When his alarm went off at half past three in the morning to Hunter it was the most obnoxious sound in the world because he would have really loved to have had a few more hours. Sliding out of bed he padded into the bathroom to get a nice hot shower in the hopes of waking him up enough that he didn't look like a walking zombie as he made his way through the airport.

A hot shower and a quick piece of toast later and he was off for the airport to catch his flight to get to the show on time.

It was just past nine o'clock when Stephanie woke up. Rolling over to look at the clock her eyes widened when she saw the time, it had been a really long time since she had slept that late into the morning. Now that she awake she felt the sadness creep into her heart at being apart from Mikey so she rolled out of bed and went to get a shower before she went to her parents to pick him up.

After a delay to the flight Hunter eventually landed at his destination at just after ten o'clock and he still had a couple of hours to drive to get to the arena. As soon as it was safe he turned his cell phone on and made his way through the airport to pick up his luggage and rental car to get to the arena on time.

Stood in line at the baggage carousel he was waiting for his bag to come around when he felt his cell phone vibrate so he pulled it out of his pocket in the hopes that it may have been Stephanie but his hope was shattered when he saw his sister's name on the screen. Opening his phone to see what she wanted he rolled his eyes when he read the text:

How did it go last night? I was expecting you to text me and tell me.

Seeing his suitcase coming around the corner he quickly grabbed it setting it on the floor by his feet as he answered her text:

It went well, really well. We both had a good time and we're going to do it again sometime.

Hoping that that would satisfy his sister's curiosity he put his phone back in his pocket before he picked up his suitcase again and made his way towards the rental cars. Stood in line and waiting for his rental car he felt his phone vibrate again and he knew this time it was most definitely going to be his sister so he just ignored it and would deal with it once he was safely in his rental car.

Twenty minutes later and finally his luggage was in the trunk of his rental car and he was in the driving seat. Quickly pulling his phone out of his pocket he looked at the text from his sister:

Glad to hear you had a good time. Don't leave it too long before you arrange the next date so she can't pull out. Did she tell you about Mikey?

Rolling his eyes a little he threw the phone onto the seat beside him before he started the engine and started the long journey to the arena.

Pulling up at her parents at just after eleven she couldn't wait to see Mikey again and get a big cuddle. Walking to the front door she rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer.

The second the doorbell rang Linda knew it was Stephanie so leaving Mikey and Vince to watch the movie in silence she made her way to the front door and pulled it open smiling when he saw their daughter stood in front of her, "hey. Do come in."

Smiling softly Stephanie hugged her Mom as she entered the house, "so how was he?"

"An angel, as always. He really was a good boy and you have no need to worry. Why don't you come into the kitchen with me and we can catch up whilst the boys finish the movie they're watching?"

Shrugging her shoulders she figured it would be better to get it over with whilst Mikey was otherwise occupied so he would have no idea about what was going on, "okay sure."

Following her Mom into the kitchen she took a seat at the kitchen table as her Mom boiled the kettle, "have you eaten this morning?"

Nodding her head Stephanie smiled softly, "yes thanks, I ate before I came out."

Turning her attention to the cupboards Linda pulled out two cups and put some coffee in the bottom of each of them whilst she waited for the kettle to boil. As soon as she had made the coffees she took them over to the table setting one down in front of Stephanie and one opposite her before she took a seat, "so how did it go?"

Smiling softly Stephanie nodded her head, "it went well thank you, we had a lovely evening."

"And?"

Laughing she didn't know what her Mom wanted to hear, "and he was a gentleman? What do you want me to say Mom?"

Shrugging her shoulders Linda wasn't sure but she knew that her daughter was keeping some details from her, "the truth? Will you see him again?"

It was Stephanie's turn to shrug this time, "I don't know, maybe? I guess it depends on whether he wants to see me again."

"Did he say he wanted to see you again? Did he say he had a good time?"

Stephanie nodded her head as the answer to both of those questions was yes, "well yes but it doesn't mean he will follow through with it."

Linda was genuinely happy to hear that the evening had gone well, "well I am glad, it's nice to see you looking happy again."

Wanting to change the subject to get it off her Stephanie jumped to something else, "what are the boys watching?"

Shrugging her shoulders Linda wasn't even sure, "I don't know actually, I zoned out as I was doing a bit of work on my campaign leaving the two of them to it."

Taking a sip of her coffee Stephanie then pushed her chair back and stood up, "I think I'm going to go and interrupt them, I missed Mikey."

Pushing her own chair back Linda stood up before she grabbed both cups of coffee, "well you know where to find them both. I will bring this in for you."

Smiling softly Stephanie happily made her way towards the lounge pushing the door open a little wider as she walked inside, "hello you two."

Squealing with excitement at the sound of his Mom's voice Mikey practically flew off of the couch and into her arms, "Mommy!"

Hugging her son tightly she picked him up, "I missed you."

Flinging his arms around her neck he held on tightly, "missed you too."

Moving to take a seat on the couch by her Dad she sat down still holding on tightly to Mikey, "hi Dad."

Vince smiled at his daughter, "hey. Did you have a good night?"

Lifting his head Mikey looked up at his Mom hopefully, "yeah Mommy."

Chuckling softly she nodded her head, "yes I did thank you, it was a lot of fun."

Burying his head into his Mom's neck he mumbled 'good' as he relaxed in her arms.

As he looked into his daughter's eyes Vince saw a flicker of many emotions and wondered what was going on. After her saying she had had a lot of fun he expected to just see happiness but there were many other emotions there also but it was not the time or the place to question her to make sure she wasn't lying to them.
