Resh POV
Awaking among the wings of a large dragon definitely wasn't one of the things Resh had ever pictured himself doing in his lifetime, but then again he had done loads of things recently he never would have dreamed about, like mating with a human, and getting her pregnant. But this was completely different.
Not only was it quite frankly terrifying, but it was just… weird, he didn't really know what to do, it was awake as well, so attempting to kill it was out of the question, but he couldn't just sit here and wait for it to kill him.
There was no time to think of an escape plan though as the beast started to speak, "Dovahkiin," it rumbled, causing Resh to scowl, but not speak up in case it got angry, "I have waited too long to speak with you."
The Tsaesci blinked, "It's you, you're that Paarthurnax person the Greybeards sent me after! give me a reason why I shouldn't try and kill you?"
Resh could've sworn he heard the dragon chuckle, "For one it is my body heat keeping you from dying right now, And ordinarily when two dov meet I would ask you to prove your strength, but that does not seem possible, so you wouldn't actually be able to kill me."
He probably would have tried to hurt the dragon for the insult were it not completely true, the cold up here was unbearable, and it would seem he had no choice but to listen to what the disgusting creature had to say.
After seeming pleased with his silence the dragon spoke up again, knowing he had his full attention. "Now I understand from what the Greybeards are telling me is that you are refusing to shout…"
Later
As hastily as he could without appearing like he was fleeing Resh rushed down the mountain face again, going down was far quicker than going up as he could afford to get a few scratches as he bounced against multiple rocks on the trip.
Getting away from the peak had been a priority though, it wasn't natural to have a friendly conversation with a dragon, it just wasn't. It felt all wrong. He was going to have serious words with the Greybeards about this, that thing needed to be exterminated.
Once at the bottom of his descension he found himself fairly far from the temple, a good ten minute walk away from where he could see it jut out in the distance. A few minutes in however and something smelled 'off'. Of course the cold affected his, admittedly 'not good for a Tsaesci' sense of smell. But there was something nearby, he couldn't put his finger on it but there was.
Another minute of walking and the scent was even stronger, causing him to frown in annoyance. But he continued walking anyway, the sooner he got out of this awful debilitating weather the better. That way he could warm up and get into a nice physical state before going out to see what the problem he sensed.
One more minute and he definitely knew something was wrong, although in fairness it was fairly obvious now considering the assassin had just driven a dagger into his abdomen and taken him to the ground.
Fortunately the knife hadn't penetrated any vital organs, so 'if' he was able to stop him striking again it wouldn't even notice it afterwards. Although it still hurt considerably, whatever enchantment graced the Elven blade was a very powerful one, probably designed to inflict pain rather than physical trauma.
"What were you expecting?" the Thalmor assassin sneered as he twisted the knife even more, causing Resh to groan out in pain, "You directly insulted and threatened a high ranking Thalmor operative. You Nords and your ignorance sicken me."
Hissing in response Resh tried to shift the man off him, but, although he was stronger than the Altmer, the other man didn't have an excruciating blade lodged in side. Resh had to admit though, he really had made some bad decisions when he confronted Ancano, although he had been having a bad day he really should have remembered what happened if you messed with a Thalmor, they stab you when unawares like cowards.
The Thalmor laughed at his attempts and pushed even harder, almost delighting in a sadistic way at the sounds Resh let out, "You hear that Nord? this is what your kind gets, worshipping men, ignorance of Altmer superiority. You're all the same."
Whispering in anger he pulled out the blade and drove it towards Resh's neck, ready to deliver the final blow to this man-worshipping heathen. That gave Resh all the time he needed however, and the moment the dagger left his flesh he lunged forward biting the man in the forearm, he would have gone for the neck had there been less armour, but he settled for tearing away a large chunk of Thalmor even if non-fatal, leaving the man with a forearm stripped of flesh, only bone remained.
Screaming the assassin charged, stabbing wildly at the evading man. Unfortunately for the Thalmor the extreme pain of not having a functioning left arm grossly reduced any fighting skills he had, and watching a man swallow down a large part of his forearm didn't really help his mental state.
He slashed again, hoping to catch the large Nord across the chest, but as he did a large hand caught him mid swing, and held him in place. Then, before he could fight back grabbed his other, injured and partially skeletal arm, and wrenched it out of its socket. Not just dislocating it, but pulling the whole thing off.
"Wouldn't want the venom to enter the bloodstream now, would we?" Resh growled, swallowing down what he had removed, bones and all, and almost making the operative throw up. "And you think I picked a fight with the wrong people? oh how wrong you are. I couldn't care less about Nords, and they're ridiculous worship of Talos, is just a wrong as any of you pointy eared pricks Divines."
"But you're a Nord!" the man yelled in his hoarse voice due to the screaming, unable to remove himself from the man's grasp with only one arm, "You have to care about you and the rest of your savage kind!"
