I had a request for a second chapter of this today and as I have so many chapters stored I thought I would oblige. If you've not read the first chapter from today then you need to read that before you read this one :) I'll happily take a review on each new chapter though lol

Hunter was home for a few days and was planning to relax and spend some time with his family and maybe think of some other ways to impress Stephanie and prove to her that he was a changed person. First on his to-do list was a visit to the gym before he went to pick up some food at the store.

A late night travelling meant he didn't get home until the early hours so he didn't bother with setting his alarm and would just start the day whenever he woke up which meant he didn't walk into the gym until lunchtime.

Getting close to finishing his workout he paused to dry his hands a little with a towel, as he threw his towel down again to finish his training session his phone started to ring. Fully expecting the person on the other end to be his sister chasing him about something he picked his phone up and frowned when he just saw a number and not immediately recognising it he reluctantly accepted the call, "hello?"

Nervously listening to the phone ring she wanted him to answer but on the other hand she wished it would go to voice mail so she could bottle out of the phone call. About to give up on the phone call she went to pull the phone from her ear but then he answered and she knew she couldn't, "Hunter it's me."

Hunter swore his heart nearly stopped beating when he heard her voice, what did she want and why was she calling him? Gulping he moved away from the other people training, "oh hi Stephanie. What can I do for you?"

Looking back at her Mom who gave her a nod of encouragement she felt like she could throw up at any moment, "this isn't a business call."

He could have sworn she was nervous simply by the way she was talking as she didn't sound as confident as she normally did, "okay then. What can I do for you in a non-business sense?"

"Are you dating anybody?"

Laughing softly he was surprised by the questioning, "why? Are you offering yourself? To answer your question though, no I am not dating anybody. It would be stupid of me to date somebody when I told you I wanted you back don't you think?"

Smiling softly at his comments she looked at the floor, "what if I was offering myself?"

He had only been joking around not expecting her to be interested in dating him just yet so when she mentioned offering herself he dropped his phone in shock immediately swearing and quickly bent down to pick it up.

Wincing when there was a bang as the phone hit the floor she giggled when she heard him swear waiting for him to pick it up again.

As soon as he had the phone in his hand again he put it back to his ear, "sorry, I am at the gym and my hands are a bit sweaty."

Not believing him at all she just decided to give him a free pass because it did make her feel a little better as he was clearly as nervous about this as she was, "that's okay Hunter. So I'm still waiting for my question to be answered."

Deciding to just take the plunge he was going to be honest with her, "if you were offering yourself as my date I'd probably die of shock or something. Why are you asking if you don't mind me asking?"

Sitting down on the windowsill she sighed softly, "because I was kind of wondering if maybe you would want to go out on a date with me?"

He felt like he was in some weird twilight zone, was she seriously asking him out on a date after everything that had gone down between them and everything that had been said between them? Before he knew what he was saying the words came out of his mouth, "is this some sort of sick joke?"

"What? Why would you think I would ring you up and ask you out as a joke?"

Sighing softly he shrugged despite her being unable to see him, "I don't know, I guess after everything I didn't expect you to want to go out with me. If you're serious though I would love to go out on a date with you. You can pick the date, time and even the place if you wish."

Stephanie was starting to really see the different Hunter, "are you sure you don't want a say in any of it?"

"Well if you want me to have a say I will have a say but I thought maybe so you were at your most comfortable then you could pick it all that and I am assuming you'd need to get a babysitter for Mikey so it would be easier for you to pick the date and time as you will know when you can get someone."

He was being so sweet she wasn't sure she was talking to the right guy, "okay then how about Friday night about eight we got out for dinner?"

Thinking quickly about his schedule and what time he was flying out for the house shows he realised he could do Friday night, "that's good with me, just text me your address and I will pick you up about half past seven to go to the restaurant."

"You don't have to pick me up, I can make my own way there."

He wasn't sure if she was just being independent or if she didn't want him to know her address, "but I want to pick you up, it's the gentlemanly thing to do."

Laughing at the fact that he wanted to be gentlemanly she shrugged her shoulders, "well if that's what you want then I'll make reservations and then I'll text you my address and where we're eating."

"Sounds good. Thank you and I look forward to dinner on Friday night."

