Hunter managed to sit still for a couple of minutes to wait for Mikey and Stephanie to return but in the end he couldn't just sit there and got up and started to tidy things away off the top and just put the plates in the dishwasher cleaning the kitchen thoroughly.

Once Mikey had cleaned his teeth he was eager to go back downstairs, "we go down now?"

Nodding her head she followed him slowly as he practically bounded down the stairs to get back to Hunter.

Hunter was bent down putting the last dish in the dishwasher unaware that he was hidden from view as Mikey came bounding back into the kitchen until he heard Mikey started to whine and he stood up shutting the dishwasher door as he went, "what's wrong?"

As he entered the kitchen Mikey looked around and couldn't see Hunter anywhere and was really sad because he thought he meant it when he said he'd stay and he started to whine at the fact that he wasn't here. When he heard a voice behind him he jumped and spun around surprised to see Hunter stood there, "Hunner! You's here?"

Laughing he nodded his head as he leant on the island, "I said I would be didn't I?"

"But you was hiding, I didn't think you was here, I was sad."

Hunter had an idea that he didn't think all of the way through as he didn't have time, "hey Mikey, come here and let's surprise your Mom."

Liking that idea he ran over to Hunter and he followed his lead as he crouched down behind the island and waited for his Mom.

Entering the kitchen Stephanie wondered where the boys had disappeared to as they didn't appear to be in the kitchen so spun around to see if they were actually in one of the other rooms and she had missed them.

Waiting until the right moment Hunter spotted it and whispered to Mikey, "after three we both jump up and shout 'boo' at your Mom." Waiting until Mikey nodded his head to acknowledge what he said he then whispered, "one, two, three."

As soon as he had counted to three both of the boys jumped up and shouted, "boo!"

Jumping a mile and spinning around with her hand on her heart she felt like it was about to beat out of her chest having been scared half to death by the two of them, "you two are in so much trouble for scaring me."

Hunter smiled sweetly at her whilst Mikey ran around the island and hugged her tightly, "I sowwie Mommy, p'ease don't be mad."

Hugging her son she never really could be mad at him and she wasn't actually mad at them anyway so she bent down to his level, "I'm not mad, I promise. So what do you want to do now?"

"Watch movie."

Smiling softly that was okay with her because it meant very little energy would be used, "sure. Why don't you go and pick out a movie with Hunter whilst Mommy makes a quick phone call and then she'll be in."

Turning around Mikey walked back to Hunter and grabbed his hand pulling on it, "comes on, we's got to be quick."

Allowing himself to be pulled towards the door he stopped briefly by his girlfriend, "calling work to say I won't be there?"

Nodding her head she smiled softly, "yes. I will be in in a minute I promise."

Kissing his girlfriend quickly on the cheek he then started walking again to help Mikey pick out a movie.

Ten minutes later and Hunter and Mikey were sat comfortably on the couch with the TV on ready to play the movie as they waited for Stephanie to join them. Hunter was just about to get up and look for her when she came strolling into the lounge and took a seat on the couch next to Mikey so he was sandwiched between her and Hunter and started to play the movie.

Once his girlfriend had sat down Hunter lay his arm across the back of the couch resting it on his girlfriend's far shoulder hoping he wasn't pushing her too far.

Feeling the hand on her shoulder she turned her head to the side a little to see that it was Hunter's and raised her one hand lacing her fingers in his holding his hand gently before she turned her head to the other side to look at him smiling softly before she turned her attention to the movie.

When the movie ended Mikey looked at his Mom but she had her eyes closed so he turned to look at Hunter, "Mommy s'eeping."

Smiling softly at the little boy he turned the DVD player off before he got off the couch, "why don't we let her sleep and go and down something quiet so we don't wake her?"

The little boy's eyes widened at the idea, "we goes outside?"

Nodding his head Hunter was happy to do that, "sure. Whilst I lay your Mom down so she doesn't wake up with a sore neck can you go and find your shoes please?"

Sliding off the couch Mikey ran to retrieve his shoes whilst Hunter carefully lay Stephanie down on the couch putting a pillow beneath her head before he covered her with the blanket from the back of the couch and led the newly returned Mikey towards the kitchen to put his shoes on without waking her.

A good hour later and Stephanie finally woke up from her peaceful slumber feeling a lot more relaxed and a little more awake but as she opened her eyes she looked around for any signs of Mikey or Hunter but there was nothing and she started to panic a little. Sitting up she threw the blanket off of her and climbed off the couch immediately heading for the playroom to see if they were in there but when that room was empty she went for the stairs and started to call their names.

Receiving no response she ran up the stairs searching room by room but found nothing and now was panicking a lot, she couldn't believe that Hunter had run off with Mikey, she had trusted him so much and he had let her down so badly. Running back downstairs she was going to have to call her Mom and ask for her help and advice because she didn't know what to do as she was in pieces. Walking into the kitchen she picked her cell phone up from the kitchen table where she had left it and was about to call her Mom when the back door opened and Mikey walked in quickly follow by Hunter, "shhh, we don't want to wake your Mom."

She didn't know whether to be relived or whether to hit Hunter seeing them in front of her, "where the hell have you two been?"

Mikey jumped and quickly shrank back not liking being shouted at as he didn't know what he had done wrong.

Wrapping his arm around Mikey's shoulder Hunter wasn't sure what they had done or why she was angry but he was going to try and placate her, "outside. The movie finished and you were fast asleep and I didn't want to wake you and Mikey wanted to play outside so I thought whilst you slept we could play outside because you needed your sleep."

Her face fell when she realised that she had completely overreacted to the situation, "oh."

He wasn't sure if she was disappointed in him for not doing whatever it was she thought he had done or whether she was relieved to hear that he was just trying to be nice but he was hoping for the best whatever that may be, "so did you sleep well?"

Nodding her head slowly she had but now her mind was all over the place, "yes thanks." Completely changing the subject she turned to Mikey, "so what would you like to do now?"

Hunter stood there dumbly not really knowing what he had done or what was going on or how he could make things better.