The Tsaesci laughed, before squeezing the stump his arm used to be to halt the blood from leaving, "I'm no Nord, you mouth breathing idiot. You dare even call my race something as inferior as that, the only thing worse would be if I were equated to your own disgusting species."
Spluttering the man tried to speak, but barely managed to garble out the words, "Not a Nord? then what?"
Smirking Resh grabbed the man's other arm and ripped that away from him as well, effectively confirming his death as he started chewing on the newly removed appendage, cracking the bones with each bite, "Let's just say, if you're going to boast about how one race is better than all the others, pick the right one."
After noting how pleased he was with his cool sounding final words Resh hoisted the harmless… and armless, body over his shoulder so he could find somewhere nice to finish his meal, needless to say he was incredibly pleased Kayci had gotten him to give up his stupid promise.
Maybe he would find a cave, all Tsaesci liked caves, and after so long he was finally starting to feel like one again.
Nothing like a bit of cannibalism to warm your heart and make you feel like one of your own again huh? or… is that just me…?
Kayci POV
"Please, can you just let me out?" Kayci begged as she tried to shift the wardrobe she had been shoved inside, unfortunately the damage from Brelyna's magic, interwoven with the previous serious injuries made her too weak to actually do anything. Usually she would be able to rip apart the wooden structure from the inside.
She flinched back when she heard a hard rapping against the wood, and Brelyna's stern voice "You're only allowed to speak when it's about where Kayci is."
'At least she cares about me, too bad she has no idea.'
"But I am Kayci! I promise, you can't just keep me in here forever," she whined, not liking being kept in confined spaces. Her minor claustrophobia was one of the many things Resh liked to tease her about, and then usually proceed to get a black eye because of.
"No, it's quite obvious you're not. You're some weird snake monster that if you don't tell me what I want I'll give to the other College members to vivisect!" she snapped, very annoyed that the monster was refusing to conform and obey. It didn't matter much at the moment, she still had the Halls to herself for a good hour. It meant she had loads of time to question the creature before J'Zargo got back and she needed to knock it out for the night.
Brelyna heard whatever was inside the door sigh in defeat, "If you do have them slice me open can you not tell Resh you trapped me in a wardrobe? he makes fun of my height enough as it is."
"Don't pretend like you know who Kayci's friends are," the Elf replied irritably. "How about this? you tell me what you've done with my lover, and I'll set you free instead of cutting you apart for research. Provided you haven't killed her or something as well."
"Fine, fine!" Kayci said in exasperation, deciding to go along with Brelyna's imagination since telling the truth didn't seem to be getting her anywhere. "You let me out and I'll tell you where I've hidden her."
The Dunmer frowned, but deciding it was her only chance opened the wardrobe to reveal a bundled up coil of golden scale and muscle, as if it had been hastily shoved into the confined space. Despite the shock of the monster she remained unfazed as she stared it in the eye. Like Kayci it only had one.
After a few moments she spoke up in an agitated fashion at the Tsaesci's lack of information, it only seemed to be looking around and staring at her, "Are you going to tell me or what?"
It began slowly as if still thinking of something to say, "There's probably something you should know…" Brelyna leaned in to hear as the monster was speaking rather quietly, only to be thrown to the ground as it sped past her, shouting, "You'll never take me alive you Elv-"
The monster didn't get very far before Brelyna caught it's tail and pulled it back down onto the floor, making it hiss in pain at the small amount of contact. Despite the creature obviously being very strong Brelyna didn't have much trouble dragging it along the floor by its tail back to the wardrobe.
Kayci was far too exhausted to fight back, so just had to lay back resigned to her fate as there was nothing she could seemingly do about it, it was like the Thalmor all over again, except this time it wasn't her fault.
Throwing her back into the wardrobe, with seemingly no regard for her growls of pain, and locking it Brelyna glared at the door, "You have two days, if you don't tell me anything the other College people can do what they want with you. Make a sound when it's not me asking you a question and I'll do it straight away, I am not in the mood to bring J'Zargo or Onmund into this."
"Can you at least pass me my pack?" Kayci asked in a quiet whimper, not knowing what Brelyna would do and knowing she wouldn't be able to fight back.
Brelyna was confused, "What do you want it for?"
"You know that little Dwemer contraption I told you abou-"
She was quickly cut off when the Dunmer picked up her meaning, "No, just go to sleep or something, I'm not listening to you any longer, and you are not to be talking."
"But I need something to pass the time," she complained, earning a kick to her wooden prison, making her jump, "Fine, I'll just shut up then. As I'm not Kayci how about that moon sug-"
"That's not silence!"
Lydia POV
Resh still wasn't back yet and she was getting more and more pissed off, she needed someone to yell at due to the way he was speaking behind her back but she couldn't go and get angry at one of the Greybeards could she? they were practically mute because they could hurt people speaking.
