Well, here we go… I know the beginning wasn't any of the things I said, but I like to keep some tricks up my sleeve, or whatever the saying is… and P.S. ****** is to mark switching between persons (and events), just read and you'll see what I mean.
What should I do? Regina thought to herself, should she go to talk to Robin, demand answers to her many questions or should she go check on her child and take her to hospital to see Belle and Rumple again or see how's Zelena doing. She decided on checking on Lily first, she knew Zelena'd be fine, well, she hoped that she'd be fine. She let the purple smoke round her and in the few moments she was in the Charming's apartment.
"Hi, there, what are you doing there?" She asked when she saw little Neal hiding behind the counter.
"Hiding, we're playing hide and seek, Lily's supposed to find me." He explained like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Okay, I'll wait until she finds you." Regina said and went farther in, expecting to see some of the adults and she was not disappointed, Snow and Charming were sitting on the couch, discussing something she only caught a little details(something David wanted to do) before she interrupted them. She cleared her throat and Snow motioned for her to sit on the sofa opposite of the couch they were on, she sat down and shifted uncomfortably.
"What are you doing here? Not that I mind, I'm just asking." Snow asked, not wanting for Regina to get the wrong impression.
"I'm here to pick up Lily, I'll just wait here until they finish a round of hide and seek." Regina said and they were waiting in an uncomfortable silence. The silence was broken by Lily and Neal running in the room, Lily called "Mommy!" and crashed on Regina, well, Regina's legs. Regina helped her up and that time Lily put her arms around her neck and the top of her head in Regina's hair. "I missed you today." Lily said and hugged her just a little tighter, then suddenly she became serious and let go of Regina. "Auntie came and she was so sad. Why was she sad?"
"I'll tell you later, now Rumple and Belle missed you, you want to go see them again?" Regina asked, changing the subject, Lily nodded eagerly in response.
"Thank you… for watching her today." She said and then she and Lily were walking hand in hand out of the apartment.
Zelena sat in the booth in Granny's staring down at her pancakes, they tasted same as Regina's did, I guess now I know who she got it from, Zelena thought to herself and her face fell a little.
"Hey, do you need anything else?" Ruby asked her as she approached her again.
"No… Yes… I don't know." Zelena said, surprising herself with the sadness in her voice.
"You wanna talk about it? I mean I'm no Archie, but I can listen." Ruby offered.
"No… Yes… I mean she is so frustrating sometimes!" Zelena said surprising both the wolf and herself.
"Regina?" Zelena nodded in response.
"I've lived with her since she was pregnant, I watched Lily grow and I know everything she likes and doesn't, but Regina wants to stay here, she wants to keep Lily here." Zelena said, a small amount of bitterness evident in her voice.
"Maybe she wants to give Lily her best chance, maybe she wants her to grow up with her family. Listen, I don't know what's the deal between you and Regina but you seem pretty close. And I guess that you know that Regina's had a tough life, growing up with Cora and everything."
"I grow up in Oz, and I'm not complaining!" Well, not now, anyway, she finished it in her head, but then realizing what she said, she quickly put her hand on her mouth and started in shock. "I'm sorry, I need to go." She somehow made out and went out of the diner.
"Oz?" Ruby said after Elise had left, "Wait a minute!" She said out loud, not caring that she looked like a lunatic talking to herself to everyone else in the diner. "Granny! I have to go out! I need to talk with Emma!" She yelled and left the diner, not waiting to hear older woman's response.
"If she bothers you too much, I'm just a call away, and again thank you for doing this." Regina said to Rumple and Belle when she let Lily settle in Belle's hospital bed.
"We'll be fine, it's not a first time we've watched after a child." Rumple said.
"Okay, thanks, I owe you one." Regina said and kissed the top of Lily's head and left the room.
"She was nervous and hundreds of all the other things, I don't think I've ever saw her like that." Rumple commented once she was gone.
"I'm going to take a wild guess and say she's going to talk to Robin about the divorce and everything." Belle said, giving Lily toys to play with.
Everything was going well, Lily didn't fuss much and she was calm, Belle and Rumple enjoyed it, they played with the little girl and it seemed nothing would go wrong, until…
"Rumple!" Belle called as she watched in shock. Rumple ran back to the room. "What's…?" He started but then noticed what was Belle looking at and his eyes widened also in shock.
"How did she…? Should we…?" Belle asked, but couldn't finish still in a phase of shock.
"Get her down? Yes!" Lily was floating in the air, the white orbs of light were all around her and just when Rumple was about to get her down, she excitedly said "Look! I'm in the air! I'm almost flying!"
"I can see that, but you have to come down with me." He said and using magic floated next to her and took her in his arms and got her down on the floor. "I think we should call Regina." Belle said and Rumple agreed, soon, Belle was dialing Regina's number.
Regina was in the forest, at the edge of Robin's camp, she wanted to go in and find him, but she stayed hidden for a few moments. When she finally got the courage to do it, Little John noticed her.
"Regina… What are you doing here?"
"Robin, I need to find Robin." She answered.
"He's in his tent, he's with Roland."
"Thank you." She said and left to Robin's tent, she carefully entered and found Roland writing or drawing something on a piece of paper while Robin was quietly watching him.
"Hi." She said and when Roland saw her, he ran to her and gave her a big hug.
"Why don't you go and find Little John? You can play with him while Regina and I talk." Robin said, ruffling Roland's hair, Roland merely nodded and left the tent, leaving them alone.
"I saw the papers. Are you okay?" She asked carefully and almost caringly, she immediately forgot half of the questions she wanted to ask him.
"I won't lie, I've been better." He paused and then asked "Why are you here, Regina?" But his voice wasn't harsh, it was just curious.
"I thought that maybe we could talk about what happens next." She paused for a moment and then continued "God, that sounded wrong, I just meant with Lily, do you want to spent time with her?"
"Of course I do, she's my child."
"We'll be staying here. Possibly for good." Regina notified him. "Okay, but there are some rules. Number 1: she can't know you're her father, not now, we'll tell her sometimes, number 2: you can't leave with her without telling me, you can't take her without telling me." She said thinking about the time Emma took Henry in New York, without running it by her first.
"That's it?" He asked and Regina nodded. "Did you want to talk about something else?"
"Yes… No… Maybe… Did you want to talk about something else?"
"Yes… What happens now? What happens with us?" He asked, having more courage than her.
"There is no us, Robin. But maybe, there could be, but not now, you just got divorced, you're hurting even if you don't want to admit it. We'll spend time together with Lily and we'll see where this, whatever this is, goes." She said and was cut short by the ringing of her phone, she checked the caller ID.
"I'm sorry, I need to answer this." She said to Robin and then accepted the call. "Yes, Belle? Calm down, tell me what happened… SHE DID WHAT? Oh my God… maybe we are leaving after all… Belle, she's only three, she can't control it even if she wants to, what I doubt, I'll take her back to Boston because it's safe there. There's no magic to be used. I'll be right there, don't tell anyone else, the last thing I need is an angry mob going after my daughter." She said and hung up. "Do you want to come with me? It's about Lily, and I think you should know." When he answered affirmatively, she took his hand and the purple smoke rounded them both.
