Kayci POV

Colette said that the throwing up was necessary, but Kayci wasn't so sure, even if it was part of the 'detox' it didn't seem right. Everytime she had thrown up in the past it had never been a good thing, drinking too much was the main cause and vomiting felt awful.

She wanted to do something, to help, but unfortunately there was little she could do but watch. It was clear the Elf nor the healer really wanted her here for this, but Kayci had insisted, it was interesting.

Kayci could have watched in fascination all day, but was interrupted by Resh running through the doors with excitement and panic. "Hey Kayce, do you want to see something disgusting?!"

"Worse than this?" she asked, gesturing to the puking woman, being doted upon by the poor restoration tutor.

Resh smirked, not just because of Brelyna's state, but because his situation was the 'winner'. "Much worse. Picture screaming, blood, and little Nords crawling out of Lydia."

The smaller Tsaesci looked at him like he was insane, wondering what could have been happening. "Why would that be happening?"

A few moments passed as Resh tried to leave the woman some time to piece together what had happened, but she just stared back blankly, prompting him to sigh and pinch his nose. He would have thought her stay at a College for more than half a year would have made her have a little bit more common sense.

Fortunately instead of him having to tell her the restoration woman had spoken up. "Are you talking about that Lydia woman? the pregnant one who's been drinki-"

Resh's frown quickly stopped her continuing before she said something even worse, he and the Nord were really going to have a long conversation once this was all over. "Anyway though, I should really be there to help deliver the baby. I have practice in this sort of thing all the time, you wouldn't believe how many of Skyrim's top students are too stupid to understand how to use contraception."

Kayci couldn't keep herself from blurting out a laugh at that. "So Resh, do you reckon you would be one of the top students of Skyrim? you seem to have the same problems as them."

His subsequent glaring at her only made the woman giggle even more, Kayci knew him too well for his angry glares to mean anything.

"Oh, so this wasn't planned?" Colette asked in shock. "I guess that makes sense considering some of what's happened in your absence… but yeah we should go."

With no time to lose Resh darted outside and helped Lydia through the doors, taking her upstairs with Kayci and the healer to a clean and unused room, far away from the Dunmer who was looking around in surprise at how quickly everyone had left.

"Isn't anyone going to stay here with me…?" she asked to the empty space, garnering no response before throwing up again.

5 Mins Later

Resh POV

Birth Scene, Watch Out Those Who're Squeamish

Despite Resh being the father, or Colette being the one who actually knew how to deliver a baby the person whose head was most often peering into Lydia's naked lower half was Kayci. They all thought it was slightly weird, but no one really wanted to push her away, she wasn't being sexual about it or anything, just genuinely curious as to what was happening, like a child would be.

"So where does this thing come out?" she asked at last, causing everyone to splutter, Colette was actually surprised someone so stupid regarding common sense could function as a normal person without learning disabilities.

"The same way it goes in," the healer sighed, deciding now would be a good time to pull Kayci away, the smaller Tsaesci looked like she was going to start… feeling around.

Not being put off by the Breton slapping her away Kayci enquired even further. "And how long will it take?"

"It's her first child so likely about eight hours. Most of it will be space in between contractions to widen the exit for the child, then the last 5 minutes will be the actual birth," she went on, happy now that the woman had asked a worthwhile question this time.

"What's a contraction?" instead of the Breton telling her she was answered with a piercing scream from Lydia.

Resh cringed at the sound. "I'm guessing that is… damn, with my kid in there that's going to be big… and painful."

5 Hours Later

Were it not for the rooms sound proofing spells the whole college hall would've hear Lydia's screams. Resh had to admit that he felt guilty about what he had put her through, although it was mostly her fault he still had a fairly large part in this, especially considering his physical stature is well above that of even most Nords, so no doubt this was painful for her.

According to Colette there wasn't really anything he could do about it either, he just had to watch as she sweat, and cried, and screamed. It was horrible, human birth was just so inefficient and horrible, why any species would be this way was beyond him.

The healer had taken the more important roles involved, such as making sure there was no contamination, and checking to see how dilated Lydia was, leaving Resh with what was left over. Short of letting Lydia crush his hand every time she screamed, and batting Kayci away every time she got too close to see what was happening he just had to stand idly by.

She may have been a lot smaller than him but it didn't half hurt, even without sharp nails she was still drawing blood, the only reason he was tolerating it is because if he didn't it was obvious the pain of contractions would be a lot worse. With any luck that would be all the damage done to his hand, although he was fairly certain any longer would break a few bones.

"How much longer will thi-" Resh started, but being unheard over the sound of another horrific shriek, it was heart wrenching in its own way.

Not looking up at him, and continuing to tend to the Nord Colette responded. "Only another three hours or so. Despite the size of the child in here it seems eager to leave, so it shouldn't take long. Whether that's good or not is yet to be known, there could be tearing if your baby is too large, and with that comes dangerous infection."

