After spending a while with Mikey in the ring Hunter knew he had to go and do stuff for the show so needed to leave, "I need to get going now but I had a lot of fun."
Mikey pouted, "nooooo, no leave."
Shaking his head Vince wasn't about to let his Grandson emotionally blackmail Hunter, "Mikey you know that Hunter has work to do so if he says he has to leave then you have to respect that. We should get going too before your Mom starts to wonder where we disappeared to."
Hunter hated seeing the sad look on Mikey's face so he wanted to cheer him up a little, "how about I walk the two of you back to your Mom's office? Would that be better for you Mikey?"
Jumping up and down on the spot whilst clapping his hands that was exactly what Mikey wanted, "yays. Pick up?"
Laughing softly Hunter opened the ropes with his foot, "you can have a pick up but only if you do as your Poppy tells you."
Quickly climbing out of the ring Mikey stood on the apron waiting until Hunter was on the floor, "I's be on top of da world?"
Nodding his head Hunter helped Mikey sit on the apron before he got on his knees in front of him and turned so his back was to him and then shuffled back until Mikey's legs were over his shoulders and then he carefully stood up keeping a tight grip on him, "ready Vince?"
Vince laughed at the way Mikey was looking around the arena from his new height, "I'm ready."
The three of them were walking back through the arena to Stephanie's office when they spotted her turning the corner in front of them and Mikey screamed, "Mommy!"
Jumping at the sound of her son screaming her name she spun around to see what was going on and shook her head when she saw Hunter carrying him on his shoulders, "you spoil him."
Refraining from shrugging his shoulders he didn't see what the problem was, "I don't think so, it was only a short walk from the ring back here and it's not like it is going to happen again today. If you'd prefer I didn't do it though I won't."
Shaking her head she wasn't mad as such, "no it's okay, just don't make a habit of it."
Carefully setting Mikey back on the floor he nodded his head, "I promise."
She wanted to hug him and just be held in his arms briefly again but she knew she couldn't so she held her hand out to Mikey, "come on you. Let's go and leave Hunter to go and do whatever it is that he wants or needs to do. Say thank you to Hunter for taking you down to the ring though."
Running over to his Mom he took her hand before he turned back to Hunter, "fank you for da ride and for da ring."
Smiling softly he shrugged, "it was my pleasure. Be a good boy for your Mommy and I'll see you later."
She could only watch as Hunter walked away from them and she wished she could run after him and make him stay for a bit. Running her free hand through her hair she sighed, "come on you two, let's get you out of trouble."
Vince watched his daughter and he wondered exactly how truthful she was being to herself about her feelings for Hunter because he could clearly see the conflict in her when she was around him. Walking side by side with his daughter as they walked the short distance back to her office he wondered how long it would take for her to be honest with herself about him.
Entering her office again Stephanie let go of Mikey's hand and went back to sit at her desk to continue with her work.
After a lot of trouble Mikey was now sound asleep on the couch whilst her Dad was off watching some of the show from the guerilla under the one condition that he didn't lift a finger and Stephanie was just sat in her office all alone wishing she had some work that she could do because she was bored but she was all up to date on it for the minute until the show was nearly over and she had to supervise that.
Hunter's match was on quite early in the show so after his shower he was at a bit of a loose end so having seen Vince sat at the guerilla he decided to take his chances and go and visit Stephanie. Making his way out of the locker room he made sure that nobody was paying attention to where he went or was following him as he walked towards her office. Arriving outside of her office he knocked gently on the door.
Hearing a knock at the door Stephanie jumped not expecting anyone to come and visit. Getting up from her seat she walked over to the door and pulled it open surprised to see Hunter stood in front of her, "what are you doing here?"
Taking a quick look around and seeing that people were in the area he decided to keep it work related until she let him in, "I wanted to talk about my title shot or lack of."
Raising her eyebrow she was confused by why he wanted to talk about it, "uh . . . okay? I guess you should come in but you'll have to be quiet as Mikey is asleep."
Stepping aside she opened the door wider for him watching as he walked inside before she shut the door behind him turning around and leaning on the door as she looked at him, "so why do you want to talk about your title shot?"
Perching himself on the edge of the desk he shrugged, "I don't, I just thought it would be a good cover for me to see you."
Raising her eyebrow she couldn't help but blush a little, "you wanted to see me?"
Nodding his head he looked over to make sure Mikey was still sleeping before he got up and walked over to her gently pulling her away from door and against his chest, "yes I did, do you not want to see me?"
Chuckling she shook her head, "of course I want to see you, "why wouldn't I want to see my boyfriend?"
"If you're bored of me?"
Rolling her eyes she slapped his chest gently, "shut up will you?"
Smiling playfully he slipped his arms around her waist, "I will think about it. So when can I see you this week?"
Biting down on her lip she looked down at the floor because she wasn't going to have time to see him, "you won't."
His eyes widened and he pulled away from her thinking she was about to break up with him, "what? Why? Was it something I said or did?"
Shaking her head she reached for his hands and took hold of them, "it's not you, it's me. I realise that sounds like I am breaking up with you but I don't mean it like that, I just mean I don't have the time or the babysitter. My Mom is really busy all week with her campaign and on Friday I do have someone watching Mikey all day but that is only because I have meetings all day long and will be lucky if I even get a lunch break. I hate it and would like to go on a date with you this week but sadly I just can't fit it into my schedule."
Nodding his head he respected that she was honest and he understood, "I guess that is okay, I mean there is nothing that you can do to change it so there's no point being angry about it."
Smiling softly she was so relieved that he seemingly wasn't angry about it, "do you promise you're not mad?"
"I promise I am not mad, it's not worth getting angry about."
Wrapping her arms around his neck she hugged him, "thank you. I promise I will make it up to you."
Raising his eyebrow he liked the sound of that, "you will huh? I like the sound of that a lot."
Laughing she quickly slapped her hand over her mouth to shut herself up before she woke Mikey, "I thought you might. I am not sure how I will make it up to you yet but I promise I will."
Wrapping his one arm around her waist he lifted his other hand to rub her cheek gently with his finger, "there's no hurry. You can start making it up to me right now if you want with a kiss or two."
Standing on her tiptoes she pressed a soft kiss to his lips, "like that?"
Nodding his head that was okay with him if it was all she was comfortable with, "whatever you're comfortable with."
Kissing him again she made this one a little longer and a little deeper before she pulled away, "okay that's your lot for tonight, I don't want to push my luck and for Mikey to wake up and to catch us."
Stroking the bottom of her back with his fingers he smiled, "that's okay, I totally understand so thank you for those kisses."
Leaning against him she sighed softly, if this was the only time she got to do this this week then she was going to make the most of it whilst she had the opportunity.
