After Raw Trish kept to her word and watched over Mikey until the end of the show before she helped her back to the hotel with him.
Smackdown was relatively painless for Stephanie, Hunter left her alone and things at the arena went well and there were no big dramas. Flying home right after Smackdown she managed to get a small nap in on the plane before she got a couple of hours in when she eventually got home.
Hunter went home right after Smackdown and the first thing on his agenda for his days off was a breakfast meeting with his sister to discuss options on where to go next with Stephanie.
Walking to his sister's front door Hunter knocked on it gently leaning against the door frame and yawning whilst he waited for her to answer. When she pulled open the door he walked past and immediately went into the kitchen looking for a coffee. Once he had his coffee he sat down at the kitchen table, "so how are you?"
Sitting down across from her brother she motioned to the food on the table, "help yourself. I'm okay though, how are you and how did things go with Stephanie? You didn't sound too good when you texted yesterday asking to meet for breakfast today."
Grumbling he started to pile his plate high, "the date was really good, I thought everything was going to be okay and then she completely ignored me. I texted her a couple of times and got no replies and I tried speaking to her once but I may aswell have tried talking to myself because she wasn't interested in listening at all. What do I do Lynn?"
Buttering some toast she had a feeling that something like this would happen, "you need to just keep trying to get through to her, don't give up on her."
"Don't give up on her? What if I really want to give up on her?"
Laughing she knew he wasn't serious, "if I thought you were serious I would give you some decent advice in response but I know you're not serious so just don't give up on her. Try calling her, if she's not responding to texts then you're only other option is to call her or turn up on her doorstep but with Mikey I'd definitely go with calling."
Looking at his watch and seeing it was not even half past eight yet, "so is now too early?"
Raising her eyebrow at her brother she nodded her head, "way too early. Wait until mid-morning as things will be hard for her getting home with Mikey and transitioning back into home life."
Grumbling he hated having to wait when he was so focussed on getting what he wanted, "great. What do I do if she doesn't answer my calls?"
"Then you find another way to get through to her or you talk to somebody to try and get some answers as to why she is ignoring you."
Hearing his sister say he would have to talk to somebody else if she didn't answer his calls he had a really good idea on who he could talk to, he just hoped that they would talk to him.
A couple of hours later and finally Hunter was home all by himself and sitting on the couch staring at his cell phone. He wanted to call her but when it came down to it he found it hard to put himself out there again incase she rejected him again. Reluctantly he called her and put the phone to his ear waiting and listening as it rang out.
Sat at her office desk staring at her laptop she was trying to motivate herself to finish this e-mail to go out company wide but all she could think about was Hunter. It was almost as if he could read her thoughts as all of a sudden her cell phone lit up and started dancing on the desk and when she saw it was Hunter she didn't know what to do with herself. Putting the phone behind her laptop so she couldn't see it she turned her full attention to her laptop, that was all of the motivation she needed to do her work.
Listening as the phone just rang and rang it eventually went to voice mail which meant that she hadn't rejected his call, it just meant that she hadn't gotten to it in time which gave him hope. If she had straight out rejected his call then she would definitely be avoiding him but she didn't so he only hoped that she was busy with Mikey and so he would try her again in fifteen minutes or so.
Satisfied when her phone stopped ringing she waited for the beep to tell her that she had a voice mail but when she didn't get one she couldn't help but be a little relieved to know that she didn't have to hear his voice.
Fifteen minutes later and Stephanie was just about to take a break from her work and go and spend some time with Mikey when her phone rang again. Picking the offending object up as she got up from her seat and exited the room she looked down at it and frowned when she saw Hunter's name again but this time she straight out rejected his call.
The abrupt forwarding to voice mail was not what Hunter wanted or expected to happen when he called Stephanie again. He wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but after her behaviour at Raw and her not replying to any of his texts he was starting to believe that it was far more serious than he anticipated. Getting up from his seat on the couch he slid his phone into his back pocket before he went upstairs and grabbed his gym bag to get a work out in.
Entering the play room that was right next to her office Stephanie smiled at Mikey as he lay on the floor staring at the ceiling, "are you awake or asleep?"
Rolling over onto his stomach he scrambled to his feet, "Mommy! I was p'aying dead, Bubbles killed me."
Chuckling lowly she shook her head at his active imagination, "well if you want to keep playing dead you can but Mommy was going to get herself a drink and she wondered if you wanted one?"
Nodding his head Mikey ran for the door, "milk."
Following her son out of the door she headed for the kitchen to get him a glass of milk and herself a nice strong cup of coffee before she had to go back to work if she planned on taking the afternoon off to spend with her son. After she had a short break she went back to work whilst Mikey went back to playing.
Hunter had a really hard workout at the gym relieving some tension from his body before he headed home to get some lunch and to attempt to call Stephanie again. When he got home the first thing he did was attempt to call her.
Completely focussed on her work Stephanie jumped when her cell phone started to ring as it startled her. Looking down at the display screen she rolled her eyes when she saw Hunter's name and immediately rejected the call, "can't you take a hint?"
The more he rang it appeared the faster that he was getting his call rejected by her which was not a good sign. Deciding to give up on Stephanie for the minute he had to talk to somebody else to try and get answers from them as he apparently wasn't going to get them from Stephanie. Scrolling up his contacts list he called the person that was probably closest to her but before the phone even started to ring it immediately went to voice mail indicating that the phone was off so this time he would leave a message after the beep, "hi Linda it's Hunter. I'm really sorry to bother you but I wondered if you had a minute to spare please?"
Ending the call he tossed his cell phone down on the couch before he went to get some lunch and to wait for a call back.