Resh's eyes widened as he almost forgot about that. "Shit! what are her chances then? I knew birth was dangerous but I'd always tried to remain ignorant… Just tell me the truth, what are here chances?"

"You don't need to worry, this isn't in some tavern full of magic haters like most of the births in this country, I can do this safely and have never lost a mother," Colette assured him, trying to stop him panicking before even starting, it would just be dangerous for someone like him to.

His visible sigh of relief only lasted a moment before Lydia yelled out loud again, it wasn't so much because of pain this time rather than Kayci seizing her moment to take a proper look at what was happening, and seeing how loose the Nord had gotten.

"Kayci, no!" he snapped, batting her away with his hand. It was almost comical in a sense, she really had no idea and was acting like a curious hatchling only just discovering how people reacted to being poked and prodded.

Unfortunately the case this time was a lot more serious than her childish wonder, so she would have to act that way once they were done. He wasn't ready to risk Lydia's wellbeing just because Kayci was too stupid to realise she could be an unsanitary danger.

3 Hours Later, The Birth

Resh didn't know how she could tell but apparently it was finally happening. Colette was shouting something about the dilation reaching ten centimetres, but by that time Resh had stopped paying attention, focusing now on blocking out Lydia's panting and screaming, and thinking of ways he could come out of this with a hand still intact.

Fortunately Kayci had decided it wasn't worth trying to get a closer look if she was just going to be swatted away, so she just leaned against the closest wall and angled herself to get a good view of what was going on. It had definitely saved them a lot of effort.

He had hoped the contractions would be the most painful for her, but it seemed the worst parts were just starting. "Push!" the Breton shouted, prompting Lydia to cry out in pain as she strained her lower half as much as she could.

The Tsaesci had to do all he could to keep himself from shouting too, there was no way he was going to be able to use this hand for a while without some magic, he kept silent though, so as not to seem weak in comparison to Lydia. In a way he already felt weaker than her, he doubted he would've been able to do the same were the roles reversed.

Hoping it wouldn't scar him for life Resh decided to look down and see what was happening, whatever it was definitely had Kayci engrossed, so it must have been important…

Needless to say after watching the bloody mess that used to be one of his favourite place try to force the skull I giant baby out of itself Resh doubted he'd ever feel attracted to Lydia again. It must have been awful for her to squeeze it out, because every time 'push' was shouted, and the baby inched a little further out the room was filled with pained moaning and a blood curdling scream.

Halfway through it got to the point where she pushed so hard it wasn't just a baby that started to squeeze its way out from Lydia. Resh probably would have collapsed in disgust were it not for Colette immediately cleaning the area with magic and water, and explaining to him that bowel movements among other bodily functions were common during birth, it still didn't make him much more comfortable with it though.

After what seemed like a few more hours things finally seemed over, Lydia had stopped screaming, and was now panting in the bed she was lying in, no doubt about to sleep any second now; and Colette was standing holding a young, but large, child in her arms.

It may still have been connected to Lydia by a long slimy tube, but she handed it over to him none the less. He would've spent more time doting over it in the brief period he held it, but Colette wasn't finished yet. "Time for the afterbirth now, get ready for more pushing Lydia."

"What…?" he asked wearily, before looking down again at what was happening. Brelyna wasn't going to be the only one throwing up…

Graphic Birth Over (If my description was incorrect please tell me, I don't have any first hand experience so I wouldn't know)

5 Mins Later (Umbilical cord cutting, cleaning the baby etc)

"So Kayci," Resh smiled, passing the little girl over to her. "Consider yourself an aunt."

"Really?" she asked, eyes brimming with tears at the idea of the responsibility, and all the general emotions of the situation.

"Really," he confirmed, before leaning in close with what could have been perceived as a hug, and whispering in a low hiss so no one else could hear. "If you try and fuck her when she's older I'm going to kill you…"

Resh POV

"So what are you going to name her?" Kayci asked him, ignoring his threat, she would never try to sleep with his new daughter… unless she grew up to be hot that is.

"I don't know yet, I haven't really thought about it. She's a Nord, so probably something Nordic. I guess I should wait until Lydia is awake before deciding something like this, she's all tired out," he replied, glancing down at the unconscious woman.

Kayci laughed. "She'll be definitely incapacitated for a few days, you really did a number on her with this giant of a child, maybe she'll grow up to be just like you."

"I'm going to go to the Arcanaeum then I guess since I have time, something to do with sorting out the dragons involves getting some book to find out how to defeat Alduin, if Lydia is going to be out cold for a long time I might be able to get a few things done," the Tsaesci explained to her, deciding it would be best to be with his daughter when Lydia was awake, rather than just by himself.

"Really? should I go with you?"

"I guess so if you want. Just leave the baby with Colette and she'll take care of her and Lydia for now, while we're gone we can think of a name too," he told her, allowing the healer time to snatch the baby away. The Breton probably thought, from her experience with Kayci so far, that it was best not to leave a child around her.

