Happy new year to all of you! I hope none of you got hurt, and that you didn't loose any limbs, fingers, toes, and so on...
So, a new and exciting year has now begun, and a lot of amazing things are hopefully ahead of us, at least there is for me,
but lets quit talking for now...
I don't own X-men...
"Here you go girl, some proper sleep wear. I hope you're fine with long-sleeved fuzzy sweaters…"
"Sure, I don't mind."
I had just come out of the nicely warm shower, with a towel around my belly and breasts, when Tinka stood right there at the door with the clothe ready. I gladly accepted it, and went inside again to change. It was, as she said, a fuzzy light blue shirt, which was a little too big when I tried it on. The sleeves went all the way bellow my fingertips, but that was all fine, I liked to sleep in oversized clothes anyway, as long as it wasn't the pants that was oversized, cause that would just be embarrassing. I got it on, combed my hair, brushed my teeth, and was ready to bed. I opened the bathroom door, and this time it wasn't Tinka who stood there, but Kurt. He had waited for me to finish showering; I knew that, because he stood with a towel in his right hand. He was shirtless, but I was used to see him without a shirt, so I didn't mind. He stood there with a way to big smile on his face, as he leaned up against the wall.
"Why are you looking at me like that elf?"
"Oh not for anything my dear Kätzchen, I am simply waiting for you to leave the bathroom."
"And how is your shoulder?" I asked all serious. His smile faded a little.
"It could be better, but it could be worse too." He simply replied, as he walked closer to me.
"You know, you look very pretty after a shower. Your hair is so fine and curly." He let his hand on my chin, and let some lose hair behind my ear.
"So you like my hair curly? I sure hate it." I looked down a bit, trying to escape his eyes, but I failed, and before I knew it, I was looking deeply into his big, glowing yellow eyes once again.
"How can you hate something so beautiful? You shouldn't think bad about yourself Ms. Pryde, I think you're the most beautiful kitten in the world, both on the inside and on the outside. At least you are to me."
"How nice of you to say that Mr. Wagner. You too are one of a kind, and surely a number one for me." We went closer to each other. "Do you know you have the most amazing and exotic eyes I have ever seen?"
We then went even closer, and kept speaking politely, until we stood nose to nose. It was nice, and I myself could stand like that for a long time, but then we got interrupted by another person speaking.
"Not to interrupt or anything, but could you two just finish flirting already? I do want a shower too you know."
I turned around, and right there in the little hall stood Tatianna, a girl I never thought I would ever see again. She was looking annoyed, or maybe mad. I suppose I couldn't blame her.
"Is it really you? But how, you and everyone else were all gone when we came up above the waterline…"
"I do have some tricks of my own Katherine, it's not just you."
"Then can you at least tell us how you got here?"
"Maybe later okay, I really want a shower before midnight you see."
"Sure, I guess. And elf, are you sure it's a good idea to shower?"
"Yes, I got my permission. You worry too much Keety, and this isn't the time for it"
"Then do you need any help?"
"Nein, I'm fine, but I do need some help with the bandage afterwards."
"Sure, I'll be in our room, ready to help then." We shared a smile before separating. I went to our temporary room, and Tati followed. It was a sweet little room with a beautiful green color, not to dark but not to light either, just a perfect green nuance. I sat down and open the med kit Tinka had left on my bed. Tati too sat down.
"So, you two seem closer than ever. Something I missed?"
"Well, we made this pact you see, I guess it just made us think about what we have, instead of what we don't have."
"And what was your pact about?"
"Staying with each other forever, like a brother and sister would, and never let anything bad happen to the other one." Tati looked away, apparently hurt, and then I realized why.
"I'm so sorry about your brother, I really am. And most of all, I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect him."
"It's alright Kitty, he's still alive, I know he is. I can feel it."
"What do you mean? I saw him get shot! No way he's still alive. You're just sad and won't accept that he's gone. Trust me, I have been there myself."
"No you're right, I don't wanna accept it, as I know he's still out there. He is alive."
"But how do you know?"
"The same way I knew you and blue boy was here, I can feel it in my bones, in every part of me, and he's yelling for help, my help, but he feels so far away. I don't think he's in danger, but he's suffering."
"Do you think he's back there in France?"
"No, I know he isn't. He's somewhere here in America."
