded. Ana had decided that we'd show them their death's before that mission so we knew what we were doing. I laid my head on his shoulder. The last thought that went through my head before I fell asleep was what was Ana going to do about Itachi's death? He had died for that disease thing. How could she prevent it? And with that in my head, I fell asleep.
Ana's P.O.V.
I slammed Tobi against the wall, glaring furiously. Konan and Pein didn't make a move. "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! ARE YOU SERIOUSLY TELLING ME I HAVE TO SIT BACK AND WATCH HIM SUFFER?!" I shrieked. There was no doubt that everyone in the base could hear me, so I did my best to hold the identity shit down, though honestly I didn't give half a fuck. "It is merely how things have to go, Ana. You know it as well as I do. It is how things are written in the book." He said. "FUCK THE BOOK! I AM DOING SOMETHING TO SAVE THEM! WRITTEN OR NOT! PERMITTED OR NOT! I'M NOT GOING TO STAND IDLEY AND WATCH AS MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS DIE! YOU'LL HAVE TO KILL ME FIRST!" I screamed. "I can arrange that, you know." He said. Pein and Konan stood a little stiffer. "They're worried we'll have to reveal sooner. They don't need to worry." Ayu and I conversed. I drew my Namari blade from my hip.
"I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY YOU LITTLE PRICK!" I yelled, blade at his throat. He didn't seem the tiniest bit scared until I applied my chakra to the blade and it burst in to lightning. His eyes widened. I think he realized that then, if he played his cards right and manipulated me correctly then I would be a great strength to him. Unfortunately for him, Ayu and I had figured out away to read anyone's mind. I would just have to project my chakra enough for Ayu to go in their head. I knew it was limited, but I would use it while I still could.
"Calm down, Ana. There is no need to fight." He said. "Then you will give me a Lab." I said. He took a breath to speak, but I cut him off. "Or my blade might just find his way through your throat. And you're space time jutsu or whatever the hell it is won't be able to save you this time." I threatened with a dark voice and applied just enough pressure to the blade to draw blood from his neck. Not enough to send his head rolling, although it would simplify things quite a bit.
"Okay, you can have an extra room for your Lab. As long as you keep it in here and don't try any thing funny." He said. I glared at him further. "I don't see what's funny about saving a life." I said, but I dropped him and turned to pick out the proper room for my Lab. I was going to do some tests on blood samples from Itachi to see what would destroy the Sharingan Infection as I had named it. (A/N: I don't know what it's actually called, but I'm leaving it at that.) But would also allow him to continue use of the Sharingan with out the affects on him. Yes, I knew it was a long shot, but I had to do something right?
The moment I opened the door, Tabby, Kisame, Hidan, Amanda and Kira came tumbling in. I had Ayu go in to see what they heard. "Nothing important." She reported. "What were you doing?" I asked. "We heard yelling and got curious." Kisame said. I stared at them. "What was the yelling about anyways?" Kira asked. Pein was the one to speak up. "I, um, misunderstood Ana's request and denied it." Pein said. "We cleared it up after a bit." I said. "Tobi, why is your neck bleeding?" Tabby asked. "Tobi said something he wasn't supposed to and Ana-sama threw a kunai." He said. Tabby glared at me and I glared back. We stood there and glared at each other for a few minutes before I walked passed her.
"C'mon Kira. We don't have to move out for a few days. Help me pick out a proper place for a Lab." I said. I wished Sasori was there, he would have helped me find the perfect spot. As soon as we were out of hearing range, I began my Romanian rant. "Ca pula mica! El crede ca el pote spune mi doar stai acolo si ma uit ca Itachi moare! Intepatura ca ma asteapta sa doar stai pe spate si urmariti-I sufera?!" I yelled. (Translation: That little dick! He thinks he can tell me to just sit there and watch as Itachi dies! Does that prick expect me to just sit back and watch him suffer?) Kira looked at me. "Asa de rau de o lupta?" She asked. I nodded. (Translation: That bad of a fight?) "Da. A trebuit sa taie gatul doar pentru a-I convinge" I replied. (Yeah, I had to cut his throat just to convince him.) "Hard core. You really need this medicine lab." She said. "Yeah, I do." I said as we turned in to the first empty room.
