Stephanie spent a good ten minutes under the hot spray of the shower trying to make herself feel more alive before she turned it off and climbed out wrapping one towel around her body and another around her hair before she left her en-suite to go and get dressed. As she walked past the door she heard someone knock gently but figuring her Mom was making sure she didn't do anything stupid in the shower she ignored it.

Reaching the room that Linda had directed him to Hunter knocked gently on the closed door hoping he got a warmer reception from Stephanie than he had her Mom. Not receiving a reply to the first knock of the door Hunter knocked again this time a little louder.

Groaning when there was another knock at the door relatively quickly after the first one she sighed and went over to it swinging it open before she walked back to her drawers, "as you can tell I am fine."

Surprised when she swung the door open and didn't seem to pay any attention to the fact that he was stood on the other side he took a few steps inside the room taking a moment to admire the view of her in just a towel, "I never said you were anything but fine."

Spinning around at the sound of the voice she held onto the top of the towel keeping it closed, "Jesus Christ, I need to get some sleep as I am hallucinating."

Leaning against the wall he watched her with some amusement as she clutched her head, "what or who are you seeing?"

Certain that she was actually going crazy now she took a seat on the edge of the bed and leant her arms on her legs, "this house is haunted by a ghost of my freaking ex-husband, what are the chances of that?"

Walking over to to the bed he dropped the letters onto the bed beside her before he knelt down in front of her and put his hands on hers, "how many ex-husband's do you have exactly?"

Lifting her head slowly she opened her eyes not sure whether to be happy or sad that he was apparently knelt in front of her, "just the one, he was an asshole. What are you doing here? If you're here to shout at me can you just leave already please? I don't have the energy to deal with it and I don't want Mikey to hear it."

Letting the comment about him being an asshole slide he didn't understand why everybody thought he was here to shout at her, "I'm not here to shout at you, I came here to talk to you like an adult."

"Well I'm exhausted and I don't have the energy to argue even if there is no shouting involved."

Sighing he hooked his finger under her chin and lifted her head a little higher so he could look at her face and hopefully into her eyes so she could see he was being sincere, "and if I don't want to argue even without shouting? Steph, I only came here to ask a couple of questions."

Looking over his head because she knew if she looked into his eyes she would cry, "you can ask, I'll try and answer them."

Squeezing her hands gently he wanted her to look at him, "please look at me and not past me." Watching as she reluctantly turned her gaze to his face he could see in her eyes how much she was struggling to deal with this, "I believe you and I believe the letters but I need to hear the words come out of your mouth, is this all real? Is Mikey really my son?"

Nodding her head slowly she couldn't help the remark that past her lips, "you can have a DNA test if you don't believe me."

Noticing that she immediately looked away from him again he had a feeling he knew what was going on right now, "maybe I don't want one, maybe I believe you."

Hearing him say that he believed her her head snapped around so fast to look at him she felt a twinge in her neck and her hand immediately went to rub it, "you what?"

Lifting his hand to gently rub her neck also he smiled softly, "I believe you, there is no way you are calculating enough to write all of these letters detailing everything if it wasn't true."

"Do you want custody now or something?"

That question had come out of left field for him, it hadn't even entered his mind, "uh . . . no? I was kind of hoping that as we are a couple anyway we could like co-parent or whatever the correct term is."

Her eyes widened as she looked at him, "we're what? You don't want to split up?"

"No, why would I? Is this what you were afraid of last night? You thought once I found out the truth about Mikey that I'd dump you and run off into the sunset by myself?"

Shrugging her shoulders that was pretty much it, "in a nutshell yes."

Not sure if it was going to be a good thing or a bad thing that he was about to say he moved his hand to stroke her cheek gently, "I'm not sure if I should say sorry for disappointing you or not but I don't want to. What I told you last night is true, I love you and this doesn't really change anything for me, it just means the boy I was planning to treat like my son is my son but I understand if you want to pull away now or something."

Shaking her head she practically threw herself into his arms wrapped her arms tightly around his neck and squeezing him for dear life burying her face in his neck, "no, God no. Hunter I love you so much and the thought of losing you all over again killed me which is why I didn't sleep last night."

Her words were muffled but he understood her, "so I can still be your boyfriend then?"

Nodding her head against his shoulder she was so happy right now, "yes, yes you can if you want to."

Smiling he kissed the top of her head, "I do want to. What do we do about Mikey though? What do we tell him and when?"

Pulling away from him a little she didn't know if he would like what she was about to say, "I don't want to tell him that you're his Dad yet, not when we're still around the arenas full time as this is our business and not the other wrestler's. If you are truly serious about us then we could tell him about us and see how he reacts to it."

Smiling softly he nodded his head, "I am truly serious. When do you want to tell him?"

"Today? There's no point putting it off seeing as you're here and he is here."

Laughing softly he liked the idea of it but it wasn't practical, "except I can't stay, I kind of have to go home and pack as I have a flight to the house show in a couple of hours and I have not packed a thing yet."

Having him here in her arms she wasn't ready to let him go again yet, "don't go then, I'll call them and tell them you won't make it today because of a family emergency."

He had to try not to smile that she wanted him to stay all day, "if you're sure."

She nodded her head, "I am if you are."

Laughing he shook his head, "you know I'm serious about you and this, I told you I loved you didn't I?"

Looking down at the floor nervously she moved off of him as reality sunk in, "I know but things have changed, you now know you're a Father and I didn't lie."

"That doesn't change the fact that I love you. All of those problems are my fault, I couldn't be mad at you because I was too stubborn to listen to the truth and preferred to think the worst of you rather than listen to the truth."

Fiddling with the bottom of the towel she was wearing she was so nervous, "so you really aren't mad at me for keeping it from you? You're not like pretending to not be mad at you?"

Laughing he shook his head, "trust me, I don't have the energy to pretend to be anything that I'm not today because like you I didn't sleep last night. I will do whatever you want me to do to prove to you that I'm not mad and that I won't do something stupid or vindictive or whatever to get back at you. All I want is to be with you and with our son Stephanie, I'm not asking to move in or to get married right now, all I want is for us to take it one day at the time and to continue to build on our growing relationship and to learn how to be a family."

"So you'll stay today? You're okay with us only telling Mikey that we're together and not that you are his Father yet?"

Nodding his head he was okay with it, "yes I will stay today and yes I am okay with us only telling Mikey that we are together and not that I am his Dad yet."

Standing up she smoothed out her towel, "then I guess I need to get dressed as we really need to go downstairs because my Mom needs to leave."

Watching her as she walked to her drawers and grabbed some clothes he continued to admire her body, "I would be okay with you wearing just that or less but I know it's not suitable."

Rolling her eyes playfully she shook her head, "don't push it Hunter."

Putting his hands up in defence he smiled as sweetly as possible, "I'm sorry, I just wanted you to know I thought you were beautiful."

"You could have just said that instead of sounding like a perv."

"HEY! In my defence my brain isn't working properly because I didn't sleep last night, cut a guy some slack."

Not wanting to answer that she grabbed her clothes and walked to the bathroom door only stopping briefly when he called her name.

Calling her name he waited until she stopped before he simply said, "I love you."

Leaning on the door frame briefly she smiled at him, "I love you too."

Disappearing into the bathroom she shut the door behind her to get dressed.