"But why should he be that? Isn't that a little stupid? Henrik, or whoever he is, had his headquarter there, remember?"
"Yes, I do remember, but then he doesn't have it there anymore. I can't really tell where he is exactly, but I do know we don't have to cross the ocean to get there."
"I'm sorry, but I don't want to get into this mess again, I only want to get to Miami, find my family members, and maybe get to live a normal life again."
"Well don't think you ever would get a normal life again, because you want. Trust me; we have to find my little brother, before it's too late!" She stood up, and headed for that one window in the room. Then, a new voice came into the picture.
"Both of you can forget anything about leaving for at least a month or two. It's freezing cold outside, and I just heard in the news, that you are advised to stay indoors, since there's a huge snowstorm on the way."
It was Tinka standing in the doorframe with hot cocoa on a wooden plate. She placed it on the night table close to Kurt's bed, which wasn't too far from my own.
"But we can't just sit and do nothing, we have to something!" Tati yelled annoyed.
"I know you're worried, but we can't do anything about the weather. As soon as it gets a little warmer, you can leave, but until then, you have to stay. You aren't in a good stage of fighting yet either way, you're still too weak, all of you are."
"Could we at least have a place to train, then we could get our strength back in no time." I asked.
"Well, we do have a big garden, I guess I could set something up, but as I said, it's too cold outside right now, it would have to wait till March at least. It's January now, so in about two months."
"But what are we suppose to do until then?" This time it was Kurt speaking. He had just entered the room. I made him sit down, and started to bandage his shoulder.
"You should all rest. Rest is as important as training. Is it really that hard to just lie down and relax? I will help you as much as I can against this, as a mutant, this is partly my fight too, but right now, I have my own problems. I'm just happy this house isn't burned down to the ground yet… Do any of you have any experience in using weapons?" We looked at each other, before answering.
"Well, I'm a bit experienced with a pocket knife if that counts, but we don't have to kill anybody, do we?" I asked.
"I don't hope so, but if you want to survive in this place, then we have to be prepared for anything. What about you Tatianna, do you have anything? I myself am good with a rope. I'm able to tie people up, throw a lasso and so on. "
"Well, I guess I'm alright with bow and arrow, it's something my dad taught me how to use."
"Good, now you Kurt, what are you good at?"
"I don't know, nothing I guess. Aw Keety, careful!"
"Just stop whining, I'm almost done." He then stopped complaining, instead he started making faces.
"Hmm… Grandpa has these not too sharp swords locked away with the other weapons, if just I could convince him to lend you one of them… Would that be okay with you?"
"Ja, that sounds good."
"Right then a sword it will be. Now Kitty, I'm not sure a pocket knife would be enough for you. Do you know how to use a gun?"
"No, I don't. Why, do you want me to?"
"Yes, but don't worry, grandpa can teach you as soon as the weather gets better. Of cause we don't wanna kill anybody, so we'll use darts filled with tranquilizer instead of gunpowder. Now please tell me, how old are you guys, I never really asked about that."
"Well, I myself am twelve, Kurt there is thirteen, and Tati is close to twelve too." I answered.
"Good to know. I'm eleven, so I guess I'm the youngest. Now let's just drink the cocoa and enjoy ourselves, because I fear that it won't stay calm for long, it never does… "
We all took a cup from the wooden plate, and while we were drinking it, we talked about all kind of stuff.
One of the things we ended up talking about was New Years Eve, and how we hadn't celebrated it the last couple of years. Actually, we hadn't really celebrated anything else than birthdays and Christmas. We didn't even see any fireworks, and that didn't really bother me, as I really didn't like to be outside at that time.
The last thing we talked about before dividing to go to bed was what kind of fruit we would be if we ever would get magically transformed into one. I chose a mango, Kurt a apricot, Tati took an pineapple, and Tinka a papaya. When the two girls had left the room, me and Kurt continued talking for about an hour. We were sitting on his bed with the quilted blanket over our legs, and with our backs against the wall. I can't remember what we talked about, but I do remember falling asleep beside him. I remember a very fuzzy night, but that was probably caused my fuzzy sweater. I slept like a log all night, nothing was able to disturb my sleep and to be honest, I don't think I would have been sleeping that well if I felt asleep in my own bed that night. It was just way cozier beside him, cozy and safe…
