You Shouldn't Have Left.

Chapter 8.

Thanks guys:* here's another chapter, sorry for the delay. And a reminder that I won't be posting for the whole month of November, I will be participating in NaNoWriMo. So I won't be able to post cause I will be constantly having to write that book. I will try to post more on here.

"Mummy!" Sadie yelled as she ran towards me and sat on the side of my bed

"Hi darling" I said as I tried to make a slight smile but even that was too painful

"What happened mum?"

"Mummy got hurt, I'm sorry sweetie" I said as she rested her head on my stomach, I gently moved her long blond curls away from her face

"When will you be home?" Sadie asked

"Not for a while, you will be staying with Auntie Grace" I said as I looked at her; her face filled with confusion

"Why won't I stay with Daddy?" Sadie asked

"Daddy?" I looked up at Grace; she didn't look up from the ground

"Grace what did you say about Daddy? Sadie why don't you go by Uncle Jerry; while me and Grace talk" I said, she nodded and slipped off the bed and ran out the door towards Jerry

"Grace what did you say about Jack?!" I yelled, my voice cracked and I felt weak

"I'm sorry Kim, I wasn't paying attention, she saw Jack and told me she saw him in a book; I thought it was her just playing, I turned my head for less than a second and when I looked back she was sitting next to Jack, he was crying and she was comforting Jack, she told me he was her Dad and that you and him were just having a argument, Kim; Sadie is older now you have to tell her something, and have you seen Jack? He looks horrible" Grace leaned by my bed and I felt hot tears trickling down my cheeks

"Should I take Jack back? I don't know what to do Grace" I said breaking down

"I think you should at least let him stay with you, Sadie needs a father, and Jack needs a place to stay"

"What do you mean?" I asked

"You have been out for a day or two, Jack has been sleeping on that chair for the past two nights, he doesn't have a home" I shut my eyes and cried

"Can you let Jack in?" I asked Grace through tears

"Yeah, but let me warn you; he's in really bad shape" Grace said as she looked at me for a second then walked out of the room, I waited for a couple minutes until I saw Jack walk through the door, Grace was right; I thought for sure he couldn't get any worse but he did, he had puffy blood shot eyes, dark bags under his eyes, and his eyes were swelling in tears

"Kim" was all he could say

"Jack I want to let you know that I will let you stay at my house, that doesn't mean that we are fine because believe me; we aren't, but first of all come here"

He walked toward the side of my bed and fought back tears with all of his might

"Give me your arm" I said, he looked at me and hesitated after a few seconds he put his arm on my stomach

I rolled up his sleeves to reveal fresh cuts that looked pretty new, there were some that looked like had been made not too long ago and some that looked almost a day or two old

"This" I said with tears falling down my face

"HAS to stop" I said as I pulled back down his sleeves

"I'm sorry I'm such a screw up…" Jack said as he put his face in his hands

"You're not Jack… I love you" I said as I grabbed his hand and held it tight, he looked up and squeezed my hand

"Promise me you won't let that happen again" I said as I looked up and smiled

"I promise" he said as he stood up and gently placed a kiss on my forehead and walked out of the room.

~the next day~

I walked towards the couch with Graces help and sat down, I had a tight bandage around my chest and a pink cast on my leg up to my knee

"You gonna be okay Kim?" Grace asked as she sat down next to me

"Yeah, you need to get back to Jerry and Lilly"

"Okay, but if you need me; call me" Grace said, she sat up and walked out the door, Jack walked out of Sadie's room and walked toward me

I looked up at Jack and saw he was tearing up; He wiped his eyes and sat next to me

"Where's Sadie?" I asked

"She's lying down" He said

I grabbed his arms and pulled up his sleeves, there was nothing new

"I kept my promise" He said as he looked up at me

"I'm going to go see Sadie" I said as I tried to stand up but Jack pushed me back down

"I got her"

"No just let me" I said as I tried to get up again but was pushed back down gently

"Kim please let me do this, I have already missed so much and you're in no shape to be taking care of a 5 year old" he said as he looked at me

"Well I've learned to cope these past few years" I said as I fought back Jack and walked into Sadie's room, I felt so mean doing this to Jack but I remember those nine months all by myself, and then having to raise a child and having a job on top of that

"Sadie sweet, wake up" I said with a strain in my voice, Jack was right; I was in no shape

I talked a little louder but she wasn't moving

"Sadie, Sadie!" I said as I gently shook her, I turned her on her back and noticed she wasn't breathing

"Jack!" I yelled

"Sadie's not breathing!" I yelled, he ran in and looked down at her, he picked her up and ran out the door and I slowly followed, once we were in his car I held her and called 911

"Hello!" I screamed into the phone

"What's your emergency?" They said

"My daughter was sleeping and I went to wake her up but she wasn't breathing!" I screamed through tears

"Is she allergic to anything" they asked

"Yeah, Dairy, put I didn't give her…" My voice trailed off

"Jack did you give her anything?!" I screamed

"…she said she was hungry so I gave her a granola bar, it had chocolate…" he said crying

"Jack!" I screamed

Jack stopped the car and grabbed Sadie and ran inside, I hobbled behind him

"Our daughter isn't breathing!" Jack yelled, I saw a couple nurses put Sadie on a bed and ran down the hall, Jack ran up to me and hugged me

"Kim I'm so sorry!" He cried and held me tight, I wanted to yell at him so much but I could tell he was so stressed; so was I but he already had so much guilt

"Its okay" I said as I hugged him tighter

"It's not your fault" I sat down in the waiting room, while I called Grace Jack went to the bathroom, once he was done he came and sat down me

"I broke the promise…" Jack said, I looked at his arm and noticed his arm was bandaged up and blood was lightly seeping through.

And for the person that asked if Kim will take back Jack, she is really not sure of what to do right now, because she knows that its right to take him back because Sadie really needs a Father and since Sadie knows that hes her Father it makes it harder for Kim, but also the fact that Kim has been hurt so much by Jack it really is tough for her. I hope that answered your question.
