Linda was in the middle of a meeting when her cell phone vibrated indicating that she had a text but she couldn't read it yet. The meeting didn't end for a couple of hours after she had received the text but as soon as it did and the coast was clear she pulled her phone from her jacket pocket and looked at it frowning a little when she saw that the text was from Stephanie.
Opening the text her frown got deeper when she read the text and she was really worried because there was just something about the way it was written that filled her with dread. Having kept Stephanie waiting long enough already she quickly answered the text:
Of course. I can fit you in Wednesday lunchtime if you want but it won't be until about 1. xxx
Jumping when her phone beeped Stephanie was relieved when she saw her Mom had replied. One o'clock was fine with her as the sooner she got some help trying to work out what the best thing to do was the better she would feel.
1 is fine, thanks a lot Mom. xxx
Relieved to have a date and a time for some Mother and daughter time Stephanie put her head down and went back to work trying to push all thoughts of Hunter from her mind.
Dropping home in-between meetings Linda wanted to check up on Vince and inform him of the text she had received. As she walked in the front door she saw Vince exiting the kitchen, "I received an interesting text from our daughter earlier."
The way his wife phrased it made Vince a little worried, "oh no, what has she done?"
Laughing softly at her husband's immediate reaction being one of dread she shook her head, "she hasn't done anything but I have a feeling a certain blonde wrestler may have done something because according to the text I received she needs 'help', whatever that may mean."
Not entirely sure where his wife got the feeling Hunter had something to do with it from he looked at her oddly, "are you hallucinating? It could be a WWE thing you know and she doesn't want to bother me about it."
"If it was a WWE thing then she would have rung me and would need the help more urgently than 'sometime this week'. I definitely get the feeling that this is personal and not business related."
Feeling a little relieved that his wife didn't think it was business related which would mean that everything at work was still going well and he wouldn't come back to mayhem he was a little anxious about it being personal. Sighing heavily Vince shook his head, "on one hand I am relieved that you don't think it is business related but then on the other hand I am nervous about it being related to her personal life. What if Hunter has done something bad and really stupid?"
Wanting to put her husband's mind as at ease as possible she tried to rationalise with him, "if he had done something that was bad and actually important she would have rung me as she would want to get it sorted out as soon as possible and not wait until later in the week."
"So you think this may be some good progress between them?"
Good progress was not something she would go as far as to say but she would agree with him on one point, "I think there has been some progress between them, I am just not sure exactly what that progress is and whether it is good or bad. I will find out on Wednesday though and I will be sure to report back to you on it."
Looking at his wife sternly he nodded his head, "you'd better. I need to be kept up to date on what is going on in her life."
Laughing softly Linda walked over to her husband and kissed his cheek, "I know you do dear. I've got to get going back to work though but I just wanted to drop by and make sure you were okay and to tell you about the text."
Smiling at his wife he was grateful for her love and support, "I'm fine, I promise. I will see you later though, don't work too hard."
"Yes Vince, whatever you say."
Turning around she walked back out of the front door to go back to work on her campaign.
Taking a break from working Stephanie looked over at Mikey who was colouring on the floor, "how about you and I take a break from our work and go and see if anyone is working in the ring?"
Mikey's eyes widened and he shot up from the floor, "really Mommy?"
Smiling softly she nodded her head, "really. I think we have both earned the break but if there is anybody working in the ring you won't be able to go in okay?"
Nodding his head sadly he didn't like it but he knew he had to do what his Mom said if there was any chance of him playing in the ring.
Watching as her son grabbed his favourite two monkeys Stephanie got up from her seat behind the desk and walked towards the door quickly followed by Mikey.
Walking out towards the ring she was surprised to see that it was empty and that there was nobody around but it was good for her as it meant Mikey could let off some of his energy in the ring, "it looks like it is your lucky day."
Squealing with delight he ran down the ramp until he reached the ring looking up at it before he looked back at his Mom willing her to speed up.
Seeing the look in his eyes she walked a little faster until she reached the ring immediately picking Mikey up and placing him on the apron, "now climb through the ropes really carefully."
Doing exactly as his Mom told him to he climbed through the ropes until he was in the ring and then he started to run around it in circles.
Walking up the steps to the ring she climbed inside before she climbed the ropes and sat down on the top turnbuckle watching him as he ran around having fun.
Chris Jericho was currently searching for Stephanie as he needed a weekend off for a family function but he was having no luck so far. There was only one place left for Jericho to try and that was the ring so walking out of the guerilla he wasn't really surprised to see her sat on the turnbuckle as Mikey ran around the ring and got his monkeys to do flying moves off the top rope.
Making his way down to the ring he climbed up onto the apron beside her, "is now a bad time?"
Feeling a presence beside her she wasn't scared when Jericho spoke to her. Turning her head to look at him she shook her head before turning her attention back to Mikey, "not really, unless it involves my attention being on you and not Mikey and then it would be as I dread to think what he would try if I wasn't looking."
Laughing softly he knew what she meant, "no no, you don't need to take your attention off of Mikey. I was just wondering what the chances of me having next weekend off were please? I have just been informed of a family thing and I would really like to go if you can spare me."
Shrugging her shoulders she didn't see a problem with it, "well I can't see the schedule right now to see who is off that weekend but I don't think anybody else is off so I will give you a provisional yes and confirm it later on after I get back to my office if that's okay?"
Nodding his head he was satisfied with that answer, "that would be great, thank you. So how are you? How are things?"
Sighing softly she shrugged her shoulders, "I don't really know to be honest, I have so much going on in my head right now that I feel like I am just running on auto pilot."
Before he had chance to ask if she needed somebody to talk to Mikey ran over to him, "Jerky! Come play wesslers."
Stephanie immediately frowned at that idea, "Mikey, Jericho is not going to teach you how to wrestle."
Looking up at his Mom he frowned, "not me, Bubbles and Monkey."
Jericho looked at Stephanie for approval and she nodded her head, if it wasn't on Mikey then he was okay with it. Climbing in the ring he took the two monkeys from Mikey, "so is your new monkey officially just called Monkey?"
Mikey nodded his head, "his name's Monkey."
Smiling softly at the little boy he sat himself on the floor and crossed his legs, "well how about we teach Bubbles and Monkey how to do the Walls of Jericho?"
Sitting next to Jericho on the floor he eagerly nodded his head, "Walls of Jerky."
Sitting on the top of the turnbuckle Stephanie watched the two of them playing together, most of the wrestlers had been incredibly welcoming to Mikey but some were just more welcoming than others.