Smiling softly she nodded her head, "I look forward to it too. See you Friday Hunter, bye."

Feeling on cloud nine he smiled, "bye Steph."

Hanging up the phone he immediately saved her number into his phone before he went back to his workout to finish it up before he went to do some shopping.

Ending the call with Hunter Stephanie moved to put her phone on the coffee table. Sitting back down on the couch she looked at her Mom, "so we're going out to dinner on Friday night, he's going to pick me up about half past seven and we're going to eat at eight, I just have to make reservations. Do you want to come here to watch Mikey or do you want me to bring him to you and then pick him up after my date?"

Looking at her daughter like she was out of her mind Linda shook her head, "you're going to have to bring Mikey to ours just incase I'm not home by that time. Don't you even think about coming to pick Mikey up after your date, let's make it a sleepover for him and that way he won't wonder what's going on and won't ask questions."

Realising that her Mom was talking some sense she nodded her head, "I guess that makes a lot of sense. Are you sure Dad won't mind?"

"Are you serious? Your Dad will be in absolute heaven getting to spend the entire night with Mikey and I will really enjoy it also so are you agreeing with me now?"

Nodding her head Stephanie was going to agree, "okay fine, I agree. I'm so glad that you got me to do that, I don't know how it is going to go but I'm hoping that even if it ends badly I can get some proper closure on the entire relationship and if it does work out well then maybe Mikey will have his Dad in his life."

Moving closer to her daughter she gave her a hug, "you're more than welcome. I hope things work out well for you so you and Mikey can both be happy but just take it slowly."

Laughing softly she nodded her head, "trust me, I am going to be taking this really slow. How long until you have to go to know whether Mikey is going to come and say goodbye or is going to come and spend some time with you?"

Looking at her watch Linda frowned, "I only have about five or ten more minutes and then I've got to get going."

Smiling Stephanie got up from her seat and went to the playroom smiling when she saw Mikey playing happily, "you can come out and see Grandma again if you want, I think she's got something she wants to tell you."

Excited to hear what his Grandma had to say Mikey ran past his Mom screaming, "Gramma!"

Turning to look at the doorway she smiled when she saw Mikey run into the room straight over to her, "hello again Mikey."

Mikey smiled throwing his arms around her neck, "Mommy say you has somefing for me."

Lifting him up to sit him in her lap she smiled softly, "okay so you see on Friday I was thinking that maybe you'd like to come over to mine and Grandpa's house and have a sleepover at ours and then your Mom can pick you up on Saturday."

His eyes widened in surprise at the thought, "really?"

Nodding her head she liked his enthusiasm, "really, only if you want to though."

Turning his head to look at his Mom he was hopeful, "can I Mommy?"

Walking over to the couch she pressed a soft kiss to the top of his head, "you certainly can if you want to."

"I do Mommy, peas."

Linda smiled at her daughter, "then that is settled, on Friday night you are coming to stay with your Grandpa and I but now I need to get back to campaigning so I will love you and leave you."

Hugging his Grandma tightly he slipped off her lap, "love you Gramma."

Smiling she stood up before bending down to kiss the top of his head, "I love you too baby boy. You stay here whilst Mommy walks me out."

Obediently sitting down on the couch he sat and watched as his Mom and Grandma walked out of the room.

Once they were out of earshot Linda turned to her daughter, "so Mikey is excited, are you?"

Shaking her head she gulped, "absolutely not, I feel nauseous and ready to throw up and I'm still days away from the actual date. I won't back out though, my next job will be making a reservation and then I will go back to work and focus my attention on that and on Mikey. Thank you for today though, it means a lot that you took the time to come over and help me out. Good luck and if there is anything I can do to help you then please let me know."

Hugging her daughter tightly Linda smiled, "you're doing enough for me already with running the WWE and keeping your Dad barely updated but if there is anything else I will let you know. Call me if there is anything I can do to help between now and Friday and if not I'll call Friday morning to arrange the details."

Nodding her head Stephanie opened the door for her Mom, "I will, I promise. Bye Mom."

"Bye Stephanie."

Watching as her Mom walked out of the door she waited until she was safely in her car and driving away. As soon as she was out of sight Stephanie shut the door firmly before she leaned back against it sighing softly and resting her head back, she was doing the right thing wasn't she?
