It had been a few weeks since Stephanie had told Hunter about Mikey and things between the two of them couldn't have been better but unfortunately it was now Stephanie's last week on the road as her Dad had been given the all clear to return to his duties a few weeks ago and he had been slowly building up to it.
Walking into the arena for her last Raw in charge she was a little sad because it meant that she wouldn't definitely see Hunter every week, they were going to have to make the extra effort to fit dates in when they were both really busy. Turning her head to say something to Mikey she frowned when he wasn't beside her, turning right around she frowned seeing him lingering near the doorway, "what's wrong?"
Mikey frowned, "don't wanna come in, it means we's leaving."
Sighing softly she stood the suitcases up against the wall before she walked over to him kneeling down in front of him, "we're not not coming back ever again, it just won't be every week any more because you have school starting soon and we simply can't do it. If you don't want to come in though I guess you can stay there but you won't be able to go in the ring if you do."
Mikey's eyes widened at the mention of the ring, "pwomise?"
"Promise you won't get to go in the ring?"
Frowning he shook his head, "pwomise I can goes in da ring."
Nodding her head she smiled at him, "I promise but that's only if you come inside, if you don't then you can't."
Running past his Mom he ran to the suitcases, "ready."
She should have guessed that mention of the ring would convince him to come inside. Walking back to him she grabbed the suitcases again and dragged them to her office.
Stephanie had been busy doing her work for about an hour when there was a knock on the door, lifting her head she called out enter and smiled when she saw her boyfriend walking through the door, "I was just thinking about you."
Walking over to Mikey Hunter gave him a quick kiss on the top of the head, "hi there little man." He then walked over to his girlfriend and pressed a quick kiss to her lips, "all good thoughts I hope?"
Smiling she sat down on the edge of her desk, "kind of, sort of. I was thinking about us and Trish and I think I should tell her the truth about us before Mikey and I leave mostly for good."
Hunter felt that Trish deserved to know the truth also so he agreed with her, "okay."
Not actually registering what he had said she started to fight for what she believed, "you see the thing is that Trish has been so su . . . wait, you said 'okay' to me telling her?"
Nodding his head slowly he wasn't sure what part of 'okay' had been so hard for her to understand, "yes I did. Why is that so hard for you to understand?"
Shrugging her shoulders, "I don't know, I just figured I would have to try a little harder to convince you that it was a good idea. I had an entire speech prepared and everything."
Laughing softly he thought she was so cute, "well you can waste your breath and continue with your little speech or you can put your breath to good use."
Raising her eyebrow she looked at him oddly, "I can huh?"
Nodding his head he stepped a little closer to her aware that Mikey was in the room, "yup, you can use your breath to kiss me with."
Laughing she rolled her eyes at him, "yeah well it's too bad we have a little one in the room because otherwise I would have contemplated it."
"Well I could blindfold him or throw him out if you'd prefer."
Slapping him gently she rolled her eyes, "don't you dare or I will be throwing you out."
Pouting Hunter pretended to look offended, "well that is just plain cruel, you only had to say 'no' and I would have backed off."
Shaking her head at him she couldn't help but smile at him, "cute, real cute."
He shrugged his shoulders, "I try, I try. I had better get going though before anyone gets suspicious and thinks I have been in here too long so I will catch up with the both of you later."
Mikey lifted his had and waved at Hunter, "bye Hunner."
Waving at Mikey he smiled before he turned to his girlfriend and waved at her, "bye beautiful."
Frowning a little she hated that he had to leave so quickly, "bye, I'll see you later though."
Nodding his head he turned and walked to the door and put his hand on the handle ready to open it when he had a question he wanted to ask of her, "do I make you happy Steph?"
Before Stephanie had chance to answer Mikey said, "yup."
Turning her head to look at her son she was confused, "why are you answering for me Mikey? The question was clearly directed at me and not you."
Mikey frowned not sure why he was getting told off, "buts you are, you no cwy and you 'mile proper."
Letting go of the handle Hunter walked closer to his girlfriend not really wanting Mikey to hear this conversation any longer, "is it true?"
Sighing she ignored his question, "trust my son to make me sound like an unstable crazy person."
Not liking the way she was talking about herself he framed her face with his hands forcing her to look at him, "you're not unstable or crazy Steph, it has to have been hard for you."
"Like you wouldn't believe. You have no idea how hard it is to deal with a young child all on your own all day and all night getting little sleep and having nobody there to pick up the slack for you to give you a small break. I know I had my parents but they had their own jobs and I couldn't rely on them so I had to do it all by myself and yes, some nights I did cry and I probably didn't enjoy it as much as two parent families do."
Leaning a little closer to her he pressed a soft kiss to her lips, "I'm sorry."
Pulling away from him a little she shook her head, "stop saying that, it's as much my fault as it is yours."
"But more mine than yours, Steph I'm not stupid and you can't hide from the truth which is if I had believed you then you wouldn't have been in that position."
Raking her fingers through her hair she didn't want to be what their relationship was built on, "we can't keep doing this Hunter, we can't build a relationship on you saying you're sorry and you trying to make up for lost time. If we're going to be together then we need to be together because we love each other and we want to be together and not because one of us feels like it's the right thing to do."
Frowning he stepped back, was that what she really thought of him, "but that's not why I'm here, it's not why I'm with you. I'm with you because I love you, I never stopped, I think you're my soul mate and we were meant to be together and that's what I want but I do still hold some guilt for how things went down before but I can't just magically erase the guilt."
Sighing softly she didn't want to do this with him, she didn't want to fight and break up, "I don't want to fight with you, I just want to know that you're in it for the right reasons."
"No offence Steph but if I didn't really want to be with you I would have found somebody else a long time ago. I never could forget you and get past what we had. I wish I could prove to you that this is what I want and I'm not doing it because I think it's the right thing to do but I can't."
Gripping his hands gently she realised that what he was saying was the truth and she was just overreacting, "I'm sorry for overreacting, I should have just believed and trusted in you."
"It's still early days, you're going to have your wobbles and so am I but together we can get through them."
Leaning up she kissed him softly, "I love you."
Smiling at her he was a little surprised by the declaration but always happy to hear it, "I love you too but now I really do need to get going."
Leaning closer again he pressed a quick kiss to her lips before he pulled away and left the locker room hopeful that nobody had gotten suspicious.
