Chapter 6.

*Previously in Chapter 5*
It was just me and Jack now, I turned around to look at him and noticed something, he eye was all swollen, and not like it was yesterday, no it wasn't from crying; it was bright purple with a tint of black; it was half opened, on the right side of his cheek he had a slash which was very lightly bleeding,
"Jack! What happened?" I asked, I walked up to him and touched his swollen eye
"That's a funny story, last night I was practicing my boa-staff and managed to poke my eye" he lightly chuckled, no way that story was true, Jack was WAY to go with the boa-staff he would never make a mistake like that
"Okay well explain your cheek" I asked sternly looking up at him, I could see pain and fear in his eyes but he hid it so well with a simple smile
"I guess I most have slashed it in my sleep" he said as he turned around and finished practicing his boa-staff
I gave up; I figured its no use in forcing it out of him when he obviously didn't want to talk about it, I turned around to grab something out of my locker when I remembered how I wanted to tell Jack how I was going to stay at Graces and he didn't need to worry; I turned around and started to say something when I noticed he was looking down at his stomach, my jaw quickly dropped and I ran up to him, there was a huge red blotch on his robe on the side of his stomach
"Oh my… Jack what happened!" I yelled and gently pushed him to sit down, I touched the wound and it was very obvious that it was blood, I quickly helped him take off the top half of his karate robe; there was a bandage wrapped around his stomach and blood was leaking through it at his side
"You tell me what happen right now and I swear you do NOT lie to me!"

I look up at Jack and notice tears in his eyes; he takes a glance at me then looks away
"Jack who did this to you?!" I scream, he goes to stand up but I put my hand on his shoulder and turn him around, he looks like a abused puppy; so scared, hurt, worried, I can't believe I didn't see this before, we had been taking karate for about 2 years now; how had I not seen his pain? I remember him always being hurt but he always had a solid background and he always looked so happy
"Jack… was it your Dad?" I asked as he saw him wince at the sound of his name, tears quickly fell down his face, I put my arms around him and pulled him into a tight hug,
(WRITERS NOTE: Once I have finished this book I am writing a follow-up to this one about while she was pregnant and what happened, if y'all want me to. I totally screwed up, I made Sadie 2 when she needs to be 5, sorry; she is now 5.)
*Present Time*
"Finish up your breakfast Sadie!" I said as I looked up from my phone to see her smiling at me, my heart ached as I saw a little bit of her Father in her smile, she would never know who her Father is,
"Mummy"
"Yeah sweetie?"
"Whose J-a-c-k" she spelled out Jacks name as she brought up a book with Jack and I on the cover smiling; it was our scrapbook filled with a bunch of summer photos of us and the gang,
I missed the gang so much, After Jack left for Collage, Grace moved to France with her Fiancé, Gale, Jerry and a couple people from the Black dragons started a dance group and went on tour, Milton left to Missouri because he said 'there was no one left for him here' and Eddie has 4 kids and is a Janitor for Sea ford high, and I was left by myself to raise Sadie,
"That's mine!" I say as I run around the Island and grab the book from her
"Who is he? You and him look really happy together" I flinch at the thoughts of all the good memories we had, I open my mouth to say something when I look up at the clock, its 11:15
"Sadie we have to go" I say as I put the book down and grab her hand, I pick her up with my right arm and grab her backpack and swing it over my shoulder with my left,
"Mummy who is he?" she asks again
"He's no one but a old memory" I answer, she looks at me with a confusing look but is content with the answer.
"Okay sweetie I'll pick you up in a couple hours" I watch her smile and wave and run towards the door, a teacher greets her with a smile and nods at me, I watch her go inside; I sit in front of the school for a second when my phone rings, I look down at the phone, it's a unknown number; I ignore the call and put it back in my purse, I drive home and stop at Starbucks on the way home.
I lie on my couch with my feet on the coffee table, Avenged sevenfold is blaring on my IPhone, and CSI is quietly playing on my TV, I grab my IPhone and start playing on Candy Crush when the music softens and the app closes, my phone starts ringing; the number is unknown, I ignore the call and turn the music back on, I'm about the defeat level 128 when the door bell rings, I stand up and walk towards the door; I look through the peek hole and see Jack, he looks the same; just a bit taller
"Go away" I say firmly
"Stay away from me and stay away from Sadie" I say as I twist the lock and solidly press my back against the door and put my feet in place
"I'm sorry Kim; I made a mistake and I'm sorry"
"It's too late! You have missed 5 years of her life! She doesn't even know who you are" I try to keep my voice steady but I'm shaking and my hands are trembling
"I understand that you're mad but you don't get it! I was trying to keep you save!" he yells back at me
"See Jack; you always had that fault, you can never take full responsibility for your actions" my voice is now totally shaking, I can barely stand
"Kim! Please you don't get how guilty I feel! I love you and I always have, this has been harder on me!" I stand up and swing the door open
"Don't give me that Brewer! Because it hasn't! I have had to raise a baby all by myself; she never had a Dad there to keep her safe! I tried to find other guys but they all were twice as bad! I was all alone! I have spent so much time wasting on you; wishing you were to come home but it's too late, I still loved you and that was the hardest part, because as much as I hated you I loved you even more!" I feel tears fall down my face and my legs break out on me; I fall forward and Jack catches me, I lie on his shoulder and cry
"I swear I will never leave you again".
