Arriving at her parent's house she used her keys to let herself in incase her Mom had already left to go back to work but as she pushed the door open she came face to face with her Mom and jumped, "Jesus Mom, were you trying to scare me?"

Linda was shocked when the door open and was clutching her chest, "I could say the same Steph. I was just about to leave to go back to work when you walked in and I was not expecting it."

Smiling sheepishly she shrugged, "sorry, I thought you would have left as I know I'm a little late so I didn't want to bother Dad by ringing the doorbell so thought I'd let myself in so I'm sorry that I scared you."

"It's no bother really. How was the date?"

Frowning Stephanie shook her head, "I thought I promised to tell you about it this weekend."

Laughing Linda nodded her head, "you did but it doesn't mean I can't ask how it went before I have to leave."

Deciding to tease her Mom a little she simply said, "we kissed."

Hugging her Mom she quickly walked past her to go and find her son and her Dad leaving her Mom no chance to ask any questions.

Watching as her daughter walked past her Linda smiled at the bounce that was in her step, she hadn't seen her this happy in a really long time. Turning around she walked out of the door pleased that Hunter was treating her so well that she was that this happy.

Reaching her car she climbed into the drivers seat starting the engine. She was about to pull off when she had an idea and pulled out her cell phone to send a quick text:

Thank you for what you are doing for Stephanie and how you are treating her, I haven't seen her this happy in a long time. Linda

Sending the text she set off back to work on her campaign, she knew she shouldn't stick her nose into their business but she couldn't help herself as seeing her daughter this happy meant the world to her.

Hunter was close to home when he heard his cell phone beeped and it made him a little nervous as it was so quick after his date with Stephanie had ended and he immediately thought the worst. Pulling into his driveway he immediately went for his phone and frowned when he saw Linda's name, this surely wasn't going to be good. Opening the text he was surprised to see what she actually had to say but it made him feel good to hear that someone slightly more independent than him thought that Stephanie was happy:

Good, I'm glad you think that she is happy because that is my main aim. I'm going to do right by her this time. Hunter

Sending the text he then got out of the car and headed inside to finish packing because he was due in New York later this evening and he had a lot to do between now and then.

Entering the lounge Stephanie fully expected to see her Dad and Mikey sat on the couch together but when she didn't see them there she made her way into the playroom and smiled when she saw her Dad sat with Mikey on the floor doing a puzzle, "should you be sat down there Dad?"

Looking up at his daughter he shook his head before he turned to Mikey and playfully rolled his eyes, "your Mom fusses far too much. Tell her I'm a big boy."

Giggling Mikey looked up at his Mom, "Poppy big boy Mommy."

Laughing she walked over to the pair of them and kissed her son on the top of the head before she sat down on the floor and leant across to kiss her Dad on the cheek, "you know I only fuss because I care right?"

Nodding his head he turned and put his arm around his daughter's shoulder, "I know and I do appreciate it but I'm doing a lot better now and it's not like I'm doing anything strenuous down here or anything. I do suppose this depends on whether you think puzzling is a strenuous activity though."

Leaning into her Dad she rested her head on his shoulder, "stop teasing me Dad."

"I would love to but I can't resist so you'll just have to deal with it. How was your lunch?"

Shrugging her shoulders she played it off like it was nothing, "oh you know, it was lunch."

Looking at his daughter with a raised eyebrow he shook his head, "you and I both know it was more than lunch."

Pouting she didn't want to talk about this in front of her son, "not here okay? Ask Mom later and she can fill you in on the little I told her."

"I don't want small details, I want big details to know if I need to start working on his pink slip."

Mikey had been sat there quietly whilst his Mom talked to his Grandpa but when he heard something about a pink slip he wondered what it was, "what's a pink s'ip?"

Glaring at her Dad she shook her head before she turned to her head, "ignore your Grandpa, he's talking silly."

Playfully poking his tongue out at his daughter he turned to look at his Grandson, "a pink slip is what you give somebody when you fire them from their job."

Mikey giggled, "uh oh, Poppy'd be mad."

Vince nodded his head, "exactly Mikey. Poppy would have to be really mad to fire someone but anyone who doesn't treat his family right would deserve it. You should tell your Mommy to give me lots of details so I don't get mad and fire them anyway."

"Dad!"

Smiling innocently Vince looked around the room, "me? What did I do?"

Shaking her head Stephanie was far from impressed, "don't use my son to get the details you want. Maybe now we won't come over this weekend so you can get all of the details from Mom."

Mikey shook his head, "no we's come, we's come."

Smiling at his Grandson Vince nodded his head, "what he said."

Sighing softly she was backed into a corner, "just promise to be good, both of you."

Jumping up from his seat Mikey moved to sit in his Grandpa's lap, "we's be good won't we Poppy?"

Vince nodded his head, "we will because we're always good. Do you promise to come round this weekend so I can find out what's going on please? I hate being kept in the dark about this because of who it involves so please put me out of my misery."

Sighing softly she nodded her head, "I promise. You don't need to worry though, he's being really good to me and treating me like a Princess."

Raising his eyebrow Vince looked at his daughter oddly, "Princess huh? He really has changed."

Smiling brightly he had and she was so proud of him, "he has, he really has Dad. You will be so surprised when you go back to the arenas."

Putting in the last of his puzzle pieces Mikey squealed with delight, "yay. When's you be at 'renas Poppy?"

Shrugging his shoulders he wished he knew, he missed work and wanted to go back, "I don't know. I was thinking about asking my Doctor if I can come to Raw next week because it's only an hour away but your Mommy will be in charge as I've not been cleared to work."

Widening his eyes with excitement Mikey liked the sound of that, "oooh yay. You's gots to Poppy. You can see Hunner and we cans play in da ring and I's shows you 'round."

Chuckling Vince thought he was absolutely adorable, "sounds like a plan to me. Maybe I should take you with me to the Doctors so you can convince him that it's a good idea and beneficial for my health."

Laughing Stephanie shook her head, "not happening Dad. If your Doctor says it's okay on his terms then I'm okay with it as long as you promise that you will not lift a finger."

Motioning to Mikey he shook his head, "you think I'll have time to lift a finger with all of the plans Mikey has already made?"

"That is a good point. Talking of Mikey though, we should get out of your hair but I promise that we will come back at the weekend."

Carefully standing up Vince nodded his head, "I will hold you to it so you had better."

Hugging her Dad she smiled softly, "I will, I will. Just relax and take care of yourself. Say goodbye to your Grandpa Mikey."

Throwing his arms around Vince Mikey hugged him tightly, "bye Poppy."

Bending down he kissed the little boy on the top of her head, "bye Mikey, be a good boy for your Mom."

Nodding his head Mikey ran off to get his little bag that he had brought with him before they left and headed home.