"Nice open spaces. Pretty big. A window. A dark closet." Kira said. "Too small and I can't have a window." I said and turned out. She shrugged and followed me out. I went to the next one. "Nice and big. Has a bathroom for when you need to shit. Still has a window though." Kira said. I shook my head and turned out. Third times the charm right? I opened the door. It was a broom closet. I moved to the next room. Kira whistled. "This place is huge! No windows, a bathroom." She listed off. "Perfect." I said and Kira and Hidan helped me set up all I needed. They went to get me some squirrels or rat to experiment on and I convinced Itachi to give me a pint of blood to test on.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked as we finished. I nodded. "I know I can find away to save you." I said. "Are you sure about the infection getting to me?" He asked. I nodded. "How are you-" He started. "You trust me, right?" I asked turning and looking him in the eye. "Of course I trust you, Ana." He said. "Then trust me with this. I just know what will happen and I don't want it to happen." I said and turned with the bag of blood in a plastic container, so that way if I dropped it I would still have it. "I die in my fight with Sasuke, don't I?" He asked. I froze. "I memorized the numbers on that paper. I had Tabetha show me." He said. "You're bluffing." I said. "If you really were that curious about it, you would have gone to Miranda, Shay or Kira. They wouldn't have shown you. No one would have. Not even Tabby, even if she hates me." I said and left the room. He followed me.
"I'm right, though, aren't I? I'm supposed to die at my brother's hand. Aren't I?" He said. I stopped again and took three calming deep breaths and turned and looked my lover right in the eye. "Itachi, I am keeping how you die between me and the girls so I will be able to protect you properly so that your daughter or son will not have to grow up with out their parents." I said. "You mean their father?" He asked. "What?" I asked. "You said 'their parents.' I'd be the one dyeing. Even if I go sooner to keep you from getting in the way." He said. I dropped my chin to my chest and sighed. He was insistent. I think I surprised him when I looked up. I was smiling, but I knew there was a sad look in my eyes.
"If I lose you, they lose me." I said. I knew he understood. "Whether I sword pieces my heart or not. If you die, then my soul goes with yours." I said anyway. I turned and walked back to my lab. I knew he would follow me. He wasn't finished speaking. As soon as the door to my Lab closed, he spoke again. "You know me, Ana. You know I want Sasuke to kill me." He said. "Yes, I know. But the fact is. With out you in our lives, Sasuke's existence as well as mine is meaningless. Sasuke doesn't realize it yet. And as for the baby. I don't think it would be fair for them to grow up being raised by their aunt because their father died and their mother paralyzed." I said and set down the blood on the table. We stood there in silence for a few moments.
"Ana." He said. "Hm?" I asked. "I'll let you get away with this for now, but, love, if Sasuke comes at me with a sword, don't get in the way. I wouldn't be able to handle it if you died." He said. I clenched my fists. "Itachi, that's a promise I can't keep." I said, clutching the edge of the table and tried not to cry. "Why?" He asked, his gentle voice now hard. "Because that's what lovers are supposed to do! I'm not just going to sit there like a bitch and watch you die!" I said. "Then look away!" He said and turned for the door. "If he kills you, I'll kill him!" I said. He slammed the door shut again. "You what?!" He yelled. I'll admit, he scared me a bit. Itachi never yelled at me before.
I turned and looked at him in the eye. We were both furious. I was a little scared but I had to stand strong. "You heard me, Itachi. If he kills you I'll kill him. Maybe not right away, but I will kill him!" I said. He towered over me. I wanted to piss my pants, shit even, but I refused to let it show. "No, you won't." He ordered. I glared at him and fought back my tears. "Yes, I will, Itachi. You can't stop me." I said. He was absolutely livid. For a moment I thought he was going to hit me the way his arms were shaking. "Don't try to save me then. There's no point." He said and left. As soon as he slammed the door to my Lab, I fell to my knees and began to sob.
Miranda's P.O.V.
My eyes snapped open as we walked in side of a cave to rest for a bit. I leapt from Deidara's back, my eyes darted all over the cave. "Miranda? What's wrong, un?" Deidara asked, grabbing my hand and lowering it and the kunai I didn't realize I had drawn. I sighed and shook my head. "I just have a feeling that some thing bad is going on at home." I said, relaxing a bit. I slipped my kunai back in to my ass pouch and looked over at Shay. She pulled out her phone and dialed Ana's number.
"No one will pick up." She said. I pulled out my phone and dialed Ana's number. "H-hello?" Ana's staggering voice said. "Ana, are you okay?" I asked. "Focus on your mission and get back. We'll talk later." Ana said and hung up. I pulled my phone away from my face. "Let's just focus on the mission. It's nothing I can't take care of." I said. Shay knew I was lying and I think Deidara knew, too. But they decided not to push it. We waited in the cave for night to come.
Kira's P.O.V.
"Itachi, why the hell is Ana sitting on the floor of the Medicine Lab and crying?" I said as I walked in to the bar that Hidan some how convinced Pein in to putting in after they got back. I was tempted to ask how, but I had a feeling I was better off not knowing. Itachi looked at me over her shoulder. "She was crying?" He asked, worry in his voice. So he wasn't totally drunk. Just a little buzzed. "What happened?" I asked. "I… We got in a fight…" He said. I felt my eyes widened. "You got in a fight?!" I said. "Yes, and I might have said something… that I really shouldn't have." He said. "What did you say?" I asked, sounding calmer and more sympathetic than I really was. "I… Told her that there was no point in trying to save me." He said. "Well… only one way to resolve this." I said and slid of the stool. He turned and looked at me. I took two steps then I spun back around and punched him in the face, knocking him right off his stool.