10 Minutes Later

"How about 'Ingrid'?" Kayci asked him, only to be met with a roll of the eyes.

"No, pick a pretty name."

"Annaliese?"

"No."

Kayci scoffed. "Just because it sounds like 'anal' you shoot it down."

"That hadn't even crossed my mind," Resh muttered, shaking his head at how crude she was. "And the very fact it had crossed yours and you still suggested it makes me unsure how much I want you helping me with this…"

"Fine. Which book is it you want? there must be thousands in here," Kayci announced, gesturing to the rest of the room, she still hadn't given up on thinking of names, but she was just going to give it a rest for a while.

"It's called 'Discerning the Transmundane', I'll just ask the librarian so you don't need to go rooting around in all the bookcases, like I'm sure you will if I don't expressly say not to," Resh sighed, adding the last bit when he noticed her start pulling books out to be helpful the moment he mentioned the title.

As if on cue the Orc by the desk responded, apparently overhearing what they had said. "I can get it if you want, there's not much point though, the damn fool who wrote it made the thing incomprehensible gibberish."

Resh frowned. "Do you know where I can find the writer then? perhaps they can tell me what I need to know."

Urag nodded before grabbing out a map, and scribbling on it. "Here, now do me a favour and get that idiotic woman out!" the old Orc grumbled, pointing irritatedly at Kayci, who had now pulled almost every book from 'bookshelf Q IV' onto the floor.

Thanking the man Resh quickly hurried Kayci out of the room after taking the map, he didn't want her to cause any more damage than she had already. Clearly a place of Academia was not the place for his friend, Resh decided she should probably come with him when he goes to Markarth for his first day in charge.

"Do you even know how to spell 'Transmuting'? I understand it may be difficult as you've only just started learning to write, but really? starting it with a 'Q'? why, just why?" he asked in exasperation, he'd known her for so many years but it seemed every day he was surprised by her ignorance, it baffled him really.

"They're sort of similar lette-"

Resh cut her off, not bothered enough to hear her excuse. "No, they're not… Oh Kayce, did I tell you? I've got some pretty high up affiliations with the Thalmor now, I could probably just get them to do all this for me, they're pretty much just my lackeys who do anything I ask like pawns."

At the very least Resh was expecting a laugh at that, but he got nothing. Instead it almost seemed like he upset her, because for some reason she was just mumbling, he couldn't make out the words, but he was sure he heard 'Thalmor', and 'Elenwen' in there somewhere.

"Are you okay?" he asked sympathetically, tilting up her head so he could see her face.

Steeling herself so he wouldn't see any more of her hurt Kayci nodded, trying to avoid any memories flooding back in the middle of a conversation.

He didn't look convinced, so smiled at her to try and coax something out of her. "Seriously Kayci, I'm your friend, if there is something wrong tell me, I'll believe you no matter what, we're like family."

A few seconds passed and Kayci swallowed her fears and finally spoke up. "We need to talk about Elenwen."

A look of knowing dawned on his face as Resh thought he realised what was going on, and he started laughing. "Oooh I get it… You're jealous of me for fucking the woman you broke up with. I guess you can say the better snake won."

"You slept with her?!" she hissed, grabbing him by the chest and pulling him down to her level, it only made him smirk some more as he perceived it as friendly banter.

He almost laughed again as he remembered what he could say to rub it in even more. "She even let me do it as a Tsaesci, I guess you can just say I'm amazing that w-"

"Why would you let that evil bitch touch you!?" she screamed, shaking him in a fit of hysterics, as she broke down.

Resh was stunned, not really sure what to do at her massive overreaction. "Uhh, because I wanted her to…"

"Oh Resh! don't go into denial too! I can't believe she did it to you as well!" she shouted, pounding her fists into his chest in anger and upset.

"Kayci, Kayci, calm down, calm down, people might hear you. What are you talking about?" he asked in a hushed voice, trying to stop her exploding again, by holding her close to make her stay calm.

"I'm sorry Resh," she cried, hugging closer to him. "I'm so sorry, I should have told you sooner then she wouldn't have raped you too!"

Resh froze, and whispered. "What did you just say?"

"I'm sorry she raped you too, it's my fault," she repeated, now saying it over and over as a mantra, until he shook her out of it.

The Tsaesci twitched slightly in fury as he tried to comprehend what he was hearing. "Are you telling me that Elenwen, the Thalmor ambassador we all know, sexually assaulted you?" he asked in a low and deadly voice, he was just making sure they were talking about the same Elenwen.

Kayci was visibly shaking now, scared for Resh considering what she thought had happened to him too, never the less she forced out a nod. Even if Kayci hadn't reacted how she did he would've believed her, he trusted her completely and knew that she would never lie to him.

Almost immediately Resh stormed off in a haze of fury, striding down to where he had left all of his stuff. Running to keep up Kayci grabbed his arm, stopping him for a moment. "Where are you going?"

Grabbing his sword Resh pushed past her in anger. "I'm going to fucking kill that bitch!"
