After dropping such a big bombshell on Mikey Stephanie decided to give him a little bit of time to digest it in his own way by allowing him to play for a while before she did lunch.

With the decision made within herself to allow Mikey to play for a while Stephanie turned to look at her boyfriend watching as he was seemingly relaxed and just leant back on the couch. Staring at him she was confused, she thought he would be more passionate or something right now but there was nothing.

Feeling her eyes on him he turned his head to look at her confused by the look on her face, "did I do something wrong?"

Without thinking she just blurted out, "why are you so calm?"

Confused he moved on the couch and turned to look at her properly, "huh? Am I not supposed to be calm? Steph you are seriously confusing me right now and that is really easy considering I had no sleep last night."

Sighing she rubbed her face with her hands, "Mikey was so relaxed about it all, why are you not upset or something because he didn't call you Dad or show any sort of emotion to the news."

Shrugging his shoulders he wasn't sure that this would come out properly, "because I wasn't expecting him to. Steph, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, he is only a kid so I just didn't really expect a lot because I doubt he really understands what's going on."

"So you do care?"

Taking her hands in his he nodded his head, "I do care, a lot, I just wasn't expecting much from telling him because I wasn't sure how he would react. There is one thing for him to know me as your boyfriend and to enjoy having me around as a friend sort of thing but it is another thing to know I am his Father."

Sighing softly she moved closer to him and wrapped her arms around his waist, "I love you."

Kissing the top of her head as he held her close he smiled, "I love you too."

Moving to sit back properly on the couch he watched as she got comfortable on the couch before she cuddled into his side and rested against him, always happy to have her close to him he just wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close allowing her to relax.

After some time just relaxing quietly on the couch Stephanie removed herself from Hunter's arms and got up, "I need to get lunch done. Do you want to stay for it?"

Nodding his head he wasn't going to turn down the chance not to have to make food for himself, "that would be great please if you don't mind."

Shaking her head it wasn't a problem, "I don't mind at all. I'm going to make lunch now so you can do whatever."

Laughing he shook his head and got up from his seat, "I might go and check on Mikey or join you in the kitchen, I haven't decided yet."

Shrugging her shoulders she turned around and made her way into the kitchen to start on lunch as she was kind of starving now.

With Stephanie in the kitchen Hunter decided to go and see what Mikey was up to so he made his way to the playroom and leant against the door frame as he watched his son playing on the floor, "having fun?"

Mikey jumped and spun around having not heard anyone coming, "you scareds me."

Hunter frowned, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

The little boy shrugged, "it's 'kay, you cans p'ay wiv me."

Smiling softly he walked across the room and took a seat next to the little boy, "so what do I have to do?"

"We race da cars 'round da track."

Hunter nodded his head, "I should be able to manage that. Do you like racing the cars?"

Mikey climbed onto his knees not looking at Hunter, "yup, da faster da better."

Chuckling he shook his head as it looked like his son was a bit of a speed freak, "we'll see who wins then won't we?"

Before Hunter even had a chance to begin Mikey began racing his car around the track before he jumped up excitedly, "I wins."

Hunter's eyes widened and he pouted, "that wasn't fair, I didn't even know it had started."

Rolling his eyes dramatically the little boy sat back on the floor, "kay, we goes 'gain for you."

Sniggering lowly Hunter smiled, "thanks. After three we'll race, 1 . . . 2 . . . 3."

As soon as Hunter said '3' Mikey was racing the car around the track and Hunter was deliberately going slower so he would win. When he passed the finish line a second time Mikey threw his hands up in the air triumphantly, "I wins."

Hunter nodded his head and sat back leaning on his hands, "you win, I'm terrible."

Mikey sat himself down in Hunter's lap, "yup but I luvs you."

Sitting up a bit again he wrapped his arms around the little boy, "well thank you, I think, I love you too."

Resting his head against Hunter's chest Mikey sighed softly, "so you's Dad?"

Nodding his head he wasn't sure if things were about to go wrong, "yes I am. Don't you want me to be?"

Mikey shrugged his shoulders, "I likes you, I 'fused."

Hunter was 'fused too as he had no idea what he meant but he was going to try something, "do you mean confused?"

Nodding his head Mikey looked at him like he was dumb, "dat's what I says."

"So why are you confused?"

"Are you Hunner or Daddy?"

Sighing he had to pick his words carefully, "that is up to you. If you want to continue calling me Hunter for the time being then you can or if you want to call me Daddy then you can do that too. At this moment in time I genuinely don't mind, it's just what you prefer."

"So ifs I calls you Hunner I won't be in twuble?"

Shaking his head Hunter brushed his hair back with his hand, "nope, not at all. Your Mommy and I understand this is really confusing for you right now, it's confusing for us too, but we just want you to be happy."

Smiling brightly Mikey didn't want him to think he was sad, "I's 'appy, honest."

Chuckling Hunter leant forward and pressed a soft kiss to the top of his head, "good, I'm happy to hear that."

Just before he suggested they had another race Hunter heard Stephanie calling them for lunch, "oooh lunch, I'm starving."

Mikey nodded his head, "me too. Carry?"

Hunter laughed softly, "I would carry you by your ankles but I think your Mom would kill me. I think she'd also kill me if I gave you a lift on my shoulders so why don't I just race you?"

Without waiting for Hunter to even get up off the floor Mikey ran out of the playroom and into the kitchen, "yay, I wins 'gain."

Following behind Mikey at his normal pace Hunter entered the kitchen and shook his head, "you so cheated, I wasn't even ready."

Stephanie laughed at the two of them and shook her head, "less arguing, more eating."

Pouting Hunter looked at his girlfriend, "aren't you even going to stick up for me?"

Shaking her head she crossed her arms under her chest, "nope. I am Switzerland, I am going to remain entirely neutral on this matter so you can sort it out between you but after you have both eaten."

Smirking devilishly in one swift motion Hunter had picked Mikey up and placed him down on the chair that Stephanie had obviously pulled out for him to sit on, "you heard your Mom, we have to be good boys and eat our lunch."

Mikey squealed when Hunter picked him and just giggled when he placed him in the chair before he picked up his sandwich and began to eat quietly.

With Mikey occupied with his sandwich Stephanie grabbed Hunter's hand and pulled him away from him, "everything okay?"

Nodding his head he sure hoped so, "I think so, he just has a lot to get his head around and he's confused but we talked and I think it's okay now."

Leaning up she pressed a kiss to his lips, "I hope so, I really do."

Smiling softly he did too, "you and me both but if not we will work it out as a family."

Their conversation was interrupted when Mikey said, "you's gots to eat too or you's be in twuble."

Laughing she shook her head, "that is us told."

Taking Hunter's hand in hers she led him over to the kitchen table so they could all eat their lunch together.
