Stephanie spent a few hours with her head down working hard, knowing that Mikey was with Hunter and would be okay gave her the confidence to just focus on her work and not pause and check up on him. As she didn't need to check on Mikey she managed to get all of the work she had planned to do through the entire day before lunchtime. Saving all of the work she shut her laptop down and as it was shutting down she got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen to check up on the boys.

Hunter was focussed on painting pictures whilst keeping an eye on Mikey who was deep in concentration on his second painting of the morning when he heard movement just outside the room so lifting his head he watched and smiled as his girlfriend walked through the door. Pushing his chair back from the table a little he pouted at her, "Mikey was mean to me."

Raising her eyebrow she noticed Hunter's actions so walked over to him and took a seat in his lap, "what did Mikey do to you?"

Hunter pouted, "he wouldn't let me see his picture."

Laughing softly she pressed a soft kiss to his lips, "awww, poor baby. Did my little baby boy hurt my big bad wrestler boyfriend's feelings? Diddums."

He would have crossed his arms over his chest if she wasn't sat on his lap so he wrapped his arms around her waist, "yes, yes he did. My poor feelings were shattered into a million tiny little pieces."

Rolling her eyes she lay her head on his shoulder, "dork." Turning her attention to Mikey she smiled at him, "so did you have fun with your pictures?"

Mikey nodded his head finally putting down his paintbrush before he slid off his seat and picked up his other painting and took it over to his Mom, "looks Mommy."

Stephanie smiled as she looked at the picture taking in the house and the three people, "it's beautiful baby boy. What is it of?"

Mikey looked at his Mom, "my fam-lee."

Hunter was looking at the picture over Stephanie's shoulder and was confused, "there's three people in the picture."

Turning her head to look at her boyfriend she smiled, "thank you Captain State the Obvious." Turning back to Mikey she smiled softly, "so who's in the picture Mikey?"

Moving closer to his Mom he pointed at the people, "me, you's an' Hunner."

Stephanie needed air and quickly put the picture on the table and unfolded Hunter's arms from around her waist before she got up rushing out of the room."

Watching his Mom run out of the room Mikey frowned, "where Mommy go?"

More than a little confused Hunter shrugged his shoulders not sure what to say, "I guess she forgot to save her work on her computer, I'm sure she will be back in a minute."

Nodding his head Mikey went back to his other picture whilst Hunter sat there desperate to chase after her but not wanting Mikey to follow.

Walking out of the kitchen Stephanie made her way into the lounge and looked out of the window just needing a quiet minute to herself as what she had just seen was so overwhelming to her. Mikey saw Hunter as part of their family and he didn't know the truth and she just didn't know what to do or how to react.

After taking a few minutes for herself she knew what she had to do, "boys, can you join me in the lounge please?"

Hearing his Mom call for them Mikey frowned as he slid off his chair, "we's in twuble."

Hunter rested his hand on the little boy's shoulder as they walked out of the kitchen, "don't worry, if we are I'll take the blame for it."

Mikey nodded his head and ran ahead into the lounge stopping dead in front of the couch, "Hunner's sowwie."

Raising her eyebrow she was confused, "he is? What did he do?"

Shrugging his shoulders he didn't know, "dunno. We's in twuble, he said he takes da blame."

Laughing softly she shook her head, "you're not in trouble and neither is Hunter. Comes and sit on the couch with me please, both of you."

Mikey ran over to the couch and climbed on sitting beside his Mom as Hunter walked around the other side of the couch and took a seat beside her sitting back comfortably not entirely sure why she wanted to talk to them both.

Once they were both sat down on the couch Stephanie reached behind her and took Hunter's arm wrapping it around her needing to feel the closeness and comfort of him being there.

Moving a little closer to her on the couch he pulled her a little closer pressing a kiss to her cheek he wanted her to know that it would all be okay even if he had no idea what was going on.

Relaxing into his touch she took a few deep breaths before she turned her attention to Mikey, "Mommy needs you to really listen to her right now."

Nodding his head Mikey gave her his full attention.

As soon as she was satisfied that he was listening she started to talk, "you know how Grandma and Grandpa are married just like Uncle Shane and Auntie Rissa?"

Nodding his head the little boy smiled, "dey have pwetty wings."

Smiling softly she nodded, "yes they do. Many years ago before you were born Mommy was married too . . . to Hunter."

Mikey's eyes widened as he looked between the two of them, "weally?"

Hunter had a feeling that he knew where this was going so he wanted to show his support, "yes really. We were married for about four years so about how long you have been alive."

Before Mikey could ask any questions Stephanie continued, "unfortunately some complicated adult things happened that you wouldn't be able to understand and we ended up splitting up and divorcing but what Hunter didn't know when we split up was that I was pregnant . . . with you."

Mikey's eyes widened, he didn't really understand what was being said to him or what the meaning behind it was though, "oh."

Knowing that he didn't understand she wanted to clarify quickly not wanting to drag it out and make it complicated for him to understand, "basically what I am trying to tell you is that Hunter is your Dad."

"My Dad's not a bit dead?"

Hunter's head snapped to the side and he looked at his girlfriend confused, "you told him I was dead?"

Unable to stop herself at the panic on his face she laughed as she shook her head, "no, he overheard my Dad and Shane talking about his Dad being a deadbeat and he repeats it as 'a bit dead' not deadbeat. I didn't tell him anything, he's too young." Turning her attention back to her son she bit the inside of her cheek briefly, "your Dad wasn't a deadbeat, he just didn't know you existed. Mommy and Hunter didn't end very well, we were both very angry at each other and weren't able to talk and Mommy stopped going to the arenas because she was pregnant with you and things weren't going well and she had to take care of herself and you so he didn't see her."

Hunter wasn't sure if this was the right thing to say but he needed to say it, "before I knew about you I loved you very much and you were very special to me and then when I found out that you were my son I loved you even more. I am a very lucky man to have such an amazing son in you and that your Mom, as beautiful and as amazing as she is, has given me a second chance."

Able to see that he was confused and overwhelmed Stephanie knew it was the right time to drop the subject with him until he was ready to talk about it, "you don't have to call Hunter Dad, you can still call him Hunter until you are happy and comfortable and you want to call him Dad."

Mikey nodded his head, "kay kay. Can I p'ay now?"

Shaking her head the was one more thing she needed to speak to him about, "not quite. Hunter wants to take us to see his family and to tell them about he and I being back together and to introduce them to you. We were thinking about doing it later this week but if it's too soon for you then we don't have to."

Sitting silently for a minute he thought hard about it, "who are dey?"

"Well there will be his Mom, his Dad and maybe his sister and potentially her family so her husband and her two kids which would be another Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Lynn, Uncle Gordon and two cousins in Neysa and Peter but they're a little older than you are."

"Will I gets Gramma hugs?"

Hunter raised his eyebrow at that, "that depends, do you like Grandma hugs?"

Mikey nodded his head eagerly, "Gramma gives da bestest hugs."

Laughing Hunter smiled, "well personally I think my Mom gives great hugs and she will happily give you some Grandma hugs."

Satisfied with that he was done with the conversation now, "'kay we go. Can I p'ays now p'ease?"

Chuckling softly she nodded her head, "sure thing baby, go and have some fun."
