AN: Thanks again, Koshkemeow! You made my day!
3.08d Let Light Shine Within
Now, after a stint in New Haven town,
That brought all who went there, in fight, rather down,
Did Rory discover her very next chance.
'Round Lucas's knowledge did both of them dance.
The two had, from confines of watchful eyes, flown
To meet they again, where they'd be alone:
At Gypsy's—a shop where he'd find a part.
(Luke thought for his car. In truth, for his heart.)
His nervousness threatened, so Jess held a smoke.
But cigarettes' fire could Jess nary stoke.
He knew she would come. He hoped they would kiss.
And he didn't want her to taste him like this.
He looked to his left and Then She Appeared
And, like his best dream, she steadily neared.
And then, right before him, she dazzling stood.
And he would describe it, as XTC could.
"Are you gonna smoke it—or mind meld with that?"
She teased as she witnessed his held cigarette.
His heart skipped a beat but his teasing transcended,
As he kept his cool and replied it depended.
"So where is the part?" her teasing continued.
(She knew that, of car part, a lie had been issued.)
Said, "Huh, I don't know. But this is the spot
That Gypsy would leave it. I guess she forgot."
Their eyes shared a gaze. Magnetic it was,
To pull them both closer—and calming because,
With sultry tones oozing from words, they were easing—
With Gypsy, the scapegoat, for more of their teasing.
Jess stepped even closer and led with a, "So."
And Rory, his meaning, did certainly know,
So she would repeat it, while leading as well,
To cast for each other a hypnotic spell.
With gaze to his cigarette, Rory went on.
She asked what abstention depended upon.
"On what's gonna happen," he said it depended.
Their kiss, they both knew, was a reason most splendid.
From all their false starts, with disbelief then
And heart in her throat, she asked of him, "When?"
Jess reached out to her, to gently allow
Her into his arms, with soft whisper, "Now."
Then, getting their chance, they started to kiss,
And Fates watched upon a scene of pure bliss.
And, though they knew better, they started to swoon
To take in the sight of such sweet honeymoon!
Though kiss did complete and eyes fluttered open,
Their intimacy was surely unbroken.
At long last alone, their world did comprise
Of only fond arms and affectionate eyes.
"Just look! My Dear Gods! You see how they are?
Their hearts like two drums! Their love like a star!
It twinkles and smoulders with genuine light,
With him in amazement and her in delight!"
His face was lit up like the Fourth of July!
(And rare was the sight of a smile on this guy!
Its glory astounded their eyes when they saw it!
The Fates hoped that Jess would not soon withdraw it!)
"I'm glad," the girl whispered, "That you didn't smoke."
"Oh yeah?" were the words that he, to her, spoke.
His whisper was sweet and tugged on her heart
'Til she knew their lips were too far apart.
Together they drew, with nothing amiss,
Resulting in one more unparalleled kiss.
They held one another, so tightly, as though
The one from the other would never let go.
Atropos cheered loudly and went to get wine
To toast the young lovers their love so divine.
Lachesis and Clotho, though knowing it wrong,
Felt festive enough to join right along.
Said Clotho, "A moment we all can afford..."
Lachesis then laughed, in sudden accord,
And feeling the levity, started to joke,
"At least it's a reason for him not to smoke!"
On earth, were two sets of inquisitive grips
That danced to the concert of passionate lips,
To leave the two dazed with hearts pounding, so
The Fates did regret she'd soon have to go.

AN: Ahhh! Could XTC's music and lyrics for Then She Appeared be any more perfect for this scene?
Sorry the chapter was so short today! Short and sweet?