Still, Lydia also needed to talk to him about Brelyna too, she couldn't let that bitch talk about her like that, she didn't know whether it was the hormones, but Lydia was really annoyed at pretty much everyone. Even Kayci, whose advice, albeit brief, was just as bad, if not worse due to the crudeness, as anything else being said.
The Nord was so angry she wasn't even concerned about Resh, it had been about four or five hours, and the longer it dragged on the more pissed she got and the less she cared about it wellbeing. It was a vicious cycle.
After a few more minutes Lydia finally had an idea…
Resh POV
There was nothing left, he'd eaten the whole Altmer and there was already nothing left. It had only been 30 minutes and now he had to go back now, back to Lydia and her bad mood.
At least there was some silver lining though, not only had he finally had a decent meal but the Thalmor operative actually had some useful stuff on him. He didn't really need the dagger, or the armour, but there had been potions and even better, mead.
Of course he would need to make sure Lydia never found out about the alcohol. He wouldn't want her to get drunk in her current state, Resh couldn't imagine it would help her new personality very much and needed it so he could bear her current one.
Besides he'd heard somewhere that alcohol was bad for human gestation, damn humans were inefficient creatures. How a Tsaesci laid eggs was so much better than what Resh knew about Nordic birth, for one the eggs just 'slid' out, and were smooth and soft, absolutely no pain, but from what Lydia had told him about live births it sounded horrible.
Although he had a strange feeling she wasn't telling the truth, there was no way the Divines would create races that procreated so badly, she was probably just trying to trick him for a laugh, all those hormones, which Tsaesci also didn't have, were making her go rather cruel.
Also, he wasn't sure how long the pregnancy was meant to last but more than three months was about the amount of time it would take for the birth to actually happen for his kind, so he was hoping there wouldn't be much of a difference, any longer and he wouldn't know what to do.
On a less traumatic, but not by much, note the disgusting creature at the top of the mountain had actually been useful for helping his quest, it would be a shame he would have to kill the beast next time he saw it, but it was just sickening to allow that thing to live when he knew where it was located.
That would have to wait first however, he needed to find some scroll, Paarthurnax had been rather secretive as to what was on it which made Resh fairly suspicious, but nevertheless he still needed to find it if it was the only thing that could defeat Alduin, he'd deal with what it actually as when he read it.
He also supposed he might as well find those 'Blades' again, or the pitiful disgrace which passed for them nowadays, that Delphine woman still owed him two sets of armour and another sword, so he wanted to cash in on that.
And, as an ulterior motive he could unload pregnant Lydia on Kayce and Brelyna at the College, it wasn't like she would help in a fight that much. And there was no way he was letting her in a Dwemer ruin in her current state. He just wondered how she'd feel about it.
Kayci POV
The Tsaesci really didn't know what to do about the current predicament, being trapped in a wardrobe wasn't exactly the most dignified way to be captured, but it had still happened, and from the looks of it there would be no way out without alerting Brelyna.
She supposed one option would be to just shift back into her Nordic form and escape like that, but then that would most likely get Brelyna into a lot of trouble, maybe even arrested for abuse of a seemingly 'ordinary' person. And Kayci didn't want that, escaping was a top priority but she didn't want the woman she loved kicked out of the College, that would have to be a backup plan if she was literally moments away from vivisection.
Kayci guessed she just had to spend the next night thinking of a solution, which would be fine if she wasn't incredibly turned on by the whole situation in an odd sort of way. She liked it when Brelyna took charge so forcefully, and although this wasn't something sexual, Brelyna was playing her part better than ever.
Sighing as there wasn't much else to do, Kayci stuck a hand down to her aching regions and set to work. Hoping she wouldn't make any noise that would force Brelyna to kick her prison again, it was a shame the Elf didn't let her have her Dwemer toy.
She wondered what it must be like in Brelyna's point of view, most likely very distressing from what the Elf seemingly believed, although she couldn't help but think some of Brelyna's thoughts about slicing her up came from her scientific side.
Kayci wished she was intelligent like her and Resh, it'd be nice to see things through their eyes, to Brelyna she must be a research opportunity of a lifetime, even more of a reason to get away.
Lydia POV
Looking down at her carefully planned out scheme Lydia smirked, this was definitely going to be a good revenge for Brelyna and Kayci talking about her behind her back. Only once they got into some massive argument would Lydia decide they were 'even'. It was going to be hilarious.
She supposed Resh wasn't in as much trouble seeing as he was looking after her and in all honesty doing a pretty good job at it. But she was still kind of pissed about him not getting back by now, so she would have to make sure he knows that's not okay. She knew it was mostly hormones, but Lydia felt very vengeful recently.
Okay, I hope you enjoyed this tale of grossly exaggerated hormones, cannibals and horny snakes…
