Trish stormed off down the corridor not even noticing the way people were literally jumping out of her way afraid they were going to get a swift kick to the head if they didn't.
Arriving at Stephanie's office door Trish barely paused before she pushed the door open hard and stepped inside, "how can you say this to me?"
Stephanie jumped when the door was pushed open but as she looked at the person who had caused the commotion she shook her head, "I don't think we have anything to say to each other."
Snorting Trish shook her head, "really? You don't think so? Do you want me to read the text out loud to you?"
Standing up Stephanie gave Mikey back Bubbles before she stalked over to Trish and grabbed her arm pulling her to the other side of the office away from Mikey, "I don't know what your problem is. I should be the one who is so pissed off they have steam coming from their ears and not you."
Trish shook her head, "I don't know where you got your information from but whoever it was misled you."
"Oh, so instead of having the balls to stand up and admit the truth you're going to stand there and call my son a liar? How dare you."
Trish sighed raking her fingers through her hair, "he didn't lie as such, he just didn't get it right."
Rolling her eyes Stephanie shook her head, "sure, and what exactly did Mikey get wrong?"
Taking a deep breath Trish just blurted it out, "it's not me he loves so much it hurts . . . it's you."
Mikey was sat watching his Mom and Trish argue and he didn't like it at all so silently he climbed off of the couch and holding Bubbles and his new monkey tightly he padded out of the office and went to find somewhere safe to hide.
Having walked back into the arena after punching Jericho Hunter thought it would be for the best if he hid somewhere out of the way for a bit to allow himself to cool down so making his way down a deserted corridor he took a seat on one of the many packing cases that lined the walls and just tried to relax.
Passing wrestlers who paid no attention to him Mikey kept turning corners unsure of where he was or where he was going but was pleased to get away from the anger that was in his Mom's office. Not paying any attention to who was around him Mikey didn't see Hunter sat on one of the packing cases as he walked down the corridor.
Lifting his head when he heard little footsteps Hunter wondered who was here because he had made sure he was well out of the way and away from everyone. Watching as Mikey started walking down the corridor he kept looking for Stephanie or Trish to be following him but there was nothing and no sounds as if they were coming either. Deciding he'd prefer to get his head bitten off for assuming Stephanie would let her wander around on his own rather than getting his head bitten off for letting him wander the corridors alone Hunter decided to take the plunge, "hi Mikey."
Mikey jumped at the sound of the voice not expecting to hear anyone talking to him. Looking up he frowned when he saw Hunter sat there, "hi."
Moving to sit on the edge of the packing case Hunter patted the case beside him, "where's your Mom or Trish?"
Walking over to where Hunter was sat Mikey reached his arms out for him to lift him up, "Mommy's office."
Lifting the little boy up he placed him on the packing box beside him before he sat back a little and looked at him, "if your Mommy and Trish are in your Mommy's office what are you doing down here all by yourself?"
Mikey looked down at the floor sad holding his two monkey's a little tighter, "they's fight, I's don't like it."
Hunter's eyes widened at the realisation that nobody knew where he was, "so you left and didn't tell your Mommy where you were going?"
Mikey nodded his head, "I's don't like it."
Sighing softly Hunter ruffled Mikey's hair gently, "well I think we need to get you back to your Mommy before she has a heart attack thinking you've gotten hurt. Are you ready to go back to her?"
Shaking his head Mikey didn't want to go back because he knew he would be in trouble, "Mommy be mad."
Hunter knew he needed to get Mikey back to Stephanie so he said the only thing he could think of, "what if I promise to protect you and make sure your Mommy doesn't get mad at you?"
Reluctantly Mikey nodded his head after a minute of thinking, "kay."
Hunter sighed with relief as he stood up, "come on then, let's get you back to her."
Mikey reached out to Hunter, "pick up?"
Chuckling Hunter easily lifted the little boy up into his arms and carried him back through the corridors towards Stephanie's office.
Stephanie stood there staring at Trish when she said that it was her Hunter loved so much it hurt. There were no words currently entering her head that were coherent.
Trish could see the struggle in Stephanie's eyes, "what's wrong?"
Rubbing her face with her hands Stephanie sighed heavily, "why are you saying this? Why are you lying to me? If you want him you can have him, I really don't care."
Rolling her eyes Trish shook her head, "I'm not lying and I do not want Hunter, like ever, never ever ever. If he was the last guy on Earth I would still say no to him. Hunter does seem to have turned over a new leaf and is a lot nicer but I still wouldn't want to be with him. Why are you burying your your head in the sand about this?"
"Why shouldn't I? He didn't believe me like five years ago or whatever the hell it was so why should I believe anything he is saying to me now? I don't trust him now and I will never trust him because he will always let me down. I'm not going to allow my son to get hurt by him."
Frowning Trish shook her head, "you're not going to give him a chance to prove he's changed?"
Stephanie simply shook her head, she didn't see why she should have to.
"So despite the fact that Hunter is making a real effort with you and with Mikey you're simply going to let your stubborn pride get in the way of yours and your son's happiness?"
Shrugging her shoulders Stephanie didn't understand why she didn't get it, "he won't make me happy, he doesn't know how to. Mikey is my number one priority in life, his happiness comes above and beyond my own."
"HA!" Trish smirked, "so you are saying you would like to get back with Hunter then?"
Luckily Stephanie was saved from answering that question by a knock at the door but when she turned around and saw who was there she didn't feel so saved any more.