I knelt over him and grabbed his shirt and yanked him up to look me in the eye. "YOU SON OF A BITCH, DON'T YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU MEAN TO HER? DO YOU? YOU LITTLE PRICK!" I shrieked. Hidan grabbed my waits and pulled me off of Itachi. "Babe, as much as I would like to see you pulverize the fuck out of him, it's not going to make Ana feel any better. You know how to solve this." He said. I glared at Itachi as Hidan set me on my feet. I glared at him. "Meet me out back in ten minutes. Sober." I snapped and turned my back to him.
Miranda's P.O.V.
I stared outside silently. The sun was barely beginning to set over Suna. I was glad that there was actually a cave about two miles away from Suna. I stood as the last blinding bit of sun slipped away behind the dirty village. "It's time." I said. The other three nodded. We stood up and headed out. Sasori met with his little spy and Deidara and I hopped on to the back of a clay bird. "You sure about this, yeah?" He asked. I nodded. "Absolutely. I'm done with being the silent girl." I said and we flew over.
"Five guards, just as you said, hm." He said. I nodded. "Yup. Three… two… one…" I said. We swerved as sand came up to attack us. "And allow the battle to commence." I said as we swooped in next to Garra. I strided right up to him. He watched me warily. I grinned and ruffled his red hair. "Aww! You're so adorable for an emo panda!" I said. He looked very confused. I then ripped out a bit of his hair. "Yup, as I suspected, it's brighter now than it will be later." I said. Deidara facepalmed. "How did you notice us, un?" Deidara asked. "Your bird is not from around these parts." Garra said. "Okay! That's out of the way, hey, Garra, wanna come to Disneyland?" I said. "What?" Garra said. Deidara double facepalmed. "Miranda, come on. That's enough, un." He said. I rolled my eyes.
"Alright fine, I'll leave, just watch your arms." I said. "Okay." He replied. "Is she you mother or something?" Garra asked. I ripped out more of his hair. "Ow!" He said. Deidara facepalmed again. "She's worse, un. She's my girlfriend." He said. "I'll take that as a compliment!" I snapped and began to head in to the Kazekage building. I decided to make Deidara a little jealous before I left. I kissed Garra on the cheek and left.
I was too busy concentrating on getting out of the village I forgot to pay attention to the battle. Deidara and I were both out at the same time. "What took you so long?" Shay asked. "I got lost." I said. Shay laughed. "Oh, shut up! I went to Konoha, not Suna! And I don't have an ex-ninja living inside me." I said. "That's what she said." Shay said. I kicked sand in to her eyes. "Let's just get going before Kankuro gets here!" I said and jumped on the clay bird.
As I predicted, Kankuro caught up to us quicker than expected. "Two episodes have passed." I said. "Talk about foreshadowing." Shay said. "Girls, go on ahead, I got this." Sasori said. "Hey! I'm a boy, un!" Deidara said. "Keep telling yourself that." Sasori said. "Just poison him and be done with it for fucking out loud!" I yelled, throwing some sand at him. After Kankuro's rant and he was poisoned, we were on our way. I pulled out my cell and called Ana.
"Report." She said, all previous emotion from her voice gone, so I guessed she was okay now. "Garra captured, Kankuro poisoned. We're on our way." I reported. I heard Ana nod. "Alright. We'll meet you at the cave early in the morning. Get moving." She said. I nodded. "Roger that." I said and hung up. "Let's go. We've got a lot of walking to do." I told them and we were on our way.
3rd person P.O.V.
Ana walked to Pein's office. She threw open the door. "Time to move." She said. The leaders nodded. "Gather everyone up. I'll wake Kisame and Amanda. You and Itachi get ready to go." Konan said. Ana nodded and turned to find Itachi and prepare to go. She found him and Kira out back. Kira was holding her guitar and pinching the bridge of her nose. Ana whistled. "Kira! Itachi! Miranda just called in! Time to move! Get your asses in gear!" She yelled and quickly went to her room to pack up. With a sigh, they all moved. "We'll practice more after we get back." She said and went to get Hidan. Itachi sighed and went to pack up.
Ana was finishing up packing. She was actually just closing her bag and putting it on when he opened the door. "Ana, can we talk?" Itachi tried. Ana kept her head down and pushed past him. As soon as she was gone, he facepalmed and sighed. "I really fucked up this time." He thought. With a sigh, he packed his things and they all set out on their mission.
Okay, so a little messed up this chapter. Will Ana dump Itachi? What is Kira planning on having Itachi sing for Ana? Will they get back together? Will Sasori live? I would answer these, but I really want to leave you in suspense.
