Trish arrived at ringside to see Lita and Chris Jericho deep in conversation but they soon stopped and turned to face her when they realised she was coming, "what?"
Jericho leant on the top rope looking at her, "Lita told me about the text. Did you get it sorted?"
Groaning Trish nodded her head, "big mouth. Yes we got it sorted, apparently Mikey had overheard part of my conversation with Hunter and Stephanie had put two and two together and got about seventy billion but it's all sorted now."
Placing her phone on the steps Trish climbed into the ring, "how's the jaw Jericho?"
He laughed softly, "luckily for me it's not too bad thanks. I told Lita I'd help you both with your match later so that's why I'm here if you're wondering."
"Nah, I figured you just wanted to perv over us so I wasn't even going to bother asking."
Lita laughed, "Trish one and Jericho nil."
Jericho glared in Lita's direction, "shut up the both of you or I won't help you."
Walking over to him Trish patted his head like a dog, "aww we're sorry for offending you baby."
Swatting her hand away he went and jumped to the top rope, "come on you two. I don't have all day to wait for you to stop your old woman gossip session."
Trish laughed and turned her attention to Lita to start their training session.
Linda walked back into the house to see Vince looking over a load of papers, "Vince! You are not supposed to be working."
Lifting his head to look at his wife Vince frowned, "but I'm not working. I'm just looking through some notes Stephanie had sent to me to keep me updated on things but it's not working, it's just reading."
Rolling her eyes at her husband she shook her head, "Stephanie should know better than sending it to you anyway."
"I told her she either kept me up to date or I'd go to the offices and find out what is going on myself so she's had the bare minimum information sent to me. You can read it yourself and see that she's not putting me under any sort of pressure but at least this way it'll be better for my health because when I do go back to work I will be up to date with most things."
Grumbling Linda really couldn't argue with him, "well I would still prefer you relaxed all of the time but I guess reading a few sheets of paper won't kill you."
Vince smiled happily at his wife, "thank you. So I was thinking that it would be nice to spend some time with Mikey so if you maybe had some time you could possibly invite them over for dinner later this week?"
Sitting down in a chair she pretended to think about that, "hmmm, I don't know if I'd actually want them to come over and to spend time with them."
Looking at his wife shocked he was about to ask if all of the campaigning had fried her brain when he saw the twinkle in her eyes and he laughed, "I'll leave the arrangements up to you."
Nodding her head Linda pulled out her phone and sent Stephanie a quick text asking her to call when she was free before she tossed her phone onto the coffee table, "I am going to go and do lunch at last so just relax there and I'll be back soon with it."
Nodding his head absently he went back to reading the papers from Stephanie.
Focussed on her work Stephanie didn't pay much attention to her phone beeping because she had spent a lot of time not working that she simply didn't have the time to take out to read what it was so if it was urgent they'd have to ring her phone. Briefly looking over at Mikey she smiled seeing him happily playing on the floor, he was so good sometimes and she was relieved that today was one of those days.
Half an hour later and her eyes were starting to cross from all of the concentration she was doing so sitting back in her chair she lit up the screen on her phone and rolled her eyes seeing it was from her Mom. After she read the text she immediately called her Mom just to make sure that it was nothing serious.
Linda still had half a sandwich left to finish when her cell phone started to ring so leaning forward she put her plate on the coffee table before she picked up her phone smiling when she saw Stephanie's name, "good afternoon Stephanie."
Stephanie smiled softly hearing her Mom's relaxed tone which meant it was nothing serious, "hi. So you texted and asked me to ring when I'm free and I'm free right now so I'm ringing."
Chuckling lowly Linda shook her head, "I had noticed. I just wondered if you and Mikey wanted to come over to dinner on maybe Wednesday evening?"
"Hmmm, I don't know about that, I mean I'd have to ask Mikey if he wanted to have dinner with his Grandma and Grandpa."
Stephanie had barely finished speaking when Mikey was up off the floor and right by her chair tapping her on the arm, "I wants to Mommy, I wants to."
She laughed softly at her son's insistence, "well I guess that's settled Mom, we shall come over for dinner on Wednesday evening. Would you like me to bring anything?"
"Mikey?"
Looking down at her son Stephanie smiled, "nah, I was thinking of giving Mikey to Trish and coming by myself."
Mikey's eyes widened and his bottom lip poked out on a pout, "noooooo Mommy, I come peas."
"Well seeing as you asked nicely I guess you can come home with me tomorrow and you can go and see Grandma and Grandpa on Wednesday evening."
"Yaaaaaay."
Linda could only laugh at the conversation between her daughter and Grandson, "that was just cruel Stephanie. You sound like you're in a good mood though."
Watching as Mikey went back to his toys Stephanie sighed heavily, "it's all an act. Today has definitely not been my favourite day at a WWE event ever."
Unsure of what exactly her daughter meant Linda couldn't help but frown, "why? What has happened?"
"I can't tell you over the phone, not with little ears that can and do hear things. I might tell you on Wednesday if Dad is up to keeping Mikey occupied for a little."
Looking over at her husband who was listening intently to her side of the conversation she nodded her head, "I definitely think he is up to that, he was the one who requested you came for dinner so I think it will do him the world of good to relax with him. I should let you get going back to work though, call me whenever you need to talk and if not I will see you on Wednesday evening when you come for dinner."
Smiling softly Stephanie nodded her head, "thank you Mom, I really appreciate it. Give Dad our love and tell him we'll see him on Wednesday. Bye."
"Goodbye Stephanie and don't forget to give Mike a big hug and a kiss from us."
"Don't worry I will, bye Mom."
The two women hung up and Linda placed her phone back on the coffee table before she picked up the rest of her sandwich, "I'm not sure what's going on but I have a feeling something big went down today and possibly with Hunter."
Vince nodded his head, "I wouldn't be surprised. I am sure we will find out on Wednesday though, you can pump Stephanie for information and I can pump Mikey."
Her eyes widened and she looked at her husband shocked, "Vince! Don't you dare even attempt to do that."
Chuckling at his wife's reaction he shook his head, "I was only playing with you, I wouldn't dare attempt to get information out of Mikey, if he just willingly comes out with something then that really is not my fault."
Looking at her husband suspiciously she raised her eyebrow, "what are you planning?"
Vince looked around innocently, "I'm not planning anything dear." Little did his wife know that he was planning something, a subtle something but he still was planning something to get to the bottom of things between Mikey, Stephanie and Hunter.
Linda didn't trust her husband but she had no proof so couldn't tackle him on it and she didn't want to reveal to him what she was trying to do with Stephanie and her relationship with Hunter incase he didn't agree, little did she know they both wanted the same thing.
