Having given Mikey his dinner Hunter waited until he had finished before he sat him down in front of the television for the first time this afternoon and put some cartoons on before he went to do the dishes drying and putting them all away where he found them. Only when the kitchen was nice and clean and tidy apart from the cookies on the counter he then went and joined Mikey on the couch to wait for Stephanie to return home.

Pulling up outside of the house Stephanie knew the first thing she was going to have to do when she got in was start on dinner for Mikey, she just hoped he had been good for Hunter. Getting out of the car she walked to the front door unlocking it and stepping inside dropping her bag by the stairs and shrugging her jacket off as she followed the sound of the television into the lounge, "hello boys."

Jumping off the couch Mikey ran around the couch and straight into his Mom's arms, "Mommy!"

Hugging her son she kissed the top of his head, "hello you. Were you a good boy for Hunter?"

Nodding his head Mikey was excited to tell his Mom about what they did, "yups and we made cookies and we played."

Laughing she kissed the top of his head, "that's good. I'd better go and start on your dinner."

Hunter shook his head, "you don't need to, I already gave him dinner and did the dishes but yours is in the cooker to stay warm."

Standing up she looked at her boyfriend shocked, "you cooked dinner? You really didn't have to Hunter."

Shrugging his shoulders he was only trying to help, "it was nothing big, it was just some baked pasta and I figured it would be one less job for you to do when you got home. As for the cookies we baked earlier, I make no promises that they're edible, I refused to try one myself or let Mikey try one."

Laughing she took Mikey's hand, "well as a special treat why don't you try one before bed Mikey? After you've had the cookie though you'll have to go in the bath and get into bed though as it is getting late and close to your bedtime."

Taking that as his cue to leave he stood up from the couch, "well now you're home I will get out of your hair so the two of you can spend some time together."

Stephanie didn't want him to leave, after spending the afternoon looking after thei . . . her son and having brought her lunch without her even asking him to she felt like he deserved a thank you that she couldn't give in front of her son, "you don't have to leave just yet if you don't want to. I won't force you to stay if you don't want to but . . ."

Smiling softly he nodded his head in acknowledgement of what she had said, "I would love to stay for a little bit if you don't mind."

Shaking her head she would actively encourage him to if she didn't want to say anything in front of Mikey, "I don't mind at all. Why don't you come and join us in the kitchen to see how these cookies of yours taste."

Playfully groaning he acted unsure, "I don't know, I mean if they kill you I don't want to be held responsible."

Laughing she reached out to him, "just be quiet and come with us."

Smiling softly he stepped closer to her and carefully took her hand as Mikey pulled her towards the kitchen.

Upon entering the kitchen Stephanie dropped everybody's hands and took three cookies from the top and handed one to Mikey, one to Hunter and kept one for herself, "come on you two, eat up."

Playfully inspecting it he eventually put the cookie to his lips and took a small bite shocked when it tasted okay, "well it actually tastes alright and I'm still alive so maybe they're not poisonousness."

Laughing Stephanie took a bite of her own surprised by how nice they were, "wow, these are really good. Where did you get the recipe?"

"My Mom, I rang her to see if she had one as Mikey wanted to bake cookies and this is what she gave me so I'm glad you like them."

Smiling she nodded her head looking down at Mikey who was happily nibbling away on his cookie before she looked back at Hunter, "so have you had dinner?"

Shaking his head he hadn't, "no, I was just going to grab something to eat when I went home."

"You can share my dinner, I don't mind."

Smiling softly he had to resist the urge to kiss here, "thank you."

As soon as Mikey had finished his cookie Stephanie motioned to the kitchen door, "come on you. Say thank you and goodnight to Hunter and let's get you in the bath and then into the bed."

Hugging Hunter Mikey was sad that he had to go to bed, "fank 'oo Hunner. Nuh-night."

Kissing the top of the little boy's head he hugged him back, "you're welcome Mikey, I had a lot of fun so maybe if your Mom is ever stuck we can do it again. Sleep well and I will see you on Monday."

Nodding his head Mikey reluctantly pulled away from Hunter before he turned to his Mom, "weddy Mommy."

Smiling softly she ushered him towards the stairs stopping briefly to look back at Hunter, "make yourself comfortable, I'll probably be at least half an hour."

"Sure, take your time. I'll make you a drink of your choice and will eventually start to heat up dinner so just take your time as I'm not going anywhere."

Running the bath for Mikey she sat on the edge pouring in some bubbles whilst he sat on the floor patiently waiting for his bath. Looking at her son Stephanie had to ask him a question, "so how was your afternoon with Hunter?"

Mikey smiled brightly at his Mom at the mention of his afternoon, "lotsa fun. Hunner lets me do what I wanted to do and he pays me lots of 'tention and he was nice."

Smiling softly at her son she did wonder if it was a novelty to him, "would you get bored if it happened again?"

Violently shaking his head as his Mom turned the taps off, "no Mommy, I likes him and I likes being wiv him. I miss him when we no go to 'renas."

Sighing softly at that admission she stood up, "I see. Come on you, you need to get in the bath and we need to get you into bed and Mommy needs some time to herself."

Getting undressed with the encouragement of his Mom Mikey eventually got into the bath and started to play whilst Stephanie sat on the lid of the toilet thinking about what he had said about his day and about missing Hunter when they didn't go to the arenas anymore. Her life and relationship with Hunter was slowly getting more complicated and she was starting to question things in her mind mainly whether Hunter was truly serious about this and about her because if he wasn't then Mikey would be devastated when they split up even though he didn't know they were currently together.
