Watching as Mikey sat down on the floor looking up at him expectantly for him to join him Vince quickly shook his head, "the floor is a little low for me, I will stick to sitting on the couch."

Mikey pouted but climbed off the floor and up onto the couch beside his Grandpa, "I sit wiv Poppy."

Vince smiled and wrapped his arm around his Grandson as they sat to watch the rest of the movie together.

Wanting to really have some time to herself and knowing her Dad was keeping a close eye on her son Stephanie made her way into the kitchen and got herself a cup of coffee before she sat down at the island to drink it in peace.

When the movie eventually finished Vince got up and took the DVD out before he turned it off, "so what would you like to do now?"

Mikey shrugged, "dunno, you pick."

Chuckling Vince was happy to make the choice, "let's go and find your Mom first and then maybe we can go outside for a bit, I'd love to see what you can do on your trampoline."

Sliding off the couch Mikey happily followed his Grandpa out of the room as he loved playing on his trampoline. As they entered the kitchen Mikey immediately ran to his Mom, "Mommy, Poppy's gonna p'ay outside wiv me."

Turning to look at her Dad Stephanie shook her head, "Dad you can't go on the trampoline."

Looking at his daughter like she was crazy he shook his head, "I'm not, I will just be watching thank you very much. Even before I had the heart attack I would never play on a trampoline so I'm not going to start now."

Forcing a smile she shrugged her shoulders, "then go right ahead."

Vince could see that the smile didn't reach his daughters eyes and it concerned him, "so you will be coming with us, you clearly have no work to do so you can."

Shaking her head she'd prefer to just be left alone, "it's okay, I'll just stay here and you two can go out and play."

Not wanting his daughter to wallow alone he turned to Mikey, "looks like we're going to have to play dirty Mikey, we need to convince your Mom to come outside with us."

Turning to his Mom Mikey gave her the biggest puppy dog eyes and a pout that he could muster, "p'ease Mommy. I wants you to come."

Glaring at her Dad she was not happy with the tactics he was employing, "don't use my son like that."

"Then don't tell me no. Just come outside, the fresh air will do you good. Don't make me pick you up and carry you."

Groaning she climbed off her stool, "fine, anything for a quiet life."

Mikey jumped up and down clapping his hands before he grabbed his Mom's hand and dragged her towards the back door.

Satisfied that his daughter wasn't going to wallow alone Vince followed them as Mikey dragged her out the back towards the trampoline before she helped him climb on.

Standing beside his daughter next to the trampoline he leant on the edge of it, "so do you care to tell me why you were so upset that I came to visit? I won't be offended."

Sighing she really didn't want to discuss it, "it's not a big deal."

"Clearly it is, you wouldn't be this upset if it wasn't."

"Dad don't okay? I don't want to talk about it."

Part of him wanted to do as she asked but a bigger part of him was concerned, "I know it's about Hunter, I'm just concerned okay?"

Sighing she knew that she wasn't going to get away with not talking about it, "we told Mikey the truth this morning and he has been really unaffected by it and hasn't called Hunter 'Dad' and I'm worried that he has walked out and won't be coming back."

Vince was now utterly confused, "I don't understand? Do you think because Mikey hasn't called him 'Dad' he will walk away? Didn't you explain to him that it will probably be a slow process?"

Turning to face him she didn't like what he was implying, "of course I did, I'm not stupid."

"Then what is the problem? Why do you think he'll walk away if he already knows it might take a while?"

Frowning she looked down at the floor, it was a stupid reason and she knew it, "because he couldn't wait to get out of here when you arrived."

He hadn't realised exactly how deeply affected his daughter still was over what happened all those years ago, "he's not going to leave you Steph, he is in it for the long haul."

"How do you know?"

Shrugging his shoulders he didn't want to give away the fact that he had had a decent conversation with Hunter at Raw earlier in the week about his relationship with Stephanie and he had said as much, "because I saw the way he was looking at you, he didn't really want to leave, he just thought it was the polite thing to do."

Their attention was drawn back to Mikey on the trampoline when he called for them as as they turned to look at him they watched as he mimicked the pedigree on an invisible opponent, "I wins."

Shaking her head Stephanie wasn't going to stand for that, "what have I told you about performing wrestling moves?"

Looking down at the trampoline sadly he pouted, "not to?"

"Exactly, so please don't do that."

Sighing Vince shook his head, "why don't you go inside and cool off a little and Mikey and I will stay out here and play a little longer."

Giving her Dad a pointed look she shook her head, "do not let him do any wrestling moves."

Rolling his eyes he had no intention of letting him, "don't worry, he won't."

Turning to Mikey she smiled softly, "be a good boy for Grandpa and I will just be inside."

Waiting until his Mom was inside Mikey then said to Vince, "we w'estle?"

Chuckling Vince shook his head at him, "no we're not, you heard your Mom. I actually wanted to have a chat with you though if you don't mind?"

Shaking his head he bounced across the trampoline until he was in front of his Grandpa and then sat down on it, "we tat."

Laughing Vince climbed to sit on the edge of the trampoline, "you mean chat but okay. So I heard you got told something pretty big today."

Mikey frowned, "I did?"

"I heard you got told that Hunter is your Dad."

The little boys eyes widened as he looked at his Grandpa in surprise, "you heards?"

Realising that his Grandson didn't understand that Stephanie told him he decided to have some fun, "of course, Grandpa's know everything."

"You knows whats I's get for my birfday?"

Laughing Vince nodded his head even though he didn't, "of course I do but I can't tell you because I will lose my special Poppy powers."

Clearly intrigued by what the special powers were he moved closer to his Grandpa, "you has special Poppy powers?"

"Oh of course. How else do you think I am able to extend your bedtime when you stay with your Grandma and myself? If I tell you what you are getting for your birthday I won't be able to do that any more and we don't want that to happen do we?"

Mikey quickly shook his head so Vince went back to the original topic, "so what do you think about Hunter being your Dad?"

Shrugging his shoulders he had no real feelings, "it's cool, I likes Hunner an' I likes him being 'round."

"It's a bit more serious than just liking having him around though Mikey, he's like your Mommy and he'll tell you what to do and you have to listen to him."

Frowning Mikey clearly thought about it before he said, "he makes Mommy 'appy, I likes dat, Mommy smiles."

"But what about you? This is about how you feel about Hunter being your Dad, I want to know if you're happy."

Quickly nodding his head he smiled, "I is, we fam-lee."

Opening his arms to his Grandson he smiled when he climbed onto his lap, "if you're ever unhappy you can always talk to me okay?"

Nodding his head Mikey rested his head on his Grandpa's chest, "fank 'oo Poppy, loves you."

Kissing the top of his head he smiled, "I love you too."
